We're seeking an experienced and inspirational leader to Chair our Independent Advisory Group (IAG) whose role is to provide independent advice to the Travalyst Board and Secretariat on the delivery of Travalyst’s strategy. As Chair, you'll provide independent strategic guidance, critical insights, and expert advice to shape Travalyst’s initiatives and impact. This role requires a commitment of approximately 1-2 days per month over an initial two-year term (with the possibility of renewal).

Your Impact

• Set the IAG’s agenda and priorities, in close collaboration with the Travalyst CEO and Board Chair.

• Chair a minimum of six virtual meetings per year, bringing all IAG Members together to share learning and provide strategic business updates; ensuring that divergent opinions are heard and respected, and that the group forms a collective view when needed.

• Ensure that the IAG’s advice is timely, relevant, and delivered appropriately to the Board and/or Secretariat.

• Attending Travalyst Board meetings to give updates on IAG activities, performance and learnings (likely 1-2 per year).

• Attending Travalyst’s Annual Convening (likely 2 days per year, usually in Europe).

• Regular strategy and operations meetings with the Secretariat and Travalyst COO.

• Regular status meetings and 1:1 check-ins with IAG Members.

• Regular status meetings with the Travalyst Secretariat.

• Ad hoc meetings, calls, reading/ document reviews, and email exchanges.

• Be accountable for the performance of the IAG.

• Champion Travalyst’s work externally.

About the IAG

Our IAG is comprised of a global group of some of the world’s leading travel and sustainability experts. The role of the IAG is to provide independent advice to the Travalyst Board and Secretariat on the delivery of Travalyst’s strategy. Its primary remit is the expert review of Travalyst’s product roadmaps, including impact evaluation. In addition, the IAG’s proactive advice is invited on any topic, including Travalyst’s strategy and theory of change.

The IAG currently has six members, appointed as a core group of experts with a systemic view of travel and tourism. We expect this group to grow to 8-10 members during 2025/6, to fill specific gaps in expertise. IAG Members are appointed by the Secretariat, in consultation with the IAG Chair.

Where needed, the IAG may form a task group (including external subject matter experts) with a clear, time-bound remit. External subject matter experts are appointed by the Secretariat, in consultation with the IAG Chair.

The IAG sets its agenda and priorities through close collaboration between the IAG Chair, Travalyst CEO, and Travalyst Board Chair. It is accountable to its Terms of Reference, which are approved by the Board.

Who you are

You are a visionary leader passionate about sustainability and global travel transformation.

Ideally, you have one or more of the following:

• Strong chairing experience, particularly of groups with divergent and nuanced opinions.

• Existing profile and credibility with sustainability stakeholders, in line with the ambition and future scale of Travalyst.

• Good knowledge of, and networks across the global travel and tourism industry, or sustainability data technology, or similar industry.

• Good knowledge of research methods, and the ability to discern robust arguments made from research.

Support available to you as IAG Chair

Operational support from the Secretariat will include:

• Ensuring the smooth operational running of the IAG to deliver its agenda, priorities and roadmap.

• Preparing, supporting and debriefing IAG meetings, and managing records of key advice and decisions.

• Leading recruitment and onboarding of new IAG Members and/or subject matter experts.

• Monitoring IAG governance processes and performance, and making recommendations for improving processes.

Honorarium

The IAG Chair will be offered an annual honorarium, in recognition of the critical role played by the IAG and the time commitment required for full participation and leadership.

Additionally, pre-approved reasonable out-of-pocket expenses can be reimbursed, where required.

Make a Change 

Make a Change is a community-wide, early response approach to people using abusive behaviours (or who are concerned that they might be) towards a current or ex-partner. The model has been developed by Respect in partnership with Women’s Aid Federation England, drawing inspiration from their Change that Lasts approach. It includes three strands: expert support programme for perpetrators with parallel support for survivors, workforce development and community outreach.

Improving the safety, freedom and wellbeing of adult and child survivors of domestic abuse is a key outcome for our work with perpetrators.  The Make a Change model is a multi-partner project offering local areas a framework for delivering perpetrator work. The Role

Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in leading the finance function. The Head of Finance reports to the Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) and is responsible for the ensuring the smooth day to day operations of the finance function, including maintaining and ensuring accuracy of organisation's financial records, supporting all financial strategies and financial operations. They are responsible for all accounting, financial reporting and budgeting functions of the organisation, and with guidance ensures the organisation adheres to relevant regulatory and accounting principles. They work closely with the DFO to manage information exchange, integration and collaboration with our US sister organisation.  Playing a vital role in the finance function they ensure accurate financial data capture and high-quality financial reporting while driving automation and efficiency across financial processes. They will work closely and collaboratively with budget holders, particularly in programs and philanthropic partnerships teams, providing them with meaningful financial insight and advice.

They will also play a key role in understanding and managing program/project funding (both restricted and unrestricted) and collaborate with the Programme Funding Manager ensuring effective tracking of restricted and unrestricted income and expenditure within GGF.

The ability to leverage Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks and other financial tools (policies, processes and software) will be crucial in optimising our financial systems and improving processes.

The candidate profile.

The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, social justice, feminist, gender, human rights organisation, and/or grant-making organisation. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced finance professional with a relevant accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or AAT) experience in the charity or non-profit sector. They will value transparency and accountability, demonstrating strong critical thinking and, strategic risk management. They will have a deep understanding of UK GAAP accounting principles and a strong background in financial management, including budgeting, financial controls, grant processing, and audit preparation. Proficiency in financial systems, particularly QuickBooks Advanced or similar accounting software, as well as advanced Excel skills, is essential. The candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritising workloads in a fast-paced and evolving environment. With a proven ability to oversee financial processes, implement automation strategies, and manage treasury functions, they will also be confident in providing financial insights and risk assessments to senior leadership. Experience working in an international organisation and knowledge of exchange rate risk management would be advantageous. They also thrive in a virtual environment, motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions. Multiple language skills would be ideal, while English fluency is a must.

Why Access Social Care Exists 

Every day millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, and none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us - we will all need social care at some point in our lives. 

We all have a right to hold public bodies to account, but most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 92% drop in legal aid cases since 2010 means that we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.

Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it. 

With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers provide access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. We are working towards a future where social care is adequately funded and we all get the support we need. 

We provide rights awareness training to front line managers, and legal advice and support to families and individuals. As well as providing access to justice, our aim is to drive system level change through evidence-led influencing and strategic casework.
