Our fundraising team bridges the journey of the animals in our care with the wider public, demonstrating how their contributions enable us to support every dog and cat. We now have several new roles within this team to further our mission.
This is a new role working across Battersea’s Income Generation department, in particular Philanthropy, Partnerships and Commercial (PP&C), to help drive income growth and maintain strong funder relationships.
As part of this role, you will work primarily on information gathering and management, and the creation of inspiring cases for support, funding propositions and impact reports. You will keep fundraisers informed of updates and progress in key projects and areas of work, supporting funder meetings by providing up to date information. You will also help us explore more creative ways of delivering cases for support, funding propositions and impact reports, so that we stand out from other organisations.

GiveOut is an award-winning international LGBTQI community foundation. Our mission is to bring together the LGBTQI community and allies to support global LGBTQI rights activism worldwide, building a world where LGBTQI people everywhere can live freely and fully.
Across the world, courageous activists are doing vital work to protect our communities and improve the lives of LGBTQI people. But they lack resources and funding is fragile, especially in the Global South and East. LGBTQI groups receive a tiny fraction of international development aid – just 4p in every £100 awarded by governments.
Our community and allies want to provide support, but it is not always easy to do so. GiveOut’s purpose is to help address this urgent need by providing a platform for our supporters to give tax efficiently in one place to fund LGBTQI human rights activism worldwide. We identify pioneering groups to support through a rigorous process of consultation, due diligence and vetting, guided by our Grant-making Advisory Panel and governed by our Board of Trustees.
We pool the donations we receive to provide grants to LGBTQI organisations around the world, ensuring they have more of the resources they need to defend our communities, tackle inequality and campaign for lasting change.
About the Role
Fundraising and philanthropic advocacy are at the heart of GiveOut’s work. As Senior Philanthropy Officer, you will be a key member of the Philanthropy team, implementing a vital part of our philanthropy programme as we deliver our growth strategy.
You will identify, engage, cultivate and steward major donors (high net worth individuals) and charitable foundations to secure high value gifts and grants, grow long term strategic relationships in support of the LGBTQI movement, grow GiveOut's network, and provide a top quality donor experience.
Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, you will support them on shaping and executing strategy and work planning, coordinating the donor database and leading on related internal processes, and deputising for the Head externally.
We are open to full time or part time (pro rata) at a minimum of 24 hours, or equivalent to 3 days per week. We are also open to flexible working arrangements to be discussed. Occasional evenings or weekends out of hours will be required, such as for networking or GiveOut hosted events, for which time off in lieu will be granted.

Essential Skills and Experience

The Head of High Value Fundraising is responsible for delivering and significantly growing income from Corporate Partnerships, Philanthropy and Trusts and Grants. Leadership

High Value Fundraising
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with high-value donors, ensuring effective solicitation, stewardship, and follow-up to secure significant contributions (six-figure gifts)
- Build and maintain a portfolio of Trust & Grants supporters. Responsible for researching, approaching and developing compelling applications with a focus on ensuring Trusts & Grants provide a long-term, diverse and sustainable income stream
- Lead the development and stewardship of the Philanthropy board to identify and secure transformational (6-7 figure) gifts and the development of the Business development Board to open opportunities with Corporate Partners
- Write and design a compelling case for support that is tailored to our High Value audiences

The Head of Business Development works closely with the CEO and has responsibility for all aspects of the development of BLCF’s business interests including long-term income growth, philanthropy, partnerships, communication and new business initiatives. Responsibilities
Work with the CEO and Head of Impact to develop plans and strategies to ensure quality services are delivered that meet organisational objectives and charitable articles to the highest standards.
As part of the Senior Leadership team, work with, advise, contribute, and respond to the CEO and Head of Impact and the partnership they create to ensure they are deliverable and adequately resourced and costed and deliverable.
Work with the CEO to set and implement Strategic Plan Delivery Plan targets and objectives and budgets to deliver them. Ensuring information is cascaded to all staff in their area and that staff connect to the Strategic Plan though their own workplans.
Core Role Delivery
Work with the CEO and under their direction to identify, develop and deliver new partnerships and to increase revenue and business growth that support the Foundations long term sustainability and long-term income targets. Basing new work on evidence of need as identified by the Head of Impact . This includes but not exclusively development of new flowthrough opportunities, endowment partners, legacy, corporates, social value and CSR initiatives and all aspects of business growth.
Provide support and advise to potential and existing partners about our work and proactively look to address inequality and fairer access to opportunities the Foundation offers.
Oversees the team and external contractors tasked with effective communication with our corporate and business partners to ensure it is a means to drive partnership and business growth.
Staff & Contract Management
Ensure an appropriate, effective staff, freelance and volunteer structure to deliver the services; recruit and manage staff & volunteers and resources to achieve required service response and quality.
Ensure all staff development and review processes are undertaken including induction, appraisal, and performance, in line with required processes. Resolve performance issues among staff and volunteers engaged in delivering services.
Performance Management
Working under the direction of the CEO develop, agree, and secure agree all partnership agreements and MOU that support the emerging partnerships and ensure they are in line with the Donor Care Plan specifications.
Working with the CEO and Finance, oversee and monitor all contract and partnership agreement terms with regards to agreed milestones and cashflow of fees and funds; anticipate problem areas and lead as necessary on mitigating action and ensure deliver of agreed targets.
Work to the Head of Impact to inform monitoring reports as required to ensure clear and transparent delivery of agree contracts.
Ensure appropriate levels of training are maintained and a good working understanding of the policies and procedures of the Foundation.
Contribute to the Quality Accreditation process to ensure highest standard of the foundation are achieved.
Relationship Management
Under the direction of the CEO develop and maintain proactive, collaborative and effective strategic relationships with corporate partners, commissioners, contract managers, business partners and funders to maximise the charity’s influence and ability to deliver quality services and grow it income and funding.
Manage the Bedfordshire & Luton Funder Network to maximise opportunities for support, collaboration, and information sharing.
Representing the Organisation
Maintain an excellent understanding of business and charity sector issues to better inform our work, ensuring information is cascaded to wider members of the team.
Represent the Foundation at Regional and National events.
Proactively develop and maintain an appropriate network of contacts in the grant making and business sectors.
Represent BLCF positively, working closely with the CEO promoting its current work and future development opportunities.
Provide proactive support to the CEO with other initiatives, where required.
Experience
Significant and demonstrable experience of partnership working and income generation and growth with a wide range of businesses, funders, Trusts, Local Authorities and the VCSE.
Clear understanding of the wider voluntary and charity sector (D).
Experience of working on delivery and negotiation of complex contracts and partnership agreements and range of successful funding applications to local and national funding initiatives.
Considerable experience of developing business initiatives to drive successful organisations in line with Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) priorities.
Experience in management and delivery of excellent communication campaigns, tools and teams (D).
Understanding of need in the Bedfordshire County (D).
Skills & Abilities
Excellent personnel and communication skills and able to work effectively within a team and with external partners and business contacts.
Excellent skill in processing information accurately and write succinct reports and agreements that’s show clear strategic alignments between partners and BLCF.

Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) is the dedicated NHS hospital charity for Cambridge University Hospitals, also fondly known locally as Addenbrooke’s. The Charity works to fund projects and facilities that are beyond the boundaries of the NHS to achieve the highest possible standards and outcomes in patient experience, clinical care, research and education - helping to find potential cures and save lives locally, nationally and worldwide.
Addenbrooke’s has embarked on a bold journey of transformation. As part of this, two brand-new hospitals will be built: the Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital and the Cambridge Children’s Hospital. These two specialist hospitals are being designed with patients at their heart and will combine first-class clinical expertise with world-class biomedical research to transform care for cancer patients and children regionally, nationally and internationally.
To make this vision a reality, ACT has embarked upon two ambitious multi-year, multi-million pound philanthropic campaigns to support the development of these two new hospitals. It is rare to have one project with an ambition of this kind, and so for two to be built at the same time, no stone must be left unturned and the Charity are looking for two ambitious new fundraisers who shares a passion for their cause, one with a focus on individual philanthropists and the other with a focus on strategic partnerships.
The role of Senior Philanthropy Lead is a critical one for the Charity, driving income from individuals with the capacity to give at the six and seven figure level. Reporting to the Co-Director of Philanthropy and managing two Philanthropy Leads, the postholder will take over a multi-million pound pipeline, whilst also driving new business. This role is fixed-term for two years.
The role of Senior Trusts & Strategic Partnerships Lead is a brand-new, permanent position and an essential one in helping to seek and grow significant philanthropic partnerships for the Charity. Reporting to the Co-Director of Philanthropy and managing a Trusts Lead, the postholder will refine and implement the fundraising strategy and develop a priority prospect list of trusts and grants.
In both cases, candidates will be a motivated and experienced fundraising professionals who can hit the ground running and lead by example. They will possess a track record in achieving complex major gifts, excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative and creative approach and the ability to inspire stakeholders at all levels.

Role overview
This is a new role within FILE, providing dedicated thought leadership internally and externally with respect to our land use and nature strategies. You will support our partners to accelerate a transition to sustainable food production, secure and enforce sustainable frameworks for extraction of transition minerals, and contribute to safeguarding key global ecosystems, including through enhancing and protecting the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities.
You will work closely with the Director of Program Strategy, Regional Directors, and other portfolio leads to ensure land use and nature strategies are developed and integrated throughout our funding portfolios. Externally, you will build and maintain relationships with some of the world’s leading climate and biodiversity lawyers and campaigners, as well as with aligned philanthropies.
Our land use and nature work mainly supports partners working on protecting habitats in biodiversity rich areas of Africa, South America and South East Asia, including by challenging harmful practices of corporations based in the Global North. Its scope may shift over time, including as the successful candidate refines our strategy going forwards.
We seek to protect the rights of, and support partnerships with, indigenous people and local communities. Key strategic outcomes pursued include confronting supply chains of major corporates that drive greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity loss, and violate the rights of local communities, and securing regulatory changes to drive finance towards cleaner, more equitable alternatives.
Key Responsibilities
Each of these is conducted in close collaboration with relevant colleagues across FILE’s strategy teams, as well as FILE’s Research, Impact, and Learning, Grant Management, and Philanthropic Partnerships teams:
- Lead the development of FILE’s land use and nature strategies, including a focus on legal and narrative and movement-building approaches, as well as on enhancing and protecting the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities
- These strategies will set out a well-considered approach to sectors and themes including exploitation of transition minerals, deforestation and biodiversity loss driven by industrial agriculture, addressing rights violations in global corporate supply chains, etc
- Work in close collaboration with strategy, grant making and fundraising leads within FILE to increase access to funding sources and the resilience of partners working in the field
- Developing, maintaining and convening external partnerships and networks with partners and practitioners working on and use and nature strategies
- Provide leadership to the wider philanthropic and donor community on the need for legal interventions in pursuit of FILE’s land use and nature strategy, and support fundraising for FILE as well as directly for our partners
Key Outcomes
- FILE has a well-considered land use and nature strategy, including a focus both on legal and related narrative and movement strategies, which is integrated throughout our funding portfolios
- Increased funding is made available to partner organisations working on land use and nature, via FILE or directly from other philanthropies
- FILE colleagues and external partners have a trusted thought partner and collaborator on developing and implementing land use and nature legal strategies
- Overseeing / establishing high quality convening(s), with support of FILE’s Convening Manager, and networks of civil society and relevant legal practitioners and peers working in this area, to catalyse innovation and strengthen connectivity
- An engaged group of funders, ready to deepen their support for our partners’ work on land use and nature strategies
About you

- An ability to strategically manage projects, including prioritisation and forwards planning
- An ability to work equitably and effectively with multiple perspectives and build trust with diverse partners, and understanding of funder positionality and responsibility.
- A willingness to travel from time to time (at least four times a year, more if working remotely) to meet FILE staff and partners
- An ability to work flexibly as part of a team spread across many time zones, which will involve some meetings outside of standard working hours
- A professional standard of written and spoken English
Desired criteria
- A current or past qualification / bar admission as a lawyer
- Experience of working as a lawyer on strategic litigation against governments, corporations, or financial institutions
- Demonstrated experience of building and / or maintaining external networks, bringing expert practitioners and / or civil society together
- Experience working with communities adversely affected by climate change, environmental harms, and/or related human rights violations, particularly in the Global South
- Existing relationships with NGOs, lawyers, and / or philanthropic partners working on relevant land use and nature strategies
- An ability to communicate with partners in other relevant languages, including Portuguese, French, Spanish, and Bahasa Indonesia, would be a bonus but not essential

The Foundation for International Law for the Environment (FILE) is a not-for-profit philanthropic organisation working to accelerate legal action on climate change.
Through grant-making and in-house legal expertise, we empower our partners to deliver strategic, innovative legal interventions and we support lawyers in their own countries to bring their own cases.

Brain Tumour Research is seeking an experienced Trusts, Corporate and HNW Prospect Research, to assist our Philanthropy and Partnerships team, to grow our income and paly an important part in securing funding for our vision to find a cure for all brain tumours.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a prospect pipeline providing Trusts and Corporate fundraisers and the Major Donor programme with the required number and level of prospects to meet the team's objectives and financial targets by using different tools to support you, including gift table.
- Carry out due diligence on donors and prospects to ensure donations are accepted in accordance with our Ethical and Major Giving Policy.
- Ensure the database is kept up to date with accurate and current information on prospects, contacts and ensure it is stored and archived accurately and in accordance with GDPR and Brain Tumour Research policies. Support the team’s up to date understanding of GDPR and consent recording on the database and associated processes.
- Proactively collaborate across teams to identify opportunities for prospecting, for example with Corporate, Trusts, Individual Giving and Events.
Requirements:
- Experience of researching high net worth individuals, company Directors, and/or family Trust and Foundations Boards identifying capacity, propensity and affinity to the cause.
- Ability to gather information from the public domain in accordance with GDPR, Data protection regulation, IoF and charity law.
- Experience of producing accurate, unbiased, concise snapshot research as well as more in-depth research profiles detailed reports, network mapping and analysis on donors and prospects.
- Knowledge and commitment to our aims, mission and values is desired.
- Strong understanding of due diligence, data protection and the latest GDPR and ICO updates is desired.

ShelterBox is entering an exciting phase of public fundraising investment. As we focus on improving our audience focus and scaling our evergreen acquisition, we need an agile, learning focused leader to head up this successful team. As Head of Supporter Engagement, you will lead the development and execution of our fundraising strategy across key disciplines, including Individual Giving (Retention and Acquisition), Legacies, Community Fundraising, and International Giving.
Through an audience-first mindset, optimised supporter journeys, and high-performing, integrated campaigns, you will drive growth in sustainable, unrestricted income. In moments of major disaster, you’ll maximise giving, ensuring our lifesaving aid gets to where it needs to be.

· Ensure a diverse and impactful portfolio of fundraising products, fostering innovation and optimisation.
· Oversee the rollout and optimisation of our Gifts in Wills strategy, embedding legacy giving as a fundamental part of our fundraising culture.
· Work collaboratively with the Digital Team to maximise digital channels for supporter engagement and acquisition, and scaling evergreen digital ad campaigns to boost income.
· Lead major disaster public fundraising appeals.
· Strengthen engagement and growth across our global affiliate network, and help shape the future of international giving.
· Work with the Community & Events Team to enhance our relationship-driven approach, building inspiring supporter journeys and compelling propositions, and maximising our work across Rotary Clubs and Districts.
· Partner with the Head of Fundraising Operations to identify system improvements that enhance our audience understanding to drive income growth and supporter experience.
· Use data and insights to drive strategic decision-making and performance optimisation.
· Work closely with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships to identify opportunities to collaborate and to feed a pipeline of high-level support.
· Lead and inspire a talented team, setting clear objectives and fostering a culture of excellence.
· Manage financial processes, budgeting, and reporting with precision and accountability.
· Represent ShelterBox as required and always work in line with our aims and values.
· Adapt to major disaster situations, occasionally working evenings and weekends at short notice.
