About the role

Music Services is the delivery arm of Nordoff Robbins and encompasses the provision of music therapy and related activities including education, training and research. The Music Services Administrator will work  closely with the Regional Manager and alongside other Music Services Administrators to ensure that the reception and admin function is well run, organised, efficient and effective, and that clients, visitors and callers have a positive experience when they spend time with us. Many of our clients lead challenging lives and include vulnerable children and adults. This role is therefore subject to a basic DBS check.

CENTRE FOR AGEING BETTER 

Research and Evaluation Manager (50+ Employment)

• Fixed term 18 months
• Salary £47,336 per annum
• This is a Full Time post. However, we will consider applications from people looking to work 2-3 days a week if they are willing to job share.

About the role

Do you want to use research and evaluation to make the UK labour market fairer for all of us? Do you want to make sure no one is shut out of work due to their age? Do you want a job where you get to work with contractors and internal colleagues to deliver research projects?

We are looking for a Research and Evaluation Manager to join the Work Action Area team at the Centre for Ageing Better.

We are a friendly, passionate, multi-disciplinary team of 11 people working to create fair access to work for people in their 50s and 60s. We run the Age-friendly Employer Pledge, pilot projects to test out new models of employment support and undertake high-level policy analysis and influencing.

The Research and Evaluation Manager is core to this work. You will be the research lead in the team – managing the research and evaluation activity that generates the strong evidence base we are known for.

About you

We would like someone who has been involved in the nitty gritty of evaluation research, balancing an interest in the technical sides of answering evaluation questions with an awareness of the practical challenges of doing so. It would be great if you had experience on the research commissioning side, but you could still have the right skills if you have only worked within a contracted research team.

We would like you to have good experience of qualitative research and secondary research. You need to be comfortable with numbers and basic data analysis, but you don’t need to be a quantitative specialist (as we have one of those).

We want you to have some experience working on policy-oriented research and developing policy recommendations. You need to be motivated by change, as well as understanding the problem. You will be a line manager in this role. Line management experience is a desirable attribute – but it is essential you can demonstrate that you have supported other people to deliver their work.

The Boaz Trust is a Manchester-based charity that started 20 years ago as an outworking of the founder's Christian faith. Last year we provided trauma-informed and person-centred housing and support for more than 200 people facing homelessness after seeking safety in the UK through our floating support and 17 properties that we manage.

This new role is a key part of our strategy to increase our capacity to provide accommodation for more people in the Greater Manchester area working in partnership with GMCA and a range of local and national stakeholders. You will report directly to the CEO and Board and be part of the Senior Leadership Team building on our unique experience of providing both housing-focused and floating support for people who have recently been granted refugee status, as well as those who have been refused asylum and who are facing homelessness.

Your challenge? To provide advice, assessment, and brief interventions, and deliver group programmes, workshops and training courses. Practitioners work not only from Aquarius offices but also in schools, universities, arrest referral, hospital and youth settings and other outreach settings.

An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community care (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. As well as good knowledge of alcohol/drug and health related issues, you're used to liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and comfortable engaging with clients in a variety of service delivery settings.
