Causeway is a national charity that exists to create lasting change for marginalised and vulnerable people. This includes survivors of modern slavery and those caught in cycles of exploitation and crime. Causeway has been supporting thousands of individuals to make progress and thrive for more than 10 years, and we currently work with over 2,000 services users each year. We offer a person-centred approach to trauma support, so that those on their recovery journey feel seen and heard, but not judged or defined by their experiences. Our services include, but are not limited to: safe houses, one-to-one specialist support, holistic crisis support interventions and community connection groups. We also signpost service users into: counselling, training courses, volunteering and employment.

How this role fits into the vision and objectives of Causeway

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate on a maternity cover basis working primarily in our male safe- house based in Sunderland, however there will be occasional support in our family accommodation also. In this role you will be supporting and provide casework support toSurvivors of Modern day Slavery living within our safe-house. This role includes providing service users with emotional and practical support; advocating on their behalf, communicating with other organisations including but not limited to health professionals, legal representation and the Home office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Case working service users identified as PVOHT (Potential Victims of Human Trafficking).
• Regular feedback and review meetings with Accommodation Coordinator.
• Arranging and attending appointments for individuals or families.
• Following up all paperwork/online reporting in adherence to the terms of the contract. Including but not limited to; journey plans, risk assessments and inductions.
• Ensuring that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
• Ensuring progression of individuals through the system;
• Liaising with organisations and individuals regarding service users and Causeway in a professional manner - including but not limited to SATco, UK Visas and Immigration, Modern Slavery Human Trafficking Unit, other agencies, police, and medical professionals.
• Ensuring accurate logging of all support hours.
• Ensuring exit strategies are being prepared in a timely fashion.
• Dealing with out of hour crisis in accordance with on call rota.
• Receiving out of hours’ referrals in accordance with the on call rota.
• Carrying out inductions, journey plan reviews and updating the client management system regularly.
• Supporting service users to attend appointments when appropriate.
• Some basic housekeeping duties including the cleaning and preparation of bedrooms for new service users.
• Ensuring that volunteers who work with you on shift have the proper level of support and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Ensuring adherence to all internal procedures regarding Causeway, the Safe Houses and any legislation
• Promoting Causeway in adherence to the terms of the contract – this may include attending events on behalf of Causeway as a whole.

Programme Officer, Sustainable Chemistry

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) have a fantastic opportunity for a Programme Officer to join our small new team focussed on green and sustainable chemistry. The position is for a fixed-term period of three years.

You will be joining the RSC at an exciting time as we develop our next organisational strategy. The team will help shape how we build on and connect across recent work in areas like Sustainable Labs, Digital Futures, Future Workforce & Educational Pathways, Chemicals Waste & Pollution and the 25th anniversary celebration of our journal Green Chemistry.

Reporting initially to our Head of Science & Sustainability Strategy Lead, your work will enable us to explore and prioritise opportunities to maximise our immediate and long-term impacts in everything from sustainability conferences and communities to tools, professional development and beyond.

• Scope and prioritise RSC Sustainable Chemistry programmes e.g. convening, conferencing, developing tools, resources, standards & metrics, training and professional development, new communities.
• Work in partnership with colleagues to identify, evaluate & prioritise opportunities and impacts e.g. collaborating with Publishing, Membership, Science & Communities, Professional Development, Communications, Marketing, Data Science & Insights, Product Management and Business Development.
• Build partnerships in the UK and internationally with organisations that share our commitment to driving and supporting sustainability in science e.g. research funders, sister societies, sustainability-focussed for- and not-for-profits, universities, chemistry-using businesses, and their suppliers.
• Develop effective relationships with our member and journal communities to align with their passion and expertise in achieving green & sustainable chemistry goals.
• Develop and deliver Sustainable Chemistry projects and programmes
• Track and report impacts, and contribute to a culture of continual improvement and innovation

At the RSC we embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate. Although this role is contractually based at our Cambridge office, you will be able to work from home within the UK, with the expectation that you will attend the office a minimum of average two days per week initially, with some travel for meetings and events. Home-Start is committed to promoting the welfare of families with young children to enable them to have the best start in life. We are recruiting a Family Support Coordinator to help us provide targeted, specialised support to families in Barnet, who could be struggling with any of a range of issues. This includes those with children under the age of 5, expecting parents who may be experiencing poor mental health or families with complex circumstances with children up to the age of 19.

Our Coordinators are integral members of the Home-Start team, as well as wider teams of professionals from universal and specialist services to provide a coordinated response to families’ needs. They assess need and carefully match volunteers with families. This may include instigating Early Help assessments and attending case planning meetings. 

Coordinators work with their own volunteer team, ensuring they are supported and fully trained to achieve the best outcomes for families and, in particular, the children. Coordinators work with families in their own home. They are skilled in recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns, be apt in completing strengths-based assessments and conversations. They also have a deep understanding of the issues families can face and the link with childhood development and difficulties they may experience later in life.

The post holder will build on our existing work and our relationships in Barnet, to deliver a volunteer-led home-visiting service and related activities to local families. This will require a good working knowledge of the borough, community partners and agencies. You will ideally be co-located in one of the community centres or community venues but will be required to travel around the borough regularly. Coordinators will allso participate in weekly family groups in each borough, based in the children's centres and family hubs.

Summary

Our SEAS Advocates are responsible for the day-to-day running of activities across the South East Autism Support (SEAS) Programme run by Advocacy for All. Our funding comes from the Kent & Medway NHS and Local Authority Partnership Trust. We facilitate a range of support for autistic adults without additional care and support needs in the community, including the Touch Base Project (crisis alternatives) and All Together Autistic (peer support groups).

The SEAS Programme employs the principles of self-advocacy – supporting individuals to be independent and to have their own voices be heard in conversations around their health and social wellbeing. It is not our role to offer advice or to provide direct or representational advocacy to our members. Instead, we offer a safe, adaptive environment for supported self-help through information, discussion, and lived-experience perspectives. We are committed to fostering a strong sense of autistic identity amongst our community of members, with person-centred and co-created ways of working.

Each of our SEAS Advocates will work across all of our projects, with a blend of one-to-one and group facilitation. Advocates will offer supported time-limited self-help for a caseload of autistic adults at risk of crisis across Kent and Medway, both face-to-face and via phone/Zoom. They will also run regular peer support groups, with each Advocate taking responsibility for communication, facilitation, advertisement, and growth of the offer across a particular geographic region.

As part of a small team, our Advocates will be expected to work autonomously and use their initiative to adapt and expand the SEAS offer. We support our Advocates to maintain high levels of quality and consistency through regular supervision, team meetings, and our Autism-Forward Training (AFT) offer.

Autism-Forward Training (AFT)

We are committed to providing a professional, sustainable service for our members. As such, SEAS Advocates will be expected to hold, or be willing to work towards, a directly relevant autism- or advocacy-related qualification at Level 4 or above.

Advocates will be expected to identify a relevant course and educational provider, apply, and complete the course of study independent of their working commitments.

Advocacy for All will fund tuition fees and expenses up to the value of £2,500 p/a.

A temporary change of working pattern to 4-day working week while be considered for the duration of the training course by request.

We also provide a range of in-house training and e-Learning to support Advocates to develop new skills and maintain core competencies.

Geographical Responsibilities

You will have primary responsibility for arranging, facilitating, and growing the group offer in the following area:

West Kent - Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Malling, and Tunbridge Wells.

By March 2025, we hope to offer at least 2 monthly groups in each of these boroughs.

There will also be some travel outside of your area for 1:1 Touch Base project cases and to cover other groups, as required. We cover expenses over and beyond the equivalent of a return journey to your allocated office base.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To maintain a reasonable caseload of Touch Base interventions – offering 6 weeks of goal-oriented, one-to-one self-advocacy sessions to individuals across Kent and Medway both remotely (phone or Zoom) and face-to-face.
• To facilitate, sustain, and grow our All Together Autistic peer support group offer – with primary responsibility for passing across information in a timely manner, introducing new members to groups, and booking spaces/activities.
• To use own initiative to make links with local and regional organisations, in order to represent the SEAS Programme in the areas in which you run groups.
• To support with responding to enquiries from prospective members and professionals.
• To support with the production and coordination of e-bulletins, newsletters, posters, flyers, brochures, and other assorted materials for the SEAS programme.
• To support with the maintenance of records, databases and files, as needed.
• To ensure that all discussions and meetings concerning the client are focussed on their needs and aspirations. To involve members in discussions about their support in meaningful and appropriate ways.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

PA Support to the CEO (estimated 30% of the role) 

• Effective diary management for the CEO: 
  • Corresponding with internal and external contacts to arrange meetings 
  • Ensuring CEO time is managed with a mixture of meetings and space for desk work 
  • Maintaining an overview of upcoming appointments for the CEO and highlighting upcoming meetings to the CEO

• Support for Board, Committee and Senior Management Team meetings, including: 
  • Scheduling meetings and room bookings 
  • Maintaining the annual Board schedule of meetings and deadlines for papers 
  • Coordinating the production of Board and Committee meeting papers, ensuring these are shared with all trustees and relevant staff ahead of meetings 
  • Minute meetings board, committee and other relevant meetings 
  • Ensure Board portal is up to date and accessible for all trustees 
  • Keep track of actions resulting from Board and Committee meetings and offer support for these to be completed by members of the Senior Management Team and CEO as agreed.

We are looking for a training and development lead who will design and implement our training and conference programmes. You will work with legal and community organisations to understand their legal needs and tailor the training to give lawyers and advisers the tools they need to help their communities. You will develop resources and training that are practical, holistic and comprehensive and delivered through a range of online and in person methods. 

We already have established conferences and a training programme, working with partner organisations to deliver excellent resources but there is a need to develop this further. You will be supported in the role by the Events and Communications Coordinator.

You will be passionate and enthusiastic about access to justice with a training and development background. You will lead on the development of a new range of resources for the wider access to justice community with a focus on housing issues. You will also work closely with other staff to re-imagine and represent existing content in new ways. As LAG is at the heart of the social justice lawyering community, the successful candidate will work closely with our partner organisations.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

• Plan and manage a comprehensive training and conference programme.
• Identify and utilise the most appropriate platforms for delivery of different activity (e.g. in person, e-learning, webinar, podcasts) to make the most effective use of resources and meet customer need.
• · Work with subject matter experts, curating and creating content as needed.
• · Work with and develop relationships with lawyers and advice organisations and community groups to understand their learning needs.
• To develop digital content of the training materials, event video production, design brochures and training materials and keep these up to date and relevant.

Job Outline:

CFAB is a national charity and the UK branch of the International Social Service network. CFAB’s social work team helps to resolve cases involving child protection, children in care, unaccompanied children, and vulnerable adults when the case crosses international borders. CFAB social workers and caseworkers offer advice and guidance to individuals and local authorities and help to link social work services between the UK and other countries.

The main purpose of this role is to assist with the day to day running of the CFAB Advice Line and manage a caseload of allocated inter-country cases originating from the UK or overseas.

Key responsibilities:

To participate in running the advice line service and responding to enquiries made to CFAB:

• Offer advice to local authority professionals, NGOs and individuals on international child protection issues and casework
• Advise on CFAB referral procedure and fees
• Send follow-up information and documents to enquirers
• Liaise with overseas partners for advice and country-specific information

To manage a caseload of allocated cases originating from the UK or overseas:

• Offer advice and guidance to referrers on good practice in international child protection casework
• Assess cases referred to CFAB, identifying the intervention required and the resources/agency to undertake it
• Prepare information for referral abroad or to an agency in the UK
• Establish, develop and maintain good relationships with clients and/or agencies in the UK and overseas to ensure the progression of cases to resolution
• Ensure smooth implementation of finance systems including invoicing for casework
• Ensure that all cases are dealt with in a manner consistent with CFAB guidelines and good practice standards

To support administration and quality assurance of CFAB’s case management:

• Collate and compile data on country information
• Input new case referrals to electronic case system
• Support the preparation for weekly case allocations meetings
• Monitor incoming email enquiries and referrals
• Liaise with social work database provider on behalf of the Social Work Team
• Update and maintain team databases

To support the development of the Social Work Team and wider CFAB team:

• Participate in social work and CFAB team meetings
• Actively participate in regular supervision meetings with line manager
• Represent CFAB appropriately to external partners
• Contribute to special projects and training delivery as required

To be adaptable and willing to take on new roles and responsibilities as the services of CFAB develop in response to the changing needs

Your new company

You will be working for a large faith-based organisation based in Central London. Although it is a religious charity, individuals from all backgrounds and faiths are welcome.This is a permanent position that is Hybrid with 2/3 days in the office per week. Working hours are flexible and core hours are between 10-4.

Your new role

• Support the Payroll Manager in providing an accurate and timely payroll service.
• Input data into the Payroll Systems to ensure that details of staff, ministers and pensioners, including tax codes, entitlements, NI and other deductions are correctly set up.
• Calculate final payments as notified by HR and send P45s by the contractual pay date following the employee's last day of service.
• Ensure all statutory and voluntary reductions are made correctly.
• Prepare and post payroll summaries to the nominal ledger and reconcile control accounts.
• Update and submit RTI submissions to HMRC and upload tax code changes, ensuring all data is correct.
• Produce monthly debit statements, deal with staff queries and provide payroll information to HR, HMRC and other government departments.
• Prepare bank reconciliations for all bank and deposit accounts.
• Carry ou the annual payroll year-end routine, ensuring that the records reconcile with net pay, PAYE and other departments on annual returns.

The Supporter Care team is the first point of contact for all supporter and donor queries, so you will be at the frontline, engaging with a variety of people contacting Scope. The role of the Supporter Care Coordinator is to ensure that each of these people feels appreciated, informed, and satisfied after engaging with Scope, leaving them feeling valued and committed to giving their ongoing support.

You will:

• Be responsible for handling incoming queries from supporters, across telephone, email, and post, as well handling outbound supporter service calls and other communications.
• Process donations from different channels and sources, thanking supporters in a timely manner and maintaining good records of these actions.
• Report to the Supporter Care Team Leader, and sit within the wider Fundraising team.
• Work closely with colleagues across the directorate, providing support in key periods, and contributing to overall fundraising income goals and an improved supporter experience.

The role
Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in establishing and developing Global Greengrants Fund UK’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) work. The new role of MEAL Officer will undertake high-quality data management and analysis to produce key learnings on the outcomes of GGF’s grantmaking and other programmatic activity, as well as leading system improvements to our evolving monitoring, evaluation and learning framework in collaboration with global colleagues. They will be providing support to the emerging global learning function, and the role will support the delivery of learning activities across our network to develop clear briefs, learnings and findings that can be used by other functions, including the Communications and Philanthropic Partnerships teams, to strengthen the organisation’s external and internal engagement and knowledge sharing activities. This will include developing appropriate methodologies and tools to collate, validate, summarise, analyse and report on key trends within our grantmaking using and improving on a range of data sources including grantee application forms and reports. Working as part of the UK Programme Support function and reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, the post holder will also collaborate closely with colleagues across the global organisation Global Greengrants Fund, particularly within the Programmes, Communications, and Learning teams towards realising organisational aims.

The candidate profile
The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, and/or grant-making organisation. They will be an experienced, senior-level specialist with a strong track record in data collection, monitoring and analysis, with good working knowledge of a range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, tools and systems, and in using this information to evaluate and recommend adaptations, and in reporting. Higher-level qualifications/certification in a relevant field, post-graduate qualification would be a distinct advantage, particularly in the social sciences and/or use of mixed method approaches. They will have demonstrated experience authoring MEAL related reports, either organisational reports or academic publications; demonstrated ability to coordinate and improve the process of data collection, analysis and reporting and demonstrated experience in managing datasets, databases, programming, and other analysis software. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills; and be confident in engaging a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including at senior levels. They have exceptional organisational and research abilities, with strong attention to detail and accuracy, including analysing large amounts of information from disparate sources. They should have excellent interpersonal understanding, relationship building, and interpersonal skills to build strong alliances with diverse constituencies. They also thrive in a virtual environment and are motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions.
