As a result of a successful application for funding from the national church, the Diocese of Southwark has launched the Southwark Diocesan Investment Programme (DIP) - a multifaceted, integrated and transformational programme designed to help resource and implement Southwark Vision and further mission, ministry and growth in parishes across the Diocese.
The DIP Research and Development Officer will be a member of the Diocesan Strategic Development Unit working specifically on researching and developing different workstreams for this exciting new progamme as it starts and also contribute to the existing strategic development funded projects coordinated through the Strategic Development Unit.

Key tasks and responsibilities
1. Programme management:
Provide effective programme management ensuring the Centre of Excellence operates at the highest standards, with strategic oversight of all workstreams, including stakeholder engagement, resource management, and performance monitoring.
• Leading the programme’s strategic planning and execution, ensuring that all workstreams—including budget management, timelines, and resource allocation—are closely aligned with overall objectives. Proactively address challenges to maintain programme momentum and achieve milestones effectively.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to support programme success. Facilitate effective communication and alignment across teams, partners, and member institutions, promoting active engagement and collaboration throughout all programme phases.
• Establishing and overseeing a robust framework for monitoring and evaluating programme performance, focusing on impact assessment and continuous improvement. Provide regular reports on outcomes and insights, manage risks to ensure programme goals are met, and utilise evaluation data to inform strategic adjustments that enhance programme effectiveness.
• Overseeing the marketing and communication activity to promote the programme, ensuring it is visible and well-positioned among key audiences and stakeholders. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns that highlight programme achievements, generate interest, and enhance engagement within the Centre of Excellence network and wider education and skills sector.
2. Network member Management:
Lead and execute a comprehensive member engagement strategy, driving value through targeted onboarding, recognition programmes, and an evolving account management framework to foster long-term member satisfaction and retention. Oversee tracking and analysis to inform strategic improvements and identify growth opportunities that align with the Centre of Excellence’s mission to expand impact.
• Developing and implementing a member engagement strategy, ensuring that institutions gain significant value from their involvement in the Centre of Excellence to include a recognition and awards programme to reward and celebrate members’ excellent practice and engagement with the Centre of Excellence.
• Providing strategic oversight to the enrolment and validation process for new members, ensuring that new institutions meet the Centre of Excellence’s standards, and work closely with the Network Member Manager to streamline onboarding, guaranteeing a positive initial experience that sets the stage for long-term involvement.
• Overseeing the tracking and evaluation of member engagement, using data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Provide regular updates on membership retention, engagement levels, and impact to leadership, and work with the Network Member Manager to develop strategies based on these insights.
• Identifying growth opportunities and enhancements to the programme offerings that can address emerging industry needs, supporting the Centre of Excellence’s mission and expanding its reach and impact.
3. Workforce Development:
The Senior Workforce Development Manager will lead a team of High Performance Skills Coaches to design, implement, and continuously improve a world-class teacher training programme. By incorporating global insights and innovative practices, this role ensures that the programme enhances teaching quality and raises educator capacity to deliver world-class education.
• Utilising insights from international benchmarking and emerging trends from global partners to incorporate cutting-edge methodologies and world-class standards into the teacher training programme.
• Leading a team of Skills Coaches to guide the development and delivery of high impact teacher training experiences, focusing on practical and solutions focussed strategies underpinned by international best practice that improve teaching, learning, and assessment.
• Overseeing the planning and scheduling of training activities to align with the academic calendar, ensuring that sessions are well-timed and accessible to educators throughout the year. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications teams to promote training opportunities, generate demand, and expand programme reach, actively engaging member institutions and their teaching staff.
• Establishing robust tracking and evaluation systems to monitor programme outcomes, using data to measure the effectiveness of training content and delivery. Analyse engagement and impact metrics to inform ongoing improvements, ensuring alignment with Centre of Excellence goals and maintaining the programme’s reputation for excellence.
4. General responsibilities for a Senior Manager

Reporting to the Public Engagement Manager, the Public Engagement Officer will work as part of a team to deliver our mission of meaningfully involving patients and the public across Academy activities and in the way we work.
You will collaborate with colleagues across the Academy, our Fellows and our grant awardees to help deliver projects that ensure the Academy connects with patients, carers and members of the public in new and accessible ways. We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Policy and Evidence to lead our policy, social research, and healthcare professional engagement activity to improve the lives of people affected by MS.
You'll provide leadership and strategic direction, ensuring the Policy and Evidence team has clear priorities and a proactive and impact-driven approach. Strong management and leadership skills are essential to this role.
Acting as a senior spokesperson for our policy and evidence work, you’ll need to be influential both internally and externally, including representing the MS Society at a range of external meetings with a variety of audiences.
You’ll play a crucial role championing the role of impactful evidence based decision making across the organisation and have substantial experience of supporting the development of issue-based influencing campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of securing policy change across a broad range of issues and influencing policy makers at a UK or national level.

The Evaluation Officer role is a specialist post created to support the management, development and implementation of evaluation programmes across Alzheimer’s Society. The Evaluation Officer role is a specialist post created to support the management, development and implementation of evaluation programmes across Alzheimer’s Society. The role is pivotal to promoting a culture of continuous improvement across all directorates. The post holder will support the Evaluation and Impact Team in the development and implementation of evaluation and impact measurement programmes for support services, influencing and research activities across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

They will connect with colleagues across the Society to understand areas of work and develop appropriate evaluation approaches, provide evaluation support and recommendations, report on and share findings.

- Proficient in Qualitative and Quantitative research approaches in social research

Duties:
- Developing and delivering Human Rights Act based rights training workshops and support sessions
- Analysing human rights law and development in cases and communicating the practical impact of these through outreach visits to local community sector

Person Specification:
Essential characteristics:
- Have at least two year’s experience of working in the charity sector, voluntary sector, or the public sector in a role with some similar role and functions
- Experience of developing and delivering outreach work to build the capacity of people to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to bring about social change
- Understanding of working in the charity sector, and in particular what it means to work for positive change whilst not being a campaign group
- Understanding of human rights law and practice and implications for diverse communities
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with a wide range of people
- Able to receive visitors and to deal with their queries, signposting to other agencies, where required
- Experienced in dealing with work of a confidential nature, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other regulatory requirements

Key Responsibilities
To work closely with the Evidence & Advocacy Manager (EAM) to develop and implement a series of impactful evidence and research projects that support our advocacy messaging, as well as internal and external learning for inclusive programmes and advisory work. These projects will build on established workstreams alongside developing new ones to maintain and extend CBM UK’s evidence base.
Disability Evidence, Policy Research and Learning
With EAM support the ongoing CBM UK Research and Evidence workstream, through:
1. Translating evidence from our programming countries and projects to produce and contribute to a range of resources to influence FCDO and other stakeholders. Tasks to include managing and maintaining established outputs, such as the CBM UK Project Evidence Briefs and Disability Voices paper series, generating new thematic papers, as well as policy and position papers to enhance effective advocacy submissions, briefing notes, blogs and other messaging on key disability rights issues.
2. Working collaboratively within CBM UK and across CBM Global to help develop and to deliver new policy research, drawing on mixed methods and data sources including national and international databases, using qualitative approaches including participatory or citizen generated data, and new empirical work.
3. Supporting Programme staff to improve impact and learning practice in CBM UK funded projects, provide technical support for the implementation of programme related research and data collection, including MEAL.
4. Providing technical research support into the development of proposals for new grant funded projects, and, where successful, support the management of subsequent research projects.
5. Keeping abreast of new research and publications on key themes and priority concerns within the CBM UK Advocacy and Influencing Strategy, taking into consideration sector trends and developments, and ensure this is disseminated to relevant staff within the CBM UK Team.
6. Keeping watch on UK policy environment and conducting research and analysis to support CBM UK advocacy messaging on disability and human rights.
Dissemination and Communications
1. Maintaining and developing internal knowledge management systems for research and information on disability inclusion and rights, and related areas, to be used by Advocacy, Programmes and Fundraising & Communications teams.
2. Ensuring communication plans are developed with CBM UK and Global Federation colleagues for CBM UK evidence outputs.
3. Maintaining the Advocacy and Influencing pages of the CBM UK website ensuring rights-based communication and focus to support CBM UK and Global campaigns.
4. Liaison with Fundraising & Communications colleagues to amplify media stories, case studies and compelling evidence from country programming for advocacy purposes.
5. Participation in and building good relationships with UK-based disability and development networks, including relevant research networks and membership of the BOND Disability and Development Group.
6. Supporting the professional publication and printing of CBM UK outputs, for dissemination at advocacy engagements and public events.
