Development Research & Data Officer– Permanent | Full time

Salary: £31,691 to £34,214 plus membership of Civil Service pension scheme
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: National Museum of Scotland, Chambers Street, Edinburgh

About the Development Research and Data Officer role

Our Development Research and Data Officer helps to ensure long-term fundraising success for National Museums Scotland by maximising the use of the CRM database and developing the prospect pipeline for campaigns and revenue fundraising. We have lots of exciting fundraising campaigns including acquisitions to develop the collections, research, conservation, community engagement and exhibitions.

As the Development Research and Data Officer at National Museums Scotland you will:

  • Be the database expert (Tessitura and Raisers Edge) within the Development Team
  • Update and interrogate the donor database to develop profiles, segment data and produce reports and analysis
  • Manage the prospect pipeline through the donor database
  • Be the responsible for the due diligence of existing and prospective supporters
  • Manage a portfolio of fundraising research resources and suppliers

Skills and experience we’re looking for in our Development Research and Data Officer:

  • Expert knowledge, initiative and perseverance to proactively find the best processes to ensure the donor database is meeting the needs of the Development Team in the most efficient way
     
  • Planning and organising skills – evaluating and prioritising different strands of work; managing workload to deliver best overall results
  • Analytical and reporting skills - identifying relevant information; assessing and evaluating information from donor database to better understand donors and prospects; presenting clear, succinct and timely data and reports
