JOB PURPOSE:
 

• To coordinate support for children aged 2-5 with SEND at Springfield Park Road Nursery or Mini-Springers Nursery, working alongside nursery staff, parents and outside agencies to ensure the nursery provides high quality inclusive EYFS provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice and EYFS Framework.

·        To promote an ethos of inclusive practice within the nursery, high expectations for children with SEND and the best possible outcomes.

• To provide advice and support to Children’s Centre colleagues in relation to SEND.
• To provide advice and support to other staff within the Springfield Project in relation to SEND, including Seedlings Stay and Play. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

Lead the SEND provision for the nursery

·        Work with the nursery manager to regularly review the SEND policy and practice within the setting and agree how it will be implemented. 

·        Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the setting’s SEND policy, and for coordinating provision across the setting.

·        Implement SEN support and the graduated approach of: assess, plan, do, review to meet the outcomes identified for the child, including writing and reviewing SEN support plans as well as statutory paperwork, such as EHC needs assessment requests (with support from Area SENCO).

·        Apply for ISEY funding for individual children and ensure funding is implemented to support children effectively.

Support colleagues 

·        Ensure all practitioners in the setting understand: 

o   their responsibilities to children with SEN

o   how to work actively and effectively within the Assess Plan Do Review cycle.

·        Support individual practitioners in implementing the approach for individual children 

·        Identify and use training and other sources of support available to colleagues. 

·        Support the nursery manager and staff during inspections by regulatory bodies and assist in the implementation of any recommendations.

Partnership working

·        Make sure parents receive the information, advice and support that they need in order to participate in the SEN decision-making process.

·       Involve parents in the discussion of any early concerns, in identifying any SEN, and at all stages of the graduated approach. 

·        Ensure parents are closely involved and that their insights inform action taken by the setting. 

·        Work closely with the Area SENCO and other professionals from education, health and social care agencies as required, making referrals as needed.

·        Understand the Birmingham local offer.

·        Work alongside Springfield Children’s Centre in running a stay & play for children with SEND

·        Provide advice on SEND to Children’s Centre colleagues.

·        Provide advice on SEND to other Project staff and volunteers including Seedlings Stay and Play group and our Child Friendly Neighbourhood team. 

Continually develop own practice

• Reflect on own practice and undertake continuous professional development, including training related to SEND as well as attending relevant and mandatory training courses and maintaining appropriate Safeguarding and First Aid Certificates.
• Alongside the nursery manager, regularly evaluate the effectiveness of provision.

Other

• promote the Springfield project’s ethos, vision statement, and benefits.

What's the role about?

As part of the Scotland Leadership Team, the North Scotland Operations Director leads the RSPB’s place-based delivery, primarily across our nature reserves and within the RSPB’s Priority Landscapes where we are working to influence and support others to restore nature and inspire communities within some of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes.

This is a role for an exceptional director, with a team of approximately 150 staff and 500 volunteers, significant budget (£5M+), land based commercial operations, major project and risk accountability, and responsibility for restoring some of Scotland’s most threatened species & habitats.

The role covers four large Operational Areas which comprise the RSPB’s North Scotland Region, including the organisation's two largest nature reserves. The Operations Director line manages 4 Area Managers in the following operational areas:

1. Shetland & Northeast Scotland;
2. Orkney;
3. North Highland and Outer Hebrides, and
4. South Highland.

Other line reports are the Senior Programme Manager for the Scotland Peatland Programme, and the Inverness Office Manager.

Alongside the Operational Director role, the post holder also has overall responsibility for some of the RSPB’s largest and most high-profile projects and programmes, including the Orkney Native Wildlife project, the Scotland Peatland Programme, and Cairngorms Connect.

We’re looking for a talented director with experience of managing a diverse and dispersed operational portfolio. You’ll be someone who can build strong collaborations (both internally & externally), and you’ll be comfortable representing the RSPB to a range of audiences, from community groups to public agency executives and leaders alongside politicians and Government Ministers.

You should be confident to make decisions and be able to balance risk and opportunity. An understanding of - and an ability to operate within - governance, finance and risk frameworks is also a key part of the role. A background in nature conservation isn’t necessary, but you’ll be passionate about our mission and joining the movement to end the nature & climate emergency.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Educated to degree level or relevant high-level experience to effectively communicate complex messages and use management information to undertake responsibilities.
• Knowledge of the RSPB and its mission

About the Bloom Service

Barnardo's Swansea Bloom Service works directly with care experienced young people to help improve their emotional wellbeing, resilience and self confidence. Our aim is to create a positive space for them to explore their identity, passions, and potential. The support on offer includes  the opportunity to take part in amazing activities, life coaching, befriending and peer mentoring.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join Barnardo's as a Volunteer, Befriending and Peer Mentoring Co-ordinator (Project Worker 2).

The contract is for 25 hours a week to cover the maternity leave of the substantive post holder until 31st March 2025.

Bloom is a growing service offering a unique opportunity for the right person to develop, co-ordinate and deliver our Volunteer, Befriending and Peer Mentoring work using established and innovative approaches. The Co-ordinator will be responsible for recruiting and managing a team of volunteers, befrienders and peer mentors who will help young people to improve their physical and mental well-being by supporting them to access a range of exciting activities, helping them to find new interests and hobbies and engage in healthy activities in the community

You will undertake the role of Volunteer, Befriending and Peer Mentoring Co-ordinator reporting to the Children's Service Manager and acting as line manager to the service's volunteers.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out the following duties (in addition to those on the generic job description):- 

• Continued development and delivery of the Volunteer, Befriending and Peer Mentoring element of the Bloom service.
• Recruit and train volunteers, befrienders and peer mentors
• Effectively match volunteers/befrienders/peer mentors to support young people
• Effectively utilise the Barnardo's specialist volunteer management system (Vol 1)
• Provide ongoing support and supervision of volunteers
• Keep accurate statistical information and assist in producing service performance reports for the organisation and funders.
• Support project engagement events and empower young people to share their voice and ensure that Bloom continues to be a young person led project
• Assist in quality assurance of every aspect of the service
• The service requires flexibility of work as we support young people around their needs.

You will have: 

• Experience of working within a volunteering setting preferably at the level of co-ordinating the service this can be in a employment, education, training or volunteering setting
• Experience of recruiting, inducting and retaining volunteers
• Experience of keeping statistical information and completing performance reports for funders
• The ability to line manage  volunteers
• An understanding of the needs of care experienced/vulnerable young people and an awareness of the factors impacting on their lives

Bloom is made up of three elements all of which work together:

Life Coaching - there is a dedicated life coach

Giving young people the power to unlock their own potential for positive change, by providing them with the tools to build resilience, improve wellbeing and understand themselves better. Coaching empowers young people to think about and move forward positively in their lives, by creating and working towards specific goals through 1:1 sessions with our life coach. 

Volunteer, befriending and peer mentoring - there is a dedicated volunteer coordinator

• Volunteers – to help with activities
• Befriending - members of the local community befriend and provide ongoing assistance to service users are moving to independence
• Peer mentors – care experienced adults who can offer invaluable guidance to care experienced young people by drawing on their own experiences

Activities there are 2 engagement workers 

Giving young people regular opportunities to get together to experience activities not easily accessed by care experienced young people. Led by the expressed wishes of young people they could be experiences such as sports, adventuring, outdoor events, gardening clubs, cooking clubs.

Job Title: Central Clinical Administrator

This is an exciting new opportunity to join our administration team during a time of growth and development across the charity. The successful candidate will take a key role in ensuring our operations and administration processes run as smoothly and efficiently as possible through central administration cover and project work.

You will be joining a small, dedicated, administration team at James ’ Place and will regularly connect with the wider clinical and management teams. Whilst based within one of our centres, your work will cross-cover all our centres and teams, with some travelling to our other centres expected throughout the year. This role requires someone with both excellent organisational and people skills with the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a range of stakeholders including men in distress. Your administration skills will be vital, and you will be able to work with a broad range of IT, including shared Outlook inboxes and calendars. You will support the wider teams to deliver our effective intervention, therefore an ability to work collaboratively is essential. About the Role

We are now recruiting for two Case Workers who will each manage and support a caseload of Black and minoritised migrant women with multiple and complex needs in contact with the criminal justice system and under immigration restrictions, providing holistic, long-term support and advocacy to empower women to rebuild their lives.

This role will support women, including young women, being released from prison to the London area, encompassing support for those on probation, ‘through-the-gate service’ users, un-sentenced women in custody and women in contact with the criminal justice system in London. The post holder will proactively develop partnerships, acting as the main point of contact for referrals in prisons, detention centres and with probation staff to identify Black and minoritised migrant women who are eligible for our services and support.

These roles will involve managing and supporting a caseload of 25-30 women at any one time, working collaboratively with each service user to develop an individual support plan with achievable and realistic goals, and supporting her to work towards them. It will include supporting women to participate in education, training, providing outreach support, and ensuring the women they work with have a clear understanding of their rights and obligations by providing up to date information on housing, health and welfare benefits. The post holders will be responsible for maintaining detailed case notes, goals, activities, participants’ attendance for funding and monitoring purposes.

The post holders will also be expected to effectively manage safeguarding issues and concerns, ensuring they are appropriately documented and referred. The successful candidates will also provide cover and support for our Women’s Centre and workshops

About you

We are particularly keen to attract talent from Black and minoritised communities and those with lived experience of immigration and the criminal justice systems, and/or violence against women and girls.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of working directly with Black and minoritised women, including young women under 30, affected by the criminal justice system, the immigration system, and/or violence against women and girls. You will have a good understanding of the specific intersectional issues faced by Black and minoritised migrant women in the criminal justice system and on release.
