Job purpose: To undertake safety focused support work with the partners and ex-partners of clients who have been mandated to attend the domestic abuse prevention programme. To liaise with the Drive Partnership Triage team, actively contribute to risk management procedures and team working. 

The Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO) is a civil order that was legislated for in the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, the aim of which is to provide longer-term protection to victims of domestic abuse. DAPOs can be applied for in all court jurisdictions by the victim, police or a third party.

DAPOs can impose both prohibitions and positive requirements on perpetrators. Positive requirements can be in the form of interventions aimed at reducing and managing risk, mandated by Court to address issues or needs related to factors that are not the causation of abuse but impact on risk. These could include engaging with Mental Health services, Substance Misuse services or attending a Perpetrator-Focused Domestic Abuse behaviour change programme. 

Our involvement:
As a key local partner TLC: Talk, Listen, Change supported Greater Manchester Police’s application to be part of the pilot and we are now commissioned by the Drive Partnership to enhance our existing locally commissioned voluntary perpetrator behaviour change programmes as part of the DAPO pilot. We are seeking to expand our existing Domestic Abuse Prevention Team to support the pilot. The Home Office are funding a two year pilot which will be tested and evaluated in order to prepare for national roll out in 2026. 

Key Responsibilities:

Client Work

• To ensure that clients whose partners have been mandated to attend a Domestic Abuse Prevention programme are contacted and offered support and information about their rights and other sources of support and advice
• To provide telephone support, advice and referrals to other agencies, to the (ex-) partners of the clients on the domestic abuse prevention programme
• To conduct face-to-face support, advice and safety planning sessions
• To provide advocacy on behalf of clients with external agencies where appropriate
• To liaise with other agencies as appropriate, attending core group and case conferences as required
• To take part in casework and risk review meetings with other team workers about client’s participation and issues from work with partners, to ensure that partners and children's safety remains at the forefront of the work.
• To assist in presentations or workshops about the DAPO* Pilot
• To provide day-to-day support, advice and back-up to other workers and/or volunteers.

Administration 

• To undertake outcome monitoring and evaluation questionnaires using the Domestic Abuse Prevention Programme service outcomes framework
• To provide assistance in producing statistical and other reports on work done to meet the requirements of funders and the Board of Trustees and co-operating in the on-going evaluation of TLC: Talk Listen Change.
• To maintain appropriate client records, keeping accurate client notes and making use of TLC: Talk, Listen, Change’s case management system. 

Other

• To work across multiple delivery sites, main sites to be agreed upon job offer with occasional cover necessary across Greater Manchester. 
• To participate in developing policy, strategies, and working practices of TLC: Talk Listen Change by attending meetings and giving feedback as appropriate to others doing this work.
• To conduct all work in a way that reflects the aims and principles of TLC, Talk Listen Change in particular TLC, Talk Listen Change policies on Equal Opportunities and Confidentiality.
• To keep up to date with domestic abuse issues and participate in relevant training as required.
• To undertake other duties as reasonably requested.

Eligibility for the role

• Have completed an undergraduate degree to a 2.2 or higher.

What will my main dutires be?

To lead the staff team at the centre, generating a positive and inclusive working environment and ethos and ensuring that the team are well motivated, are managing their workloads effectively, and are providing a high quality service.

You will initially be involved in the set up of this brand new centre, including developing local school relationships and we anticipate that delivery of the IntoUniversity programmes will begin in the 2024 summer term.

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team providing tailored support to clients with multiple and complex needs, including mental health challenges, substance use, offending behaviour, and physical health issues. Using a Biopsychosocial model and working within a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE), you will deliver high-quality, holistic support to help clients achieve stability and move forward in their lives.

• Providing personalised support to clients with multiple disadvantage, including poly-substance misuse, mental health concerns, and histories of trauma.
• Conducting needs and risk assessments, and work collaboratively to develop and implement support plans.
• Promoting harm minimisation and recovery, enabling clients to set and work towards their own goals.
• Supporting clients to develop life skills, manage relationships, build social networks, and access external services and community resources.
• Facilitating group activities and structured interventions as part of our in-house recovery programme.

As an intermediary organization, the programming we are able to carry out depends directly on the funding we can raise. Thus, resource mobilization is integral to our approach in supporting human rights movements around the world. As the Fund for Global Human Rights’ income has grown year on year, so has its portion of funding from restricted and complex grants, including from some bilateral donors and the European Union. By establishing strong government partnerships and securing essential funding, we aim to amplify our impact and advance our mission in more than 40 countries around the world where we support grantee partners and human rights movement building. 

The Role: This is an exciting new position for a highly motivated, organized, and analytical individual with the opportunity to make a real difference in a growing organization. As our Government Fundraising Specialist, you will be at the forefront of implementing our government fundraising strategy. This role involves a blend of research, advocacy, strategic proposal development, and guidance on contractual and donor compliance. You will join a dynamic, hard-working team responsible for securing 90% of the organization's revenue. Your work will focus on a new two-pronged approach: targeting governments at both the capital and local embassy levels in the regions where we operate our grantmaking programs, with the goal of making this revenue stream a significant component of our organizational budget in the coming years. You will not be starting from scratch, as we currently have secured government funding, as well as numerous relationships with governments that can be leveraged. And you will work in partnership with many colleagues across departments who will contribute to the success of this role.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Organizational Preparation: Help prepare the organization for success in securing new government funding by developing internal systems, processes, and workflows necessary for effective engagement and management.
• Strategy Development: Contribute to refining and enhancing the government fundraising strategy to align with organizational goals and emerging opportunities.
• Research & Identification: Explore international cooperation trends and the government donor landscape and identify promising funding opportunities.
• Partnerships: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with other organizations to extend our reach and impact.
• Bid Leadership: Oversee the internal bid process, crafting compelling proposals, coordinating cross-departmental efforts, and ensuring timely submissions.
• Policy Analysis: Review and analyze government policy papers to guide strategic funding approaches and inform bids.
• Advocacy: Advocate for our cause within government circles to boost our visibility and secure essential support and help prepare the organization to participate in multi-lateral spaces, organizing side meetings, developing talking points, etc.
• Networking: Build relationships with stakeholders in the philanthropic and international development sectors, including donors, peers, INGOs, and UN agencies to explore areas of collaboration. 
• Thought Leadership: Contribute to influential thought leadership pieces to position our organization as a key partner of choice in the sector.
• Compliance: Communicate with internal stakeholders to help ensure strict adherence to all relevant regulations and reporting requirements for government funding.
• Management & Evaluation: Help prepare the project management team to effectively manage a grant by helping to strengthen, and where needed develop, tools and processes to gather necessary information and evaluate the impact of our government grants.

Skills for Success: To excel in this role, you will need:

• Expertise: At least 7 years of experience in fundraising for international human rights, social justice and/or development cooperation, with a proven track record of securing funding from government donors through both relationship building and competitive bids.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of the government donor landscape and grant processes.
• Compliance Savvy: Strong grasp of compliance requirements related to government grants and experience in working with internal colleagues to prepare organizations to meet these requirements.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Proven leadership skills combined with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Communication: Exceptional writing, research, and communication abilities.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret complex government policy papers and funding opportunities.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English, and proficiency in Spanish, French, Arabic or another language a bonus, but not essential.

•Deliver a focused HR service to provide strategic direction and leadership to support the organisation-wide HR planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the overall organisational objectives are achieved.

•Facilitate professional and systematic communication and cooperation between the different parts of the IRW family to ensure maximum impact of the organisation’s work.

The successful candidate must have or be:

•CIPD membership at Chartered or Fellow level or equivalent experience

•Sound understanding of UK employment law is essential

•Proven experience of HR business partnering and substantial skills and experience of HR management at a senior level within in a large organisation

One of our key objectives at Sportily is to develop and invest in young sports leaders. Over the past 18 months we’ve designed a pilot programme to enable this and trialled elements of it. We’re now looking for someone to further develop, shape and own our programme, to work alongside our network of Sport and Faith Coaches to deliver it and to hold leadership level responsibility for seeing the wildly important goals of the programme realised within our wider vision.

At the heart of this role you’ll hold Leadership Team level responsibility for the programme which provides opportunities, within a Christian sports centred setting and framework, for children, young people and young adults (with a priority on the more disadvantaged) to gain skills, experience, training and qualifications to increase their self-esteem, confidence and future employment opportunities. This will include responsibility for its ongoing development, leading its delivery approaches, training the Sport and Faith Team in its delivery, exploring opportunities related to the programme, monitoring and evaluating its impact and reporting this to stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who loves sport and understands how sport and movement is able to connect people and is passionate about sharing the Christian faith in innovative ways beyond the walls of traditional church. You’ll have experience in developing programmes and monitoring their successful achievement of stated objectives, and of investing in the leadership development potential of young people, ideally in a sporting context.
