The Kenelm Youth Trust is seeking a Retreat Centre Director to head up both the Alton Castle and Soli residential centres based in Alton, Staffordshire. You will be required to live on site in order to fulfil role requirements.

The Retreat Centre Director will have overall responsibility for the co-ordination and delivery of the residential programmes, day retreats, outreach work and school missions and will work collaboratively with the senior leadership of the Kenelm Youth Trust.

The Diocese of Winchester (WDBF) and the Diocese of Portsmouth (PDBF) support the Ministry in, and the mission of, Church of England parishes in Winchester and Portsmouth and surrounding areas.

Reporting into the Heads of Finance for both dioceses, you will play a key role in operational cashflow management, financial reconciliations, and process improvement. Working across two charities within each diocese, as well as supporting additional connected organisations, this role offers a unique opportunity to enhance financial operations within a complex and impactful environment.

In this Finance Officer role, you will:

• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for all diocesan entities, ensuring transactions are accurate and properly recorded.
• Complete quarterly investment reconciliations, updating the investment register and processing revaluations as needed.
• Manage the school’s ledger, overseeing payments, fund transfers, and project accounting reconciliations.
• Collect the Common Mission Fund via direct debit, reconcile payments weekly, report figures to the National Church, and support monthly reporting.
• Assist with year-end preparations, ensuring timely and accurate statutory accounts and audit support for all entities.
• Monitor daily cash flow across diocesan entities, transferring funds as needed and overseeing Barclaycard and NatWest credit card accounts.
• Act as system administrator for accounting and banking platforms, supporting users, resolving queries, and assisting the finance team.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to generate income for the Olive Tree Cancer Support Group through community and corporate fundraising, principally in Crawley and Horsham and surrounding areas.  This will involve planning and implementing a community and corporate fundraising strategy, engaging with individual donors, community organisations and corporate sponsors to generate a significant level of income to agreed targets and working with the wider team to advance the goals of the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced community and corporate fundraiser who is confident and capable in taking the lead on this key strand of our fundraising stream.  You will be managed by the Centre Manager and supported by the Trustees and will have autonomy on leading on individual donors, community and corporate events and partnerships.

 

About you:

 

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of building relationships in a fundraising role, across a variety of audiences resulting in increased income generation.  You will have excellent communication and presentation skills coupled with an ability to inspire and motivate others and engage compassionately with service users.

You will need excellent organisational skills with a good understanding of fundraising targets, as well as strategic thinking ability in combination with good problem-solving skills.  You must be a team player, with a mature, credible and conscientious approach, as you will be part of a small team, working with vulnerable service users, in a key role for the organisation.  You will also be required to assist in day-to-day operations at the Centre.

The flexibility and willingness to work several evenings and weekend days throughout the year and ability to travel independently is essential for this role.

What we’re looking for and main responsibilities:

 

• Experience working within a charitable environment.

• Ability to lead the strategic and operational management specific to the Olive Tree community and corporate fundraising functions to help deliver agreed income targets.

• Ability to act as an ambassador and build and maintain relationships with individual donors, community organisations and community partners to maximise donations.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead on an externally funded outreach project providing hard to reach young people with the opportunity to try free boating sessions over the summer holidays.

This is a very varied and rewarding role that requires someone who is self-motivated, organised, creative, tenacious, positive and IT competent with experience in project management.

You need to be able to motivate and inspire your project team, ensuring that the project is on target through continuous monitoring and evaluation. The On The Water Project Coordinator will be responsible for the line management of 3 fixed-term Project Assistants.

Whilst this role is homebased for the majority of the time, it requires the post holder to travel to each of the locations intensively throughout the 5 week delivery period, as well as regular travel for both the planning and evaluation periods. Travel expenses are covered as part of the role.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and ensure the delivery of the On the Water project.

• To manage the temporary Project Assistants at Royal Docks, Midlands and Port Edgar Boat Stations
• Work with the Project Assistants and Growth and Development Workers to enable the effective recruitment of young people, particularly those facing difficulties or disadvantage to the project through recruitment and referrals from local authorities, schools and other relevant bodies
• Devise, plan and implement systems to record and report on the project’s activity, progress and outcomes
• Manage the budget in accordance with the agreed expenditure targets, ensuring that accurate records are maintained
• Ensure the safe and smooth running of delivery in line with all internal policies
• Manage the evaluation, wrap up and future planning of the project

The role

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail.

We have a hybrid approach to the way we work. Our Senior Executive Team meet with our Senior Leadership Team twice a month on a Monday. These meetings are face to face. One is in central London and one is at our Hatfield office. In addition, you will be required to attend at least four face to face organisational All Staff Together days which are predominantly in Hatfield, one directorate meeting a month in Hatfield, as well as attending the Hatfield office with the rest of the HR team one day a week. The role:

This is a key role within the Executive Leadership team, with accountability for Finance, Procurement and IT at the Globe. The Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining The Stained Glass Museum’s financial accounts. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong management skills and a solid understanding of financial administration, especially within the charity sector. A working knowledge of management accounts and accounting software is essential.

In this role you will play a key role in the success of the museum. You will work closely with a small team of museum staff and volunteers, including your line manager the museum Director and Trustee Treasurer, and report periodically to the Board of Trustees.

We are looking for a diligent and highly organised person to provide HR processes which support the effective operation of the charity, including recruitment, staff support and development, maintaining personnel records, advising on and updating staff policies, producing contracts, and taking responsibility for the payroll (in conjunction with our external processor). You must be a strong communicator with meticulous attention to detail, who enjoys working in a busy professional environment.
