The Action on Disability Employment Service is setting the agenda for disability employment across London with great results. We have carved out a role, and reputation, for setting up and delivering supported internships for people with learning disabilities. We provide management, job coaching and employer engagement for over 50 young people with learning disabilities each year across our 6 internship sites.
We are looking to recruit a number of job coaches to support interns and graduates of these programs in their jobs.
Background
Action on Disability is the supported employment service partner on a number of supported internships for young people with learning disabilities around West and South London. They are looking to recruit a number of job coaches to support interns and graduates of these programs in their jobs.
The Post
The purpose of the job is to provide coaching, support and guidance to young people with learning disabilities (17+) within their workplaces. You will support interns/graduates to become independent in their roles and provide the necessary coaching, training and encouragement to enable them to succeed. You will work closely with the employer to ensure they are supported and can confidently manage and train their intern/employee once your support has been withdrawn.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To carry out a detailed job analysis of potential jobs / work placements
- To carry out detailed job matching of service users and jobs
- To comprehensively learn jobs across different sectors – not restricted to but potentially including – Catering, Customer Service, Administration, IT and Retail
- To implement training/coaching plans which will enable the candidates to fulfil their roles to employer standards
- To conduct regular reviews to ensure candidates are progressing within their roles and to identify and meet new support needs
- To build up natural support within employers and taper off one 1:1 job coaching over time
- To negotiate and implement disability-related reasonable adjustments on an individual basis
- To identify client’s skills, strengths, interests and aspirations to inform an ongoing vocational profile
- To liaise with managers to discuss progress and respond to issues

The Governance and Risk Officer (GRO) will provide support to the Head of Governance & Risk by providing administrative and organisational support in all areas of governance and risk by implementing and maintaining risk assurance activities, including the corporate risk registers, policy management, contract review and internal audit delivery.

Purpose
The Marketing Assistant is a varied role, working primarily in our Supporter Relations team, but also supporting other areas of the Fundraising and Communications team.
The primary focus of this position is to provide an excellent customer experience for CBM supporters so that every interaction is carried out with excellence, integrity and efficiency. This will help to create and be part of a supporter experience that develops and maintains long-term relationships with dedicated individuals and churches across the UK. The Marketing Assistant will ensure supporters feel valued and engaged with CBMs work.
On a day-to-day basis the position holder will be engaging with supporters by phone, email and writing, in responding to a wide range of enquiries, and carrying out administrative activities associated with marketing campaigns, donations, fundraising events and requests for materials.
The successful applicant requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as confidence to make outbound phone calls to build relationships, thank supporters, to share updates on our work, and ask for donations to build relationships, grow supporter engagement and maximise long-term income.
The position is part of a dedicated and enthusiastic Fundraising and Communications team, and part of this role is to provide additional administrative support to the wider team, specifically in areas such as 121 supporter communications to fundraisers doing events, churches, and legacy and in memoriam supporters.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inbound enquiries (40%)
Respond to the needs of CBM supporters and the public through the handling of inbound calls and emails in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
This includes:
a. Taking and processing donations over the telephone.
b. Handling requests, feedback and complaints in a respectful and timely manner, and offering solutions when appropriate.
c. Updating supporter records on the Customer Relationship Management system (currently Salesforce) and carrying out mail or email follow-up when required.
d. Responding to emails in the giving inbox, directing queries appropriately and maintaining organised records of communication.
e. Co-ordinating and responding to comments made on CBM’s social media platforms.
2. Outbound 121 communications (30%):
Carry out outbound calls to potential and existing supporters to inspire donations and explain over the telephone how support will transform lives, following set briefs and guidelines, but when applicable engaging supporters in conversation in a non-scripted approach. This includes:
a. Regular outbound calls and emails include thanking and stewardship communications, asking for support by Direct Debit, clarifying Gift Aid statuses, and discussing the possibility of supporting the charity in a Will.
b. Update the outcome of calls on supporter records on the CRM system.
c. Process donations made over the phone, carrying out mail or email follow-up when required, using existing materials and letter templates.
d. Refer follow up actions that are outside of the team’s remit to the relevant team or individual.
e. Contribute to the creation and development of guidelines for in- and out-bound telephone conversations.
3. Additional administrative duties (30%):
Perform a variety of other administrative tasks to support the wider fundraising team:
a. Data inputting, preparation and reports.
b. Updating and proofing fundraising materials.
c. Supporting speaker and church coordination when required.
d. Co-ordinating the stock and the distribution of supporter materials and fundraiser resources.
e. Mailing out church packs, thank you letters, and personalised communications, such as handwritten cards.
f. Liaise with colleagues and attend meetings to ensure up-to-date knowledge of CBM’s work.
g. Help develop a culture of enthusiasm and success, which reflects the ambitions of CBM.

The young people you support will have chosen to access low intensity CBT in their initial assessment- whether that be through our self referral route (Someone to Talk To Drop in) or our professional referral route ‘YOUnited’.
This is primarily a hub- based role. You will need to be able to travel easily to our Peterborough and Huntington hubs as these will be your primary locations. There will be times you are expected to also represent the team in other parts of the county.

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence across England and Wales. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding out what works and working for change.
Key Responsibilities
Your role is to ensure YEF’s funding is directed toward the most crucial gaps in evidence – those that, if filled, will lead to meaningful change for young people. You will oversee the selection of the most promising, evaluable interventions to test in England and Wales, ensure trials are set up successfully, and work with our Evaluation team to deliver high-quality impact evaluations.
More specifically, you will:
Provide team and organisational leadership
• Provide inspirational leadership to the Programmes Team of ten people, ensuring they are best-in-class at supporting delivery organisations to engage in robust evaluation.
• Oversee the Programmes team, including direct line management of four Programme & Impact Leads.
• Ensure the expertise within the Programmes Team is embedded in YEF’s wider work, drawing on the team’s experience of working with delivery organisations to help shape policy and practice recommendations.
• Represent YEF externally, ensuring our funding programmes are well understood and aligned with our sectors’ needs.
• Directly contribute to annual and multi-year planning as part of YEF’s operational planning cycle.
• Be responsible for tracking and reporting progress against our key organisational performance metrics.
• Help build and model a culture where it is natural to perform well, and colleagues support one another to do so.
Hold strategic oversight of new evaluation commissioning
• Work with the Assistant Director of Evaluation to shape and implement YEF’s strategy for programme and evaluation commissioning.
• Oversee the team in identifying and developing proposals for new trials within our main sectors.
• Assess the feasibility and strategic value of evaluation proposals, making stop/go decisions on their progression.
• Ensure the Programmes Team effectively supports grantees to work with evaluators to co-design interventions and develop clear, robust plans for trial setup and delivery.
• Oversee the development of high-quality proposals for new trials, assuring quality and presenting clear recommendations for our Grants and Evaluation Committee.
Be responsible for the ongoing oversight of the full portfolio of evaluations
• Lead and be accountable for delivering on YEF’s Race Equity commitments within our funding decisions and grant delivery.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for a portfolio of c.50 live trials, maintaining oversight of progress across our portfolio of live trials and intervening early when we spot risks.
• Oversee the financial management of the team’s project portfolio across c.50 live trials, ensuring effective budget oversight, approving grant payments, and maintaining financial accountability.
• Provide direct advice and guidance to the Programmes Team on the setup and delivery of our most complex trials.
• Ensure the rapid mobilisation of new trials following approval.
Build meaningful partnerships and strengthen the organisation’s influence
• Be responsible for partnership opportunities with central Government—holding key relationships, assessing the strategic value of co-funded evaluation projects, and overseeing Heads of Evaluation to negotiate new partnerships terms.
• Steward strategic relationships with other key stakeholders, including other research and policy organisations, funders, and delivery organisations that will help us influence change.
• Represent the Fund on boards, committees and events, including providing up-to-date information to external audiences on YEF-funded activity, and sitting on the board of external organisations linked to YEF’s work.
• Be proactive in identifying co-funding opportunities and ensuring fundraising targets are met for new and existing evaluations.

• You have a graduate qualification, or equivalent work experience: Your qualification or experience is in a relevant field such as social science, social policy, public health, or another field with a significant quantitative component.
• You have some understanding of systems and practice in our priority sectors: Our priority sectors: Children's Services, Education, Health, Neighbourhoods, Policing, Youth Justice, and the Youth Sector.
• You are experienced in building partnerships: You have a strong track record of building partnerships that drive change.
• You are an excellent communicator: You produce high-quality documents that communicate methodological and statistical information in a way that is easily understood. You excel at translating complex evidence and analysis into clear, accessible formats for non-experts.

Hybrid Working
The office is based in Central London. Those living in and around London are expected to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. If you live outside of London and work remotely, you’ll be expected to work from the London office 2 days per month. About the Bid Manager and Write Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bid Manager and Writer to join our dynamic Bid Team within the Development, Marketing, and Communications Department. This role is critical to driving our growth, securing new opportunities, and retaining existing contracts.
In this hands on role, you will hit the ground running, using your previous experience and knowledge to gather information and will utilise this to write competitive bids and proposals which can help secure new opportunities for the growth of our charity. SIG is a complex, growing organisation, supporting those with various complex needs in residential and non residential settings. Our Business Development team are vital in securing new and existing contracts to grow the services that we can offer to our residents and participants.
You will lead on competitive tendering processes, crafting high-quality bids and proposals that align with our mission and values. You will take ownership of the end-to-end bid process, from market engagement to submission, ensuring compliance and quality at every stage. You will work closely with senior directors, commissioners, and internal stakeholders to develop compelling submissions that meet financial targets and organisational goals. You will work independently but also part of the wider bid team, collaborating with subject matter experts as required.
Overview of key responsibilities:
- Lead on the development and submission of competitive bids, ensuring they are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
- Collaborate with senior directors and internal teams to secure approvals and budgets for bids.
- Produce high-quality, engaging proposals that clearly articulate SIG’s vision, services, and value to commissioners and funders.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and commissioners.
- Conduct market research and stay informed about trends in social care, healthcare, and procurement to inform bid strategies.
- Work closely with the Bid Coordinator to draft, review, and finalise submissions.
- Attend market engagement events, service visits, and approval meetings to gain insights and represent SIG.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in bid and proposal writing and management, with a track record of securing new contracts and retaining existing ones.
- Exceptional writing and proofreading skills
- A keen eye for attention to detail
- Ability to produce high-quality, engaging content.
- Ideally, we would love someone who has experience within securing bids and proposals within the voluntary, social care, or healthcare sector.
- A good understanding of social care, healthcare, or procurement, with the ability to translate complex needs into compelling bids.
- Confidence in liaising with senior stakeholders, including directors and commissioners, and leading approval meetings.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using tender portals.
- A self-motivated, proactive individual who can take ownership of bids and drive them to successful completion.
