About the opportunity

The Birmingham Programme Coordinator will be responsible for managing a caseload of up to seven partner schools, attending and coordinating weekly tutoring sessions, developing relationships with pupils, school staff and volunteer tutors and collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes. This role plays a crucial part in overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring sessions to ensure effective and impactful programme delivery.

Duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. This includes working closely to manage and effectively communicate with all key stakeholders: schools, pupils and volunteer tutors; leading weekly face to face and online tutoring sessions; leading on reviewing and improving programme delivery, using data to reliably assess programme performance.
• Responsible for overseeing the quality of both face to face and online tutoring, engaging in quality assurance processes, and providing feedback to volunteer tutors to ensure effective and impactful delivery.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in partner schools, including members of the Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers.
• Update and maintain Action Tutoring’s database, including collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as attendance records, baseline and interim assessments and end of programme surveys. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators.

Salary: £26,368 per annum 

Contract and hours: Permanent, full-time. We offer flexible hours with 9.30-4 as core hours. A
full working week is 37.5 hours.

Chief Executive Officer

About the role: 

As Chief Executive Officer you will have overall executive leadership for Citizens Advice East Berkshire, working with the management team and the Trustee Board to devise and implement strategic and operational plans. • Maintain financial control of the service within budget heads agreed by the trustee board ensuring that financial resources are properly administered and monitored.

About you: 

We are looking for a confident leader who wants to work with us to ensure we are a high performing, sustainable organisation. You will need to bring with you the following skills and experience:

• Demonstrable experience of providing inspirational leadership to an organisation going through change, ideally gained at an organisation of comparable scale and complexity (c.30 staff, c.80 volunteers and a turnover of >£500K). 

• Understanding of and empathy for those who experience difficulties in modern society, and a desire to empower and support them to make decisions and act upon those decisions. 

• Demonstrable track record of successful income generation and business development through fundraising, commissioning and marketing activities.

• Demonstrable experience of influencing partners, stakeholders and funders

• Demonstrable track record of financial management and budgetary control, and ability to manage an organisational budget under the guidance of the treasurer. 

• Experience of leading, managing and motivating teams at all levels, building working relationships with colleagues, and demonstrating personal commitment to organisational and staff development.

Myeloma UK has an ambitious plan for income growth. We launched a new organisational strategy in 2024 and will launch our new research strategy in mid-2025. We’re making amazing progress in the research and treatment of myeloma – but we need to go further, faster. This position will play a critical role securing grants of up to £10K from trusts, foundations, and grant funders for a range of innovative and life-changing programmes – including patient and family support, research and advocacy.  The role will work closely with the Senior Trusts and Grants Officer, who leads on the medium and large grants programme, and income from pharmaceutical partners.

The post holder will deliver the grant process from start-to-finish including administration, research, and managing and growing a pipeline of small trusts. You will work with colleagues from across the charity to build high quality proposals and develop reports for funders. You will also work directly with funders to understand their priorities and offer excellent stewardship.

About Richmond Borough Mind and the Service:

Richmond Borough Mind (RB Mind) is a mental health charity dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of the local community. Our Peer Support Service in partnership with the NHS South West London and St George’s Trust provides emotional support, guidance, and community connections for unpaid carers supporting loved ones with mental health challenges.

This role is part of the Community Mental Health Transformation Programme (CMHTP), an initiative designed to improve support for those with severe and enduring mental health conditions by integrating care across the NHS, community services, and the voluntary sector.

Role Purpose:

The Carers Senior Peer Support Worker will coordinate and deliver peer support services for unpaid carers across Richmond. This includes leading a small team, providing direct support, facilitating peer groups, and collaborating with local partners to ensure carers receive holistic, high-quality support.

Drawing on their own lived experience as a carer or supporting mental health recovery, the post-holder will offer guidance, share best practices, and ensure carers feel empowered and supported in their wellbeing journey.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Leadership and Coordination:

Person Specification:

Essential:

Experience in asset management, technical surveying and delivering customer satisfaction are essential, as well as knowledge and experience as a Domestic Energy Assessor. The right candidate will have sufficient technical expertise, either from a formal qualification or direct experience.

But we have a lot to do. Liverpool still has high levels of food insecurity, stark health inequalities and a community food movement that is vulnerable to food inflation and supply issues.

Main purposes of job:

• To collaborate with Liverpool City Council in reviewing policies and procedures to embed Good Food principles across relevant departments and programmes of work.

• To lead initiatives that improve food provision for children and young people in education and learning settings across Liverpool.

• To scope and secure funding opportunities to advance the goals of the Good Food Plan.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and advise on policies and strategies to integrate Good Food principles into council operations, contributing to Sustainable Food Places silver award submission.

• Represent Feeding Liverpool and Liverpool City Council at local and national events.

Key tasks:

• Work across council departments to align policies with Good Food principles and city-wide objectives, including the Carbon Neutral 2030 Plan.

• Prepare reports, briefings, and recommendations for senior leadership and elected members.

• Coordinate Liverpool’s Sustainable Food Places application.

• Develop guidance and advice for stakeholders to advance sustainable food practices, including influencing procurement and planning policies.

Winchester City Penguins Swimming Club  (WCPSC) based in Hampshire is looking for a CEO who will report to the Board of Trustees. We are looking for an inspirational leader to support the Charity's strategic direction and for the day-to-day management of the Charity, including operations, line management and membership relations

WCPSC is a registered charity which exists to create opportunities through swimming. We have been teaching Winchester to swim since 1901 and have been at the heart of creating swimming opportunities ever since. Over recent years WCPSC has seen significant growth in its lesson’s programmes and the number of swimmers competing at county, regional and national levels.

Almost uniquely among swimming clubs, we run a community outreach programme which aims to ensure inclusive access to swimming for all. We believe swimming is a fundamental life skill, which increases individuals’ safety near water as well as developing confidence, dedication, and responsibility. Through our community programme we run a series of local projects to increase accessibility to swimming regardless of ability or background, with our aim to ensure that all children leaving primary school can swim 25 metres.

About the role
The CEO is a pivotal role at Winchester City Penguins Swimming Club. We are looking for an inspirational leader who together with the Board of Trustees, will set the strategic direction of the charity.

Organisational Background

The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933.

Cara has been a lifeline to academics at risk for just over 90 years, as and when world events have placed them in the line of fire: Hungarian Uprising, Cold War, Apartheid South Africa, Iran, Latin American Juntas, Vietnam, Kosovo, DRC, Rwanda, Sudan, Zimbabwe etc. and, more recently Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Cara support is typically framed as temporary sanctuary offered at times of heightened risk.

Cara Objectives ‘To assist academics who have been, or are, or are at risk of being, subject to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence on account of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, to relieve needs among them and their dependants and ensure that their specialist knowledge and abilities can continue to be used for the benefit of the public.’

‘To advance education by supporting academics and their educational institutions in countries where their continuing work is at risk or compromised, to ensure that such academics and institutions can continue to fulfil their critical role as educators for the public benefit.’

Fellowship Programme Assistant Role & Responsibilities

Casework

- Provide support for a caseload of at-risk academics (Cara Fellows) carrying out research placements at UK or international universities

- Assess Fellows’ suitability for academic placements/extensions

- Assess, arrange or signpost additional support for Fellows

- Develop relationships with universities and other partner organisations

- Secure fee waivers, bursaries & in-kind support from universities, research institutes and other funding bodies.

- Provide logistical support for visa processes, travel, etc.

- Write and send official documents to Fellows

Administration
