Group Finance Director

This exciting international charity are seeking a qualified accountant with charity experience to join as their Group Finance Director.

About the Role

This is an exciting time to join this international charity, as we expand operations and implement best financial practices. The role presents an opportunity to lead, mentor, and drive financial excellence in a dynamic international setting. As Group Finance Director, you will be a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), ensuring financial strategy, governance, and compliance align with the organisation’s mission.

The role requires strong leadership, financial expertise, and the ability to manage a dispersed finance team while navigating the complexities of both charity and commercial financial management across different jurisdictions. International travel will be required to work with in-country teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the organisation’s financial strategy and vision, contributing to strategic decision-making at the senior level.
• Oversee financial reporting and compliance, ensuring adherence to UK Charities SORP FRS 102 and international financial regulations.
• Develop and implement financial systems, controls, and processes across multiple global entities.
• Manage annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements and programme budgets.
• Prepare group consolidated reports, including balance sheets, donor spend tracking, and statutory accounts.
• Lead the audit process and ensure strong financial governance across the organisation.
• Work closely with country finance teams in a matrix structure, to build capacity and ensure best practices.
• Identify financial risks and implement strategies for risk management.
• Support grant and funding management, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.

About You

We are looking for a strategic, hands-on leader who can balance big-picture financial planning with the operational needs of a growing international charity. You should have excellent financial acumen, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage finances in a complex, multi-currency, multi-entity environment.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Qualified accountant (CCAB, CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with extensive post-qualification experience.
• Proven finance leadership experience in a complex international organisation, ideally in the INGO sector.
• Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency financial operations.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including UK Charity SORP FRS 102.
• Experience with donor reporting, grant management, and compliance.
• Demonstrated success in leading and developing dispersed international finance teams.
• Experience with financial systems implementation and process improvement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

Desirable:

• Experience working in one of the organisation’s key regions (Afghanistan, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, the Levant).
• Experience leading finance teams remotely.

• Support in the delivery of the monthly payroll for approximately 600 employees by inputting data into to the HRIS and generating letters/contracts

• Support the charity’s recruitment process by liaising with candidates, organising interviews and reference checking

RESPONSIBILITIES

We expect to recruit from our members and from the community of those who stammer or those who support people who stammer (speech & language therapists, family and friends).

• Recruit and induct new volunteers to support our services, working with the Services Director and the Training & Outreach Lead. 
• Work with the service managers to review training and update training modules.
• Ensure there is appropriate training, support, supervision and acknowledgement for volunteers and ensure processes comply with the charity’s values
• Research and write volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments.
• Support and recruit volunteer community leaders for our groups and networks; work with them to aim for consistent quality across the groups experience and develop an online training programme for leaders.  Longer term, put a funding case together to support a training weekend for community leaders.
• Keep records on which community groups are active and identify areas of need and feedback mechanisms.
• Work with Content & Communications Lead to produce regular mailings and volunteer recruitment campaigns.
• Keep up to date with legislation, best practice and policy related to volunteering and make any necessary modifications to accommodate changes.
• Maintain the database of volunteers and ensure all volunteers are registered members.
• Manage budgets and resources, including the reimbursement of volunteer expenses.

PLEASE NOTE

This is a hybrid role, and all staff are expected to attend team meetings, held in London, every 6-8 weeks.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Dementia UK’s IT team as our IT Vendor and Service Integration Manager. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end vendor management process, ensuring seamless integration of external services with our internal IT operations.

Acting as the primary liaison between outsourced service providers and internal IT teams, you will ensure alignment with organisational objectives, maintain service quality, and optimise the value derived from vendor relationships. You will also be responsible for ensuring that contract obligations are consistently met.

You will coordinate across IT Operations, IT Applications/Data, and directorate technology-dependent teams to resolve issues that span multiple domains, ensuring the smooth integration of services between internal and external providers. A key aspect of the role will involve monitoring and reporting on vendor performance against SLAs and KPIs, providing regular comprehensive updates to the Deputy Director of IT. In addition, you will oversee contract management for all outsourced IT services, negotiating amendments and renewals to secure the best value for the organisation.

To succeed in this role, you will have experience with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL, along with a strong background in IT supplier and budget management. You will bring demonstrable experience in managing complex outsourcing relationships, coupled with strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. The Talent Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the Foundation’s Talent Hub. The role will work closely with and support the Head of Talent & Inclusion to deliver the Foundation’s talent management strategy. The role will coordinate and evaluate internal learning and development initiatives, fostering a structured learning culture that supports a high-performing workforce.

About the Secular Clergy Common Fund

The Fund was established around 1701 and is a charity providing grants to support sick and retired Catholic priests in the South-East of England, who are the members of the Fund. The Fund also looks after two Victorian Catholic cemeteries in London. The six Administrators of the Fund are elected by the members and act as Trustees of the charity.

Key Responsibilities

1. To provide leadership for and line management of the Fund and its cemeteries, in line with strategies and policies developed in partnership with the Administrators.

2. Together with the Chief Administrator, to enable the Administrators to fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of the charity and to ensure that they receive timely advice and appropriate information on all relevant matters.

3. To administer the grant making and membership activities of the Secular Clergy Common fund, in line with the rules of the Fund and in the light of the decisions of the Administrators.

Key Tasks

1. Governance

· To act as the clerk and executive officer for the Administrators of the Fund.

o To clerk meetings of the Administrators (3 or 4 per year).

o Liaison with Auditors, Investment Managers, Bankers, Solicitors, Health and Safety Adviser, Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC, and others as directed or agreed with the Administrators.

o To report significant matters in a timely manner to the Chief Administrator.

· To assist the Administrators in review of their operational and strategic risks and the implementation and monitoring of measures arising from this.

· To advise the Administrators on the strategic development of the charity.

· To ensure that the charity fulfils all its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities

o To periodically review the charity’s arrangements for Employment, GDPR and Health and Safety other significant areas and present recommendations to the Administrators to bring them up to date.

2. Secular Clergy Common Fund (‘The Fund’)

· To maintain records of members, including correspondence for admission of new members and receipt of subscriptions.

· To liaise with the Administrators for the making of grants.

· To make payments of grants and other dues on behalf of the Fund.

· To receive donations and legacies on behalf of the Administrators.

· To maintain financial records for the Fund

o Including of investment portfolio transactions as advised by Investment Managers (HSBC Private Bank).

· To arrange the AGM and dinner.

3. St Mary’s & St Patrick’s Cemeteries

· To act as line manager for the two cemeteries and work closely with the Cemetery Manager.

· To assist the Administrators in developing a medium- to long-term strategy for the cemeteries.

· To manage the strategic development of the cemeteries as financially sustainable ‘places of rest and hope, comfort to the living, signs of their hope for unending life’.

· To assist the Cemetery Manager in development of action plans for the cemeteries, agree them with the Administrators and support their implementation.

· To ensure that all policies and procedures for the cemeteries are up to date and compliant with all relevant areas of legislation and regulation, and reflective of good practice, reviewing and developing them as appropriate and agreeing key policies with the Administrators.

· To assist with accounting and finance for the cemeteries, possibly including accounting, payments and payroll.

· To address issues concerning the cemeteries which the Cemetery Manager has been unable to resolve.

The post-holder should be able to:

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to generate income for the Olive Tree Cancer Support Group through community and corporate fundraising, principally in Crawley and Horsham and surrounding areas.  This will involve planning and implementing a community and corporate fundraising strategy, engaging with individual donors, community organisations and corporate sponsors to generate a significant level of income to agreed targets and working with the wider team to advance the goals of the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced community and corporate fundraiser who is confident and capable in taking the lead on this key strand of our fundraising stream.  You will be managed by the Centre Manager and supported by the Trustees and will have autonomy on leading on individual donors, community and corporate events and partnerships.

About you:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of building relationships in a fundraising role, across a variety of audiences resulting in increased income generation.  You will have excellent communication and presentation skills coupled with an ability to inspire and motivate others and engage compassionately with service users.

You will need excellent organisational skills with a good understanding of fundraising targets, as well as strategic thinking ability in combination with good problem-solving skills.  You must be a team player, with a mature, credible and conscientious approach, as you will be part of a small team, working with vulnerable service users, in a key role for the organisation.  You will also be required to assist in day-to-day operations at the Centre.

The flexibility and willingness to work several evenings and weekend days throughout the year and ability to travel independently is essential for this role.

What we’re looking for and main responsibilities:

• Experience working within a charitable environment.

• Ability to lead the strategic and operational management specific to the Olive Tree community and corporate fundraising functions to help deliver agreed income targets.

• Ability to act as an ambassador and build and maintain relationships with individual donors, community organisations and community partners to maximise donations.

• Stewardship of existing and introduction of new corporate relationships, including giving presentations, identifying sponsorship opportunities and supporting at corporate events, to enhance revenue streams.

• Ability to develop legacy fundraising in a sensitive manner.

• Oversight and management of all marketing and fundraising materials for community and corporate events.

• Recruitment and management of fundraising volunteers to assist at events.

• Tracking and recording of income for reporting purposes.

• Work onsite as the default mode of work with a degree of flexibility for the right candidate.  Usually based in our Horsham Centre but occasionally working in our Crawley Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the charity, whilst leading the development of our financial strategy and aligning it to our objectives. We're seeking an experienced and inspirational leader to Chair our Independent Advisory Group (IAG) whose role is to provide independent advice to the Travalyst Board and Secretariat on the delivery of Travalyst’s strategy. As Chair, you'll provide independent strategic guidance, critical insights, and expert advice to shape Travalyst’s initiatives and impact. This role requires a commitment of approximately 1-2 days per month over an initial two-year term (with the possibility of renewal).

Your Impact

• Set the IAG’s agenda and priorities, in close collaboration with the Travalyst CEO and Board Chair.

• Chair a minimum of six virtual meetings per year, bringing all IAG Members together to share learning and provide strategic business updates; ensuring that divergent opinions are heard and respected, and that the group forms a collective view when needed.

• Ensure that the IAG’s advice is timely, relevant, and delivered appropriately to the Board and/or Secretariat.

• Attending Travalyst Board meetings to give updates on IAG activities, performance and learnings (likely 1-2 per year).

• Attending Travalyst’s Annual Convening (likely 2 days per year, usually in Europe).

• Regular strategy and operations meetings with the Secretariat and Travalyst COO.

About the IAG

Our IAG is comprised of a global group of some of the world’s leading travel and sustainability experts. The role of the IAG is to provide independent advice to the Travalyst Board and Secretariat on the delivery of Travalyst’s strategy. Its primary remit is the expert review of Travalyst’s product roadmaps, including impact evaluation. In addition, the IAG’s proactive advice is invited on any topic, including Travalyst’s strategy and theory of change.

The IAG currently has six members, appointed as a core group of experts with a systemic view of travel and tourism. We expect this group to grow to 8-10 members during 2025/6, to fill specific gaps in expertise. IAG Members are appointed by the Secretariat, in consultation with the IAG Chair.

Where needed, the IAG may form a task group (including external subject matter experts) with a clear, time-bound remit. External subject matter experts are appointed by the Secretariat, in consultation with the IAG Chair.

The IAG sets its agenda and priorities through close collaboration between the IAG Chair, Travalyst CEO, and Travalyst Board Chair. It is accountable to its Terms of Reference, which are approved by the Board.

Support available to you as IAG Chair

Operational support from the Secretariat will include:

• Ensuring the smooth operational running of the IAG to deliver its agenda, priorities and roadmap.

• Preparing, supporting and debriefing IAG meetings, and managing records of key advice and decisions.

• Leading recruitment and onboarding of new IAG Members and/or subject matter experts.

• Monitoring IAG governance processes and performance, and making recommendations for improving processes.

Honorarium

The IAG Chair will be offered an annual honorarium, in recognition of the critical role played by the IAG and the time commitment required for full participation and leadership.

Additionally, pre-approved reasonable out-of-pocket expenses can be reimbursed, where required.

About the Role:

As the Delivery and Volunteer Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the work of the Educational Partnerships team in London and the SE.  This means you'll be supporting our work with schools that serve young people from areas with the greatest barriers to social mobility. Your mission will be to ensure YE’s programmes in London and the SE are delivered effectively and ensure our volunteers feel well supported throughout their volunteer journey with YE.

You’ll be a key member of YE’s Educational Partnerships Regional Team, collaborating closely with Educational Partnerships Managers, the Educational Partnerships Regional Manager, the Volunteering Team and National Fundraising to support the success of our enterprise and financial education programmes. These programmes are designed to help young people make positive contributions to their communities and society, while equipping them with the tools to shape their own future.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role where no two days are the same. There is a degree of manual handling and you may be required to work some evenings and weekends. You will engage directly with internal and external stakeholders and take responsibility for several reporting and administration processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Nurture Relationships: Cultivate and expand internal and external relationships that facilitate the delivery of YE’s programmes and services effectively.
