As Campaigns and Communications Manager you will be responsible for the strategic development and operational delivery of all PINF campaigns and communications. Acting as a key ambassador for PINF, you will support the Executive Director to develop and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders and to increase the profile of PINF and the indie news sector in the UK. You will work alongside the Executive Director and other staff to contribute to PINF's overall strategy and operational plan, and help to translate these into innovative campaigns and clear and compelling communications which support our overall vision.
You will have the following skills and attributes:

Advocacy. You should be able to develop and deliver an effective campaign, drawing on your excellent knowledge and understanding of the UK’s political framework to build effective working relationships with Ministers, MPs and Peers, members of the devolved administrations, civil servants and regulators.

Communications. You should be able to use your outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including copy-writing and public speaking, to draft and deliver compelling content including speeches, consultation responses, blog posts and comment pieces.

Media. You should be able to engage effectively with print, digital and broadcast journalists, and manage PINF’s social media channels.

Policy. You should be able to distil complex policy issues into clear and compelling positions by drawing on internal and external research. You do not have to be a sector specialist when you start the role, (though you should be able to build your knowledge and understanding rapidly) but you will have a track record of the design and delivery of campaigns which create awareness, engage the wider public and/or strive to change policy.

Partnerships. You should be able to build a coalition of organisations and individuals, drawing on your skill for effective working relationships and your instinct for collaboration to engage and empower people from all backgrounds and experiences.

Management. You should have experience of managing campaigns and projects. Experience of managing organisers or other staff would be a bonus.

Strategy. You should have experience of developing strategy, such as a Strategic Communications Plan and/or working collaboratively to shape and inform organisational strategy and operational plans.

Administration. You should be able to stay on top of your workload by using relevant software (including Microsoft Office, e-campaigning tools and content management systems), keeping accurate and up-to-date records, and prioritising between competing tasks.

About the role:
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our Portfolio and Planning team as a Business Planning Officer.
As a Business Planning Officer, you will play a crucial role in the development and execution of strategic business plans, ensuring the smooth operation of annual planning cycles, team-specific business plans, and effective coordination of various business activities.
The post holder will provide support to the annual business planning cycle, monitoring and tracking the plans, horizon scanning and undertaking ad-hoc duties within the PMO.
- To work in partnership with Head of Portfolio and Planning and Team leads to help provide support, direction and guidance in the development of the NFCC annual business plans ensuring that objectives are set with measurable activity.
- To provide support and lead on aspects of the co-ordination of the corporate planning and reporting activities of the NFCC, monitoring of progress against Key Performance Indicators.
- Monitor and report the delivery and performance against the set objectives; ensuring that content is well evidenced, and is reported on quarterly basis.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement business plans that align with the strategic direction of the NFCC.

Purpose of the role
As a member of the Business Support Team, the post holder will work closely with our leads and their teams to understand and support organisational and programme requirements across our diverse and exciting areas of interest.
The post holder will work closely with others to plan, anticipate and deliver high-quality support across a range of NDTi projects and work areas. They will pro-actively contribute to organisational life and maintain NDTi’s reputation for excellence with our clients and stakeholder.
Key Activities
- Liaise and work with leads with confidence, replying to external and internal queries where possible and escalating others as needed. Keep in regular contract with team members ensuring that they, alongside external stakeholders, understand the support the post holder can provide.
- Gather the necessary information to complete key contractual paperwork throughout the project lifecycle, including contract set up and the prompt receipt and processing of client contracts. Work with the Finance Manager and relevant lead to ensure that invoicing schedules and billing particulars are up to date, that client specific activity reporting is completed accurately, and NDTi’s schedule for delivery is maintained.
- Maintain a schedule of project outputs and work to ensure reports, events and other deliverables are planned and delivered on time, liaising with colleagues across other work areas where needed.
- Plan, organise and effectively project manage regular events of both online and residential including at scale.
- Use existing and emerging technologies and established practices to set up and plan events, ensuring prompt co-ordination and confirmation of arrangements with venues, participants and presenters.
- Lead the process for delegate and stakeholder sign up, liaising with leads to ensure good representation and attendance levels are achieved. Work with the lead to ensure any specific requirements, for example, allocation of places and accessibility needs are managed and met.
- With the project coordinator, work to deliver the event on time and within budget. Keep leads updated, alerting them to potential overspend or other issues, such as take up/attendance levels that could impact the success of the event, as they arise.
- Actively update website and other source information about our team, our work, our events and our resources, ensuing they are up-to-date, and are in keeping with in house and project specific branding guidelines.
- Assist the Marketing and Communications Manager and wider team to connect with partners, stakeholders and groups with an interest in NDTi’s work via online platforms.
- Organise and lead on the booking process and internal organisation of CLS Network workshops and other Network-wide meetings.
- To manage all CLS invoicing ensuring data from contracts is transferred to an invoice and ensuring invoices are logged within the database.
- Collect data in relation to attendance across the CLS sites at Network wide events and workshops and provide regular reports to Network members and CLS team members as required.
- Attend large gatherings in person, lead the setting up and liaison with the venue and provide the welcome and any support to participants to ensure they get the most out of the experience.

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. About Us
Founded in 2007, KHULA Education is an award-winning South African NGO working in partnership with rural schools and underserved communities in deep rural South Africa to ensure children and youth can access a quality education and economic opportunity.
Over the past 17 years, KHULA has transformed schools that were previously failing into schools that compete at the national level; supported hundreds of young people to access tertiary education opportunities; and helped hundreds more on the path to employment. Each year, we support over 6,500 children, youth and more than 300 teachers.
About the Role
KHULA Education is seeking an experienced and dynamic fundraising leader to lead KHULA’s fundraising and communication efforts in the UK and South Africa. The postholder will join us at an exciting time and help us to continue our growth trajectory which has seen our annual budget increase from £250,000 to £1 million in the past several years. Supported by the South Africa based CEO, and working closely with the UK Board of Trustees, the postholder will be joined by a new Fundraising Officer who you will line manage.
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial individual with strategic vision who will play an active part in developing KHULA’s future fundraising strategy. 70% of the role is focused on fundraising directly for our work, 30% on managing KHULA’s communications including donor newsletters and social media content (this may evolve with the recruitment of an Officer).
Key Responsibilities
- Steward, retain and grow the support of our existing donor portfolio: KHULA has an existing portfolio of donors including trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors, individual and regular givers, the majority of whom are based in the UK or South Africa. The post holder is responsible for managing these relationships, including bespoke reporting for trusts and major donors, leading donor meetings and involving our Board and CEO as appropriate.
- Donor prospecting and new business: researching and generating new donor leads as well as acting on opportunities provided by our Board and others, converting prospects into supporters of our programmes.
- External communications: creating our quarterly e-newsletter to a database of ~2,000 supporters, managing our social media channels and the Annual Report, in addition to other ad hoc external communications.
- Fundraising innovation: leading on innovation in our fundraising approach, including creative campaigns to increase donations/recruit lapsed donors, developing products and offerings whilst considering cost effectiveness and ROI. Of particular interest is how to harness the giving potential of guests who are exposed to KHULA Education’s work when they visit Fugitives’ Drift Lodge in Rorke’s Drift.
- Financial management and admin: maintaining our donor database, working with the CEO to prepare our annual budget and fundraising forecasts.
Person Specification
Ideally you’ll have held a role with a similar scope of responsibilities around fundraising and communications, however you don’t need to have held a director level role before. Experience in a smaller charity and team is beneficial as you’ll need to be comfortable with both the strategic development side and inputting into wider planning, as well as being a leader who is willing to role up your sleeves and ‘do’.
We are particularly interested to hear from candidates who demonstrate most/all of the following attributes:
- A proven track record of personally delivering income of at least £1 million per year, including new business
- Experience in a fundraising leadership role and confidence in working alongside and advising at board level
- Experience in successfully fundraising from trusts, foundations, major donors and corporates, with experience in other areas (events, legacies etc.) also welcome
- Excellent proposal and donor communication writing skills (written samples of previous work will be requested)
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously with a largely virtual team
- Comfortable acting in the capacity of charity ambassador, establishing new relationships and identifying new funding opportunities
- Ability to travel to occasional donor and board meetings (x3 per year), in/around London and annual trip to South Africa for 1-2 weeks.

Our Strategy Enablement directorate brings together five core enabling support functions - Finance, Tech & Data, Governance, Planning and Property and HR Delivery, where this particular role sits. The Noah’s Ark Charity supports the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales in providing world-class care, helping to ensure the best outcome and experience possible for children and their families.
Having raised more than £30 million to build and equip the hospital, today we continue to work hand in hand with the NHS, providing funding for the most up-to-date equipment and facilities. We also fund services like the play specialist team and emotional support for families.

The geographical region will cover anything west of Bridgend and up to Aberystwyth.
This is a new role within the Noah’s Ark Charity, which will grow our regional community fundraising presence and offering. The postholder will know the West Wales area well and will become the expert in fundraising opportunities within the region, building strong relationships within the community, including low-mid level corporates and will develop supporter-led activity. The postholder will plan for and deliver income for the charity within the region, in line with wider fundraising strategy.
We are seeking an individual with a strong background in corporate relationships to lead on a portfolio of significant, strategic partners on a maternity cover contract.
The Corporate Partnerships Manager will be joining an established and successful team, playing a vital role in developing the sustainable growth of income through our incredible partnership network within the rail industry. The role will seek out opportunities within rail to assist the fundraising team to achieve growth in both income and donor base. The right candidate will have a proven track record of developing new business opportunities and stewarding accounts to maximum potential.
