Since its establishment in 2011, the Foundation has focused on addressing key issues and promoting positive change in the communities it serves through strategic grant-making and partnerships.

The foundation donates £5-6 million a year in operational grants and funds a diverse portfolio of charities in the UK and Israel. Its focus areas include mainstreaming a preventative approach to health, creating a more cohesive society in Israel, and strengthening the UK Jewish and Brighton communities.

As the Foundation's portfolio and engagement across its funding areas has grown over the past few years, they are now seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Grants Manager to join their small, dynamic team.

The Senior Grants Manager will play a key role in managing the Foundation's grant-making efforts. Supporting grantees over a multi-year journey to helping them achieve their goals, the Senior Grants Manager will need to be an excellent relationship-builder, with a strong knowledge of philanthropy, and a dedication to enhancing impact through effective grant-making.

Key responsibilities

• Grant Management & Compliance: Oversee all stages of the grant lifecycle, ensuring alignment with Foundation guidelines, values, and objectives.
• Relationship & Stakeholder Management: Cultivate strong relationships with grantees, charities, and non-profit organisations, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Strategic Planning & Funding Prioritisation: Collaborate with leadership to design and implement strategies that reflect the Foundation's mission and goals, while identifying emerging opportunities.
• Evaluation & Reporting: Monitor grantee outcomes, assess programme effectiveness, and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders and board members, highlighting impact and progress.

The Senior Grants Manager will have at least 5 years' experience in grant management, preferably in a philanthropic or not-for-profit organisation, or experience of grant-making, carrying out grant assessments and grant reports. The successful candidate will have a strong level of analytical skills, strong experience of working with a grant management database (The Bloom Foundation uses Blackbaud) and an interest in learning from grant making to inform future practice. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely and the ability to think strategically. You will have good relationship building skills and a high level of diplomacy and able to deliver in a fast-paced environment. You will be proficient in office software packages, including MS Office and Excel and confident working accurately with figures.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player. You will be interested in and committed to contributing to the overall success of a small and highly motivated organisation with a versatile and flexible approach and a "can do" attitude.

The role is based in a modern, vibrant office in Camden on the canal. You will initially work 4 days a week in the office with 1 day from home. Following a successful probation period, your working pattern will be a minimum of 3 days in the office with 2 days from home. There will be some evening events, and some travel involved nationally to visit grantees. Operations

On-site at Glass Door Night shelter venues in the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham or Wandsworth

20 October 2024 to late April 2025 

Shifts from 6:45pm or 9:45pm to 7.15am (plus additional time if allocated driver). Hours and days of work will vary according to the needs of the service.

We are looking to recruit exceptional individuals with an open, collaborative style and a practical, can-do approach to provide a vital nightly service for our guests as Overnight Project Workers.

We value diversity and welcome all, in particular those with life experience and lived experience.

While experience of working within the homelessness sector or with similarly vulnerable people would be desirable, an understanding of the needs of people experiencing homelessness and working in a compassionate and flexible manner is more important and essential.

Flexibility is required, as you will be working a shift rota that will include weekends and public holidays. Due to the vulnerable group you will be working with, you will be asked to undergo an enhanced DBS check as part of our safeguarding measures prior to appointment.

Please note:

Some of our Overnight Project Workers are required to have a driving licence and be able to drive a manual vehicle.

However, this post also is still suitable for those that want a non-driving role.

On each shift, one of the two Overnight Project Workers will be an allocated driver and is expected to drive the van back to its local base in Fulham or Wandsworth, depending on the shelter circuit. The allocated driver for the shift will receive an additional hour of pay for this task.

What you will do as part of our team

The Overnight Project Worker is responsible for the following:

Job spec

• Maintaining a friendly, supportive environment and cultivating positive relationships with guests, colleagues, and volunteers.
• Following best practice procedures for the security and safety of the guests and volunteers.
• Diffusing difficult or dangerous situations and summon assistance when necessary. Training will be provided. Writing regular shift reports using the In-Form client relationship platform.
• Carrying out regular checks around the shelter, checking conditions of all areas.
• Ensuring that the van is loaded correctly with shelter provisions and that no Glass Door belongings are left on site.
• Adhering to Glass Door’s operational and health & safety policies in all aspects of your work. Maintaining clear lines of communication with your colleagues including the Night Shelter Manager, Caseworkers, and the Operations Manager.
• Ensuring cleaning protocols are followed and implemented.
• Undertaking any other duties to aid the good running of the project, as required by the Shelter Manager or Operations Manager.
• Accurately reporting observations, interactions, concerns and actions with guests to their caseworker using written reports.
• Setting up and help serve a simple breakfast for guests in the morning
• Ensuring all guests are woken from 6am onwards and leave the building by 7am
• Flexibility is required, as you will be working a shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays.

On occasions you will also be expected to attend training, team meetings and other activities as required. The allocated driver is expected to drive the van back to its allocated base at the end of the shift to which an additional hour of pay applies for this task.

As Exams Assistant you will support the day to day running of the examinations with a particular focus on question bank management. You will be working with the Examinations Team and examiners across all specialties. This will include supporting examiner panels to organise and run question writing sessions and ensuring that question banks remain up to date.

Role overview

This key role manages our flagship and award-winning project supporting refugees with IT Hardware. The project collects IT Hardware, refurbishes and repairs it through our network of technicians, matches it with a suitable recipient through our referral process and then distributes it to charities and individual refugees and asylum seekers at no cost to the recipient. The project is in its third year, in which it will grow to overseeing e-waste collection and tech re-sale.

This role has two central arms: project management and volunteer management. 

Overall management of the project includes key decision-making on tech refurbishment and distribution, building and maintaining key partnerships, impact reporting, staff management, external representation, developing and recording institutional memory and supporting the project's strategic growth with support from the Director. The postholder will be responsible for working with their team to maintain the smooth running of the project and deliver the project outcomes. They will deputise for the Director where necessary.

Volunteer management predominantly looks like the recruitment, coordination, training and retention of technical volunteers, many of whom are asylum seeking graduates of our tech training course. The post holder will be the go-to person for the volunteers and provide technical and management support with the help of our Technical Lead. 

We know good project managers have a variety of skills and experience. We are not running a personal specification, but the strongest applications will indicate staff management experience and basic knowledge of IT repair.

Outcome 1 - Manage the Digital Access project and the team working to deliver its outcomes 

• Oversee the logistics and operations involved in collecting, storing and redistributing large quantities of IT Hardware, including the distribution of Data SIM cards to recipients with support from your team.

• Work with the Engagement Manager to identify and communicate with businesses, individuals and other sources of IT Hardware to explain our process and the impact of the project.

Outcome 2 - Monitor, evaluate and communicate the impact of our device provision 

• Collate and present service user and device data (e.g use-case, age, geography) on a monthly and quarterly basis which represents our impact on the ground for internal and external audiences.

• Lead on the measurement of our impact through collection of case studies and distribution of our feedback form.

• Critically analyse and improve our impact measurement process to ensure it is ethical and fit for purpose.

• Work directly with service users, the Director and Communications team to produce compelling stories of the impact of Screen Share’s provision, with particular focus on our annual impact report.

Outcome 3 - Coordinate tech volunteers, external repair partners and technical staff (tech agents) to secure a regular flow of repair and refurbishment

• Oversee the process by which tech agents request and receive parts for the refurbishment process (hardware, software and tools).

• Work with our Technical Lead to ensure tech agents are provisioning devices consistently across our suite.

• Ensure the smooth implementation of changes to our technical provision.

We are looking for an agile, proactive individual who will join the team as Finance Manager working closely with the CEO and two finance officers to coordinate and deliver Black Minds Matter UK’s financial activities and strategic objectives.

Finance Manager
Location: Remote. With the option to attend a co-working hub on an ad hoc basis.
Salary: £36,000 per annum FTE (including London weighting)
Contract: Part time, 15-22.5 hours per week - permanent with time available Monday - Friday.

This role will be suited to someone who is detail oriented, highly effective at financial management and controls in a charity environment, able to support non-finance managers with budget management.

Qualifications and Experience:

Finance and Resources Manager (Full Time)

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.  

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. AAFDA’s prime function is to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.

I am delighted to be working with a fantastic charity in search of an Interim Finance Manager. This is a full-time, London based hybrid role for 6-months. As Finance Manager you will have responsibility for primarily the management accounts of the Charity. The Finance Manager will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager, the Head of Foundation and the rest of the Senior Leadership team to ensure that the Charity is financially controlled and effectively and efficiently managed in all areas of operation.

The Finance Manager is ‘hands-on’ leading and managing on the Foundation targets set out within the Foundation’s five year ‘Grow & Improve’ strategy. He/she works across all of the Foundation’s operations team and the Business team to ensure that all parts of the Charity are well managed and financially controlled, building the base on which the Foundation can continue to thrive and grow.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts on a timely basis and assistance with the timely preparation of the Finance Report for the regular Trustee meetings.

Assist to ensure that the Charity complies with all financial, reporting and record keeping requirements.

Assist with compliance issues with the Charity Commission and Companies House and associated regulations.

Support the development and implementation of the ‘Grow and Improve’ strategy, in close partnership with the Senior Finance Manager, Head of Foundation and the Senior Leadership Team with an ability to challenge ideas.

A Finance expert, who can support peers and staff to develop their financial competencies, while ensuring staff feel valued and respected to excel in their roles.

You demonstrate the business acumen and relationship building skills to financially manage and control the Charity including assistance with the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts and to manage the day to day financial transactions.

You have the skills and experience to manage and maintain the necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management on a cost effective basis.

Support on the writing of grant applications and reporting.

About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.

About the role

This is a new role at CoppaFeel! as we grow and develop our finance team. As the Senior Finance Manager, you will have responsibility for overseeing CoppaFeel!’s finances . The Senior Finance Manager will be a key role in providing support and analysis to help decision-making for Leadership team.

Strategic

• Support on the annual Budgeting and quarterly Forecasting process
• Support with long term financial plans

Reports

• Preparation of budget holder monthly reports and other internal financial reports

Stakeholder

• Support Auditors with audit information
• Line manage finance assistant/intern
• Create and maintain positive relationships with members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and team managers in order to aid in their understanding of budgets and financial statements, and to support them with their day-to-day budget management and finance needs.

Finance processing

• Manage day to day running of the finance function (Banking, team queries)
• Trial balance reconciliation and month end journals
• Manage and maintain appropriate financial policies and financial controls mitigating financial risk and implementing best practice.

Skills and experience

Essential

• Part qualified Accountant or qualified by experience
• Evidence of building successful working relationships externally and internally and at all levels of an organisation
• Able collaborate and use good interpersonal skills to navigate complex and or difficult conversations
• Ability to analyse complex information, problem solve and communicate findings effectively.
• Have good working knowledge of reporting requirements and UK charity regulations experience including SORP
• Have experience driving change and improving processes.
• Experience of line management
• Intermediate to advanced excel skills (pivot tables, sumifs, vlookups etc)

About the Role 

As Shop Support Manager, you will provide key operational support on defined areas, working alongside the Shop Manager in Teddington to understand the shop, community, and proposition.

Working closely with the Shop Manager, you'll assist in the delivery of the shop's potential.
