Shine’s Health Team 

Shine’s Health Team provides condition-specific health advice and support to people of all ages with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, NPH or IIH, promoting good self-management and enabling our members to live in optimum health.  The Team also aims to reduce the numbers of pregnancies affected by spina bifida and anencephaly through education around supplementation and fortification with folic acid, and other measures. 

Purpose of Job 

The Shine Nurse Specialist will deliver services and create resources to improve the health of Shine’s members, by informing members, their carers and professionals 

Principal Duties 

• To provide ad hoc advice to Shine’s members, their carers  and professionals on complex health issues, and signpost to NHS services 

• To attend and represent Shine at the Chelsea & Westminster Spina Bifida Clinic (for permanent role)

• To collect information, statistics and research from a variety of sources to inform Shine’s health projects 

• To create resources to inform and support members’ health 

• To develop training/information resources for professionals 

• To plan and deliver projects, events, presentations and information sessions for members and professionals 

• To provide an information resource for Shine staff 

• To form and engage with networks of health professionals 

• To represent Shine at events and meetings 

• To work closely with the Health Research & Information Coordinator to produce and disseminate health information to Shine members and the general public 

Skills and Experience 

Essential 

• Professional/Registered Health Qualification, for example:

  • Adult Nursing 

  • Paediatric Nursing 

  • Registered General Nurse 

• Experience of searching scientific and medical literature, collating information and writing reports 

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal 

• Ability to work effectively alone and as part of a team 

• Ability to plan and deliver projects 

• Good presentation skills 

Desirable 

• Knowledge of the physical aspects of spina bifida and hydrocephalus

About this job

In this role you will be providing emotional support and information to people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) that empowers them to; live to their full potential, take an active role in their treatment and secure the care and support they need. As part of the helpline team you will also contribute to the overall implementation of the teams objectives and successfully embedding new services.

Our helpline is open 9am – 7pm and therefore this role includes working a shift pattern of 9-5, 10-6, 11-7 or as the service demands.

Please note this is a fixed term 12-months maternity cover contract. This role is full time, part-time hours (28 hours +) will be considered.

The role: 

As an Anti Social Behaviour Officer at SNG you'll be responsible for the delivery of a responsive and proactive service to our residents to tackle all forms of hate crime, nuisance and anti-social behaviour. Working alongside housing management colleagues, you'll effectively manage your caseload and take forward the highest priority cases. You'll also make and maintain effective working relationships with external agencies, including the police and legal advisors.

In this role you will be working in the Dorset area with occasional case work across Hampshire, Wiltshire and Devon. 

Responsibilities include:

• Proactively managing a complex caseload whilst seeking creative solutions to achieve positive outcomes for customers

The role
With responsibility for a small team of three, as Finance Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function, ensuring the accurate and efficient management of financial transactions, reporting, and compliance.

As Local Volunteering Attraction Coordinator, you'll play a key role in promoting volunteering and driving new volunteer applications to support and grow our services. Collaboration will be essential as you’ll be working closely with Communications colleagues to ensure best value from advertising partnerships and presence on Guide Dogs’ digital channels. About The Role

As a Community Builder, you will be at the heart of our Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, supporting the charity’s objective to enhance reach with a focus on enabling a positive impact for members of the armed forces community facing challenges. You will do this by creating sustainable, community-led solutions that enhance their well-being. You will identify strengths within local communities, foster meaningful connections, and utilise this to create new networks and drive positive change.

Working closely with Community Development Managers across regions within the UK, you will create opportunities for members of the Armed Forces community and their families to re-engage with Help for Heroes and their local community.

About You

You will have experience of working alongside communities to create the conditions for community-led change, ideally with experience of Asset-Based Community Development. You will have good organisational skills, energy and the ability to listen, build relationships, and inspire collaboration which will be essential in creating positive, lasting change.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach to celebrate community strengths and foster engagement.
• Develop and embed an ABCD-informed way of working.
• Identify ‘Connectors’ across the community and provide opportunities for them to come together regularly to exchange learning and map community assets. • A Community Development qualification and/or at least 3 years' experience in community development or a similar role with transferable skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships that drive action.
• Experience working within an integrated multi-disciplinary service.
• A track record of successful collaboration with partners and stakeholders.

PLEASE NOTE:

• The successful candidate will need to be based within an hour’s commute of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel within a 75-mile radius of this location (travel expenses covered). The successful candidate must possess a valid full UK driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes.
• The successful candidate will work 35 hours a week over 5 days, including evening and weekend work as required by the company. Flexibility in working hours is necessary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a 2-week period so please take this into consideration before applying.

You will be part of a newly formed Community Development team, dedicated to embedding Asset-Based Community Development. We will amplify the strengths already present in communities, forging lasting partnerships and initiatives that empower the Armed Forces community to thrive. About this job

We’re seeking a skilled Purchase Ledger with a passion for accuracy and efficiency to manage the processing and payment of invoices, credit notes, expenses, and other payments through our purchase ledger system. In this vital role, you’ll handle a high volume of transactions using Compleat purchase ordering software and our accounting system (currently Dynamics GP, likely to transition to Microsoft Business Central soon).

You’ll be responsible for ensuring all invoices and expenses are legitimate, accurately matched, and approved in line with our policies and procedures. Acting as the primary contact for suppliers, (including managing the accounts payable mailbox) you’ll ensure that all queries are dealt with promptly and efficiently and that the turnaround between receipt and payment of invoices is in line with what has been agreed with the supplier. You’ll ensure payments are processed on time and prepare bulk BACS payment runs, reconcile supplier statements, and assist with verifying supplier details.
