We are looking to recruit an exceptional Area Manager to provide direction and leadership to support the continued modernization and growth our retail operations. The Area Manager will support a passionate and committed retail team to deliver profit, promote fundraising and support eye health and public awareness. They will ensure that the business is run in a robust, transparent, compliant and efficient way in line with our values – whilst contributing expertise and energy to the wider charity.

Role Responsibilities:

Strategy, planning and growth

· Track progress against plans and budgets, and support shop teams to adapt, phase and prioritise work where appropriate.

· Ensure that broad and long-term thinking is brought to decision making and avoid reactionary behaviour, whilst capitalising on arising opportunities.

· Support the delivery of a five-year Retail Strategy (2024 – 2028), to include:

o The professionalisation of our systems and processes to capitalise on all income opportunities.

o Putting a positive customer experience at the heart of our approach.

o Delivering income upwards of £2.5m per annum with year-on-year growth to £10.6m by 2028/29.

o Deliver Gift Aid targets across all shops.

o Assist the Retail Development Manager in launching new shops.

o Utilise digital and social media to drive footfall and stock donations.

o Support fundraising through the shops, including legacy and IG marketing.

o Tailor each shop in the portfolio to maximise the potential of its unique location and its role in the business – including exploration of clearance, vintage, furniture and books.

o Create a framework of retail standards of excellence and ensure shops are managed and maintained to those standards.

Sales and Profit

• Monitor and be accountable for sales and category performance, as well as ensure that the team are aware of and engaged in the area financial performance
• Foster a creative and entrepreneurial environment where team members seek to maximise income in new and innovative ways both within their shops and through a variety of channels, such as community events
• Drive the team to maximise income from Gift Aid on donated products
• Ensure that all financial procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely fashion by the shop teams

Shop Floor

• Ensure sourcing sufficient levels of donated stock locally in collaboration with the shop management and Retail Partnerships team
• Ensure compliance with efficient and commercially successful stock processing systems (such as pricing, quality standards, consumer safety, stock density and culling stock), including backroom systems and ensure these are adhered to by the volunteer team. Ensure that all legal and internal regulations regarding donated stock are adhered to
• Inspire the team to provide a great customer and donor experience, which enables us to attract new supporters every day. Ensure that feedback, including complaints are escalated to the Director of Retail within the agreed timeframes
• Empower the team to work in partnership with the Visual Merchandising Manager to create original, appropriate and commercially successful visual merchandising displays, including shop windows
• Make sure that all procedures for the sale of new and donated corporate products are followed by the volunteer team
• Work with the Director of Retail to ensure our shops are in good condition, maximise their potential and are fit for purpose
• Provide a safe and healthy working environment and ensure that all team members are aware of and operate within our health and safety policies and procedures, including waste management and customer safety

Leadership – Volunteers

• Support the Volunteer Manager and shop management teams to recruit, induct, and retain an inclusive and diverse volunteer team, which is large enough in numbers and capable to maximise income and profitability and guarantee the smooth running of the area.
• Maintain an empowered, well trained, motivated and engaged volunteer team with excellent levels of communication at team and individual level.

· Define and develop our retail volunteer programme to ensure first rate volunteer experience, engagement, and great customer experience.

• Connect the volunteer team with our work and help them to understand the value of their contribution.

Leadership - Paid Staff

· Support members of the charity retail team to embed a high performing, motivated, collaborative, creative and dynamic culture – and seek opportunities to celebrate success

· Provide line management, leadership and growth opportunities to the Shop Management team.

· Support new starters with comprehensive induction and training.

• Ensure effective training, development and performance management of paid staff

Superkidz Community Trust was founded in 2001 and over the years, has provided children and young people with a safe space to play and to interact with adults who have the time to listen to them. Job Description

Key accountabilities:

The Manager will:

· Be an integral member of the team delivering Superkidz day to day activities and groups.

· Following consultation with staff service users and the Board prepare a strategy, financial and operational plan that best delivers impact in line with the TGIM theory of change. This should include locations, staffing, activities, income generation and should be fully costed.

· Lead the organisation in the implementation and further development of this strategy in consultation with the Board.

· Proactively use quality and impact information and strategic analysis to inform the development of new programmes of work that improve the lives of beneficiaries.

· Ensure that systems and processes are in place to manage, monitor and report on all compliance issues including; safeguarding, health and safety, and risk.

· Take accountability for financial decisions that protect the charity’s funds, ensuring the charity is sustainable and fulfils the requirements of the relevant regulatory bodies.

· Ensure that there is an appropriate funding strategy in place to secure the greatest possible diversity of income, through commissions, grants, donations, fundraising and social enterprise trading, and lead on the delivery of subsequent plans.

· With the Fundraising Liaison Manager, demonstrate leadership in key strategic relationships with public bodies, funders, corporate sponsors and other external stakeholders, through a range of communications, networks and events.

· Ensure full, timely, accurate and effective communication with the Board of Trustees and any sub-committees of the Board.

· Ensure that all decisions made in the course of the role are made according to current legislation and in line with all instruments of governance.

Your expertise will be key to driving our charity's growth and development. As a member of our small team, you will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and process optimisation. We seek someone with a detailed knowledge of accounting principles, ideally within the charity sector, strong analytical skills, and the ability to demonstrate both operational and strategic thinking. Management Accountant (Part Qualified)

We give grants to help museums, galleries, historic houses and public arts organisations to acquire objects for their collections, to share them with as many people as possible, and to support research and training for museum professionals. The role

This is an important post in the finance team and, as the Part qualified Management Accountant you will be responsible for a number of important processes supporting month end, reforecasts and the annual budget. You will also work with the head of finance on specific projects and support budget holders across the charity on financial questions and analysis.

To give an idea of focus, the core areas of delivery will include:

• Reconciliations and month end processes to support closing the books
• Support on reforecasts and the annual budget

What does the Global Grant Manager, Finance & Operations role involve? 

The Global Grants Manager is a critical role at CPI, primarily focused on enhancing the operational efficiency and financial compliance of our grant funded programmes. Reporting directly to the Acting Global Director of People, Finance, and Operations, this position requires a strategic thinker with a strong foundation in finance and grants management, who will work closely with programmatic teams and partner with stakeholders across the organisation. 

The role will involve working directly with large global funders, as well as directly with sub grantees and suppliers on CPI programmes. This role will also provide overall finance support to our Europe team in collaboration with our Global Senior Associate, Finance and Operations. Our managers have overall responsibilities, obligations and duties around finance, budget performance, and strategic development. They create protocols and policies needed to help with organisational and programmatic delivery. This role will be responsible for receiving and reviewing partner expenditures and reports and preparing consolidated financial reports for donors as well as be accountable for day to day grant management and administration.

As someone whose work will include building relationships with everyone at CPI, you will be responsible for making sure our global teams are set up to succeed and assist in keeping our workplace a great place to work for everyone. This role will largely be focused on our Europe team, however you will support all CPI regions worldwide. 

Key responsibilities include: 

Finance & Accounting

• Support efficient operations in accounts receivable and accounts payable in Europe and other CPI regions where required

• Support donor compliance during reporting by using the right templates and budgetary ceilings as applicable

  • Onboarding suppliers into our financial systems and ensuring purchase orders are raised that follow our internal financial policies & procedures

  • Liaise with legal, auditors and other advisors to ensure CPI’s operations in Europe remain legally compliant

  • Work with Finance & Operations team on maintaining and updating risk registers to track key corporate risks and ensure mitigants and financial controls are working as expected

  • Work with the CPIE team to ensure a financial risk assessment is maintained and updated and addressing any suspicions of fraud in line with policy

• Audits

  • Work with the CPIE team and F&O team to ensure programmes are audit ready

  • Coordinate donor audits on assigned programmes

  • Support the team in ensuring that any recommendations and actions resulting from audits are duly actioned and implemented

• Donor & Grants Management

  • Support our project teams to ensure programmes are implemented in line with Donor policies and requirements 

  • Lead the sub granting process for all implementing partners and consortiums in collaboration with the relevant regional/project teams

  • Ensure that the necessary information is documented, tracked and updated on the appropriate financial transaction and reporting tools

  • Lead on the preparations of budget versus actuals to support ongoing grants decision, identify deviations in implementation progress and flag delays/request for support

  • Proactively update Senior leadership on progress, risks and financial status

Who are we looking for? 

The person we’re looking for will:

• Be passionate about CPI’s vision for reimagining government

• Have 4+ years work experience in financial grant administration within the non-profit/charity sector, including managing large transactions.

• Strong understanding of grant regulations, compliance requirements, and financial management principles.

• Proven project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and delivering projects on time and within budget.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Prior experience using financial transaction, reporting and accounting software is essential, CPI currently uses  Xero and Approval Max so experience of using these tools would be highly desirable . Please note that this is a technical role and these skills are non-negotiable for us.

The Foyer houses up to 33 young people who have multiple and complex needs, including many who are unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people. In delivering the role, you will be responsible for:

• Service Provision: Supporting the Project Manager with the daily operations of the services so that they meet the requirements of the service specification. Oversee the residents’ referral, interview and induction processes for all beds and ensure the Occupancy Agreements and House Rules are fully understood. Ensure the quality of accommodation that is provided, liaising with the Housing and Property Services Team to complete estate inspections and health & safety risk assessments, and to turn around voids and organise repairs in line with organisational targets and statutory obligations. With the Project Manager ensure effective income collection for all beds, working closely with the Rents Team to create a rent payment culture.
• Leadership and People Management: Directly line managing team members and supporting the Project Manager in recruiting and inducting new staff. Ensuring the team is adequately trained and empowered to work effectively and creatively with our young people to enable them to achieve their aspirations and ambitions.
• General: Be a member of the ‘on call’ rota to provide out of hours management support to projects in the wider locality. Reflect Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs), Trauma Informed approaches and restorative practices.
