Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker and Deputy Team Manager to join our Support Team. The successful candidate will lead by example, ensuring the highest quality of service delivery in line with Baca's vision, mission, and values. Key Responsibilities:

Personal Specification:
Baca is looking for someone who can be a positive role model in establishing holistic and therapeutic services for young refugees. The role requires an enhanced DBS check and the ability to travel across the UK, including overnight stays.

The Team:
The Global Safeguarding Team work together with business delivery units to manage and mitigate safeguarding risks across the organisation.
This role is specifically focused to support the Cultural Engagement (CE) business unit and has a dotted line to the Cultural Engagement Operations team. CE brings together our work in arts, education, English & School Education and research. The Role:
As Safeguarding Manager, you will lead the implementation of the British Council safeguarding framework and resources across all Cultural Engagement programme delivery and ensure practice is aligned with the global Safeguarding policy and strategy.
As part of this, you will lead the development of fit for purpose resources that can be practically and usefully embedded within the Cultural engagement project/programme lifecycle.
The role is to provide proactive safeguarding advice, consultation and as required, direction and assistance across Cultural Engagement global delivery, ensuring that British Council Safeguarding policies, procedures, tools/resources and protocols are appropriately embedded and adhered to within all activities and programmes.

Accountabilities:
As part of promoting safeguarding the role holder will be required to:
- Embed and manage the overall framework and resources which provide guidance and support for CE programme managers so that they can confidently use them across the programme lifecycle
- Ensure safeguarding due diligence as per requirements of the FCDO – with special referenced to PSEAH – Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment
- Embed safeguarding into programme design and bids to clients.
- Initiate and deliver programmes safely by reducing risk and assisting with the management of any incidents in a professional way linked to agreed global safeguarding risk thresholds.
- Close programmes and conduct lessons learnt to inform new programme design.
- Manage and lead a safeguarding community of practice of experienced programme managers who support the development and maintenance of the safeguarding framework and resources to ensure it responds to the various needs of different sectors, clients and geographies.
- Provide support and advice to a wide range of Cultural Engagement stakeholders, including regional/country portfolio and program and safeguarding leads, as required in relation to British Council activity and risk management, ensuring Safeguarding requirements are understood, measure compliance, share best practice; ensure alignment of approaches and where appropriate co-ordinate messaging in line with the wider corporate and global safeguarding team.
- Based on the British Council global safeguarding case management policy, provide support and guidance to global cultural engagement staff to report and manage incident-based risks.
There will also be collaboration with an extended team consisting of Cultural Engagement teams covering Risk, Internal Communications, Media, Employee Relations and Reward, Contract Management and Legal.
Requirements of the role:
• Experience of working in an international development context and in an international (matrix) organization
• A sound knowledge of international safeguarding standards and service delivery within statutory and non-statutory settings
• Experience of creating, managing and implementing safeguarding frameworks and tools for project and programme management

South East London Mind has been delivering a young person’s counselling service to students at Southwark College for several years.
As a Young People’s Counsellor, you’ll provide an age-appropriate counselling service that allows the students to explore their mental health and wellbeing, along with the socioeconomic factors that impact this. You’ll manage a caseload of students, triaging new clients to the service, coordinating the waiting list and capturing data and outcome measures on a CRM database.
We are looking for someone with a professionally-recognised diploma or equivalent in Counselling or Psychotherapy who has experience of providing counselling to young people aged 14 upwards. As you’ll be working closely with pastoral staff on-site, an ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.
The role will involve:
- Offering age-appropriate counselling sessions, including assessments and risk assessments
- Working with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure that students are triaged and the relevant level of care and support is offered
- Record keeping: maintaining up-to-date records of work undertaken, including session notes, service records and Views CRM database records
- Contributing to quarterly monitoring reports, including reflections on key themes and issues experienced by students, case studies, and outcome measurement tools
- Liaising where appropriate with other SEL Mind staff, school/college staff or agencies including local statutory and voluntary sector professionals and organisations
- Attendance at regular supervisions with the Head of Services and meeting with other Young People’s Counsellors to keep abreast of key issues and needs across the service

Skills and Competencies
Our ideal candidate would have the following:

Proven experience in digital acquisition for charity or social cause, or in paid digital marketing or advertising in commercial roles. With demonstrable campaign management experience and expertise setting up and managing campaigns in Meta business suite, Google paid advertising and email marketing.

One Full Time Fixed Term Funding Officer up to 31 December 2026 to be part of our Eastern Team which covers the following Council areas: Belfast, Lisburn and Castlereagh and Antrim and Newtownabbey. The Eastern Team is led by a Funding Manager and is comprised of six other Funding Officers. Your role will be to work across all of these council areas as needed to support the demands of our funding programmes. Location: You will work mainly from home, and community locations in the Eastern area. The role will also involve travel to the Belfast office (on average once every week).
3. One Full Time Permanent Funding Officer to work in our Northern Ireland Dormant Assets team, led by a Funding Manager, with one other Funding Officer working exclusively on Dormant funding. It sits within the wider NI Funding team (circa 20 people), some of whom also work on Dormant programmes. Your role will be to ensure Dormant Assets funding supports a wide variety of VCSE organisations across Northern Ireland. Dormant Funds are not National Lottery money, but funds released by financial institutions.
Location: You’ll work mainly from home and community locations and will be required to attend The National Lottery Community Fund offices in Belfast when necessary (on average one day per week).
The roles are varied and involve assessment of applications, grant management and engagement with key stakeholders. You will use your local knowledge and experience to support our assessment and decision making. By working closely with people and communities you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.
You will be required to:
- Assess applications across our funding programmes
- Manage your own caseload of grants which will involve liaising with grant holders, visiting projects, identifying and managing risks, and supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.
- Understand and respond to the different needs of the community, our applicants and grant holders
- Provide advice and feedback and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations.
- Represent the Fund by engaging with key stakeholders, including potential applicants, network support agencies, Council staff, and by attending funding fairs and external meetings.
