The Good Food Institute Europe (GFI Europe) is at the forefront of the movement to transform meat production in order to solve some of the world’s biggest problems, from climate change and global hunger, to antibiotic resistance and animal suffering.
We work with scientists, businesses and policymakers to make sustainable proteins like plant-based and cultivated meat (grown directly from cells) delicious, affordable and accessible. We are at an exciting stage in our growth and are looking for a Donor Engagement Officer to support GFI’s fundraising efforts across Europe.
How you will make a difference
The work of GFI is powered by philanthropy. Reporting to our Philanthropy Manager, you will be responsible for translating the incredible work of GFI Europe’s programmatic teams into inspiring, engaging stewardship touch-points for our donors. You will bring creativity and data-driven insights to this role. The stewardship touch-points you deliver will support the work of our whole development team and inspire donors at all levels. You will also maintain and upgrade the support of leadership giving level (€2,000-€25,000 p.a.) donors in your own portfolio.
Your work will include:
- Delivering GFI Europe’s existing stewardship strategy (e.g. a mid-year impact update, end-of-year blog, virtual events, and gift anniversary emails).
- Enhancing GFI Europe’s stewardship strategy to maintain and improve donor retention at all gift levels, by researching and recommending creative and effective stewardship ideas (e.g. videos, digital stewardship platforms, events), suggesting improvements to existing processes, materials and resources, and implementing these changes.
- Building strong, meaningful, long-term relationships with a portfolio of 20-30 leadership-giving level donors and prospects (individuals and some foundations) across Europe through face-to-face meetings, video and telephone calls, email and other channels, to acquire, retain and upgrade their support.
- Collating and crafting timely, understandable, concise, and interesting updates about high-impact news about GFI Europe’s work, tailored to different countries and cultures, that frontline fundraisers can share with donors and prospects to show how their support makes a difference and inspires further giving.
- Helping to provide GFI Europe’s input into global stewardship materials and events, such as the Year in Review by collecting and submitting impact stories and collaborating with global colleagues.
- Assisting other frontline fundraisers with stewardship reports, according to need and capacity.
- Ensuring accurate, timely and thorough correspondence, acknowledgement and record-keeping at all stages of the donor journey for donors in your portfolio. You will use our CRM system (Salesforce) to manage prospects and supporters, enter and track gifts, pull reports, and analyse data.

Who we’re looking for
We primarily hire for skills and potential rather than experience. The core skills and attributes needed to excel in the role are:

- A good understanding of the donor journey from identification through to solicitation and stewardship.
- Comprehension & communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, and the ability to understand a range of information (i.e. about alternative proteins, and GFI Europe’s science, policy and industry work) and translate it into compelling and persuasive messages for donors.
- Creative thinking: The ability to develop creative, innovative strategies and materials for engaging supporters.
- Project management: Experience in managing projects from conception to fruition.
- Initiative: a sense of ownership and responsibility to drive outcomes.
- Excellent people skills: building strong, collaborative and positive relationships, and working well with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple cultures.
- Attention to detail: ensuring accuracy of information, for example when using a CRM database to record and track interactions with donors and prospects.
- Tech savviness: Good level of IT literacy and a willingness to learn new software packages (training in Salesforce, Asana, and Google Suite will be provided).
- Integrity: A high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.

It would be an advantage to have some or all of the following attributes, but none of them are prerequisites, and we welcome applications from candidates without any or all of them:

- Experience in video editing and/or graphic design.
- A proven track record of securing philanthropic gifts via face-to-face, digital or telephone fundraising.

- A willingness to occasionally travel across Europe in pursuit of philanthropic opportunities.

Benefits and the fine print
- Terms of employment: Full-time (38 hours/week), flexible working hours, permanent.
- Location: We can consider applicants based in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain or the UK. This is a remote role, and you will be able to work from home, or we are happy to consider supporting costs for co-working to enable you to work from an office if you wish. The whole GFI Europe team aims to get together in person approximately twice per year for around 3-5 days at a time. Travel costs will be covered by GFI Europe within our travel policy.
- Salary and benefits: The salary and benefits package for all of our roles are researched and benchmarked based on similar nonprofit roles in the country/location of hire. Due to capacity, we cannot complete that research for every European country in advance, but approximate indicative ranges (total annual amounts received in gross salary plus benefits including home-working allowance) are likely to be:
- £36.000 – 39.600 if based in the UK.
- Right to work requirements: The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the country where they are based, and to be able to travel within the EU.

We’re seeking an Events Administrator to join our ambitious Support, Research and Influencing team.
You will play a vital role in our team to ensure health professionals across the UK have a better awareness and understanding of pancreatic cancer and the complex supportive care needs of those affected. You can be proud to know that you’re playing a part in these services which will ultimately improve the standard of support and care received by people affected by pancreatic cancer from their healthcare team.
Some of the main responsibilities are:
- Ensuring our data is accurate, up to date and well maintained within our database, by collating, preparing, and cleaning up a high-volume of data from our events, online courses, and other engagement activities.
- Provide administration of our virtual educational events and online courses to support the success and smooth delivery, and to increase understanding and awareness of pancreatic cancer.
- Provide admin support to colleagues in Research, Influencing and Devolved Nations for in-person events focused on improving the standard of diagnosis, treatment, and care in pancreatic cancer.

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic team administrator to join our small, friendly and relaxed team at SCONUL, the professional association for academic and research libraries. The team currently works one to two days a week from our modern offices close to Euston station and the remainder of the week from home.
You will be responsible for providing administrative support across all aspects of the organisation’s work, including diary management, the organisation of meetings and supporting the delivery of the SCONUL Access Scheme. It’s a role that provides scope for autonomy and to become involved in the full range of the organisation’s work and to develop a broad set of skills.
We are looking with someone with relevant office or administration experience who is well organised and with strong communication and IT skills. The role would suit someone who is self-motivated, flexible and happy to take the initiative.

Job description
Reporting to the Deputy Director and working closely with the Project Manager and SCONUL Co-ordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Organising the schedule of meetings for the SCONUL Board and SCONUL working Groups.
- Managing the diary of the Executive Director.
- Supporting the delivery of the SCONUL Access Scheme including:
- answering routine queries from Access Scheme users, applicants and university administrators
- providing SCONUL Access contacts with timely and relevant information about the scheme
- providing routine technical support to applicants and university contacts responsible for processing applications and refer potentially more complex or disruptive technical problems
- drafting changes to website content to reflect the scheme’s current practice and procedures.
- Supporting the delivery of SCONUL events including:
- drafting and following up invitations to speakers and other participants with support from the Project Manager
- managing and processing events registrations
- booking accommodation and travel arrangements when required
- production of event documentation
- helping to manage events on site, including briefing and managing colleagues, volunteers, and external suppliers, supporting, advising and directing event participants.
- Processing invoices and other office paperwork.
- Answering general queries from members and students phoned into the office.
- Uploading content onto the SCONUL website and helping keep the content up to date.
Skills and experience required

Programme Overview
The Refugee Employability Programme is a new initiative that offers enhanced support to defined cohorts of legally recognised refugees in the UK. Starting in September 2023, the programme will provide tailored support for each participant focussed on gaining sustainable employment. Palladium will work with employers, local government, and other community partners to ensure that individuals are fully supported with their journey back to employment and integration into UK society. The programme includes delivery of employability- focussed English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) tuition for some of the defined cohorts.

Primary Duties and responsibilities:
As Case Manager, you will be responsible for delivering the front-line support to customers on the Home Office Refugee Employability Programme, ensuring that they receive excellent service which is compliant with all Home Office requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Take responsibility for engaging with potential customers, explaining eligibility and bringing in referrals to the programme as part of a coordinated team approach.
· Be accountable for your caseload of assigned customers and working with them to address their learning, integration and employment needs in line with both contractual requirements and the individual’s needs. This will include:
o Building rapport and a positive working relationship with each customer.
o Assessing the customer’s starting position to decide how to best meet their needs.
o Creating and following through with individual Personal Development Plans, ensuring appropriate and effective activity is undertaken by each customer.
o Providing challenge, advice, and guidance where appropriate, to develop customers’ capability in the recruitment process ensuring they have the necessary skills and confidence to secure employment.

Location and compensation
You will primarily working on an outreach basis within the community and you will be given a base location. Any travel to meet customers outside the base location will be reimbursed in line with the travel policy.

HELPING STUDENTS GET FURTHER
One in three students leave school each year without a pass in GCSE English and maths - this rises to over one in two for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Without GCSEs in English and maths, these young people are significantly more likely to drop out of education and are locked out of key professions, apprenticeships, and university courses.
Get Further exists to change this. Our charity has an award-winning tuition programme that helps students from disadvantaged backgrounds in further education to pass GCSEs in English or maths. We place highly qualified, specialist English and maths tutors in further education, who deliver a bespoke curriculum that builds confidence and skills in these core subjects.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As a Programme Coordinator, you will work directly with Programme Managers to build and manage positive relationships, respond to and resolve queries and act as the first point of contact across our three main stakeholder groups: students, tutors, and college staff.
The key outcomes for this role are:
Students: Across the academic year you will be responsible for a portfolio of up to 300 students, ensuring that they maintain engagement with tutoring and that all available spaces on your programmes are filled.
Tutors: You will lead the task management of tutors who deliver to the students in your portfolio, ensuring that the tutors deliver high-quality tutoring to small groups of students and that attendance to sessions is consistently high.
College staff: You will build relationships with staff across colleges in your portfolio, to ensure logistics are smooth, programmes are launched effectively and on time, and that we maintain regular communication and reporting with our college partners on programme delivery.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Coordination
- Planning and preparation for each programme within your portfolio of college partnerships, ensuring that programmes are launched on time and with smooth logistics.
- Timetabling sessions, matching tutors based in your region to available sessions in your portfolio and recording timetables in shift scheduling software (Shiftbase).
- Managing data, keeping up-to-date records, and monitoring attendance and completion of baseline and final assessment and survey data through our CRM system (Salesforce).
- Prioritising safeguarding and the safety of the young people we work with, including following every element of safeguarding policy without fail.
Communication and Marketing
- Promoting the tuition programme to students onsite across the college campuses in your portfolio, ensuring that all available spaces (up to 300) are filled across the duration of the programme.
- Developing new approaches to maximise student engagement with tutoring, identifying quickly what the most effective strategies are for the students who attend the colleges in your portfolio.
- Ensuring effective, regular communication with the tutors who deliver to students in your portfolio, including responding to queries in a timely manner, and signposting tutors to additional development opportunities within Get Further
Relationship-building
- Working closely with college staff, to ensure that our tuition programme runs effectively. This includes programme preparations, particularly on logistics, ensuring that plans are in place to ensure that rooms have been identified for tutoring, that tutors are able to access these rooms, and that resources are available onsite.
- Maintaining effective working relationships with key college staff, keeping them up to date on programme developments, and reporting to them on attendance and impact on a regular basis.
- Supporting timely data collection on our delivery and impact from our FE partners and producing impact reports for each partnership in your portfolio.
Task Management
- Overseeing the successful delivery of tasks that Lead Tutors are responsible for, including monitoring their progress against attendance call KPIs, and providing them with support to ensure attendance to tuition sessions is consistently high across your portfolio of colleges. From time to time, you may be required to assist with the delivery of attendance calls to students, providing extra capacity to ensure that engagement with tuition is sustained for the duration of the programme.
- Holding regular touch-point meetings with your Lead Tutors to ensure that they are on track a
- Maintaining high standards across the delivery of tuition in your portfolio, carrying out session observations and providing feedback to tutors.
Championing Get Further
- Working closely with the wider Get Further Team to ensure that we achieve our charity’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Ensuring accuracy in your record keeping and data input, so that Get Further can effectively report and evaluate its programmes to achieve positive system change for students in further education.
- Representing Get Further's vision and values at external events and meetings with stakeholders.

The Role
This is an exciting role within a critical area of FILE, building our evidence base on impact and using it to support learning with a range of stakeholders. The Impact & Learning team at FILE is responsible for generating evidence and learning, enabling FILE and its partners to be as impactful as possible.
As a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Specialist, you will be part of a small and integrated team providing support across a broad portfolio of work.
This involves collating and analysing data, creating and facilitating learning processes within FILE and with our funded partners, and ensuring evidence and insights are fed back into our strategies and those of our partners.
This team works closely with all functions across the wider organisation.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform tasks related to the collection and analysis of data as well as learning from evidence regarding FILE’s activities. This position will primarily focus on supporting four key areas:
- Monitoring: enabling and supporting the collection of robust and consistent data from partners to support their progress towards impact
- Data management: partner data collation and verification from different data sources
- Donor and Board reporting: preparation and presentation of data and evidence for our donors and board to demonstrate our progress towards impact

ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for a Research Coordinator to join us at NUM to support our Sex Workers Evaluate Reporting Violence (SWERV) research project!
SWERV is a research initiative between health researchers at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and National Ugly Mugs (NUM), in collaboration with Brunel University. Together, with the meaningful involvement of sex workers across the UK, we will evaluate how membership and engagement with NUM services affects sex workers’ safety, mental health and wellbeing.
About NUM:
National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is an award-winning charity with a mission to ‘end all forms of violence against sex workers.’ NUM provides a mechanism for sex industry workers to report crimes and harm they experience and share this information within their communities to warn others of potentially dangerous individuals and situations.
We have a dedicated casework team of industry experts who support sex workers to further access criminal justice remedies and other services as determined by victims/survivors to cope and recover from crimes they experience in the ways they choose. We also host a range of other projects in racial justice, mental health, drop-in support (Scotland), and vocational exploration.
About the project:
The SWERV project is a multi-year research collaboration between NUM and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. We will study how NUM’s alerts, the NUMchecker, reporting and casework (‘interventions’) affect sex workers’ safety and mental health, through five work packages A-E. We will interview sex workers who have and who haven’t used NUM, and service providers, about their views and experiences of NUM’s services, to understand who benefits from the interventions, how and why (‘qualitative process evaluation’ – work package B). We will ask new NUM members, and sex workers who aren’t members, to fill in a questionnaire twice, six months apart. The questionnaire will ask about violence, safety strategies, and mental health, to compare the experiences of sex workers who do and don’t use the alerts and the NUMchecker (‘impact evaluation’ – work package C). We will estimate value for money, by calculating how much the interventions cost to run and comparing this to no intervention, in terms of preventing violence against sex workers and improving their quality of life (‘economic evaluation’ – work package D). We will use the information to understand how NUM’s services work in different places and for different people, depending on their circumstances and the wider environment. We will take the ‘DEPTH’ approach which involves ‘dialogue’ workshops with sex workers and practitioners to design the research and recommendations together (work packages A and E). Together, we will use what we learn to recommend how to improve community-based violence prevention and survivor support services ‘by and for’ sex workers.
Person Specification
A successful candidate should:
· Have demonstrable experience and understanding of sex work, sex worker rights and self-determination, and be in good standing with the sex worker rights and sex work research communities in the UK
· Have a clear understanding of how intersecting factors including criminalisation, stigma, systemic racism, gender, disability, poverty, mental health and access to resources influence sex workers’ lived experiences, how they may engage with services and research, and their access to public services and police protection
· Be familiar with all aspects of the charity sector, the work of National Ugly Mugs and other sex worker-serving and sex worker-led organisations.
· Have knowledge of systemic racism as it operates within the UK and be embedded within an anti-racist and anti-oppressive framework, whether this be through previous work, activism or personal life experiences
· Have experience leading or coordinating projects and a comfortability with qualitative and/or quantitative data collection (e.g. surveys, interviews, focus groups) and management, including participant recruitment.
· Have experience of organising and/or delivering events/workshops/outputs to share research/practice with communities and seek their input/feedback
· Have commitment to participatory research principles

JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
We are looking to recruit an exceptional Area Manager to provide direction and leadership to support the continued modernization and growth our retail operations. The Area Manager will support a passionate and committed retail team to deliver profit, promote fundraising and support eye health and public awareness. They will ensure that the business is run in a robust, transparent, compliant and efficient way in line with our values – whilst contributing expertise and energy to the wider charity.

Role Responsibilities:
Strategy, planning and growth
· Track progress against plans and budgets, and support shop teams to adapt, phase and prioritise work where appropriate.
· Ensure that broad and long-term thinking is brought to decision making and avoid reactionary behaviour, whilst capitalising on arising opportunities.
· Support the delivery of a five-year Retail Strategy (2024 – 2028), to include:
o The professionalisation of our systems and processes to capitalise on all income opportunities.
o Putting a positive customer experience at the heart of our approach.
o Delivering income upwards of £2.5m per annum with year-on-year growth to £10.6m by 2028/29.
o Deliver Gift Aid targets across all shops.
o Assist the Retail Development Manager in launching new shops.
o Utilise digital and social media to drive footfall and stock donations.
o Support fundraising through the shops, including legacy and IG marketing.
o Tailor each shop in the portfolio to maximise the potential of its unique location and its role in the business – including exploration of clearance, vintage, furniture and books.
o Create a framework of retail standards of excellence and ensure shops are managed and maintained to those standards.
Sales and Profit
- Monitor and be accountable for sales and category performance, as well as ensure that the team are aware of and engaged in the area financial performance
- Foster a creative and entrepreneurial environment where team members seek to maximise income in new and innovative ways both within their shops and through a variety of channels, such as community events
- Drive the team to maximise income from Gift Aid on donated products
- Ensure that all financial procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely fashion by the shop teams
Shop Floor
- Ensure sourcing sufficient levels of donated stock locally in collaboration with the shop management and Retail Partnerships team
- Ensure compliance with efficient and commercially successful stock processing systems (such as pricing, quality standards, consumer safety, stock density and culling stock), including backroom systems and ensure these are adhered to by the volunteer team. Ensure that all legal and internal regulations regarding donated stock are adhered to
- Inspire the team to provide a great customer and donor experience, which enables us to attract new supporters every day. Ensure that feedback, including complaints are escalated to the Director of Retail within the agreed timeframes
- Empower the team to work in partnership with the Visual Merchandising Manager to create original, appropriate and commercially successful visual merchandising displays, including shop windows
- Make sure that all procedures for the sale of new and donated corporate products are followed by the volunteer team
- Work with the Director of Retail to ensure our shops are in good condition, maximise their potential and are fit for purpose
- Provide a safe and healthy working environment and ensure that all team members are aware of and operate within our health and safety policies and procedures, including waste management and customer safety
Leadership – Volunteers
- Support the Volunteer Manager and shop management teams to recruit, induct, and retain an inclusive and diverse volunteer team, which is large enough in numbers and capable to maximise income and profitability and guarantee the smooth running of the area.
- Maintain an empowered, well trained, motivated and engaged volunteer team with excellent levels of communication at team and individual level.
· Define and develop our retail volunteer programme to ensure first rate volunteer experience, engagement, and great customer experience.
- Connect the volunteer team with our work and help them to understand the value of their contribution.
Leadership - Paid Staff
· Support members of the charity retail team to embed a high performing, motivated, collaborative, creative and dynamic culture – and seek opportunities to celebrate success
· Provide line management, leadership and growth opportunities to the Shop Management team.
· Support new starters with comprehensive induction and training.
- Ensure effective training, development and performance management of paid staff

Business Development Manager
35 hours per week
£36,000 PA
3% contributory pension

The post-holder will be based at Headway Surrey’s centre, at Headway House, 21 North Road, Guildford, GU2 9PU. Occasional remote working may be offered either permanently or ad hoc with the CEO's prior agreement.
3 months probation
On the job training will be provided at all times to help develop your skills and knowledge.
After successful completion of probation, the post holder will be required to undertake a self-study Brain Tree Training Course, called Cognitive Rehabilitation for Professionals which will be paid for by Headway Surrey. Assignments, exercises, and self-tests are included throughout the coursework—some of which are mailed or emailed to a course tutor for feedback. Headway Surrey will provide 2 hours a week paid study time. The course should be completed within 6-12 weeks.
Training on Headway Surrey’s CRM database, Charitylog will be given.
A clean driving licence must be held. Car mileage allowance for travel to meetings in connection with work
JOB PURPOSE:
The main purpose of the role is to:
- Be part of Senior Management Team (SMT), attending weekly SMT meetings.
- Lead the development of an income generation strategy and the development, implementation and monitoring of income generation plan, including all fundraising initiatives, grant applications and other initiatives.
- Work with the Services Manager to obtain metrics on existing services and Finance Manager for costings and make recommendations to CEO to continue, modify or stop services.
- Work closely with the Services Manager to develop new services, including detailed market strategies and pricing plans. Obtain funding to implement new services.
- Develop Marketing & Communications Plan; implementation, collateral, brand, generate and nurture leads.
- Identify new prospects and collaborations and implement.
- Oversee social media and website activities
- Networking and build external relationships, to benefit key strands of income generation, client referral and volunteer support
- Manage hospital Link Worker and connected volunteers.
- Development of Fundraising Plan; development of all fundraising initiatives and grant applications; implementation and monitoring of grant applications and fundraising initiatives. Liaise with freelance fundraiser.
- Produce, monitor and review performance metrics and income for use with fundraising and marketing.
- Deputise for CEO as and when required

Experience:
- Proven track record of success in business development, sales, fundraising and marketing.
- Proven track record for generating revenue through new business development.
- Proven track record of managing fundraising staff and volunteers to securing funding.
- Experience of writing and implementing Fundraising, Marketing and Communication Plans.
- Experience of building effective and productive relationships with a range of stakeholders, preferably spanning the voluntary, corporate and statutory sectors.
- Successful track record of staff and resource management experience in delivery objectives.
