Role Purpose:

• Oversee Street Child’s rolling school construction programme in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
• Support in-school, community engagement, and economic empowerment activities.
• Work closely with local partners to manage the construction of 50-100 primary and secondary schools annually.
• Frequent travel to rural communities to monitor projects and gather updates for internal and donor reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Reporting & Programme Funding Engagement – 30%

• Review narrative and financial quarterly reports from country teams and provide feedback.
• Lead the consolidation of narrative reports for various donors.
• Ensure regular information flow to communications and fundraising teams.
• Support income-generation efforts, including drafting funding proposals and donor visits.

2. Programme Management – 35%

• Collaborate with national partners, Government, and community stakeholders to identify and assess school construction needs.
• Ensure quality and timely implementation of school construction programming.
• Develop systems to track progress against key milestones and address challenges.
• Train and guide partner staff to ensure the effective use of programme documents and tools.
• Monitor safeguarding policies and support feedback loops with partners and participants.

3. Finance & Procurement – 20%

• Oversee the procurement process, ensuring value for money in selecting contractors.
• Work with finance colleagues to compile financial reporting for programme donors.
• Support teams in compiling requisitions in line with programme forecasts and budgets.
• Coordinate the tracking of donor and match funding requirements.

4. Other – 15%

• Provide surge support across Street Child’s programme portfolio.
• Coordinate staff, stakeholders, and donor visits.
• Represent Street Child appropriately both internally and externally.

Person Specification:

Experience and Knowledge:

• Relevant field experience in development programming with local partnership respect.
• Successful delivery of team objectives through collaboration.
• Experience with data collection, cleaning, and analysis.
• Experience working in education, community engagement, and livelihoods programming.
• Strong knowledge of the Liberia and/or Sierra Leone context.

Head of Engagement and Policy

Hours: Part-time (28 hours per week across 4 days at 7-hours per day; or another pattern agreed by management)
Salary: £59,000 - £63,000 pro rata for 0.8 FTE (i.e. £47,200 - £50,400 for 28 hours per week)
Location: Hybrid working at Science Council offices in London and working from home

The Science Council is seeking a Head of Engagement and Policy to lead a high performing and resilient engagement team. This team delivers engagement in its widest sense, spanning communications, media and digital; policy, influence and public affairs; events; engagement with current and potential member organisations, a diverse community of volunteers, employers and other key stakeholders. The team promotes and develops the Science Council’s excellent work around Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Current major projects include: launching and supporting our new employer network; replacing our website; promoting and increasing professional registration. You will ensure that the team reviews, reflects and improves its work at every opportunity.

The Science Council connects the science professions to foster knowledge exchange and offer interdisciplinary recognition for scientists around the world. Our ambition is to see a diverse and growing science profession that is trusted, respected and equipped to deliver local, regional, national and global strategic priorities.

This role is hands-on, requiring strategic, organisational and practitioner skills. You will work in partnership with key stakeholder groups, deliver activity and impact in line with the Science Council Strategy 2025-2028. You will shape, lead, manage and develop the Engagement team such that high quality, cost effective and resilient engagement increases the profile, impact and revenue of the Science Council. 

You will need excellent experience in successfully shaping and developing impactful engagement portfolios (e.g. policy, communications, events) and success in setting and achieving prioritised objectives for policy and/or other engagement. Your engagement and strategic communications will have been in the UK at national level. 

You must be able to think strategically, provide strategic advice and demonstrate initiative and creativity. You will have your own engagement specialism and insight into other engagement specialisms, sufficient to be able to lead, manage, challenge, inspire and develop the team successfully and work effectively with engagement specialists in other organisations.

We are looking for an experienced Trust Fundraiser with a background in securing income from charitable trusts and foundations to join our team to help Groundswell continue to create positive change in the lives of people, services and systems on their mission to tackle homeless health inequalities. Recently kicking off our new ‘Creating Positive Change’ strategy, coproduced by over 130 staff, volunteers, clients and partners, we have ambitious plans and a compelling model which in its simplest form promotes healthier lives and a better future for anyone who has experienced homelessness.  

The successful post holder will have experience in leading the development of well-written, compelling proposals and reports to charitable trusts and corporate foundations; demonstrating key relationship management skills to ensure all our funders feel part of Groundswell’s mission. You will be a flexible worker with strong organisational, research and written communication skills. You will pride yourself in collaborative working to ensure the most successful chance of securing income, whilst being a self-starter who can manage their own workload effectively.

Objective

To increase fundraised income for BRACE and dementia research through major donors and high-value supporters, both cultivating existing supporters to increase their support and networking to develop new major donors.

Role

As our Major Donor & Philanthropy Fundraiser, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive major giving programme to increase revenue from high-value supporters. This is a new and exciting opportunity to establish and grow this income stream for BRACE, requiring proven experience in securing major gifts.

Key Tasks:

Major Donor Fundraising

• Develop and implement a strategic plan to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward high net worth individuals.

• Build and maintain a strong portfolio of potential funding sources through thorough prospect research.​

• Manage a diverse portfolio of existing and new major donors, delivering excellent relationship management to meet ambitious individual fundraising targets.​

• Build, manage, and maintain a full and consistent pipeline of prospects, ensuring timely progression through each stage from identification to stewardship.​

• Conduct frequent and regular contact with donors and prospects by phone, video, and in-person meetings, utilizing the Head of Fundraising and CEO for potential new and existing high net stakeholders.​

• Develop compelling, tailored proposals and funding applications to secure significant donations.​

• Create and implement bespoke stewardship plans to ensure long-term support.​

• Represent BRACE at networking events to build relationships with potential high-value supporters.​

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all major donor activity in our database.​

Strategy & Planning

• Work closely with the Head of Fundraising to develop and implement a major donor fundraising strategy.​

• Monitor performance against budget targets and analyze data to support future budgeting.​

• Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy of the charity.​

• Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in major donor fundraising.​

General Responsibilities

• Be an active and supportive member of the BRACE team, supporting colleagues across the organization to support the charity’s wider organizational goals and objectives.​

• Gain and maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the charity's work, priorities, and future plans.​

• Assist the CEO, Head of Fundraising, and other colleagues with charity-wide development initiatives.​

• Attend meetings and events as required both during and outside normal office hours, including the annual Let’s Talk Dementia.​

• Carry out any other duties compatible with this post as directed by the Head of Fundraising.

Candidate requirements

Essential:

• Demonstrable experience in major donor fundraising or equivalent high-value relationship
  management
• Proven track record of securing large and repeat donations from individuals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good copywriting and proofreading ability
• Experience in creative proposal writing and the ability to demonstrate clear outcomes and impact
• Confident and persuasive presentation skills
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with high-net worth individuals
• Experience in developing and implementing stewardship plans for major donors
• Strong research skills with experience in identifying quality new business leads
• Proven ability to form good working relations, both internally and externally with people at all levels
• Innovative and keen to find solutions to problems
• Strong interpersonal skill set with the ability to be persuasive
• Excellent IT literacy
• Excellent planning, time management, and organisational skills
• Willingness to work flexibly in order to adapt to the needs of supporters and the charity
• Able to work unsupervised and independently from home and on the road

South West Community Chaplaincy (SWCC) aims to provide effective care and community support for people as they leave prison and re-integrate back into the locality, within the counties of Devon, Cornwall and West Somerset.  This includes mentoring, practical support and signposting to assist the integration of ex-prisoners into their communities, in collaboration with other professionals.

We are actively seeking to strengthen our team of Community Chaplains and specifically to appoint a new Community Chaplain in Cornwall, to work with people in the community after they have served a sentence.  The role is also a strategic one, in that it will involve extending the network of support in the county, through the development of support hubs with other service providers.

As Head of Programmes, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the quality, delivery and impact of all our capacity-building programmes. You will be key in managing our stakeholder relationships, including our pool of Associates, grant funders and consultancy clients. You will be responsible for stewarding and developing our existing training offer securing an annual trading income of up to £140k and a grant income of £300k (60% of which is already secured for 25/26 with more in the pipeline).

You will need commercial nous, grant fundraising expertise, the ability to develop and manage programmes, and the confidence to influence and support clients and donors. Using your knowledge of change and strategy, you will develop creative and agile programmes and ensure they are continuously being improved in a fast-changing field. You will be intellectually curious and follow campaign trends supporting campaigners to thrive and get results.
