Summary of Role:
The Head of Donor Development & Impact is crucial in driving Choose Love's strategic and financial growth and impact. Choose Love has a fundraising target of approx. £20 million a year, this role plays a crucial part in securing those funds through donor development (approximately £5-10m) and specifically with Trusts & Foundations. You will help Choose Love achieve its strategic objective to increase and diversify income by driving donor engagement, fostering sustainable partnerships, and enhancing our impact reporting to ensure transparency and accountability in our grant-making initiatives. You will oversee the development and implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Framework for the organisation, working across teams to ensure the impact is measured and recorded effectively, with continual learning. This role requires a strategic, data-driven professional with a strong understanding of humanitarian issues and a passion for advancing the welfare of forcibly displaced communities.

About the role
This is a brand-new role, as part of a five-year growth plan for fundraising. There's a real buzz and energy in the team, driven by a capital campaign that is building momentum and an exciting revenue-led fundraising strategy.
Corporate fundraising has been identified as an income stream with serious potential.
You'll take the lead on all corporate partnership activity, including identifying, developing, and converting opportunities. Your main input and contribution will be towards revenue appeals, with some input into current and future capital projects.
Seashell has laid solid foundations for corporate fundraising, so this role is about creating a meaningful step-change. Taking a well-established corporate volunteering programme and translating it into strategic income-generating opportunities, by developing a pipeline of corporate partnerships at five and six figures.

About the Role:
This role is crucial in the long-term retention and growth of our partnership revenue streams. The role requires strong interpersonal, negotiation, and project management skills to maintain and nurture mutually beneficial strategic alliances to enhance Urban Synergy’s capacity and reach. Who we are looking for:
Proven experience in a partnership development or similar role, preferable within the non-profit sector.
Bachelors’ Degree in Business, management, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Main Purpose of Job:
We are seeking an experienced fundraiser with excellent relationship management skills to help build resilient and profitable income streams for the Somerset Cricket Foundation (SCF) and extend the reach of the charity’s profile. This will include working with existing and new corporate relationships, individuals and Trusts & Foundations.
You will develop and use stewardship tools to guide donors and partnerships through their giving journey; including cultivation plans, proposals, and reports. You will be involved in sourcing and presenting tailored information, making appropriate financial and non-financial requests.
Main Responsibilities:
- Agree an annual high-value fundraising strategy for SCF, in collaboration with the Somerset Cricket Foundation Fundraising Committee and Managing Director.
- Take overall responsibility for the development, growth, and implementation high-value relationships.
- Develop and create new fundraising opportunities that raise the profile of SCF and attract new partners and donors.
- Nurture and maintain long-lasting positive relationships with corporate contacts and individual supporters to build a loyal supporter base.

- Promote the work of the SCF at networking events, through associated media and literature.

Senior Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships
The Senior Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships will lead fundraising, outreach, and engagement for the WRC at the level of both strategy and implementation. The WRC’s current annual budget is US$3.3 million, and we seek to grow this in line with our program strategy to roughly $5–6 million over the next two to three years.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to progressively increase annual revenue, including identifying, building relationships with, and securing new funding from foundations, other institutional funders, and individuals, as well as pursuing opportunities to expand relationships with current funders;
- Creating and implementing a framework for strategic external partnership communications, including working with the WRC’s global field team to convey the real-world impact of the WRC’s work and overseeing relevant enhancements to the WRC’s website and other communications pathways;
- Leading on grant writing and framing of external communications;
- Supporting the Executive Director and other colleagues to engage with, and ensure coherent messaging to, donors and other partners—including ensuring that the WRC participates in relevant conferences, convenings, and other discussions related to our organizational mission and objectives;
- Supervising the work of a second development professional who has day-to-day responsibility for grant management, grant reporting, implementation of sub-grantee/grantor arrangements, management of the organization’s small individual donor program, and who also assists with preparation of grant proposals;
- Monitoring progress on grant-funded projects through regular communication with program staff;
- Participating in the development of overall organizational strategy and aligning fundraising strategies accordingly; and
- Contributing to financial reporting and oversight.
This is a full-time position, available immediately. The position is hybrid for a successful candidate who resides in the Washington, DC-area or remote in the case of a candidate who resides elsewhere.
The WRC will consider candidates located within six hours of the US Eastern time zone. For international candidates and US candidates based outside of Washington, DC, the position requires periodic travel to Washington, DC, and possibly other countries in which the WRC works. The Senior Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships will report to the WRC’s Executive Director.
Qualifications
Candidates must have:
- A minimum of seven years’ experience in fundraising for nonprofit organizations and/or seven years’ combined experience with fundraising and strategic communications;
- A substantial track record of successfully cultivating institutional donors and proven experience in establishing new fundraising partnerships;
- Significant experience in communications and storytelling, with an ability to distill complex analysis and program work into communications that inspire and motivate our audiences;
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to initiate, build, and maintain working relationships with existing and potential grantors and a global team across numerous time zones;
- Strong budget management skills and experience delivering against financial targets;
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and rigorous attention to detail;
- Energy, enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and a sense of humor; and
- A commitment to workers’ rights and corporate accountability.
The following are desirable but not required:
- Experience with labor rights work; and
- Experience working in an international context.
Compensation
Compensation for this position is $115,000–$135,000 per year, depending on relevant experience (adjusted to the local currency, where applicable). The WRC provides its US staff, who are covered by a union contract, with an excellent benefits package, including 100% employer-paid family health insurance, including dental and vision care, with an additional flexible spending plan with employer contribution; 401(k) retirement plan with employer contribution; and five weeks paid vacation.

To manage the development of LE’s Aftercare programme to ensure its successful delivery against a range of desired outcomes for individuals, communities and our organisation. Our Aftercare programme is for adults, children and young people who have received Counselling from Listening Ear to help them cope with bereavement, separation & loss, domestic abuse and/or stress & anxiety. Our Aftercare beneficiaries benefit from ongoing support in a group context with support from experienced Counsellors. We run a number of Aftercare groups, all at different stages of development, and have recently been awarded funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for a period of just over four years. This will enable us to develop, evaluate and embed a more consistent Aftercare approach that is informed by our beneficiaries.
We are looking for an experienced Projects & Partnerships Manager, with a passion for providing effective services for people of all ages who face challenges with their mental health. You will work with our amazing team of Counsellors (who deliver the Aftercare groups) and with Aftercare beneficiaries and potential beneficiaries to plan, manage and evaluate an ongoing Aftercare programme, including positive activities. You will be responsible for managing a project budget of up to £30,000 per annum.
Job Purpose
- To gain a full understanding of the needs and interests of Aftercare beneficiaries (and potential beneficiaries) through regular consultation using a variety of methods.
- To work with our Aftercare delivery team to design a programme of positive activities that will help beneficiaries connect, take notice, keep learning, stay active and give (The Five Ways to Wellbeing). The programme will be informed by regular consultation with beneficiaries and will be delivered online and face to face dependent on the group.
- To research and identify appropriate external activity providers, supporting them to deliver high quality experiences that achieve outcomes against the Five Ways to Wellbeing and are safe, inclusive and appropriately resourced within budget.
- To ensure that all external providers, activities, venues and equipment are risk assessed and that appropriate mitigations are in place to manage and minimise risk.
- To ensure that all required materials and resources are purchased and posted to participants in advance of online activity sessions.
- To ensure that all Aftercare opportunities are communicated to potential beneficiaries in a timely and effective manner, maximising engagement and attendance through supportive reminders.
- To directly support the delivery of face-to-face Emotional Youth Club sessions, which take place on one Saturday of every month, usually in the Knowsley or St Helens areas, always involving a positive activity. You will do this alongside a team of two trained Counsellors and the selected Activity Provider.
- To work with colleagues in Operations to ensure the right systems are in place to monitor and evaluate our desired outputs and outcomes, using a CRM system (Lamplight) for which training will be provided.
- To ensure that Aftercare delivery staff understand and are fully recording the required monitoring and evaluation information.
- To convene a regular (monthly and later quarterly) Aftercare Project Team involving staff of LE, circulating agendas, distributing notes and actions and supporting their input as required.
- To communicate about the project internally, ensuring a high level of awareness of its benefits and working with Counsellor colleagues to ensure referrals to Aftercare groups increase and are consistent.
- Contribute to the vision, strategic planning and relevant policy development, for LE and actively participate as a member of the management team, supporting and working closely with the SMT.
- To work collaboratively with other Project and Partnership Leads within Listening Ear.
- To contribute significantly to biannual project reports for the National Lottery Community Fund, and quarterly Commissioner reports working with the Development Manager.
- To attend meetings with funders/Commissioners as required to give progress updates.
- To complete all administrative tasks relevant to the post.
- To manage the project budget, with support from the Finance and Development Teams.
