We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated Administrator to support our Finance Officer and the general office administration.  This role has direct responsibility for day-to-day financial administration whilst including general donor and office support

A core part of  the  role will   be maintaining accurate and up to date financial management for reporting. Knowledge of financial systems like Xero or Sage,  Direct  Debit  management  and Gift  Aid  is essential. At least 2 years experience in a supporting finance role is also essential.

About the role

As our philanthropy manager, you’ll be integral to supporting income growth within our major gifts fundraising programme. This is a great opportunity if you are a talented major gift fundraiser who has comprehensive experience of successfully soliciting donations from high-net-worth individuals. 

This is an externally focussed, relationship management role, concentrating on securing and maintaining long term relationships with high-net-worth donors. This will include identifying new opportunities to raise funds from prospective donors who could make significant financial commitments. You’ll then be responsible for engaging, cultivating, and stewarding these relationships. 

The role will support a philosophy of proactive relationship building through cultivation and stewardship communications and activities. This will entail maintaining and maximising exiting donor relationships as well as attracting new business from a growing pool of new major supporters. You’ll ensure prospective donors are engaged with appropriate propositions, particularly from our extensive medical research portfolio.   

This role will involve working closely with the head of philanthropy and associate director, philanthropy and special events. Developing good working relationships with the prospect researcher, research communications colleagues and other key internal stakeholders will also be vital.

About you

Partnership Manager - Wales

Location: The role will be based out of the BookTrust Offices in Cardiff.  BookTrust works in a hybrid and flexible way with an expectation of a minimum of 8 face to face collaboration days per month which could be at the Cardiff office, visiting partners across Wales and on occasions UK wide travel.  There will therefore be reasonable travel needed to fulfil the role, with occasional overnight stays.

Emmaus Oxford is looking for a Charity retail Deputy Store Manager to join our retail management team running our large charity superstore in Cowley Oxford. Emmaus provides housing support and meaning occupation in our social enterprise to up to 28 ex-homeless men and women [known in Emmaus as Companions].  As well as providing retail management the role also involves coaching and training companions and working closely with our team of Progression Workers and Learning & Development Manager. Emmaus collects donations of furniture and household goods from across Oxfordshire and these are sold in our superstore in Cowley and through our online sales business. Proceeds from sales make a major contribution towards our housing & support service. We are recruiting an interim Grants Operations and Data Manager, responsible for the systems, processes and data that contribute to the smooth running of the Foundation’s funding programmes.

The Rothschild Foundation delivers funding programmes both locally, in its home county of Buckinghamshire, and nationally, across England. Specific Duties Include
Systems and IT:

• Management of grants database (Blackbaud Grantmaking) including maintenance, auditing and system updates.
• Development of the database including external portal to improve user experience.

• Ensuring regular grant data updates to the 360 Giving portal are made

Communications:

• Management of the RF website including updates, content creation and liaising with website developers.
• Review of website content to ensure alignment with accessibility guidelines.
• Management of the RF’s social media presence including LinkedIn profile and MailChimp newsletter.
• Assist in production of the RF’s publications, such as Annual Review.

Line Management:

• Line management responsibility of the Grants Officer role.

Administration:

• Manage and improve administrative processes and procedures.
• Preparation of Committee and Trustee papers.
• Minute taking (if required).
• Support where needed in planning and organising logistics for events, in collaboration with Waddesdon’s Private Events and Operational Teams where appropriate.

The role would suit people who have:

• Experience of managing databases, including some experience of grant-making software. We use Blackbaud and training can be provided.

Speakers For Schools is looking for a senior and experienced Evaluation Manager to lead and oversee an impact evaluation project.. This role requires a dedicated professional to manage the day-to-day operations of an independent evaluation conducted by an external agency.

The Evaluation Manager will ensure the project is executed smoothly, meets its objectives, and delivers high-quality, actionable insights. This position is ideal for someone with strong project management skills, a solid background in evaluation methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

The Evaluation Manager works closely with the Director of Policy, Research and Impact and the Director of Programme and Delivery to ensure the successful implementation of the project. The successful candidate will be the main point of contact for the evaluation delivery, and it involves a great level of internal and external stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

Strategic Purpose: 

· Lead the evaluation project, ensuring it adheres to timelines, budget, and quality standards.

· Serve as the primary point of contact between the external evaluation agency, internal stakeholders and the funder.

The Lady Garden Foundation is a national charity, founded in 2014, which aims to raise funds and improve  awareness of the 5 gynaecological cancers (Ovarian, Cervical, Womb (Uterine), Vulval and Vaginal).

Job Summary:  
The position of Event Manager is a central role within the Foundation, not only driving the Foundation forward in both fundraising and keeping the cogs turning in all aspects from administrative detail to event organisation. 

This role is unique, from the breadth of responsibilities to the ownership it allows for an individual. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Leading development, delivery and execution of the LGF events programme, consisting of already established major donor events and a focus on improving the range of events for a wide general audience that maximises fundraising and drives supporter engagement.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with event co-founders, committee members, stakeholders and high net worth individuals to maximise income and secure continued committed support.

• To closely work with the relevant events production agency to ensure the smooth running of events e.g. ensuring dietaries are collected, managing event budget inline with sponsorship.

• Responsible for all major donor relationship management.

• Responsible for day-to-day internal fundraising tasks, ensuring gift aid claims are up to date etc…

• Aiding co-founders and committee members with event sponsorship bids and presentations.

• Main LGF contact for event sponsors, includes ensuring contractual agreements are met, generally keeping them informed and happy with the partnership.

• PR- oversee the activities of our pro bono PR team from an events perspective.

• Lead, coach and work closely with the Events and Fundraising Executive to enable them to take on responsibilities for smaller events and manage tasks within the events. 

• General Event Management - Overseeing the organisation of the event, managing invites and RSVP’s, ticket payments where necessary, event sponsors

• Database management (Donorfy)

• Awareness of key health issues and updates in the gynae arena 

• Awareness of activity from other charities within the sector

Experience, Qualifications and Skills:

• At least 2 years of events management experience with a charity or fundraising organisation.

• Incredibly organised

• Ability to work in a very fast paced environment

• Confident and outgoing

• Ability to manage multiple activities at one time including direction from multiple individuals

• A passion for the cause of the Foundation

• Microsoft Office- Competent

• A good understanding of the charity landscape including Fundraising Regulations 

• Effective diary management including your own

• An understanding of women’s health issues and the gynae landscape including the 5 cancers, periods, menopause and reproductive rights. 

• Xero accounting software- not essential but helpful

The BSAVA is looking for an experienced policy professional in the areas of policy development and legislative change set against a backdrop of a complex and regulated environment. The role operates within a changing landscape dealing with high-profile issues for the sector.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape BSAVA’s policies and national legislation with the aim of influencing outcomes of benefit to the veterinary profession, its clients and the health and welfare of companion animals.

Skills and experience:

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a track record of success, who can demonstrate excellent understanding of policy-making and legislative change in an unpredictable environment. They will have significant previous experience of working in a policy role, ideally within a life-sciences or a veterinary or human medicine setting.

Experience of working with central government departments along with an understanding of parliamentary processes are preferable for the role. Equally important is the ability to analyse and critique information, formulate evidence-based solutions and accurately convey proposals to influence outcomes.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with strong written and verbal skills. They will be able to demonstrate effective engagement skills across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including the membership. Diplomacy and political awareness will be essential to ensure successful outcomes. Experience of PR and reputation management as part of the policy-making agenda is desirable.

The candidate must be flexible to work outside of normal office hours depending on the demands of the role which are often driven by the external environment and national events. The role is hybrid, incorporating working from home with travelling to meetings in or around London as required.  Therefore, to facilitate the needs of the role and the organisation, ideally candidates would be located in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire or Oxfordshire.

Other essential skills include:

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as general IT skills

Katherine Low Settlement’s work with older people

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.

We work with older people to:

• Encourage active and independent living

• Reduce isolation and loneliness

• Improve well-being and prevent ill-health

• Enable older residents to be dynamic and contributing members of the Wandsworth community.

Role Purpose
We are seeking to recruit a manager to lead a frontline team. This role will suit an experienced people manager who is friendly, kind and able to manage a busy workload. Someone who can motivate staff and volunteers, engage with elders and be solution focused.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day to day running of the Elders Core Service as part of the wider Elders Programme. This includes the three day a week lunch club, transport offer and social sessions and one-off activities and trips.
• Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers. The team members include a cook, support worker, minibus driver and sessional workers such as exercise tutors.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide this “hands on” programme which builds on older people’s strengths and potential.
• Manage the monitoring and evaluation of the project.
• Ensure the programme runs to budget.
• Support the planning of the core programme with Elders members themselves and with the wider team.
• Recruit, assess and support new and existing members (service users)
• Manage waiting lists for the programme
 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Planning and oversight

• Working with the Head of Programme, ensure that all service output meets KLS’ vision, mission, values and charitable objects and with the Head of Programme, ensure the service meets the programme strategy and KLS’s 5-year strategy.
• Ensure the smooth delivery of core older people's activities throughout the week and organise, plan and promote agreed one-off activities throughout the year in a timely and planned manner.
• Manage the transport offer, including route planning and pick-up schedules of older people to and from KLS’ activities with the Minibus Driver. Ensuring the Minibus Driver maintains records.
• Ensure activity records and registers are kept accurately and up to date as well as case work notes for the core team, completing regular checks on this. We use a Salesforce Database for which training will be given.
• Actively support the social and support needs of our older people as appropriate, including safeguarding issues and being a first contact for compliments and complaints for the service.
• To be part of, and work closely with, the wider elder's team, sharing information regarding elders on a regular basis where appropriate.
• Conduct outreach and support work with older people in the community and on home visits and oversee the case work of the Core Team as well as having a small caseload. This does not involve advice work but is mainly signposting, referral and light advocacy.

Staff and volunteer management

• Take responsibility for the Core Programme. This includes line management of the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook and key relevant social activities workers and volunteers related to the core programme (we do also have a KLS Volunteer Manager who recruits volunteers).
• Ensure performance management and quality systems are used to monitor and evaluate the project’s work, processes and safeguarding.
• Managing individual volunteers as part of the Core Programme Team.

Relationships, comms and networks

• Continue to build and sustain strong relationships with our members.
• Contribute to comms for the service with the Head of Service. Oversee the comms for the Core Programme including the shared service newsletter, activities calendar, annual report and social media platforms.
• Attend meetings as requested on behalf of the Core Programme.
 

Finance

• Manage the project areas to budget, maintain basic financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme – in this instance this is usually a petty cash sheet.

Safeguarding

• Responsible for ensuring adherence to policies and procedures across the core team, ensuring that safeguarding is at the forefront of KLS’ delivery.

Undertake other duties

• Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal; help to identify your own job-related development and training needs
• Undertake your role in a professional manner and maintain a high-quality standard of work in accordance with the aims, values and ethos of KLS

Skills and Experience

• Experience of working with older people in a community setting
• Experience of line managing a small team in a community setting
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including communicating with people from a wide range of backgrounds and when working individually or in groups
• Strong multi-tasking skills and time management 
• Ability to work as part of a small team, whilst also working independently
• Experience of monitoring and evaluating projects effectively and ensuring that they are consistently meeting needs
• Understanding and experience of safeguarding, and health & safety in theory and in practice
• Excellent IT skills including MS Office suite and ability to use Internet, email and social media. Database experience would be an advantage (Salesforce) 
• Experience of working with or being a volunteer
• Knowledge of Battersea and Wandsworth

Hope for Justice has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager to join our global Finance team. In this role, the Finance Manager will provide support on the reporting of all entities within the Hope for Justice group (including African entities) for management & statutory accounts and will provide oversight and control of grants globally from bids through to monitoring spend and financial reporting both internally and to donors. The Finance Manager reports into our Director of International Finance and works closely with other key stakeholders and requires excellent relationship and collaboration skills, and the ability to work with senior leadership.

Main Duties:

• Maintain the Consolidated Accounts (in Microsoft Dynamics Business Centre) of all entities within Hope for Justice group, (including Retrak entities) and work with the local country teams to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting.
• Work with Director of Finance to further embed and enhance the new ledger systems within MDBC. In addition to helping reshape the finance processes and procedures.
• Maintain the granular level data on each grant, monitoring spend against restricted funds and communicating available spends/completion of spends.
• Support the income generating teams with Donor Financial Reports, ensuring data is provided in adequate time and in the required format, as per each bid requirement.
• Understand and uphold the standards outlined in the Hope for Justice Safeguarding policies, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with our work and reporting concerns if they do arise.
