Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder relationship management
o Build healthy, dynamic relationships with Entity Group OpCo representatives and entity leaders and managers to continually develop ways of working that fit entity-specific requirements in line with core HTB Group policies and procedures.
HR Operations
• Manage and/or oversee HR Operations staff within the People Team to support delivery of the core HR annual agenda, ensuring workload is evenly distributed across the team and that resourcing levels are appropriate at peak points over the year.
• Directly deliver prioritised operational activity, and periodic projects (for example the Group annual pay review).
• With the Director of People and Head of HR Advisory, oversee the development and implementation of People Policy, processes and practices from start to end of the employment lifecycle.
• Oversee the development of relationships with external providers of benefits and services for the whole staff body, such as pension, travel and employee support providers.
• Oversee the delivery of services within the People Team budget, supporting budget setting annually.
• People Team Operating Framework:
o Contribute to the ongoing review and update of operating processes to ensure continuous improvement of the team’s service provision.
o Assist in the provision of guidance on practically applying the policies, procedure and process for staff, line managers, and the People Team.
o Continue to support the People Team Systems leads to reinvent the way that XCD exchanges data with other key systems in Finance and IT, to improve operational efficiency and management information.
o Report progress and people / staff analytics to senior management to facilitate effective decision making.
HR Advisory Provision
• Maintain a knowledge of best practice compliance with employment law and regulatory requirements to support appropriate risk management relating to staff employment and personnel management.
• In conjunction with the Head of HR Advisory, consult and advise across the full range of employee relations matters.
• Ensure the appropriate and comprehensive documentation of key meetings and discussions between staff, line managers and the People Team regarding HR issues.
Line Management Upskilling
• Assist all levels of management with the performance management process, disciplinary and redundancy processes, and probationary period responsibilities.
• Create proactive and effective programmes for upskilling HODs and Line Managers in their understanding and handling of the full range of employee relations issues.
Learning and Development
• May take a lead in further developing the HTB Group L&D offering, harnessing the newly enabled capability in our HR system, XCD.
• Promote good levels of engagement in all L&D activities provided, through the People Team and other Professional Services teams.
• Further develop the L&D offering as appropriate or in response to particular needs.
Recruitment
• May take a lead in overseeing recruitment and onboarding activity, ensuring continuous improvement and maintaining an excellent candidate experience for all applicants.
• Support the upskilling of hiring managers to ensure that they play their full role in hiring team members with adherence to best practice and legal requirements.
The Right Candidate
• 6 years+ experience in a generalist HR role, including at least 3 years in a Manager/Lead HR Advisor level role.
• Chartered Member of the CIPD; Masters or equivalent qualification in HR.
• Credibility at senior levels and excellent relationship building skills; a strongly people-focussed stance with the ability to maintain a practical and pragmatic approach to problem-solving and case-handling.
• The highest integrity, sensitivity and confidentiality.

About the position
The GMS Support Manager will be responsible for leading on the day-to-day operations of the Freedom Fund’s new Salesforce Grant Management System. The project to develop the new GMS is currently in progress, with user training expected to take place in January 2025 and the Go Live planned for February 2025. The transition to the new system will be a significant change in the organisation’s way of working; currently the Freedom Fund’s grant management process is manual and spread over multiple different platforms.
Initially, the focus of the role will be on supporting the Freedom Fund staff as they transition to using the new system, including assisting with user training and working with the implementation partner Hyphen8 to identify and resolve any issues that arise. Following Go Live, the GMS Support Manager will be responsible for leading on administration and maintenance of the system, requiring a good technical knowledge of how Salesforce works. The role will be responsible for user training and support, leading on staff consultation for future system developments and prioritising requests. The successful candidate will also act as the main point of contact between the Freedom Fund and implementation partner Hyphen8 for both ongoing support and future development phases.
Responsibilities
• Support the roll-out of the Freedom Fund’s new Grant Management System, including supporting Hyphen8 with user training and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the transition.
• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Salesforce system; including system performance, change control and user support
• Support the day-to-day administrative functions and configuration including user management, permissions, sharing rules, objects, fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, reports and dashboards
• Be proactive in system maintenance including keeping up with Salesforce releases, features and best practices
• Be the key point of contact between Freedom Fund and Hyphen8
• Understand the Freedom Fund’s needs and work with Hyphen8 (as appropriate) and staff to meet changes
• Decide how best to direct the core support hours provided by Hyphen8 during version upgrades in order to achieve the best results
• Understand and own the Freedom Fund’s Salesforce architecture including the data model, integrations (including with the finance system), reporting and analytics
• Maintain data quality by monitoring data and addressing the procedural issues which lead to loss of quality
• Promote the use of Salesforce across the Freedom Fund, optimising the return on investment in this capability
• Interpret and prioritise requests for GMS development and support

About the role
As the new Community and Events Fundraising Manager, you will oversee the stewardship of some of their most passionate supporters, working closely with dedicated volunteers, community groups, and overseeing key charity events. Your focus will be on harnessing the enthusiasm and commitment of fundraisers in the community, motivating and guiding them to maximize their contributions.
You will also actively support the planning and execution of our bespoke Walk to End Homelessness event, alongside leading on our annual Spring Concert and contributing to the growth of our third-party event series.
Responsibilities:
Community and Events Fundraising:
- Help deliver the teams' existing events and community fundraising products, growing net income and actively seeking new opportunities for expansion.
- Develop a range of new fundraising products and assets to support all aspects of the community fundraising programme in line with our values and key messages.
- Act as an ambassador for The Passage with community groups, personally delivering talks and presentations to build relationships and promote our work.
- Manage and oversee a programme of station and street collections, ensuring that volunteers are trained and equipped to represent The Passage with the public
- Manage current community and events fundraising relationships with individual supporters and groups by providing outstanding, tailored stewardship to generate income.
- Help deliver and develop a range of The Passage owned and third-party events and activities.
- Work with the digital marketing and comms team to produce engaging, accessible content and campaigns across web, social, email and paid digital activity to promote fundraising products and activity.
- Research and recommend new ways of raising funds and generating income through community fundraising.
Budgets and planning:
- Produce and manage the Community Fundraising income and expenditure annual plan and budget.
- Work with the Senior Events and Community Manager to regularly review performance, report variances against budget and undertake contingency planning to minimise risk.
- Monitor income and KPIs against agreed budgets and targets, taking action to address any shortfall.
People management:
- Provide all aspects of line management support, development and coaching to the Fundraising Assistant.
- Recruit, train, manage and inspire volunteers to deliver agreed aspects of the fundraising plan.

The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraiser in community and events with strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of individuals.

Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience working or academic study in relevant fields (including working closely and collaboratively with disabled people and disabled people’s organisations is desirable), such as international disability inclusion, assistive and accessible technology, accessibility and inclusive design, disability innovation and global health; with willingness to grow expertise across these areas.
- Ideally have some experience (approx. 2-5 years) working on research projects and/or practice-focused research in a related field. This could be as part of further study, research or in a work capacity. Real work experience is desirable.
- A post graduate qualification or equivalent work experience, focused on an area relevant to disability inclusion, accessibility and / or assistive technology.
- Experience and confidence to independently conduct qualitative research and analysis, and literature reviews.
- Experienced in quantitative research and analysis with proficiency in designing and running quantitative data collection via surveys and analysing results to inform statistically representative and robust results. Confidence to independently conduct descriptive and correlational analysis using for e.g., ExCel, Python, R or SPSS.

- Excellent written communication skills, with ability to take on writing of reports using clear and compelling narrative; experience authoring lucid and informative insights and reporting.

This role will play a key role in delivering our ambitious policy influencing programme, helping to develop and advocate for the policy changes needed to reduce, prevent and eventually end the need for food banks in the UK. It will focus on developing Trussell policy positions in either employment support (especially for people with barriers to work) or disability and sickness benefits. The role will also lead the development and implementation of influencing plans in that policy area.
Role responsibilities
·Lead the development of policy solutions and positions
Leading the development of credible policy positions and implementable recommendations in the specified policy area - either in relation to employment support and conditionality, particularly for groups facing significant barriers to work including disabled people and single parents; or in relation to the disability benefit system, particularly Personal Independence Payments and the Work Capability Assessment.
Working with the Policy and Public Affairs, Network Operations and Participation teams to ensure our policy influencing has a robust evidence base.
Where appropriate, developing policy in collaboration with food banks in Trussell’s network and lived experience partners. Building on success of existing participatory work to ensure it is rooted in the lived experience of individuals affected by poverty. This includes ensuring an ethical approach to policy development in line with our values.
