We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced finance professional to join our team and play a vital role in our continued success. As Finance Manager, you will have the opportunity to positively impact local lives by leading and overseeing all aspects of our financial operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of our financial reporting, while also providing strategic financial insights to support our mission. You will be a member of the Wider Senior Leadership Team (SLT), working closely with the CEO, Board of Trustees, and internal teams to ensure our financial sustainability and resilience. This is a hands-on role with a mix of strategic and operational tasks and is essential to the success of our 3-year strategy, maintaining best practice financial controls and budgetary oversight, and meeting statutory obligations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership

• Lead and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring the day-to-day smooth efficient running of the finance function.
• Contribute to strategy development and implementation as part of the wider SLT.
• Work closely with the CEO, Deputy CEO and Board of Trustees to facilitate good governance and risk management, including attendance at the monthly Finance Sub-Committee.
• Manage, maintain and develop financial systems and controls, increasing their impact and quality and implementing best practices in financial management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements (e.g. Charity Commission, HMRC).
• Ensure FSSW fulfils its legal and regulatory requirements around GDPR.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including our Auditor and peers across the FareShare network.
•  Act as a local ambassador for FSSW.

Finance Operations Management

• Undertake the day-to-day bookkeeping (Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax) including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank, payroll, banking, and general ledger maintenance.
• Manage the staff payroll and pension process, monthly HMRC reporting and payments, including monitoring of VAT, tax, and gift aid, and prepare required returns.
• Lead on procurement practices, including relationship management of key suppliers such as insurance, utilities, IT providers to ensure best value for money.
• Petty cash controls across all FSSW sites.
• Debtor management, including liaising with internal membership account managers. 
• Other finance administration activities as required.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Manage all aspects of the financial cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, fixed asset management, reserves management and financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting commentary for presentation to SLT and Trustees. 
• Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to inform and support decision-making and funding applications across the organisation, including quarterly reviews.
• Prepare year end accounts to trial balance and lead the annual audit process.
• Ensure Restricted Funds are allocated correctly and assist with the monitoring of their budgets and cash flow in conjunction with the SLT.
• Assist the Deputy CEO to collate relevant evidence e.g. invoices for grant monitoring and reporting.
• Ensure day-to-day management of IT and data protection.
• Complete administration duties such as filing to Charity Commission and Companies House as directed to comply with statutory reporting requirements.

General

• Respond to communications via telephone, email, in person or via inhouse IT/systems. 
• Be willing to receive and engage positively with any visitors to the warehouse and office space.
• Support FSSW events.
• Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in support of the main purpose of the role, including liaising with the wider FSSW team. 
• Uphold high quality customer care and standards of conduct when dealing with all stakeholders and the public.

Person Specification

• Full/part qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent)

About this role:

Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the Communications and Policy Manager will support SIB’s track record of sector, government and media engagement, notably the high standard of publication set through its media partnerships with Tortoise and the Financial Times, its contributions to the policy landscape in the social sector, and its in-house data analysis and insight generation. This new post will contribute to SIB’s ongoing communications and policy work and its reach and influence.

Key responsibilities

1. Support the delivery of a comprehensive plan for our communications and policy activity, combining ongoing promotional communications, specific activities for funds and programmes, and proactively generated content and opportunities to influence

2. Co-ordinating with SIB partners in developing and delivering communication work, on major projects such as the Youth Investment Fund, the Recovery Loan Fund and the Enterprise Development Programme; ensuring that it is powered by data and customer insight of the highest quality

3. Keeping track of policy developments in areas of strategic importance to SIB, notably in social investment, youth, community energy and infrastructure investment. Writing briefings on key policy developments related to SIB’s strategic priorities, proactively identifying opportunities to further our policy agenda; also researching and preparing responses for relevant external consultations, using SIB data and evidence

4. Identifying, cultivating and maintaining relationships and partnerships with key policy, research and communications stakeholders

Sightsavers is looking for a Data Quality and Capture Manager to lead on the management of our new project output data capture system

Sightsavers is going through a digital transformation in data analytics to leverage operational insights into the reporting and decision making of the organisation. Through the capture of good quality data and the delivery of data analytics and reports to key people, we are engaging the organisation with the latest programme data from our thematic areas in eye health, social inclusion, education and neglected tropical diseases. Developing and integrating data capture systems, processes and tools into routine practices is the next step in promoting a data driven culture within the whole organisation as we build their data capture and data quality skills.

We are looking for a Data Quality and Capture Manager to work within the Data Analytics and Reporting Team (DART), and lead on the management of our new project output data capture system being built in DHIS2. They will oversee the transition from our current system to our in-development DHIS2 based system that will be rolled out over 2025, leading on the user training and support of the new system. They will be responsible for enabling teams across the organisation to capture and evaluate the quality of their data. This will involve rolling out the Indicator Reference Guide (IRG), our new standard list of indicators for project monitoring, across the organisational processes. The role will also be responsible for increasing the data quality awareness of the organisation.

The Data Quality and Capture Manager, working with stakeholders across the organisation, is responsible for project cycle management and thematic quality improvement processes, tools, and implementation.  Quality improvement is at the core of Sightsavers strategic objectives, and this role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the quality of project implementation at the country office and partner level.  This role is responsible for analysis of quality assurance data and the continued development of Sightsavers quality assurance systems.
The role will take a lead on the strategic direction of data capture and quality for DART and Sightsavers over this transition period, setting out a roadmap for Sightsavers data capture and quality.

Key duties will include:

• Leading the data capture process for output data and quality standards in the new DHIS2 platform
• Supporting the development of the new programme management output data system in DHIS2
• Leading on data, thematic and project cycle management quality assurance
• Support the development of tools and processes to improve project monitoring
• Lead on the data collection in DHIS2 of the Learning, Accountability and Monitoring Progress (LAMP) to support Sightsavers’ Thematic Strategies

To succeed in this role you will need:

• Proven successful track record of working with organisational data management systems (ideally in health or international development). 
• Experience managing an output data capture system such as DHIS2 or similar
• Strong understanding of the international development/not-for-profit sector, with demonstrable experience in project Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E). Experience producing analytical reports or communication materials for a wide range of audiences.

The Evaluation Manager is pivotal in spearheading the strategic planning, delivery and dissemination of Magic Breakfast’s day-to-day evaluation activity, as part of the wider Impact and Insights Team’s approach to communicating research, evaluation and insights. They will hold responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering a comprehensive programme of evaluation projects to support evaluation and impact measurement, continuous improvement, business development and communication. Our ideal candidate for this role will have experience in social research or programme evaluation.

Location:

There is flexibility around working location either home-working or office based (Wandsworth). Home based staff will be required to make regular visits to the Back Up office in Wandsworth, London and surrounding area.
