Havering Complex Needs Pathway: Offers support to 23 residents across 5 services for individuals with low to medium level complex needs. The pathway is designed to support residents and participants in the Havering Borough to reintegrate back into the community and prepare for independent living. This role would be a floating officer based in the Havering borough supporting across the numerous services providing Intensive Housing management support. 

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, 9:00AM -17:00PM or 13:00PM - 21:00PM Monday - Sunday, Onsite. 

Salary: £26,100

JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a maternity cover for our Trust & Foundations Manager role. Passionate about Trust Fundraising at a high level and about UNHCR’s work, this role is involved in the cultivation and stewardship of some our biggest and most established trust and foundation donors.

You will join our small but talented Philanthropy Team supporting on identifying and bringing on board new and prospective trust and foundation supporters, and securing repeat income from key relationships.

You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO, trustees and international colleagues to steward and cultivate donor relationships. An experienced fundraiser, you will provide strategic insight into how we grow and improve our programme. 

You will be confident in navigating complex environments with multiple stakeholders and in negotiating internally as well as externally. You will enjoy developing strong relationships, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and will be adept at managing prospect pipelines and crafting compelling donor communications.

This role is also responsible for managing the Senior Trusts and Foundations Officer and will provide support, mentorship and coaching to help the development of this role.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES

• Manage the Senior Officer working on trusts and foundations. 
• Work as part of the Philanthropy Team to develop new opportunities with trusts and foundation donors in line with UK for UNHCR’s fundraising strategy, achieving six figure income targets.
• Support the development and management of a robust prospect pipeline and a calendar of opportunities for grant submissions, engagement, cultivation and stewardship of donors.
• Work with the wider international organisation to identify the most appropriate funding propositions for donors.
• Craft compelling propositions and proposals for trusts and foundation donors and ensure quality and timely reporting on donations made.
• Establish a strategic and tactical response to selected prospects and existing trust and foundation donors in the event of humanitarian emergencies.
• Work independently and with the prospect researcher to gather up-to-date and accurate information on existing and prospective donors.
• Maintain accurate records on Salesforce, for income recording and earmarking.
• Work with the wider team to deliver bespoke trust and foundation activities including virtual and in-person events.
• Help to position and raise awareness of UK for UNHCR’s role among peers, donors and other audiences by participating in sector networks and representing UK for UNHCR at events, as appropriate.
• Work within UK for UNHCR’s due diligence policy and data protection policies and processes.
• Support the Philanthropy team in other activities, as requested. 

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE 

Essential Experience

• Experience of working in an income generating capacity within an NGO, INGO or fundraising organisation to identify, approach, secure and steward trusts & foundation gifts at the five, six and seven figure gift level.
• Experience of developing donor care plans and delivering bespoke proposals and communications to generate income.
• Experience of managing a prospect pipeline.
• Experience working on complex proposals involving multiple stakeholders.

Essential Skills/Knowledge  

• Confident communicator with the ability to effectively influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse reports and communicate complex themes and subjects in an accessible and compelling manner in writing and verbally.

About MammaKind

MammaKind alleviates hardship for mums with young children living in poverty across Greenwich, Lewisham, Bromley, and Bexley. We gather new and pre-loved donations of clothing, toiletries, and equipment, distributing them through a network of over 100 referral partners, including NHS professionals, local councils, and charities. In 2023, we supported 2,677 individuals, including 1,519 children across 917 families with donations valued at £809,854.

Driven by a dedicated group of parent volunteers focused on reducing child poverty, MammaKind envisions a capital where every child has access to the essential items necessary for thriving.

Purpose of Role

Regifting pre-loved and new baby equipment, clothes, and toys to families in poverty is at the heart of what we do.

The warehouse manager plays a pivotal role managing the warehouse and volunteers to streamline the donation process, ensuring safety, compliance, and effective stock management from donation intake to distribution. Working towards our overall organisational goals of supporting as many children as possible.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities

Warehouse management:

· Warehouse layout and organisation, to ensure that the donation and referral process is as efficient as possible. 

· Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy and compliant with health & safety legislation.

· Responsible for adherence to agreed Health & Safety policy in the warehouse, including responsibility for volunteer health & safety induction and their safety whilst on site.

· Managing warehouse budget (cleaning, maintenance) and contractor liaison for maintenance issues.

· Responsible for facilities management and one of the designated key holders for the warehouse.

· Expected to be based in the warehouse 5 days per week between 09.30 and 16.30.

Stock management.

 

· Ownership of the lifecycle of MammaKind’s stock from start to finish.

· Directing strategy for donations and targeted donation drives/providing guidance to social media channels to ensure that we are trying to obtain the goods we need and not those we don’t.

· Managing incoming donations (which arrive in volatile quantities): checking donated equipment. Ensuring the quality and compliance of donations meets MammaKind’s high standard.

· Liaison with Referrals Manager to ensure that warehouse is appropriately stocked for forthcoming referrals.

· Keeping records of stock levels to ensure that stock of particular items does not fall too low or rise too high.

· Buying of stock to replenish essentials (including collection of stock from suppliers), managing to agreed budgets.

· Download and print manuals for items to be sent to clients, creating instructions where no instructions are available online.

• Driving a delivery van to and from multiple sites moving equipment and stock. Unload and loading delivery van, sorting and placing items on to racks, and shelves and using trollies to move kit around.
• On occasion delivering referrals to referral partners and emergency referrals.

 

Volunteer Management

 

· Weekly co-ordination of volunteers for warehouse sessions (sorting and creating bundles for clients).

· Planning and organisation of volunteer sessions in terms of task management (to ensure stock levels are optimally maintained).

· Manage volunteers, ensuring they understand tasks, work to the standard of their training and to MammaKind’s standards. Serve as the point of contact for volunteer queries during sessions.

· Manage volunteer drivers with loading and despatch schedules such as arranging collections of donations and refuse centre trips.

· Coordinate with the Referral Manager and Head of Operations to manage stock levels. Using Salesforce data to determine core stock levels.

Operational Support:

 

· Actively foster an inclusive and supportive workplace culture in line with MammaKind’s values.

· Provide reports of donations to the Head of Operations and collaborate closely to refine and enhance processes as needed.

· Work closely with the Referral Manager & Head of Operations to ensure the smooth running of weekly activities, to ensure any priorities for that week are completed and any outstanding tasks are communicated to the Head of Operations.

· Monthly reporting against budget to Head of Operations.

· Represent MammaKind at community events as needed, including occasional Saturday Big Sorts.

Job Title: Finance Manager

Responsible for:

The Finance function for Groundwork Yorkshire and its trading subsidiaries.  May also be responsible for the management of temporary staff, outside consultants, contractors, secondees and volunteers.

 

Objective:

To lead an excellent finance function that serves Groundwork Yorkshire and its subsidiaries ensuring robust financial management, planning, compliance and continued modernization.  You will play a key role in coaching and supporting our programme managers to ensure they are able to achieve financial targets, and you will work closely with the Finance Director to drive profitability and efficiencies through continuous improvement and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Work with the senior management team and programme managers to monitor financial KPIs and budgets, reviewing and reforecasting as appropriate.

Manage and lead the Finance Team to maintain and develop the commitment and skills of all team members by regular communication, effective performance reviews and the provision of suitable training and development opportunities.

Maintain detailed insight into the financial position of the organisation, including monitoring cash flow, assessing the financial impact of proposed projects or activities, identifying opportunities for improvement, making financial adjustments and producing financial reports.

Produce monthly management accounts to an agreed timetable and communicate the results to the senior management team.

Provide sound, strategic financial advice to the Finance Director and senior management team to support the long-term financial viability of the charity and its trading subsidiaries.

Collaborate with programme managers to develop a detailed understanding of Groundwork’s full programme of activity, provide monthly financial analysis of each programme and liaise monthly with each of the programme managers individually to ensure they have a full understanding of their programme’s financial performance, highlighting any areas of risk and recommending remedial action.

Prepare year-end accounts ensuring statutory financial reporting for audit in line with SORP recommendations and requirements.  Take the lead on liaising with auditors and the successful delivery of the audit.

Ensure the accuracy of payroll and pension including liaising with pension providers, HMRC and other agencies as appropriate.

Ensure VAT is managed, and returns are accurately prepared and submitted.

Maintain all financial records and systems to a high standard of accuracy (including addressing any discrepancies in reconciliations) in accordance with accounting principles, auditing standards and to meet external legal and tax requirements.

Uphold the regulations outlined in the General Authorities Manual, maintain the fixed asset register and process depreciation.

Ensure financial management systems are effective and implement changes as required.

Comply with all requirements as set out in Groundwork Yorkshire’s Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Information Management and EDI policies and procedures.

As well as carrying out specific duties, participate in the wider activities of the charity and its trading companies.

Other duties as required by the Finance Director to ensure the efficient running of the section.

About the role

The Director of Services leads all our member-facing services to ensure that they are run effectively, are mission-led and are guided by co-production. The post holder is responsible for overseeing business planning and managing income streams, ensuring financial sustainability. They will maintain all relationships with local authorities, Integrated Care Boards, and private funders, ensuring the quality of services and adherence to best practices, regulations, and legislation. 

Principle duties and responsibilities

1. Provide strategic leadership to the service leads for all our member-facing services, to ensure the efficient delivery, quality, and consistency of services, guided by the principles of co-production.

2. Work with staff to ensure our members’ voices are at the centre of everything we do.

3. Oversee the development of plans and strategies for each team and instil a sense of collaboration, common goals, and working together across the departments to ensure the sustainability of our services.

4. Support the teams and work with the Directors of Development and Fundraising to explore new opportunities to develop our business to generate income. 

5. Build good relationships with stakeholders in the boroughs we serve to develop opportunities for growth and development of our services.

6. Lead on commissioning/tender/framework contracting arrangements with the local authorities we serve.

7. Lead on safeguarding and health and safety to ensure we are compliant in all areas.

8. Implement effective ways to evidence the outcomes of our members and the impact of our services to demonstrate our impact, support our service development and contribute to funding report requirements.

9. Contribute to the effective leadership and administration of Headway East London working as part of the Senior Management Team and supporting the Board in setting the strategic direction of the organisation.

10. Oversee all budgets within the department. 

11. Contribute to budgeting and financial planning working with the Chief Executive, Directors of Finance, Development, and Fundraising.

12. Work with the managers and the Finance team to ensure unit costs are correct and work to ensure full costs of the service are recovered from customers.

About the role

At a time of growth and of new opportunities for the Motability Foundation, we are looking for a Public Affairs Manager to join our Communications Team and lead our Public Affairs activity for the organisation.

Our vision is to fund, support, research, and innovate, so all disabled people can make the journeys they choose. There are an estimated 16 million disabled people in the UK, and this role will play a crucial part in our work to raise awareness of the work of the Motability Foundation, amplify the voices of disabled people and to influence policy.

·This new role will work alongside our new Evidence and Policy Manager, based in our Innovation team, and other colleagues across the organization as well as key partners (Motability Operations), to manage our horizon scanning and monitoring of the political landscape, leading on advising our Governors, CEO and senior management team on actions we need to take, and preparing detailed briefings for engagements, and events with Parliamentarians and senior Ministers. The role holder will develop, implement and lead our Public Affairs and Government Engagement Plan, and proactively identify and develop opportunities to influence and shape policy where it may have a positive impact for disabled people.

With a General Election and potential welfare reform on the horizon, this role is especially important and experience in creating and implementing post-election public affairs strategies, leading activities across the team and devising and managing structured results reporting to the organisation, is highly desirable.

 

What you will be doing

• Develop, implement and manage our public affairs strategy, leading on public affairs activities aligned with the Motability Foundation’s vision and overall strategy.
• Amplify the Motability Foundation’s voice in Parliament, across the devolved nations, and in political spheres, building, developing and managing relationships with parliamentarians, decision-makers and stakeholders.
• Manage our horizon scanning and monitoring of the political, legislative and regulatory landscape in relation to the work of the Motability Foundation, leading on advising the business on actions we need to take.
• Provide sharp political intelligence, insight, advice and briefings for Governors, directors, senior management and a variety of audiences across the organization.
• Support the establishment of the Motability Foundation’s policy positions and delivering our influencing objectives.
• Manage a contact program for Parliamentarians, raising awareness of the work of the Motability Foundation, establishing regular meetings for senior leaders where relevant, and facilitating dialogue on issues relevant to our work.
• Working closely with the Evidence and Policy Manager to manage the dissemination of any policy output for presentation to the external world.

Your experience

Must haves:

• Strong grasp of parliamentary processes in Westminster, Scotland and the other devolved nations.

Role Purpose:

This role oversees a team of community support workers and volunteers, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. As part of a small, dynamic team, the Service Delivery Manager will contribute to fundraising, communications, and event management, while supporting the Director of Operations, Engagement, and Services in executing strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management

- Oversee the daily operations of community support services, ensuring the effective delivery of support to individuals affected by MCAS.
- Lead and manage a large team of volunteers, working with the HR team to coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training to maintain high service standards.

Person Specification:

Essential:

- Proven experience in operations management, preferably within a charity or community services setting.

Bringing the Mast Cell Activation Syndrome community together

Our client is a small UK rare disease charity. Our client established at the end of 2015 to respond to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). MCAS is a crippling, unpredictable and frightening condition affecting the immune system. Sufferers from MCAS have “wrongly programmed” immune systems that react to a wide range of triggers including food, drink, stress, temperature and many others. The effects range from unpleasant allergic reactions, through to an overall debilitation resulting in people being unable to leave their houses. It was first recognised internationally in 1990, with a set of diagnostic criteria agreed in 2011, but is little known or understood in the UK, where incidence seems to be increasing. Here patients can wait 3-5 years for a diagnosis, often receive very little knowledge or help from within the medical establishment and can find themselves in a frightening limbo.

Strategy & Budget Management

● Work with the Head of Fundraising to deliver a strategy and Ops plan that covers Community, Events, Mass, and third-party Fundraising.
● Support the Fundraising Executive to project manage an existing portfolio of events and introduce new products to grow the programme, incorporating digital/virtual fundraising.
● Review the portfolio of events and build new income generation opportunities for 25/26 and beyond to uplift income and grow supporter participation.
● Set, monitor, and report against budget figures, feeding into forecasting and monthly KPIs, and reporting any concerns to the Head of Fundraising.
● Lead the development and growth strategy for third-party relationships and high-value community supporters.
● Undertake regular reviews of activity including ROI analysis, report progress v budget, and implement actions as required.

You'll be at the heart of our local community, bringing our cause to life and building lasting relationships with our stakeholders and the wider Cotswolds Community.

Responsibilities

• You’ll identify and prioritise a pool of potential Trusts and Foundations funders for Cirencester Food Bank and, working with colleagues, you’ll develop authentic, compelling, creative and winning funding bids that can successfully engage new and existing Trusts and Foundations funders.
• You’ll work closely with and support the Head of Cirencester Food Bank and the Foodbank’s Treasurer in maintaining and evolving existing relationships, and seeking and pursuing new funding and grant opportunities.
• You’ll engage with local community groups, associations, events, schools and businesses in order to inform and educate on the causes of, and solutions to food poverty and to grow the Foodbank’s community fundraising reach and income.
• Utilising the knowledge gathered from the local community and the Foodbank, you will provide input into relevant stakeholder groups to help end the need for foodbanks.
• You’ll generate and distribute communications to stakeholders and community groups about the work of the Foodbank, which will include: marketing and information brochures, the Foodbank’s annual food poverty report and other external messaging in written, published social and electronic formats
• You’ll represent the Foodbank at community events to ensure effective sharing of the work of the Foodbank, and to develop relationships
• Capitalising on your community connections in the local area, you will support the Foodbank’s Operations Manager in raising awareness of the need for food donations if stocks become critically low, or for key campaigns around Harvest and Christmas.
