We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Programmes Manager to lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of our international programs. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with extensive programme management experience and a deep commitment to our mission.

The Senior Programmes Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our programmes are effectively designed and delivered, meet the needs of the communities and animals we serve, and align with our organizational strategy and donor expectations. 

Positioned within the Global Programmes Department the role will involve close collaboration across teams in both the Global Support Office and our implementing partners.

Responsibilities include: programme management, strategic planning & stakeholder engagement, budget management, monitoring & evaluation, cross-team collaboration. 

Contract, location and salary

This is a full-time (34.5 hours per week), permanent role. This is a remote position with regular attendance required at SPANA's London office. Job Purpose

To lead and manage regional fundraising initiatives around the UK, developing relationships with volunteers, donors, and community groups to maximise income generation and awareness. This role requires a combination of strategic oversight, operational support and hands-on engagement with volunteers and supporters across multiple regions. Ideally the National Fundraising Manager will be present at the charity’s office 1-2 days per week, with the rest of the time dedicated to travel across the UK in support of our extensive volunteer family.

Key responsibilities

Fundraising development

• Identify and cultivate new opportunities for national fundraising.
• Support volunteers with fundraising ideas, materials, and advice.
• Lead and manage the delivery of national fundraising events, from planning through to execution, ensuring they meet financial and engagement goals.

Volunteer and supporter engagement

• Visit volunteers and fundraising groups in designated regions across the UK to provide guidance, encouragement, and support.

• Deliver presentations and attend events to raise awareness about the charity’s mission.
• Ensure all regional volunteer groups are equipped with the tools, resources, and motivation to fundraise effectively.

Administration and reporting

• Provide regular updates and reports on regional fundraising performance.
• Monitor budgets for regional activities to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Person Specification

Experience

• 2 years minimum community fundraising experience or fast paced, target driven field sales environment with demonstrable transferrable skills.
• Experience working with, supporting, and managing volunteers, including providing guidance and fostering a positive and motivated team environment.
• Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering fundraising events, both small and large-scale, with a focus on community engagement.
• Experience in developing and nurturing relationships with donors, supporters, and community groups, ensuring ongoing engagement and support.
• Strong background in administrative tasks such as record-keeping, reporting, and using CRM systems to track donations and supporter engagement.
• Experience in a role that requires travel across a wide geographic area, with the ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
• Proven success in working towards and achieving fundraising targets, with a focus on both short-term and long-term objectives.

Role Responsibilities

● Support Head of Finance and Data in preparation of monthly management accounts,

variance analysis, and financial reports for executive leadership team and boards;

● Assist Head of Finance and Data in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans

• Offering tailored short-term 1 to 1 support to unpaid carers, working together to develop and implement plans to help improve carers’ experiences during the hospital stay, prepare for discharge and to address carers’ own needs.

The Stories Officer sits in the Marketing and Communications team and will focus on:

· Manage and update our centralised database of case studies, celebrities, and influencers, ensuring all stories across the charity are recorded for effective stewardship. Maintain storyteller profiles, contact details, permissions, and consent forms while ensuring GDPR compliance in data collection and storage.

· Collaborate with PR, fundraising, digital, and campaigning teams to integrate storytelling into their work, identify their needs, and match case studies or celebrities to relevant projects.

· Support the development and delivery of storytelling content across multiple platforms, including social media, website, press, and marketing materials, ensuring content meets accessibility standards.

· Manage multiple internal and external storyteller requests.

We're looking for someone with excellent science communication skills. You'll have the expertise and creative flair to produce accurate, inspiring, and relevant content and be able to communicate confidently with a wide variety of audiences. What will I be doing?

• Creating impactful scientific stories by seeking out and distilling complex scientific information into engaging content that can inspire our diverse audiences to support Cancer Research UK's mission.  

• Creating and delivering presentations, written summaries, video content, interactive activities and event experiences. This includes attending events across the country to deliver fundraising pitches, talks at supporter events, interactive experiences, and training and inspiring fundraising colleagues.

• Evaluating the impact that content is having, using this to inform new content and concepts and to improve ways of working. 

• Developing in-depth knowledge of Cancer Research UK's research portfolio and organisation priorities and keeping up to date with the latest developments. Using this knowledge to shape content ideas to maximise their impact, provide expert media opinion and ensure strategic goals are promoted.

What skills are we looking for?

• Excellent scientific knowledge essential. A higher degree (PhD or MSc) in biomedical or related field, or significant work experience in a scientific environment, desirable.  

• A passion for and proven experience in delivering bold and creative science communications to different audiences essential. 

• Demonstrable experience in collaborative project management and managing multiple stakeholders essential. 

• Enthusiasm and ability to keep up to date with the latest in cancer research essential.

Direct Marketing Manager-Retention at the Disasters Emergency Committee is pivotal when we launch an appeal. They will shape and deliver new and existing supporter journeys for the DEC’s individual, community and legacy donors, and lead a programme of improvement across all major contact points between the DEC and the public.

The purpose of the role is to:

• Contribute to and develop DEC direct marketing strategies, including the refreshing, implementation and analysis of the DEC’s segmentation, to maximise future income and continually improve the retention of individual supporters for future emergency appeals,
• Lead on the production of retention and reporting back materials for individual and community supporters,
• Manage the development and maintenance of specific supporter journeys,
• Develop and oversee the materials and supporter positioning for a light touch and mainly reactive legacy marketing programme for the DEC.

The role will deliver responsibilities for strategy and planning, fundraising, networking and building relationships. You must have strong direct marketing experience with a focus on high volume donor acquisition and demonstrable knowledge of direct marketing techniques such as direct mail, email, SMS and SMS content management systems.

A proven track record of developing effective digital and direct marketing strategies, which resulted in significant growth of income and retention of a charity’s individual supporters. Experience of managing complex budgets and proven ability to manage a complex operational plan within very short timeframes and within budget.

You must have excellent understanding of donor motivations, managing donor relationships, supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.

Ideally you will have experience of working in the international humanitarian aid sector, have excellent understanding of current trends within charity direct marketing and have used Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Google analytics.

An ability to work under extreme pressure during appeals and to very tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail is a key driver for success in this role.

You will join a collaborative team, department and organisation that excels in maximising their fundraising effort in response to disasters that keeps donors and recipients of funds updated and engaged throughout and beyond the journey of an appeal.

The Role

As Senior Fundraising Manager (Major Giving), you will lead the development and implementation of an ambitious new Major Giving strategy to secure and maximise funds from high-net-worth individuals. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors, developing tailored engagement strategies to inspire long-term support.

About the Role

As our Executive Assistant to the Global Director of Fundraising and the COO, you will play a crucial role in supporting our global leadership team. You will manage complex diaries, handle correspondence, assist with financial processes, coordinate travel, and arrange events and meetings, both at HQ and internationally. The Role:
The UK Policy and Advocacy Manager will lead Kaleidoscope Trust’s UK-focused policy and public affairs activities, in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives, and support, where appropriate, the wider work of the Policy and Public Affairs Team, including with external relations, communications, campaigns and events.

This role aims to:
▪ Provide the Secretariat function to support the co-chairs of the APPG for Global LGBT+ Rights to deliver the APPG’s strategy and work plan.
▪ Build and maintain relationships with government officials and the wider policy community across the UK, strategically deploying senior organisational staff or representing Kaleidoscope Trust and the APPG in external meetings and civil society forums as directed, and support delivery of events where such stakeholders are to be engaged.
▪ Identify and share insights into relevant emerging international political and policy trends helping to anticipate issues, risks and opportunities and translate these for relevant UK stakeholders.
▪ Draft insightful and compelling policy submissions, briefings and papers under the guidance of KT’s Head of Policy and Public Affairs.
