We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Lead to join the team in this remote working role offering full or part-time hours.

Position: Strategic Lead (REACH)

Location: Office-based or Remote (meetings in London approximately once a month)

Hours: Full or part-time hours available

Salary: £70,000-£80,000 or £300 - 350 day rate

Contract: Fixed term contract, 6 months – ideally October 2024 to March 2025

The Role

In May 2024, the organisation launched REACH (Researching Effective Approaches for Children): A plan to find out what works to prevent domestic abuse and support child victims. 

You will develop a detailed plan to operationalise the REACH Plan, including the structure, governance, funding, partnerships and activities that will lead to finding what works in prevention and recovery from domestic abuse. You will also build key relationships in the sector, in survivor networks, in academia and among research funders and in national government to ensure acceptability and secure support for the plan and its objectives

Working closely with the leadership team, you will progress the existing plan to the point of being ready to launch a successful programme of work in April 2025.

About you

You will have:

· A degree-level education or equivalent experience

· Operational experience: experience of organisational development and leadership

· An excellent understanding of the domestic abuse sector, including practice, policy and research

· A strong understanding of evidence (including experimental evidence), evidence based policy, and the role that evidence plays in service improvement

The role of the Project Support and Admin Worker will play a vital part in the running of the day-to-day operations within our London office and across a number of our programmes. The youth work programmes that will be supported by this role have grown rapidly over the last few years and continue to have an impact across London. The successful candidate will have the exciting responsibility of supporting the needs of these programmes as they operate on a day-to-day basis. The responsibilities of the role will include administrative duties, supporting events and sessions as well as ensuring projects are internally resourced.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• To provide a support function to the London Project delivery team to ensure that staff and project managers have a nominated administrative member of staff to work with.
• To work with the Programme Manager and Facilitators to support events, training sessions and group sessions including helping with organisation, set up and the running of these.
• Work with the staff team to ensure that ACN’s methodology and ethos is being delivered by our network partners in London, ensuring a consistency of offer/service across the organisation.
• Represent the organisation with external networks including funders and network partners in the sector.
• Work with the team to prepare and execute funding reports and communicate the department’s impact for young people and the community.
• Ensure monitoring data is of a high standard, inputted onto our software system in a timely and accurate fashion ensuring strong project management against KPIs and funding requirements.
• Analyse data and manage a high output of project data to inform the department of their performance against contracts and the ambitions of the team.
• Work with other representatives in the charity to ensure project returns, reports and funder requests are managed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Assist with the preparation of presentations and materials for meetings and events.
• Ensure the efficient operation of the day to day running of the office.
• Support with the operational functions within the organisation where required including IT, Finance, Recruitment and HR.
• Ensure all ACN policies and procedures are adhered to and work with the central team to continuously improve the charity’s compliance, efficiencies and promotion of best practice.

The COO will play a critical role in shaping the charity’s future, ensuring sustainability, growth, and the highest standards of service delivery releasing the CEO to focus on external stakeholder management and business development.

Edberts House has pioneered innovative ways of addressing health inequalities that makes a big difference to the lives of hundreds of people in Gateshead.  Job Purpose:

 The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will lead in managing our great staff team. You will be able to lead in a way that is aligned to, and consistently promotes, our values, and empowers our staff to deliver great work. 

 The COO will play a critical role in shaping the charity’s future, ensuring sustainability, growth, and the highest standards of service delivery.  This is primarily an internal facing role to provide strategic, financial and operational leadership, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the organization.

You will be a strong and confident presenter, able to articulate our vision and values to all stakeholders, and, on occasion, deputising for the CEO.

 We are particularly interested in candidates with proven people skills, preferably with previous experience of restructuring internal operations after organisational expansion. About the role:

The European College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM) was established in 2000 and is a not-for-profit speciality college that oversees the training, examination and completion/maintenance of credential requirements of veterinarians who are equine internal medicine specialists, referred to as ECEIM Diplomates. Currently the college is run by a team of dedicated trustees and are eager to take the next step and create capacity for growth.

This is a brand new role and in which you will have the opportunity to shape and develop what a successful Chief Operating Officer looks like for this exciting and far reaching college. Your role will be to enable ECEIM to operate more effectively in order to facilitate the College’s growth, working with the board members to understand their vision, and work to enhance, develop and support on existing  key processes and procedures that help the college to run effectively. This role will ultimately support ECEIM’s mission and key objectives to advance equine internal medicine in Europe and increase the competency of those who practice in this field.

What we can offer you:

Salary: circa £30,000 to £32,000 per annum, actual (circa £56,000 to £60,000 FTE). This would be reviewed on an annual basis.

Location: Remote role, working from home. UK based.

Hours of work: Your contracted hours are 20 hours per week. Exact working pattern can be discussed with the successful candidate. With a role at this level you may be expected to be flexible with that pattern at times, and as ECEIM’s remit is across Europe and beyond, you may also have the opportunity to travel with the role.

Pension: ECEIM will provide a pension contribution of 3% of salary; the employee will contribute a minimum of 5% of salary.

About ECEIM

The European College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM) is a not-for-profit speciality college that oversees the training, examination and completion/maintenance of credential requirements of veterinarians who are equine internal medicine specialists.

The ECEIM was established in 2000 and in 2010 became a fully recognised member of the European Board of Veterinary Specialisation (EBVS), a regulatory Board of all European veterinary specialty colleges. About this role:
As Senior Training and Behaviour Advisor, you’ll:

• work closely with staff across the country to ensure dogs in our care have effective, bespoke rehabilitation programmes to meet their needs,
• provide advice to centre staff in rehoming centres, as well as contributing to the ongoing assessment and rehabilitation of dogs in our care,
• collaborate with Behaviour Officers to provide bespoke behaviour training,
• in specific cases, complete independent assessments of dog behaviour to evaluate and understand the best approach.

About you:
In this role you’ll be mentoring and motivating our Behaviour teams, so you'll need experience of giving regular feedback and supporting colleagues with professional development, while being empathetic to the impacts of working closely with dogs with complex behaviour.. You’ll need significant experience of handling challenging dogs and assessing dog behaviour, particularly in a kennel environment. This will be supported by excellent knowledge of dog behaviour and the ability to tailor evidence based, appropriate behaviour plans.

The Exchange is looking for a creative, conscientious and dynamic Marketing & Communications Assistant to increase awareness of The Exchange and what we do, driving visitors to the building and to events, and helping to reach our online sales targets.

The Marketing & Communications Assistant will create and manage external communications, generating inspiring content to promote our work, build our profile and support sales. General Marketing 

Quarterly print programme

Take the lead on quarterly events programme marketing, including: 

• Liaising with graphic designer on quarterly print programme delivery, working closely with Head of Operations/Co-Director.
• Developing and maintaining a print programme distribution list and ensuring quarterly distribution.
• Working with Co-Director to identify audiences for events and developing/delivering actions to successfully reach those groups.
• Uploading event content onto website/Facebook/other listing platforms.
• Local leafleting of events programmes.
• Monitoring of reach and success of print programme marketing.

 Social media marketing/engagement

Take the lead on content development/upload/scheduling for all our social media platforms:

• Development and scheduling of content in line with the Exchange’s Social Media strategy, with a particular focus on Facebook and Instagram.
• Ensure that the published messages are on brand and achieve increased local and wider engagement.
• Support with the development of The Garden Room’s own social media presence to increase retail sales.
• Setting up targeted ads where appropriate.
• Ability to create, execute, monitor and analyse campaigns.
• Monitoring work and delivering to agreed KPIs, e.g. audience growth, engagement, impressions, and conversions.

 Asset management & development

Work with Co-Director and Head of Operations on the development/management of marketing assets:

• Support with website updates to ensure information accurate and up to date, and functions well, liaising with the wider staff team.
• Management of The Exchange’s image and film bank.
• Support with any external commissions to e.g. filmmakers, photographers etc.
• Work with Co-Director on development of new opportunities for increased/improved assets/marketing collateral.

 Press / Commissions

• Work with Co-Director on annual press plan, identifying key moments in year for press coverage.
• Work with Co-Directors on the delivery of marketing actions to drive new commission sales. This is a new area of work to develop sales of high-value craft products.

General duties 

• Support Co-Director by setting up quarterly Comms meetings with staff teams (Workshop, Garden, Sales) to discuss and agree future marketing objectives.
• Acting as ambassador for The Exchange as required at internal or external events.
• Effective management of annual marketing budget.

Your role:

The Grantmaking Operations team sits within the Fund’s Operations department and is primarily focused on ensuring that resources are reaching frontline activist organizations. The team seeks to hire a Grants Specialist who will report to the Managers of Grantmaking Operations and manage the Fund’s most complex grantmaking programs.

The successful candidate will join a high-performing, enthusiastic grants management team, a deeply committed global staff, and an organization constantly learning and adapting to global contexts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

Grantmaking

• Manage due diligence and enhanced grantmaking protocols for a highly complex and high-volume portfolio of grants spanning 50+ countries.
  • Inform the development and implementation of grantmaking plans, ensuring they are robust and responsive to changing contexts and needs.
  • Research compliance and financial regulation for various country contexts as needed and flag potential areas of risk to the Manager of Grantmaking Policy and Models.
  • Identify and flag operational challenges that may have an impact on programmatic grantmaking ambitions, potential donor commitments or grantmaking advisory bodies.
  • Coordinate with Program and Grantmaking Operations to ensure grants and grantee relationships are managed according to their risk level and operating context.
  • Together with Program, Fundraising and Finance teams coordinate grant recommendation processes and timeline for grantmaking portfolios.
    • Prepare and organize applicant materials and prospective grantee documents for all LEF cohorts.
    • Manage incoming grant proposals and evaluate eligibility of prospective grantees in line with grantmaking due diligence protocols.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for grantees, enhancing grantee relations and maintaining communication in multiple languages, including but not limited to English and French.

Database and Systems Administration

• Contribute to the management of the Fund’s grants management system.
  • Maintain accurate grant and grantee records – updating grant, organization and contact records daily, updating budget trackers periodically and ensuring OFAC compliance.

  • Code all grantmaking requests and budgeting information.

Your Team:
