An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated professional interested in working in a thriving and successful Development team. We are seeking an individual who has the skills and determination to help support the University’s trust and foundation fundraising and enjoys working as part of a happy and vibrant in-house/remote team. 

Working to support the Senior Development Manager, Trusts and Foundations; the Development Officer, Trusts and Foundations will help to deliver the trust and foundation fundraising strategy. The post-holder will work alongside Development colleagues to identify funding opportunities both in the UK and internationally. The post-holder will have responsibility for securing significant new funds to support the strategic priorities of our £300 million fundraising campaign which covers a wide range of areas. This work will focus particularly on proposals for four and five figure gifts.

The post-holder will assist the Senior Development Manager, Trusts and Foundations, in cultivating currently engaged and new trusts, foundations and charities. They will work with the Senior Development Assistant (Research) to grow the pipeline of giving through research into suitable trusts and foundations whose aims are closely aligned with the strategic priorities of the University.

The post-holder will have experience of trust and foundation fundraising accompanied by a sound knowledge of university fundraising. They will be a creative and strategic thinker and possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work proactively, both internally and externally. This role will require knowledge of trust and foundation funders, excellent written communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.

Above all, the post-holder must be passionate about the role that philanthropy plays in supporting higher education for the benefit of society as a whole.

Contract type

The Ministry Department aims to serve and renew lay and ordained ministry throughout the Church of England. We do this by providing advice and support to vocational enquirers, ordinands, curates, lay ministers, leaders at every level, dioceses, and theological colleges.

The team works at a national level to provide the stewardship of resources, the development of policy, and the expertise, guidance and leadership needed to sustain the ministry of the Church of England and to ensure its growth and flourishing. We oversee the discernment, formation and deployment of ordained ministers, ensuring the Church is well-equipped to serve God in living out its mission for many generations to come.

We support dioceses to develop proactive plans to grow vocations to ministry, by convening networks of practitioners, sharing good practices, ensuring proper resourcing and providing quality training for diocesan directors of ordinands and advisers.

We support and steer ministry and leadership development for the entire clergy and lay ministries life cycle, including clergy HR and senior leadership development.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Vocation Communications and Marketing Officer role is part of the National Communication Teams which sits with the National Development.

Your major responsibility is to engage, inspire, and influence all sectors of the Church to foster a vocational culture in which all persons, regardless of age or background, are encouraged and assisted in considering the entire variety of ministerial vocations for themselves and others.

You will mainly be responsible for:

1. Developing, delivering and leading a marketing, communications and engagement strategy; this requires the post holder to have excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with all stakeholders at a national, diocesan and local level clearly and concisely

About the role: 

As the Senior Communications and Content Executive covering maternity leave you would be responsible for writing and creating engaging communications and marketing content for the Charity's internal and external audiences..

Purpose of role

The main duties of the role

To deliver the IntoUniversity programme effectively to children and young people in different settings, including schools-based workshops, Academic Support sessions and educational visits. This includes positive behaviour management and adherence to the IntoUniversity safeguarding policy.

• To assist with the organisation and delivery of the Academic Support, FOCUS and Mentoring Programmes.
• To assist the IntoUniversity Centre Leader in liaising with schools and other partner bodies, in organising the classroom and resources and in planning project delivery. 
• To update and maintain IntoUniversity displays, publicity and resources.

Carers Manchester South (CMS) brings together three organisations: Manchester Carers Forum, Lifted and Together Dementia Support. The work of the team is focussed specifically on South Manchester. Richmond AID is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person who can lead our multidisciplinary team Inclusion Team. The team currently has 6 direct reports and services include: BuddyUp, Spade gardening service, Mental Health Peer Support service, Connect to Tech digital training, Campaigning and peer group activities. 

There is a variety of skills and experience within the team which will require someone to use a flexible management approach, directing support to where it is needed most. We are looking for someone to not just manage these services, but to lead their development and widen our coverage across the borough of Richmond. This will predominantly involve supporting the people involved to be leaders of their own projects, improving delivery models, ensuring projects meet targets and quality standards. Working under the direction, guidance and support of the Deputy Supported Lodgings Manager and the Greater Manchester Prevention Team you will be responsible for young people needing longer term placements, as well as sharing responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all hosts and staff at the service.

Key responsibilities include:

• To be the first point of contact for young people and referral partners wanting to access the Supported Lodgings service.

• You will lead on the assessment of needs and risk, predominantly focused on suitable risk management plans for the safeguarding, matching and placement of young people in the homes of hosts

• Arrange all aspects of a young person’s stay with a host, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported, taking into account the support needs of individuals.

For over thirty years we have tackled some of the most complex and controversial bioethical issues facing society. We are funded jointly by the Nuffield Foundation, Wellcome and the Medical Research Council.

We aim to inform policy and public debate through timely consideration of the ethical questions raised by biological and medical research so that the benefits to society are realised in a way that is consistent with public values. Our work has led to shifts in public understanding and policy change on topics ranging from assisted reproduction and genome editing to managing the disagreements that arise in the care of critically ill children. 

Central to our reputation and standing is our independence – we do not represent any  particular group or view and we select our own topics, methodologies and outputs. 

We select topics to examine through our horizon scanning programme and use a variety of approaches to identify, consider and resolve the ethical issues they raise. Our approach is multidisciplinary and deliberative. We draw on a wide range of expertise and experience and use the best available evidence.

We collaborate where our expertise complements those of other organisations (e.g. see our current collaboration on Genomics and AI Futures with the Ada Lovelace Institute). 

We engage with a wide range of different voices and views and are committed to increasing the diversity of the people we work with. As part of the Nuffield Foundation, we are a small team with the practical support of an established organisation that cares for its employees.
