Operations Coordinator
Responsible to: Director of Finance & Risk

We are seeking an individual with strong administration skills to join our team in the role of Operations Coordinator and support our mission to end homelessness.  This role will support the administrative and operational functions within our offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, together with our coffee shops and Village, whilst being the first point of contact for inbound enquiries. 

We are looking for a well organised individual, with good problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude to become part of our friendly team and are keen to learn and develop. 

What you’ll be doing:

· Ensuring our offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow are fit for purpose, providing an environment that is welcoming to both staff and external visitors.

· Managing and responding to inbound email and telephone enquiries.

· Manging shop related customer orders, inbound enquiries and invoicing.

· Supporting elements of finance administration, especially during holiday periods. 

· Booking travel, accommodation, training courses and supporting colleagues with other business-related purchases.

· Maintaining the health and safety maintenance tracker and supporting colleagues with actions and maintenance required in each of our operational units and at our Village.

· Arranging meetings and taking minutes if required.

· Supporting with data protection compliance and updating records and policies.

· Supporting the Finance & Risk Director in ensuring our IT systems are safe and secure, in conjunction with our external IT support. 

· Compliance with legislation and adherence to best practice.

· Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with other administrative and operational matters as reasonably required.

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Supported Housing Manager to join our 16+ Older Looked After Young People (OLYP), Care Leavers and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC)services. Our services delivers specialist supported accommodation where young people are supported to acquire the necessary skills in preparation for living independently, safely explore their increased freedom of choice and develop responsibilities associated with adulthood, whilst still having the appropriate level of support from an experienced team. The service aims to support residents into independent accommodation through life skills support. In delivering the role, you will report to the Supported Housing Manager and be responsible for:

Service Provision: Supporting the Supported Housing Manager with the daily operations of the services so that they meet the requirements of the service specification including compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) and Ofsted regulations. Oversee the residents’ referral, interview and induction processes for all beds and ensure the Occupancy Agreements and House Rules are fully understood. Ensure the quality of accommodation that is provided, liaising with the Housing and Property Services team to complete estate inspections and health & safety risk assessments, and to turn around voids and organise repairs in line with organisational targets and statutory obligations. With the Supported Housing Manager ensure effective monitoring of move on options are met. 

Leadership and People Management: Directly line manage team members, ensuring their service delivery, working culture and personal development mirror best practice. Ensuring the team is adequately trained and empowered to work effectively and creatively with our young people to enable them to achieve their aspirations and ambitions, whilst ensuring they are supported within safe and consistent boundaries.

General: Be a member of the ‘on call’ rota to provide out of hours management support to projects in the wider locality. Reflect Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs), Trauma Informed approaches and restorative practices.

You will already have experience working in supported housing, or similar services for young people and/or adults at risk, as well as managing and/or supervising a team. You will have working knowledge of Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) and Ofsted, along with working knowledge of Trauma Informed Care and Psychologically Informed Environments. You will have good communication and facilitation skills and the ability to successfully manage challenging situations whilst remaining calm and solution focused. In addition, you will have experience of overseeing safeguarding procedures for young people or adults at risk in residential settings, and knowledge of how to maintain professional boundaries.

Our client is one of the largest women's hostels in the UK for vulnerable women affected by homelessness. They offer support to women with a range of complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health issues and domestic violence, and provide these support services in a warm, welcoming and secure environment. They are now recruiting for a strong and supportive manager to help lead their Support Services. This role is initially a 6 month fixed term contract with possibility of permanency. 

As Support Services Manager, you will line manage a team of frontline staff and will oversee the Support and Night services, consisting of 30 bed spaces for women with high support complex needs; the service aims to offer holistic support to these women, working alongside a range of partner organisations to facilitate a step-down move-on for women into semi-independent living. You will work to create and maintain key partnerships, continually ensuring that a high quality of service is delivered to all service users of the Project.

To be considered for this position, you must have significant housing management experience, as well as extensive knowledge and appreciation of the challenges faced by homeless women. You must have demonstrable experience of leading frontline staff, as well as significant safeguarding experience. You will also have proven working experience of contract monitoring and of setting and influencing strategy. Ultimately you will be enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated to leading a team to deliver the best quality of support to vulnerable homeless women.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our small but professional and friendly development team to continue the delivery of our high-quality new build homes programme.

We design our homes to high standards, incorporating local architectural features. Our ‘fabric first’ approach to design and construction, coupled with and our commitment to renewable energy technologies, aims to reduce environmental impact and running costs for our residents. We build beautiful homes that villages can be proud of. Our approach involves forming a community led local partnership to research, enable and deliver affordable rural homes.

Working under the leadership of the Development Director and collaboratively with internal colleagues and external consultants and contractors, the role will be to fully coordinate from inception to completion the day-to-day project management of rural exception site housing delivery (noting, we do deliver some through selective Section 106 planning gain schemes). Our typical sites are around six to ten affordable homes, although we can also develop a small number of outright sale homes through our subsidiary ER Homes Ltd to cross subsidise the affordable homes.

About you:

To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record in working and successfully delivering affordable housing development and preferably rural housing. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work both collaboratively and independently. It takes a special project manager with professionalism, enthusiasm, tenacity and a great deal of pride to stay the course and deliver these small, often challenging yet ultimately rewarding community housing schemes. The right candidate will also have sufficient technical expertise, from a formal qualification or direct experience. We are looking for a full-time Shelter Coordinator to join our small and friendly team to lead the successful delivery of our shelter operations for the 2024-25 winter season. 

C4WS Homeless Project provides support to those experiencing homelessness throughout the year via a well-established winter night shelter in Camden, a lunchtime club, Jobs Club, hosting scheme, mentoring scheme and various other activities. We are passionate about helping people rebuild their lives after homelessness and working towards living independently. 
 
Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for coordinating the practical and day-to-day running of our shelters, which will involve: 

• Ensuring each shelter has enough trained volunteers to safely operate
• Ensuring each shelter has all the practical equipment and resources needed 
• Liaising with and supporting church volunteer teams 
• Being the main staff presence at shelter shifts 
• Responsible for managing our weekly Friday Club drop in 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with people who are experiencing homelessness or other similarly disadvantaged groups, an efficient and practical approach, warm and friendly nature, and a can-do attitude.
 
The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly whilst the shelter is operating. This includes some evenings (9:30pm finish), and some weekend shifts and bank holidays, as per a weekly-changing rota, and therefore is required to display considerable flexibility. Please only apply if you feel you can commit to this.

We are seeking an innovative and creative Director to ensure the delivery of Acis vision, values, and business plan - providing clear direction and effective leadership to support a culture and climate which inspires service excellence.

You will play a critical role in shaping and delivering this new Directorate covering community investment. Having recently launched our Corporate Strategy which will take us through to 2030 you will be joining the organisation at the start of a very exciting journey. 

As Director of Community Investment, a typical day might include:

• Liaising with Board Members, the Chief Executive and other Directors on matters of corporate management and business development.
• Working on business strategy and policy formulation at Board and Executive Leadership Team level to help achieve the Company’s overall objectives.
• Directing the Community Investment teams on matters relating to the delivery of our community investment activities and services across education, employability, wellbeing and student accommodation services – ensuring profitability, growth and effective service delivery to enable us to make a measurable difference in our customers’ lives.

What we really need to see: 

• You’ll be an innovative and creative thinker able to consider new ideas whilst recognising the constraints of the highly regulated environment in which we work.
• Substantial experience of working in a senior manager role or higher in a medium to large sized organisation – and all that that role entails.
• A clear influencer, negotiator, problem solver and relationship developer – who knows how to get the job done and with the commercial experience to win and grow new business through new funding opportunities.
• A real understanding of social value and how organisations like ours can leverage external funding to deliver more.
• A strong knowledge of how grant, contract and framework funding works including in depth understanding of tendering and bidding processes to ensure we maximise our value for money and drive profitability.  Additionally, a background in operational delivery or contract management of these funds, particularly within funded streams such as ESFA, DWP and centralised grant funding.
• Experience of Ofsted, regulatory bodies, audit and compliance regimes.

We are looking for a dynamic and detail orientated leader to cover our Head of Learning and Development role to ensure that our people learn the skills and gain the knowledge that they need to do their best work with our clients.

About the role:

We're looking for someone with the values, skills and knowledge to lead our learning and development function for a fixed period that will include project, budget, team and people management, developing new programmes of learning, commissioning training, developing an annual training plan and developing current systems and processes.

Particular projects and workstreams that you would pick up in this role would include developing and rolling out a new programme of learning for our night staff, increasing our benefit from apprenticeships and building on our existing training for future, new and established managers.

Hybrid working is the norm for us at the moment, so a mix of home and office working is what you'll get, as well as our other benefits. The Learning and Development Team share responsibility for opening up our training spaces across London, so expect to regularly (roughly 2 days per week) be working across multiple sites including Vauxhall and Leyton. The Role:

As a Senior Outreach Worker, you will support the Service Manager in overseeing the smooth operation of local projects, ensuring the team is well-supported and delivering person-centred support to clients. Board Member – Finance
Hours: Time commitment includes: 4 evening meetings per year for Committee meetings (remote), 5 evening meetings per year for Board meetings (Currently three hybrid, 2 in person meetings only meetings), ISHA’s AGM, 2 Board away days (January and November) and time to prepare for the meetings. You may also be asked to participate in board ‘task & finish’ groups. Members are required to attend one resident event per year.

We are seeking someone who has senior level skills and experience in financial management and business planning and would also like to sit on ISHA’s audit and risk committee. ISHA’s code of governance requires that this committee has at least one person with recent and relevant financial experience proportionate to the size and complexity of the organisation (turnover 29 million, total assets £321 million. Our more senior board member with this experience is due to retire in 2025 and we are looking to fill this vacancy.
