You will provide an expert and professional service on behalf of thirtyone:eight; including the provision of consultancy and engagement services, maintenance of policy, procedure and best practice guidance and contribute to the operation of our safeguarding helpline. 

We are looking for a person with strong communication skills and experience of providing safeguarding support and advice as part of a multi-disciplinary or faith-based context to join our established team for maternity cover. 

With a demonstrated commitment to the safeguarding and wellbeing of children and adults, you will need a good working knowledge of safeguarding policy, practice and legislation across diverse contexts (including the UK four nations), as well as a solid understanding of implementing safeguarding at a grass-roots level with faith organisations. Please note that this job could be home based, office based or hybrid.

The out of hours cover hours are: 7am-9am and 5pm-midnight weekdays; and 7am - midnight Sat & Sun. There are minimal calls coming through during this time so you would not be on the phone all these hours. 

Salary: £24,102 per annum

We're looking for a polite and friendly individual with a full driving licence and the ability to undertake heavy lifting, to help us maximise sales and profit by collecting and distributing donations for our Preston Furniture Shop and the surrounding areas. Shelter Trading Limited is best known for its national network of charity shops and thriving Christmas card business.

Your key responsibilities

• Collect and deliver donated items, including large furniture and electrical items and assist with the redistribution of stock, fixtures and fittings between branches
• Undertake house clearances and transfer appropriate donated goods to the shop
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain accurate mileage records
• Always maintain a high standard of customer service and strict control of the security of goods collected, transported and delivered.

Weymouth Office

Are you a client-focused, proactive and compassionate individual with a proven track record of working with vulnerable people who have multiple disadvantages?  If so, Shelter has an exciting opportunity - Support Worker - Housing First to join our team and play a central role in delivering our vital support projects.

About the role

You will work closely with the Housing First team, colleagues and accommodation providers, to place clients directly into homes in places they want to be. Then you will work with them to develop outcome-focused support plans that reflect their personal strengths and goals, to make sure that they can sustain their accommodation and thrive in their community.

You will coordinate support around your clients and act as a key worker to help them sustain their accommodation and move forward with their lives. This will mean coordinating interventions provided by other agencies so that the right support is provided at the right time, to enable the service user to progress on their journey to recovery.  Giving full advice on different issues such as homelessness and housing options, tenancy issues e.g. dampness and disrepair, welfare and housing benefits, debt and employment is also a key aspect of the role. You will need to visit clients in their homes or community locations which could be anywhere in Dorset.

About you

You will need a relevant background that includes experience of housing, homelessness and welfare benefits law and experience supporting people who are vulnerable and/or have multiple disadvantage. Through this you will have a good working knowledge of safeguarding frameworks. Proficiency using a range of IT tools to carry out your work, including Microsoft Office applications and case management systems. The role will need you to visit clients in their homes so you will need a valid driving licence and be willing to use your vehicle for work purposes - for which an essential car user allowance will be paid.

You will be part of the Dorset Hub which has offices in Poole and Weymouth and will link in with other Shelter teams, including the community advice and legal teams. We offer specialist housing advice and legal representation as well as housing workshops and lived experience activities in the community. Working alongside the wider Weymouth Team - Intensive Floating Support and Reach Out drug and alcohol team, you will take a multi-agency approach working closely with other organisations such as housing, health and social care to get the best outcomes for our clients.

About the Project

Our Future Youth service provides one to one mentoring support, delivered face-to-face in the community for a period of up to 6 months (depending on the needs and goals of the young person).

Service Objectives

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s Future YOUth service are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of children and young people experiencing mental health issues in Hertfordshire.
• To provide high quality 1:1 face-to-face mentoring support, tailored to the individual and incorporating all facets of the young person’s life.
• To be a key service within the CYP MHS system, offering and increasing early access to community based help regarding mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Purpose of Post

The key purpose of this post is to be an integral member of staff delivering the Future YOUth mentoring service. You will provide 1:1 mentoring support for children and young people aged 11-18 who are currently facing mental health problems. Our mentoring service provides 1:1 mentoring support face-to-face in the community for a period of up to 6 months, depending on the needs and goals of the young person. Our mentoring approach is centred around combining practical and emotional support to aid young people in reaching their goals associated with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Your role as a Youth Mentor will be to meet young people on a weekly basis and offer 1-1 support aligned with their needs, building a strong working relationship whereby the young person is empowered to overcome the barriers they currently face. You will also build strong working relationships with the network of people around the young person (e.g. parent/carer, school, statutory professionals) to ensure the best outcomes for the young person and that their needs are advocated for. Flexibility is central to our mentoring approach and mentoring sessions may vary in their format depending on the young person’s circumstances and goals. We give young people choice in how they are supported.

• Annual leave entitlement of 22 days per year pro rata, rising in increments to a max. of 28 days after 5 years employment (plus 8 days Bank Holidays)

Loneliness is a major issue that is now widely recognised in society today, particularly amongst older people. By scheduling weekly calls from our trained volunteers, Age UK's National Telephone Friendship Service provides older people with a chance to make a new friend from the comfort of their home.

As a Befriending Coordinator, you will play a vital role in coordinating and supporting the thousands of matches between our members and volunteers across the UK. Whether you are answering emails and calls, ensuring safeguarding measures are upheld or supporting members and volunteers through the onboarding processes, you will be helping to ensure this much needed service reaches those who need it most, in a safe and efficient manner.

Utilising your excellent customer service skills, you will be the first port of call to support our volunteers and older members - so you'll need to be comfortable spending a lot of time on the phone and communicating by email. You'll also need to be passionate about supporting older people and have a good understanding of older people's needs.

This role can either be based at our office in Blackpool, or in Ashburton Devon. We offer a hybrid model of home and office based-working, so you will need to be within a reasonable distance of either the Blackpool or Ashburton office and be willing to travel there regularly. As a guide, the team currently work from the office once or twice a week but please be aware this could increase.

You will work a 35-hour working week, 5 days out of 7 with start and end times between 8am and 6pm. It will include weekend and bank holiday shifts, which will be arranged on a rota basis.

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.

Job Purpose

The Deputy Director: Supply Chain & Logistics will be responsible for overseeing the organisation’s goals and strategy related to supply chain management, procurement, and logistics to ensure these functions best support MAP’s mission.  With the organisation currently experiencing a period of growth in both headcount and scale of operations, the role will be key in enhancing logistics capabilities, supporting expansion efforts, and maintaining consistency in supply chain and logistics practices across multiple regions. This new role will be crucial in managing and optimising supply chain operations across multiple countries and regions, aligning logistics strategies with organisational objectives, and ensuring efficient and secure delivery of medical and other supplies within a complex humanitarian crisis.

Duties and key responsibilities

Leadership, Collaboration & Line Management

· Support the Director of Finance and Operations through preparation for and reporting to governance meetings.

· Participate actively as a member of the Leadership Team.

· Provide leadership, direction, training, and motivation as appropriate to the Procurement & Logistics Manager, and working with the directors of MAP’s overseas offices, to the relevant local procurement, finance, audit, security and logistics staff.

Supply Chains and Procurement

· Oversee MAP’s supply chain strategy to deliver efficient and timely support to field offices within an ever-changing humanitarian crisis.

· Embed logistics strategies to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of humanitarian aid including medical supplies, essential goods and other supplies and materials, while navigating complex and unstable environments.

· Oversee and monitor all the procurement processes and commitments to source goods in compliance with organisational policies and donor guidelines, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, quality control, and ethical standards.

· Manage and grow relationships with local, regional and international suppliers, transport providers, insurers, and partners to secure reliable supply routes and mitigate risks related to border crossings, roadblocks, and security threats.

· Analyse supply chain data and assess trends related to demand, transportation routes, supplier performance, and security conditions to inform strategic decision-making and anticipate future needs.

· Have oversight of each of MAP’s warehouses and distribution centres to ensure proper storage, inventory control, and the safeguarding of supplies against theft, damage, or diversion in high-risk areas.

· Ensure all logistics operations comply with local laws, international regulations, donor requirements, and internal policies while developing contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies for emergencies or sudden changes in the security situations.

· Work closely with the People and Culture, Programmes, and Advocacy teams in the deployment of staff, contractors, emergency medical teams and delegations, including managing travel, accommodation and subsistence for deployed and inbound staff.

Risk Management

· Risk management – manage strategic and operational risks supply chain and procurement areas working with the Head of Internal Audit & Compliance.

· Maintain insurance policies across all MAP offices to ensure appropriate and adequate risk mitigation and meet statutory requirements.

Person Specification

Experience

· Relevant recognised qualifications in Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

· Substantial experience in providing humanitarian aid in conflict zones, or a similar field.

· Strong background in supply chains, procurement and logistics within the NGO sector within a regional or international setting.

· Experience working in conflict and high-risk security environments with complex supply chains across multiple countries.

· Strong background in sourcing, negotiating, and managing relationships with local and international suppliers to secure cost-effective and high-quality goods.
