RBL are looking for a Safeguarding professional with direct experience dealing with at risk adults and children. RBL Safeguarding Advisors are subject matter experts providing advice and guidance on a range of safeguarding concerns.
RBL receives thousands of calls for support every year from military veterans or their families. We operate 6 care homes and deliver support to those people living with dementia through our Admiral Nursing service. We also support the Invictus Games, have 180,000 members, almost 4000 Poppy Appeal Organisers and many thousands of Poppy Appeal volunteers.

Are you able to support and advise the staff, volunteers and members who deliver our services to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns? Can you support service delivery through data led insights and provide quality assured reports and returns?
Reporting to our Head of Safeguarding, key responsibilities will include:
- Support Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) to identify and escalate serious incidents
- Develop and implement effective working relationships across all directorates, specifically Legion Services (Recovery, Care, Services and Specialist Services etc.), membership and volunteer related activities to promote and establish a robust culture of safeguarding
- Act as a key advisor to DSL networks to enable them to meet regulatory and legislative requirements and effectively carry their accountability for Safeguarding practice across RBL
- Contribute to statistical reports to identify trends, emerging needs, future operational and strategic requirements
- Assist colleagues across all areas of RBL to ensure safeguarding data is inputted correctly onto approved systems.
This post is a Permanent Part Time opportunity, working 17.5 hours per week. Schedule of hours to be agreed between Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.

About The Role
The Help for Heroes Community Development team are looking to recruit a team of Community Builders to assist in their reshaped participation and connection strategy. Using Asset Based Community Development, we seek to support the charity’s objective to enhance reach and positive impact for members of the Armed Forces Community facing challenges within their local communities.

The main purpose of this role is to connect local people through their skills, passions and assets and support the creation of new connections, bringing people together to improve wellbeing and make the community a better place to live. This will include listening to different points of views, building relationships and motivating people to work together and create their own action influenced by their interests and skillsets to positively impact local communities and help them to flourish.
About You
You will have experience leading and facilitating the mobilisation of local communities, asset mapping, bringing together people for engagement that matters to them. You will have knowledge and experience of Asset Based Community Development work, outreach methods and you will have good organisational skills, energy and the ability to animate local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outreach to drive local connection, engagement and participation opportunities for the AFC
- Develop and embed an ABCD informed way of work
- Asset map
- Organise and facilitate community meetings to share ideas, encourage collective decision making and build a sense of belonging
- Encourage and pilot community lead action in response to local AFC needs/interests through peer led/co-designed initiatives

PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidates will need to be based within an hour’s commute of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel within a 75-mile radius of this location (travel expenses covered). Flexibility in working hours is necessary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a 2-week period so please take this into consideration before applying.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- A Community Development qualification and/or at least 3 years' experience working within a community development or similar role, with responsibility for bringing about social change and improving quality of life

About the Team
You will work as part of the Community Development team; this newly formed team will approach working in defined localities using an asset based community development approach. Overall purpose
This is a key role that will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager, Head of Public Engagement and Senior Digital Marketing Manager.
You will contribute to the implementation of our communications, engagement and fundraising strategies, ensuring that your work is anchored in our organisational and team strategic goals. About the Role
- Support young people and young adults (18-25) from the point they engage with the service, through their entire journey.
- Work alongside the MOPAC Y2A hub, specifically supporting young adults involved with probation services.
- Provide screening, assessments, psychosocial interventions, care planning, and post-treatment support, ensuring seamless transitions in care.
- Respond effectively to safeguarding issues, ensuring the safety and well-being of the individuals you work with.
- Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm, helping create healthier communities.
- Advocate for access to relevant services, ensuring holistic outcomes in relation to health and well-being.
- Promote positive outcomes that enable young people to lead safer, healthier, and more purposeful lives, building resilience and reducing risks.
About You
- Experience working with young people, with a good understanding of the issues they face.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices, particularly concerning children and young people, including the Fraser Competence framework.
- Strong understanding of drug and alcohol-related issues and experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of best practices in substance misuse treatment services, especially in relation to young people.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a high level of IT proficiency.
- Team-oriented with a cooperative, supportive approach to achieving service objectives.

A great opportunity has risen for a Specialist Respiratory Dietitian to become part of our helpline team. Our helpline is open Monday to Friday, and this position provides the flexibility of locum work allowing you to choose days based on your availability. You will work as a member of the helpline team providing respiratory nutritional support to people living with a lung condition, as well as their relatives and carers.
