About the Bureau
The Bureau is the UK’s largest independent non-profit investigative journalism organisation. In the
last year, our investigations were published in over 100 countries across local, national,
international, specialist, TV and digital platforms. Our four global investigative teams work with
reporters around the world on priority cross-border issues – environment, health, corruption and
big tech. In addition, our UK-focused Bureau Local team uses an innovative community-led
approach to cover issues like insecure work, migrant rights and family courts, amplifying the voices
of underrepresented communities. Founded in 2010, we’ve grown from a small group of
journalists to a diverse team delivering hard-hitting investigations that have prompted inquiries,
sparked legal challenges and informed policy change in the UK and across the world.

Our fundraising
At the Bureau, our funders and supporters are vital. We are almost entirely funded through grants
and donations so – put simply – without their support, we wouldn’t be here.

Although our supporters may come from different backgrounds or have varied priorities, they all
share a common goal: tackling the issues across our society that are eroding democracy and
driving inequality. They support our work to hold those in power accountable, uncover new
evidence to support positive change, and empower citizens.

The Bureau has experienced significant growth over the past three years, increasing our annual
income to £2.8m and expanding to a team of more than 40 people. While the majority of our
income comes from grants, there is strong potential for further fundraising growth, and we are
actively working to diversify our funding streams beyond trusts and foundations.

existing supporters while exploring new funding opportunities.

Role and Responsibilities:
Support from trusts and foundations is our main source of philanthropic income so we are looking
for somebody with experience in grants fundraising who can quickly apply their skills and
expertise. You’ll work closely with our Development Director to report to and liaise with current
funders, manage a pipeline of prospects and submit successful applications to secure new grants.
In addition, you will support in building a major donor programme to diversify and strengthen our
funding base. You will collaborate with colleagues at all levels across the organisation, from impact
producers to reporters to finance and operations, in a supportive and welcoming culture that
values teamwork and shared success.

As an excellent communicator, you will be able to take complex issues and translate them into
clear, compelling narratives that resonate with funders and stakeholders. You will also be
passionate about building strong relationships with our funders and supporters.

While experience in high-net-worth fundraising would be a valuable bonus, it is not essential. You
don’t need to have raised funds for non-profit media before, but you do need to be excited by our
work and able to express The Bureau’s key areas of work and impact in an accessible, accurate and
compelling way. We’re a small team, so you’ll need the willingness to pitch in on fundraising tasks
– big or small – to ensure The Bureau is in the best possible position to pursue its mission.

Skills and Experience:

• Excellent fundraiser with a demonstrable track record of 3+ years’ experience successfully raising significant funds for charities or non-profits and managing relationships with funders (foundations - essential, high net worth individuals - desirable);
• Strong background in managing grants admin, including due diligence and processing agreements;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to speak and write English fluently;
• Great analytical skills, with experience in researching and identifying new funding sources for various projects;
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities;
• Experience of working with databases and funding pipelines;
• Exceptional time management skills, a professional attitude, and meticulous attention to detail;
• Resourceful and able to think creatively with strong problem-solving skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate at all levels across the organisation.
• Experience in securing funds for journalism, social justice, civil society, human rights, or related causes is desirable but not essential;
• We envisage this as a full-time, primarily hybrid working role, working from our London office two/three times a week.

Tearfund is looking for an Global Safety & Security Risk Manager.

This is a very exciting opportunity for you to be involved in supporting safety and security in the delivery of Tearfund's operational and partner-led interventions globally. 

This role plays a fundamental part in embedding our culture and approach to effective safety and security management. You will work directly with our international teams to outwork the existing safety and security strategy.

The successful candidate will:

• Follow the Organisational risk management approach, and work with GIPG Director, GIPG Head of Operations as well as Head of Risk to advise and support the Board, and Executive Team (ET) on safety and security risk management, including strategic planning as well as critical incident and crisis management
• To set the strategy for Tearfund's organisational approach to safety and security risk management, including setting standards, risk level and guidance for all security (globally) and non-UK safety issues
• To lead the security team in providing ongoing support to Global, Regional and Country teams to ensure they can operate within the appropriate risk levels and reduce risks when security events happen.
• To coordinate, support or as required lead response to any safety and/or security issue, incident and/or crisis global
• To lead the GIPG Leadership team and wider members of Global Safety and security team in reflecting, learning and improving Tearfund's ability to manage and mitigate security issues within the agreed risk level
• You will have proven experience in decision -making on safety and security in humanitarian and/or development work overseas, as well as experience outworking existing strategic objectives, ideally at a global level

Role Summary

The role will support the Development team to successfully raise over £3.5 million annually through fundraising, in addition to a concurrent £19.25m capital campaign. The successful candidate will efficiently manage the day to day running of The Old Vic’s individual giving scheme, reporting to the Head of Individual Giving and working with the Individual Giving Officer to implement and carry out a yearly strategic plan to retain and increase support across all levels of Membership and wider areas of giving.

Areas of responsibility

Individual Giving

• Contribute to developing a strategic plan for individual giving including Membership, small to medium sized donations across all giving channels.
• Assume responsibility for The Old Vic’s philanthropic individual giving Membership scheme, OV Together.
• Retain and increase support by delivering excellent stewardship, including delivery of benefits and events, and communication with donors.
• Generate and convert new donor prospects in order to meet and exceed agreed annual individual giving targets of c. £1.25 million to contribute to the overall Development team target.
• Line manage the Individual Giving Officer, monitoring key performance indicators and objectives to ensure that targets are met.

Administration

• Oversee lists and draft communications going out to individual supporters including season announcements, updates and invitations and segmenting mailing lists when necessary.
• Oversee ticket bookings and catering reservations for supporters and to innovate time-saving new processes for automating bookings and reservations.
• Ensure Membership collateral is regularly updated to deadlines.
• Ensure database records are updated with donations, research notes, Memberships and event attendance.
• Monitor progress against targets, ensuring fundraising costs stay within budgeted expenditure and Gift Aid restrictions.
• Devise and with input from the Events team maintain a system for accurately logging and tracking costs incurred for delivering Membership benefits in line with HMRC and Gift Aid guidelines.
• Ensure that all data complies with procedures for data integrity (e.g. Gift Aid, GDPR and PCI compliance).
• Oversee the processing of monthly and annual Direct Debits by the Individual Giving Officer.
• Support the administration of the American Associates of The Old Vic membership.

Prospecting and New Support

• Identify new routes, channels and audiences to promote other ways of giving amongst existing Old Vic contacts, our database and new prospects.
• Innovate and implement new fundraising projects, such as Tap to Donate scheme, and creating supporting documents (e.g. case for support and rebrand of membership scheme).
• Use data analysis to track Membership trends and prospecting, with support from the Individual Giving Officer, to inform strategy and cultivation efforts for upgrading and recruitment.
• Identify opportunities to further develop relationships with our existing supporters (e.g. cross-sell) and feeding this into strategic plans for Individual Giving.
• Support the Senior Development Operations Manager on the maintenance of a team-wide prospect tracking system and help monitor the solicitation process.

General

• To ensure The Old Vic’s programmes, website and social media are regularly updated with Development information and liaise with Marketing as appropriate in achieving these tasks.
• Contribute proactively to Development team activities.
• Undertake training deemed necessary by the Development Director.
• Carry out any other duties as requested by the Development Director.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and highly organised national Quality Manager to join our expanding team. This is a new role that will lead on the quality assurance of IPS Grow delivery, responsible for implementing a robust quality management system and measuring our work against agreed standards. This includes quality assuring resources for the IPS Grow team and the IPS community, streamlining internal processes, and ensuring consistency of IPS Grow delivery across regions.

This is a national role that will work closely with the Head of Delivery and wider IPS Grow senior team, with a mix of remote and in person working from our London office.

The Team

IPS Grow is a national programme designed to support the expanison of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services in mental health, primary care, and drug and alcohol teams across England. The programme is led by Social Finance in partnership with the Centre for Mental Health. It is funded by NHS England and Improvement (NHSE/I), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).

Responsibilities

1. Oversee internal and external quality across IPS Grow delivery

• Implement policies and processes that align fidelity reviews with international best practice.

• Oversee the IPS Grow Quality Mark, ensuring accurate and consistent application.  

• Establish systems for monitoring delivery against KPIs and contract requirements.  

• Maximise our focus on race equity across internal operations and external delivery.

• Identify and implement quality improvements based on internal and external stakeholder feedback.

• Work with the Workforce Manager to quality assure training materials for the IPS workforce.

2. Facilitate learning and development of IPS Grow delivery staff

• Drive high-quality recruitment and onboarding processes.

• Collaborate with Regional Managers to implement competency frameworks, performance plans, and a training programme that supports professional development.

• Embed staff development and reflective practice across team processes such as team meetings and staff 1:1s.

• Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of L&D initiatives and make necessary improvements.

 3. Streamline knowledge management

• Implement a robust system for version control and documentation procedures.

• Ensure a comprehensive range of high-quality resources is available for IPS services.

• Embed a race equity lens across new and existing resources.

• Work with key stakeholders to coproduce resources and ensure content is accessible and reflective of the communities IPS services work with.

• Work with senior colleagues to develop and maintain an internal knowledge management hub for delivery staff, ensuring all resources are up to date and relevant.

 4. Communication and collaboration:

• Work closely with the Head of Delivery, Regional Managers and other senior leadership staff to share best practices and coordinate efforts across regions.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with local and national stakeholders; attend and contribute to stakeholder meetings, sharing insights and updates on quality development initiatives.

• Contribute to internal and external communications, including newsletters, reports, and presentations.

• Support the implementation of data collection and analysis processes to ensure high-quality standards and drive continuous improvement across IPS Grow services.

We are excited to be advertising the role of Psychotherapy Service Manager at Respond, to lead our team and the development of our psychotherapy services with autistic people and people with learning disabilities who have experienced trauma and their families.  Many of our clients may have experienced complex or multiple traumatic experiences including sexual violence, domestic abuse and neglect.

The Psychotherapy Service provides predominantly longer-term therapeutic support of a year or more, depending on how the work is funded, to an average of 130 unique individuals per year.  The current team of 10 are made up of 4 senior therapists (reporting to the postholder), 4 therapists and 2 honoraries in training, the majority of whom are Arts therapists and work within a psychodynamic and/or systemic model.

We welcome applications from experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor/Psychotherapists, Arts therapists, Psychologists or Family Therapists who are passionate about our work. You will work psychodynamically, champion our trauma informed approach including our reflective practice model and have the opportunity to influence and shape the development of the psychotherapy service.  Leading the small team, you will provide clinical leadership and be Safeguarding lead, ensuring we continue to provide high quality psychotherapy services.  We are offering the role at 4-5 days per week, working in a hybrid manner flexibly. You can also hold your own small case load of clients, supervisees and/or consultancy work within the role.

This is a unique and specialist role and we recognise that you may have more experience in one clinical area or client group than another, given the breadth of our work and whilst you may be experienced in working psychodynamically as a therapist and as a line manager, you may be newer to leading a service for example. Or you may have a great deal of other experience and understanding of the needs of our clients from other work.  We are flexible to develop the right candidate who is passionate about improving the lives of autistic people, people with learning disabilities and their family members.

ODAC continues to be on a journey of organisational change and growth, with the financial implications that come with that, having begun to diversify our business model to expand our programmes.

We are therefore recruiting a Finance Manager to lead the implementation and delivery of best-practice financial management and planning, ensuring that ODAC is ready to continue to increase our charitable impact.

In recent years, financial management has been led by the Chief Executive, with a freelance book-keeping contractor and a 0.5 days/ week Finance Administrator, and we have an experienced Finance Lead on the Board of Trustees.

The Finance Manager will lead on bookkeeping, financial management, and providing support and advice to budget holders. They will collaborate with the Director on financial planning and reporting, and will be responsible for reviewing and implementing best practices, ensuring that the charity’s financial functions are fit for its size, purpose, and growth.

Our client is one of the largest women's hostels in the UK for vulnerable women affected by homelessness. They offer support to women with a range of complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health issues and domestic violence, and provide these support services in a warm, welcoming and secure environment. They are now recruiting for a strong and supportive manager to help lead their Support Services. This role is initially a 6 month fixed term contract with possibility of permanency. 

As Support Services Manager, you will line manage a team of frontline staff and will oversee the Support and Night services, consisting of 30 bed spaces for women with high support complex needs; the service aims to offer holistic support to these women, working alongside a range of partner organisations to facilitate a step-down move-on for women into semi-independent living. You will work to create and maintain key partnerships, continually ensuring that a high quality of service is delivered to all service users of the Project.

To be considered for this position, you must have significant housing management experience, as well as extensive knowledge and appreciation of the challenges faced by homeless women. You must have demonstrable experience of leading frontline staff, as well as significant safeguarding experience. You will also have proven working experience of contract monitoring and of setting and influencing strategy. Ultimately you will be enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated to leading a team to deliver the best quality of support to vulnerable homeless women.
