We are a looking for an experienced and highly motivated Programme Lead: Enterprise who will be responsible for bringing a unit on the Trust’s land back into operation as a functioning venue and subsequently will be responsible for the management and programming of the dual-use space for community and commercial use, including looking for opportunities to enhance the potential of the venue through creative methods. You will also lead, motivate and organise a team of sessional and contract staff to effectively run the space.
Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the operations of the venue(s), ensuring effective running of the space for community and commercial use.
- Educating community bookings on profit-making opportunities for events held at the venues.
- Managing and coordinating internal and external stakeholders, including a team of sessional and contract staff specifically trained to help run the venue.
- With the facilities team, ensure compliance with contracts, agreements, health and safety legislation in relation to your events and the venue.
- Maintaining good systems and records in relation to data collection, management and implementation of initiatives for which you are responsible and via templates for feedback on community bookings.
- Managing any partnership agreements and reporting against agreed outcomes and objectives.
- Responsibility for budget management and reporting.
Experience, knowledge and skills:
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience of managing a venue.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering events within venues.
- Experience of managing and reporting on substantial budgets.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- The ability to provide a friendly and efficient service, with an aptitude for working in a complex and fast changing environment.
- The ability to work flexibly in some cases, in line with project needs.
- The ability to work with diverse communities and in a diverse environment.
- A good understanding of the local area, is desirable.

As our Programme and Network Manager you will lead the development and management of our Now Teach Network offer which begins from point of application. You will support Now Teachers to have a successful career change to teaching and drive to impact for students, schools and wider society.
This role is pivotal in delivering against our retention KPIs and our Network and impact plans to ensure we are facilitating and advocating for the added value that career changers can bring to teaching with our partners, senior stakeholders and funders.
The role will be committed to the continuous development of our Network offer and support the implementation of our nascent courses and resources strand. As we develop our work on impact, the Programme and Network Manager will be responsible for creating and delivering opportunities for the Now Teach Network at scale.

- design and deliver a programme of events online, and in-person including our annual summit
- work with the Director of Programme and Network to develop engagement opportunities for all Network members
- develop, and implement synchronous and asynchronous content.
Commit to Impact and evaluation:
- ensure innovation and a focus on impact, and scale is integrated into our projects
- support the implementation of the impact framework recommendations ensuring uptake by Now Teach Network and integration cross-organisationally
- identify and report on impact Network members are having
- lead the writing and production of project reports, blogs, case studies and other outputs, working closely with the Data and Impact Manager and Communications Lead roles.
Provide robust data and systems:
- understand the importance of robust administrative systems and be committed to ensuring these are kept up to date
- ensure that programme lessons learned are systematically collated and shared with the wider team with recommendations for change as needed
- develop data management, including reports and dashboards, and data visualisation approaches about our activity to support the wider organisation with decision making.

We seek a Programme and Project Officer, a new role that will work across our diverse portfolio, including our innovative Net Zero programme, South Bank Business Improvement District (BID), and projects for Jubilee Gardens Trust.

A proven track record in project management and experience with local authorities, the private sector, and community organisations is essential.
You should have strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for external audiences, and advocacy abilities suited to complex stakeholder environments. You need to be action-oriented, capable of managing a varied workload, and skilled in attention to detail. Experience in working with and engaging with diverse organisations and presenting business cases is crucial.

We are looking for a Programme Coordinator who will support the growth and development of the Democracy Classroom network, helping teachers and youth practitioners to engage young people in politics, democracy and elections.

We support young people to use their voice by providing them with outstanding democratic education. We work with young people, teachers and politicians to help them to learn, teach and engage in politics. We are a non-partisan organisation working across the UK.
ABOUT DEMOCRACY CLASSROOM
Democracy Classroom is a partnership between over 100 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections and democracy. The network supports collaboration through newsletters, training, meet up’s and an annual conference, as well as providing resources and training for teachers and youth practitioners. Democracy Classroom pools the collective support of the sector through the Democracy Classroom Platform, where teachers and youth workers can access the collective support of the membership.
Following the recent General Election, the network has experienced growth and is now preparing to support upcoming elections, votes at 16 and new developments such as changes to democratic education and the curriculum review. The network is non-partisan and works across all 4 nations in the UK.
The aims of the network include:
Increasing the number of young people engaging with democracy and elections.
Increasing the number of teachers and youth workers delivering democratic education, and strengthening their capacity to deliver impactful democratic engagement and voter registration activities in schools, colleges and youth settings across the UK.
Improving coordination between organisations engaging young people across the youth, education and democracy sectors, through growing the Democracy Classroom network.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The post holder will work with the Director and the Programme Manager of Democracy Classroom to support the growth of the Democracy Classroom network by managing the website / platform. They will:
- Liaise with partners to compile learning resources and training opportunities to share on the platform.
- Add resources, training opportunities and other relevant information to the platform as required.
- Ensure the platform is kept up to date and accessible.
- Support Democracy Classroom communication channels - producing Democracy Classroom newsletters and creating engaging social media content to highlight the work of partners, their learning resources and training opportunities, on the platform.
The post holder will also:
- Coordinate training for teachers and youth workers to deliver election education materials.
- Manage the Democracy Classroom database.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluation.
- Provide administrative support for the Democracy Classroom network and other The Politics Project programmes and activities where required.
The job is based on a 12 month, fixed term contract (including a 6-month probation period), with opportunities for extension.
The Politics Project is based in London, and the post holder will be expected to work from the office at least two days a week. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in the evenings and at weekends may be required.

ABOUT YOU
You will have a passion for democratic engagement and will use that passion to support the delivery and growth of the Democracy Classroom network and The Politics Project.
You will be a self-starter, comfortable setting your own pace of work and managing deadlines with only some supervision. You are able to follow instructions and show initiative when needed. You can form good relationships with a range of people from different backgrounds and perspectives. You can problem-solve and be flexible to meet stakeholder needs.
Above all, you have outstanding organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to work under pressure and identify priorities. You will effectively deliver against set targets to agreed deadlines.
In accordance with our Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures, this position requires an enhanced DBS check that we will provide.
Skills & Experience:

- Excellent time management and administrative skills.
- IT literate. In particular, you have experience of data entry / management and can use Google office software.

- Experience of database management.

About the opportunity
Critical to our mission, we are looking to recruit a London Programme Manager to be responsible for a geographical area and the schools within it, whilst supporting geographical expansion. You will oversee your region’s Action Tutoring programmes, liaising with our partner schools and developing new school partnerships, whilst supporting your team of Programme Coordinators to engage pupils and support them to build relationships with stakeholders and retain a strong pool of tutors.
As a Programme Manager, you will line manage up to seven Programme Coordinators to ensure they effectively manage their caseload of schools, whilst driving the quality of programmes and ensuring that the delivery of programmes meets organisational KPIs. This role will take a lead on new school recruitment, regularly pitching to Senior Leaders within schools and managing school partnerships within your region to ensure Action Tutoring’s growth targets are met. Additionally, you will contribute to the wider leadership of the Action Tutoring programme team, lead on programme-specific projects to support the programme department’s priorities and will be expected to support the wider learning and development needs of the Programme Coordinator team.
The position would suit someone who enjoys working with people who have a frontline role, gets energy from pitching to schools and wants to increase their management experience in an exciting and rapidly developing charity. The successful candidate should be able to manage their own workload to a high standard as well as support others, have excellent attention to detail, be adaptable, relational and used to problem-solving, and be able to work well with a range of
stakeholders and be confident in carrying out administrative tasks to support programme delivery.

Salary: £33,964 - £35,669 per annum, depending on experience, plus London Weighting of £2,271 per annum
