Objective

To increase fundraised income for BRACE and dementia research through major donors and high-value supporters, both cultivating existing supporters to increase their support and networking to develop new major donors.

Role

As our Major Donor & Philanthropy Fundraiser, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive major giving programme to increase revenue from high-value supporters. This is a new and exciting opportunity to establish and grow this income stream for BRACE, requiring proven experience in securing major gifts.

Key Tasks:

Major Donor Fundraising

• Develop and implement a strategic plan to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward high net worth individuals.

• Build and maintain a strong portfolio of potential funding sources through thorough prospect research.​

• Manage a diverse portfolio of existing and new major donors, delivering excellent relationship management to meet ambitious individual fundraising targets.​

• Build, manage, and maintain a full and consistent pipeline of prospects, ensuring timely progression through each stage from identification to stewardship.​

• Conduct frequent and regular contact with donors and prospects by phone, video, and in-person meetings, utilizing the Head of Fundraising and CEO for potential new and existing high net stakeholders.​

• Develop compelling, tailored proposals and funding applications to secure significant donations.​

• Create and implement bespoke stewardship plans to ensure long-term support.​

• Represent BRACE at networking events to build relationships with potential high-value supporters.​

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all major donor activity in our database.​

Strategy & Planning

• Work closely with the Head of Fundraising to develop and implement a major donor fundraising strategy.​

• Monitor performance against budget targets and analyze data to support future budgeting.​

• Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy of the charity.​

• Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in major donor fundraising.​

General Responsibilities

• Be an active and supportive member of the BRACE team, supporting colleagues across the organization to support the charity’s wider organizational goals and objectives.​

• Gain and maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the charity's work, priorities, and future plans.​

• Assist the CEO, Head of Fundraising, and other colleagues with charity-wide development initiatives.​

• Attend meetings and events as required both during and outside normal office hours, including the annual Let’s Talk Dementia.​

• Carry out any other duties compatible with this post as directed by the Head of Fundraising.

• Demonstrable experience in major donor fundraising or equivalent high-value relationship
  management
• Proven track record of securing large and repeat donations from individuals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good copywriting and proofreading ability
• Experience in creative proposal writing and the ability to demonstrate clear outcomes and impact
• Confident and persuasive presentation skills

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Senior Community Fundraising Manager, you will grow our community income by recruiting and managing community supporters to drive our fundraising efforts across our key campaigns, lead and motivate individuals to take part in fundraising activities, turning conversations into lasting relationships that support our amazing local NHS hospitals.

Working primarily with community supporters, the post-holder will also need to work closely with our Corporate, Individual Giving and Legacy, Comms and Marketing colleagues in support of our overall objectives.

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and cultivate a portfolio of community supporters and prospects to grow income
   
• Build multi-layered stewardship plan that secures long-term support and offers excellent customer service
   
• Build year-round cultivation and stewardship event plan for individual supporters and community groups
   
• Support Senior Community Fundraising Manager to develop and implement annual community fundraising action plans to grow income, generate new leads and manage ongoing relationships
   
• Conduct prospect research to identify best prospects and plan approaches to introduce the Charity to secure support, to include Charity of the Year partnerships and sponsorship opportunities
   
• Proactively cultivate and develop relationships with new community supporters and develop relationships with existing donors to secure ongoing support
   
• Provide effective relationship management and stewardship to demonstrably increase retention of community donors
   
• To promote and help co-ordinate NHC volunteering opportunities
   
• Think creatively to develop fundraising initiatives to encourage community supporters to engage with Nottingham Hospitals Charity quickly and easily

As the Director of Governance and Assurance, you will provide sector-leading company secretariat, governance, and assurance, ensuring the governance structure efficiently manages regulated activities and commercial group entities. This is a new role within the communications and engagement team, with responsibility for helping our members to campaign and secure improvements to regional transport accessibility. The role is part of our work to achieve justice in society, where disabled people’s voices are amplified, and our message is heard and acted upon.

You will work across the north of England, mirroring the regions covered by the Sub-national Transport Body ‘Transport for the North’. You must live in this region to apply and undertake this position.

You will collaborate with Transport for All members, disabled people’s organisations, and civil society organisations, bringing disabled people together to share our views on accessible transport and make change. Where campaigning is already taking place, you will work alongside it, offering resources and practical support as desired.

You will need to stay abreast of transport developments in your region, and work closely with other teams to share your insights. This will ensure local disabled people’s experiences guide the national agenda.

Key responsibilities

1. Planning and development (10% of time)

· Plan regular activity across your region, considering staffing, budget, and wider organisational requirements

· Help to develop and deliver Transport for All’s membership offering, community building and local campaign support

· Keep Transport for All’s CRM and records up to date

· In partnership with your manager, create systems to monitor objectives against funding and organisational targets and prepare reports to evidence progress against these

2. Communication and community building (50% of time)

· Build relationships with local members, campaigners, disabled people’s organisations, groups and forums

· Represent Transport for All at meetings and events, including giving presentations on our work

· Organise and deliver regular member meetings online and offline, providing space for people to connect, share transport accessibility news and plan and progress campaigns

· Contribute and commission member content for the member newsletter, website, and social media

· Speak to the media and develop and grow a network of local members willing to train as spokespeople for meetings and media interviews

· Promote and grow a diverse membership in your region

· Ensure members can take part in paid opportunities via the training, research and consultancy team

3. Policy influencing and campaigning (30% of time)

· Maintain awareness of the policy agenda for your area

· Act as a conduit between members, the Insight and Advice team, and the Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns team

· Work collaboratively with the Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns team to form and maintain relationships with key regional stakeholders

· Coordinate responses to regional transport consultations in line with Transport for All positions, coordinating contributions from members, and giving guidance to members who wish to respond individually.

· Bring together and support members and campaign groups to influence local policy through local or national Transport for All campaigns. This could mean you will:

o Support members with campaign planning

o Provide practical support eg booking venues and access support for meetings, coordinating emails to local members

o Give guidance on technical aspects of transport policy

o Attend meetings with decision makers alongside campaigners, and representatives from the Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns team

o Publicise campaigns in local media

o Document campaigners’ experiences for others to learn from eg via website pieces or commissioned blogs

· Contribute to Transport for All’s understanding of overarching issues and contribute to national campaign planning.

4. Insight (10% of time)

· Share information about the Transport for All advice-line with members and the disabled community in your region

Context and purpose of role

Ramblers walk leadership programme increases the skills and confidence of people from diverse backgrounds to lead walks, enabling more people to benefit from group walks. As a member of the Programmes team, the Programme Lead (Walk Leadership) will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of the programme across GB.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on the design, development and operational delivery of the Walk Leadership programme across GB.
• Create operational delivery plans – to identify milestones, monitor risks, resolve issues and manage resource requirements.
• Design and develop resources and processes to support programme implementation.

Job Title: Rural Programme Coordinator – based in Liberia & Sierra Leone

Role Purpose:

• Oversee Street Child’s rolling school construction programme in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
• Support in-school, community engagement, and economic empowerment activities.
• Work closely with local partners to manage the construction of 50-100 primary and secondary schools annually.

• Lead the consolidation of narrative reports for various donors.

2. Programme Management – 35%

• Collaborate with national partners, Government, and community stakeholders to identify and assess school construction needs.
• Ensure quality and timely implementation of school construction programming.
• Develop systems to track progress against key milestones and address challenges.
• Train and guide partner staff to ensure the effective use of programme documents and tools.

3. Finance & Procurement – 20%

• Oversee the procurement process, ensuring value for money in selecting contractors.
• Work with finance colleagues to compile financial reporting for programme donors.
• Support teams in compiling requisitions in line with programme forecasts and budgets.

Experience and Knowledge:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Responsible for delivering marketing content to promote the mission, vision and values of the charity. Your primary goal will be to increase awareness and engagement with the work the Charity does.

ON APPOINTMENT, YOU'RE EXPECTED TO HAVE:

• Previous professional experience and hold most of the necessary skills for the role.

IN YOUR ROLE:

• You are expected to be able to work independently quickly post your induction with guidance and support for more challenging or complex aspects of this role; 
• You will carry out wide range of duties independently with guidance and supervision available; 
• You will contribute your knowledge and experience to the wider team / organisational development

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• With support from the Marketing Director, create and deliver content plans for charity fundraising and awareness campaigns.
• Take a lead role in developing a monthly marketing calendar to plan and schedule content in line with the overall Marketing Strategy
• Work directly with young people and through the Charity’s team to tell their stories, working to make this a positive, empowering experience for them.
• Prepare monthly analytics report and adjust marketing plans accordingly in discussion with Marketing Director.
• Write, design and send newsletters for charity stakeholders.
• Write, design and upload blogs posts on the Charity’s website.
• Write, design and schedule social media posts.
• With support from the Marketing Director, make updates and improvements to the Charity’s website.
• Monitor and respond to engagement on social media, maintaining a positive digital community. 
• Create press releases as requested and collaborate with PR partners to raise the profile of Caudwell Youth.
• Create designs for the Charity to use across all marketing channels, building strong relationships with all departments.
• Support consistent use of our brand across the charity 
• Support the volunteering function by implementing and evaluating digital advertising plans to recruit volunteer mentors, including by using social media and google ads grant.

TRAVEL & TEAM

• Some travel to events to take photos and videos for the charity.
• Some travel to work with young people.
• Endeavour to promote Caudwell Youth’s values in all that you do. 
• Be an ambassador for Caudwell Youth. 

ADMINISTRATION

• Work within budgets, properly justifying / accounting for expenditure.
• Ensure good administration, record keeping and reporting of all work undertaken in line with data protection and other regulations.

PARTNERSHIPS & LIAISON

• Work closely with the team and with key stakeholders to promote good communication and shared focus.
• Represent the Charity professionally and appropriately to other organisations.

Debt Advisor

The Advice Services directorate at Toynbee Hall is central to our commitment to address and alleviate poverty in London and beyond. Specialising in debt, welfare benefits, legal support, and generalist advice, our directorate has proven instrumental in significantly enhancing the financial wellbeing of those we serve. Last year alone, our efforts helped individuals and families to be over £23 million better off, showcasing the direct impact of our work.

Scope of role

The Debt Advisor is responsible for providing comprehensive, video debt advice to prisoners across thirteen (13) HMPPS sites, tailored to their specific circumstances. This role involves conducting detailed interviews to understand clients’ financial problems, researching options, and helping clients make informed decisions. The advisor ensures income maximisation and provides ongoing casework support, acting on behalf of clients where necessary. Maintaining up-to-date case records and staying informed about relevant legislation, policies, and procedures are crucial aspects of the role. The Debt Advisor is also expected to complete continuous professional development and contribute to the team’s overall objectives by meeting targets, prioritising workloads, and demonstrating financial efficiency. The may also be required to attend meetings on-site at various prisons and host workshops for prisoners.

Key Responsibilities

Accurate, effective and individually tailored advice

• Interviewing those that access our service using sensitive listening and questioning skills to allow them to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.
• Researching and exploring options and implications so that those accessing our service can make informed decisions.
• Providing in-depth quality advice and on-gong casework, including acting for the client where necessary using appropriate communication skills and channels.

Detailed case records

• Maintaining detailed case records, ensuring that all work meets all auditing and quality standards and the requirements of the funder.
• Ensuring all case records and written up in a timely manner.

Up-to-date training

• Completing a minimum of 16 hours/ equivalent of technical debt advice DPD accredited training or qualifying activity.
• Maintaining an up-to-date record of all training sessions.

Teamwork

• Work to an agreed work-plan, meeting targets and milestones, whilst prioritising and managing your own workload.
• Be an active member of the team, identifying opportunities for your own development, and demonstrating financial efficiency and value for money throughout your work.
• Compliance with Toynbee Hall policies and procedures, including health and safety.

Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 Pro Rata

The Specialist Housing Advocate will work within a dynamic, fast paced team to provide intervention, advocacy and support that empowers women and ensures that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. This is a new and exciting service, and we are looking for someone passionate about ensuring that all survivors of domestic abuse are able to access safe and appropriate accommodation which meets their needs.

To be successful as Specialist Housing IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and housing sectors. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

About Equal Power Equal Voice

The Equal Power Equal Voice (EPEV) programme provides mentoring, training and peer-networking opportunities to ethnic minority people, LGBTQ+ people, disabled people, women and people with any combination of these identities across Wales. This important and unique programme is delivered in a strong and established partnership with Disability Wales, Ethnic Youth Support Team (EYST), Stonewall Cymru and Women’s Equality Network (WEN) Wales.

The EPEV programme aims to ensure more diverse representation in politics and public life by strengthening the knowledge and skills of those who aspire to be there, while learning from and being supported by those who have achieved positions of power, influence and authority in the face of these challenges.

You will build on the success of the previous EPEV programme cycle, which ran between 2021-2024. They will bring enthusiasm and innovation to ensure the next EPEV programme cycle (2025-2028) is efficient and effective and provides the best possible experience to mentees and mentors, paving a direct route to seeing greater diversity in political and public life in Wales.

The EPEV programme is made possible through funding from the Welsh Government and The National Lottery.

This role is part of a collaborative effort, with Programme Co-ordinators being based at each of the partner organisations.

About the Role:

The Programme Co-ordinator will work alongside similar post-holders at Disability Wales, EYST and Stonewall Cymru, and will support WEN’s Programmes Manager to deliver in partnership the Equal Power Equal Voice programme. You will lead on recruiting and supporting the cohort of approximately 25 pairs of mentees and mentors from your organisation. You will support the Programmes Manager in delivering all events within the programme and will attend events online and in person across Wales, and approximately once a year in London.

With a proven track record of delivering projects, you will be dynamic, organised, a good communicator and able to connect people to help them achieve their goals. You will be extremely motivated, able to work on your own initiative and be ready to join a high-performing yet fun and supportive team who are all committed to equality.

Key Objectives of the Role are:

• Working with your cohort of mentees to enable them to access the learning programme, benefit from the peer–to–peer support group and from the relationship with their mentor.
• Supporting the Programmes Manager in delivery of a successful mentoring programme according to the project plan.

Main Tasks will include, but not be limited to:

Project Organisation and Delivery

• Supporting the Programmes Manager in setting up all systems and lead the recruitment of mentees and mentors from your organisation’s networks
• Matching the mentees to appropriate mentors
• Supporting the organisation of the training events and training sessions by sourcing appropriate speakers, organising online sessions and / or physical events
• Organising the peer-to-peer support group for your cohort of mentees
• Working with partners and the Programmes Manager to recruit, liaise with, and keep central register of all possible mentors and support those mentor for your organisation’s cohort
• Keeping records of all achievements of mentees as they progress, checking in with them regularly on their learning journey
• Giving support to Mentees, as needed, on a case by case basis

Partnership Liaison

• Liaising with the three other Project Co-ordinators and the Programmes Manager to ensure the programme is delivered effectively
• Networking widely across the public and third sectors to promote the programme and identify opportunities relevant to it

External communications

• Being an ambassador for the programme, speaking at events where appropriate
• Liaising with the WEN Communications and Engagement Officer to help publicise EPEV

General Responsibilities and Duties

• Conducting the duties of the job description in accordance with the operational policies of WEN Wales and of the EPEV programme, including but not limited to: the safeguarding policy, diversity policy, social media policy, data protection policies, home working and other policies.
