THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE

The Senior Family Support Coordinator is responsible for coordinating our support services for people affected when someone goes missing. This role leads the team providing emotional and practical support provision to families and friends impacted by a disappearance. This is a key safeguarding role to ensure people who are experiencing trauma and ambiguous loss can access our services safely and that their needs are assessed and met.

You will coordinate the charity’s offering to the community affected which includes in person annual events, peer support forum, online and social events and groups, co-production activities, engagement, and opportunities for publicity.

ABOUT YOU

You will need to have experience of:

• Working in a frontline service delivering advice, help or support to vulnerable people or families by phone or digitally;
• Managing an active caseload of people with varying needs regarding frequency and level of support;
• Line managing staff and/or volunteers;
• Understanding and implementing safeguarding procedures, assessing risk, developing needs assessments and handling complex and sensitive situations;
• Planning and running events or groups for service users.
• and possess the following skills:
• Supporting people experiencing trauma;
• Able to maintain a calm and considered approach, to evaluate situations objectively, consult effectively and give appropriate advice and guidance.

The Activity Service is an important part of our organisation, delivering high quality activities to the older people of Merton. Our Activity team create and deliver a wide range of activities including a daily lunch club, crafting, poetry, singing and exercises at our centre in Mitcham and other locations across the borough of Merton.

The Activity service is busy and vibrant where no two days are the same, the service has over 10,000 attendees a year, taking part in over 700 activities and exercise classes. The service enables our community to live more healthily, happily and independently in later life.

About the Role

We are recruiting an Activity Coordinator to support the Activity Service Manager in the delivery and development of the Activity service.

The Activities Coordinator will be a hands-on role, working with the team who deliver a wide range of activities both existing and new at our centre and across the borough of Merton.

The role will deputise for the Activities Service manager and has line manager responsibilities overseeing both the team and the delivery of activities. This role will work closely with the volunteers who support the service, building on the current volunteer programme to develop the volunteer role and experience.

The role will play a key part in organising the delivery of existing activities, ensuring they are delivered to an exceptional standard with the service users at the heart of the service.

Key Result areas

Administrative Duties

· Introduce new ways to pay for activities such as online bookings.

· Take bookings for all activities and input details on to the CRM.

· Answer telephone enquiries for the Activity centre.

· Greet all clients and volunteers attending the Activity centre.

Data Capture, Evaluation and Reporting.

· Respond to feedback and suggestions from clients to develop activities.

· Keep records up to date on the CRM for attendees of all activities.

· Working with the Activity Service Manager to expand the delivery of activities into areas of the borough not currently served.

· Working with the Activity Manager to develop client feedback opportunities.

· Support the Activity Manager to identify and write up case studies for funding applications.

· Use the CRM to run reports to support funding bids and reporting.

General

· Establish good working relationships with all relevant stakeholders and liaise as required Comply at all times with the policies and procedures of Age UK Merton.

Complementary Therapy Coordinator

The purpose of this role is to coordinate and develop the Complementary Therapy (CT) service to provide the best possible care for patients and carers, both at our hospice bases and in their own home across North West and South West Herts and Bucks. • To coordinate and develop the Complementary Therapy service.

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Coordinator to support our care teams in delivering a high-quality family support service in the region, working with families and professionals to ensure the families we support have access to the services they need.

This role will support Bond’s portfolio of convening events. This role is to support Bond’s events function with the overall running of Bond and Bond working group events and to provide administrative and logistical support in the lead up to, during and after events.

We convene a diverse range of audience that goes beyond the Bond membership, so that Bond members and non-members can connect, share knowledge and maximise influence. Bond’s convening power and large reach mean that we can convene diverse audiences on several topics. The events function works across teams to support and lead on the delivery of different types of convening. This covers learning events, practical events and information sharing events, with differing audience sizes, and some events are for Bond members only and others are open to all. Delegates can include senior decision-makers in governance, fundraising, finance, human resources, procurement, programmes, effectiveness, monitoring, evaluation, policy, advocacy, campaigning, communications and marketing.

Main responsibilities

• Creating events in salesforce and uploading them to Bond’s website according to the organisations style guidelines
• To support all digital content of uploading and editing sessions and speakers on the Bond website
• To coordinate logistics for in-person, virtual, or hybrid events. This will include visiting venues in person as and when required and supporting with in person, virtual and hybrid events.
• To manage the events inbox and ensure all delegate and participant queries are responded to in a timely and efficient manner
• Build and maintain key relationships with internal and external partners
• Work with Events Adviser to support events delivery 
• To manage all event-related tasks, including drafting event materials and communications (such as invitations and post-event emails), compiling post-event reports, collecting attendee feedback, tracking metrics, and updating the CRM (Salesforce) with attendance data. Art History Link-Up believe that art history shouldn’t belong to the handful of people who currently have the opportunity to study it, unfortunately currently, fewer than 1% of state schools offer History of Art A level. To address this, AHLU has provided free courses in art history to over 500 students from over 300 schools across the UK. A lot of people know NCT for our antenatal classes, and we want to continue to support as many parents and families as we can to access evidence-based information. But we are also much more than this. We are a charity that campaigns on the issues that matter to parents. We run breastfeeding and infant feeding support, provided by specialist counsellors. We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. And we support women and families facing specific challenges, such as social isolation, feeding difficulties or poor mental health. 

We are delighted to be commissioned to deliver a programme of work across Hounslow which supports parents to be able to feed their babies in the way that is right for them and feel informed and supported throughout.

We are seeking a capable Peer Supporter who will attend and provide support at all of our community groups. It will include travel across the Hounslow Borough (expenses will be reimbursed). Homeworking is required to complete administrative duties.

The Peer Supporter will work alongside volunteer Peer Supporters, the NCT Breastfeeding Counsellor and the Service Delivery Manger for Hounslow. They will be providing peer support in the community, offering one to one support at groups and via home visits. The post holder will be engaging with families most in need, liaising with health professionals and Children Centre staff and ensuring communities know how to access the service. 

This role will be working to continuously make a difference for the many families across Hounslow who struggle with feeding their baby and social isolation in pregnancy and postnatally.

• Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters.

• Liaise with NCT staff, volunteers, Health Professionals and NCT Practitioners. 

• Be able to travel around the Hounslow area to groups. 

 
It is essential for this post that, unless already trained by NCT, you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter.  This requires breastfeeding experience of ideally, at least 3 months. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.

The role is 14-21 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day. This is a community based role within Hounslow Borough.
