The role

FareShare is committed to expanding our work so more surplus food can reach thousands of charities and community groups nationwide. Central to this aim is a vibrant national fundraising department that has consistently grown the organisation’s new and existing income streams in recent years.

FareShare’s Trusts and Grants Team has a strong track record of working across a range of impactful partnerships to raise ~£5m of income each year. A team of 6, we pride ourselves on being knowledgeable and passionate about FareShare’s work, building compelling cases for support that can amplify our impact for years to come.

As a Trusts and Grants and Manager you will take on the management and stewardship of a diverse portfolio of high-value funding relationships, while developing new partnerships with a high propensity to support our work. You will play a proactive role in strategic planning and have line management responsibilities of a Trusts and Foundations Officer.

You will be a strategic thinker, used to working with high value grant making professionals and trustees and with senior staff and stakeholders within your own organisation. You will have a strong track record in income generation and supporter stewardship and have excellent communication skills. Cross team collaboration is crucial to the role, and you will be able to demonstrate strong relationship building and influencing skills.

Main areas of responsibility

• Build relationships with portfolio of five and six figure trust supporters, understanding their motivations and tailoring opportunities and communications to cultivate strong, long-lasting partnerships.
• Foster a deep understanding of FareShare’s work and strategy to create persuasive fundraising proposals that inspire and solicit funds. This includes developing relationships across the organisation to build a sound understanding of FareShare operations and where support is most needed
•   Champion and input in to the teams prospecting process, using your own research and sector knowledge to take new opportunities from identification through to solicitation, particularly focussing on those with multi-year and high value potential.
•  Develop innovative and personalised stewardship plans, in collaboration with senior colleagues when appropriate, to deepen funder relationships. Craft compelling written communications including emails, proposals, and reports to showcase the impact of trust support and celebrate key milestones. Lead calls, meetings and visits to strengthen funder partnerships and engagement with our work.
•  Provide supportive management to a Trust and Grants Officer, offering regular advice and guidance, identifying opportunities for development and monitoring performance objectives in line with the organisational and team strategy.
• Play an active role in developing and delivering the Trusts and Grants team strategy contributing to planning and management of team objectives, and supporting the Senior Manager to motivate the team and drive trust income.  
• Work with colleagues across the Fundraising sub-teams to maximise cross over opportunities between income areas.
•  Maintain accurate records of partner interactions in our CRM system and shared files, and consistently update financial records and account plans.

Experience

• Experience of securing and successfully managing five and six figure grants and multi-year gifts from a range of grant makers, including project funding and unrestricted funding.
• Experience in prospecting for new high value business opportunities via multiple research channels and soliciting new donors to make significant gifts.
• Experience in writing compelling funding applications and impact reporting.
• Experience in developing and presenting complex project and financial information to support compelling funding proposals.
• Experience of successful cross department working with senior colleagues to deliver on funding objectives and budget.
• Experience of line management or transferable skills to line management.

• Strong up-to-date knowledge of the trust, grant and foundation landscape.

We are recruiting a high energy and hands on Garden Manager to work closely with the Senior Leadership team at Sufra to support the development and expansion of the community garden, and manage the team of garden staff and volunteers. ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Waterloo Uncovered is the ground-breaking charity that combines world-class archaeology with veteran recovery and wellbeing.  Since 2015 we have been supporting veterans and serving military personnel, through programmes centred around the archaeology of the Waterloo battlefield.  For example, learning archaeological skills through excavation on the battlefield supported by a wellbeing team, bringing the artefacts discovered at Waterloo to beneficiaries in their community, or supporting beneficiaries to explore archaeology and history of conflict through our online programme.  All our programmes link conflicts past to conflict present, as beneficiaries uncover, recover and discover.  

As Administrative Assistant you will be part of our small, dynamic, and passionate team, which is supported by an extensive network of volunteers.  You will work closely with the Chief Executive on all aspects of our administration in support of our operational delivery, communications, fundraising and outreach.

Key responsibilities:

• Programme administration, engaging directly in support of beneficiaries for onboarding, logistics and follow up, answering enquiries and general tasks.

• Customer service, responding to email and telephone enquiries and correspondence.

• Database and spreadsheet management, including managing contacts and suppliers, as well as donor and volunteer data on our CRM system and digital filing.

About the role:

This is exciting opportunity for motivated, strategic development operations professional with experience of leading fundraising operations teams.

In this role, the Head of Strategy and Operations will create and lead a world-class development operations function, play a pivotal role in developing and planning the Museum's major capital campaign, and embed best practice in fundraising and information management across the Development directorate.

The postholder will manage the Development directorate's strategy development and delivery planning, and is responsible for campaign management, research, stakeholder data and insight, fundraising proposition development, reporting, gift management, business processed, and compliance. The role drives, facilitates and underpins activity across the Development department and makes a significant contribution to the Museum's fundraising and stakeholder engagement activity.

This is an exciting time for the British Museum. We are embarking on our Western Range project - one of the biggest museum redevelopment projects anywhere in the world. This physical transformation is in the service of an intellectual transformation. We are rethinking how we display our collection - the most holistic and ambitious redisplay in the Museum's history. We have appointed world-renowned architect Lina Ghotmeh to rejuvenate and redevelop our Western Range - accounting for over a third of our galleries. The Development directorate will enable this transformation by delivering a major capital campaign, in which the Head of Strategy and Operations will play a central role.

• Lead the development and delivery of the Museum's fundraising strategy, including the capital campaign, working closely with senior leadership to set targets, milestones, and deliverables.

About the role

We’re looking to recruit a Head of Grants Management to join our Financial Planning & Analysis unit which provides timely financial planning and reporting across the whole organisation. Managing a small team, you will deliver first class financial support on over 160 grants and £32m of expenditure. This will involve overseeing the outgoing grant lifecycle, including due diligence on grantees, preparation of grant agreements and amendments as well as managing the timing of payments.

As Head of Grants Management, you will lead on our grant management processes and ensure these are compliant with our standards and policies. In addition, you will provide advice and analysis to colleagues to help them deliver successful, impactful programmes. We will look to you to monitor the status of grants and provide commentary on monthly variances as well as check foreign exchange exposure on grants, collaborating with colleagues to mitigate losses. You will also provide training and advice to grant issuing teams to help ensure that budgets are well managed and ensure they have the information and support needed to make well-informed financial management decisions. Important will be the ability to conduct due diligence on new grantees, follow up on due diligence actions and review due diligence annually on existing grantees. You will play a key role in the design and implementation of a new Grants Management System too.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Hands on experience in grant management.
• Significant experience in managing, leading and coaching a team.
• Accountancy qualification (part or fully qualified) or qualified by experience with exposure to compliance activities such as due diligence.
• Experience in, and a passion for excellence in, process management, and the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Training and capacity building skills.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the South East Rivers Trust's Finance and Operations Team.  We are a small dynamic team, sitting at the heart of the organisation. The role reports directly to the Finance Manager and will provide support in administering all financial controls and processing for the organisation.  The successful applicant will come from a financial background with a strong understanding of financial principles, an accounting qualification and proficiency in Excel.  They will have experience in bookkeeping, reconciling accounts as well as dealing with banking, grant applications and expenses. 

The role would suit an individual, who is approachable and organised, with excellent attention to detail, able to work on their own or as part of a team.  The role involves liaising and following up with all teams to ensure the data provided is accurate and timely, to support grant applications, payments and audit requirements.

To be successful, they will need to be able to multitask, be proactive and have excellent communication skills, following up and advising staff across all teams.  They will need to have a positive attitude, and willingness to assist the whole team with other administrative tasks as and when required.  This role is predominantly working from home, with at least one day per week, (on a Thursday), working in the office in Leatherhead.

This is a part time position, (of 3 or 4 days per week), to include Monday and Thursday (this being our in office day).  There may be a requirement to pick up additional hours to support with busy periods.

Thames Chase Community Forest was established in 1990 and covers an area of 98 square miles on the edge of east London and south-west Essex. Thames Chase Trust welcomes around 65,000 visitors per year to the Forest Centre complex. The architecturally acclaimed Visitor Centre is the information hub for the entire Community Forest and includes a cafe, shop, and public toilets. The complex also includes a 17th century barn, original stable block, refurbished Education Room, and farm cottages.

Our dedicated and friendly Forest Centre team seeks to provide the best possible visitor experience and to continue to develop and grow the complex. You will manage volunteers and five members of staff focussed on the Forest Centre complex. The staff team includes four Forest Centre Assistants and one Forest Centre Caretaker. You will also work closely with the Progammes Team whose focus is project delivery across the Community Forest.
