Reporting directly to the Head of Service, the Operational Manager will be responsible for leading the process management of Knowsley’s Integrated Youth Service (IYS) Offer. With a strong understanding of young people’s services and a commitment to quality youth work, the post holder will create and maintain effective systems linking face to face interventions with the capturing of robust and accurate outcome measurement data.
The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the Targeted 1-1 offer as part of the IYS offer in Knowsley including line management of designated staff, financial management, and networking with other key services.
The post holder will support all aspects of the wider IYS ensuring that MYA’s internal systems which govern finance, purchasing, recruitment and quality control are followed closely, while acting as a key figure in connecting Knowsley operations with Head Office and Support Services.
The post holder must hold relevant qualification to at least NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a related subject.

The Role
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work across both Houses of Parliament to ensure that our updated Safeguarding policy is effectively implemented and embedded across our varied teams.
The Parliamentary Estate is a mixed-use site, with many different activities involving a wide range of individuals: from members and staff of both Houses, to visitors on democratic access tours and attending proceedings, school children on educational tours, VIP visitors and parliamentary delegations, and tourists from all over the world.
You will need to work with teams across Parliament to understand these different activities, assess the risks of harm to children and adults at risk, the likelihood of those risks materialising, and how Parliament can effectively mitigate them. You will lead in the roll out of our updated Safeguarding policy alongside the development of a network of trained safeguarding coordinators, developing a community of interest to share best practice and guidance.
Some of the responsibilities for this role include:
- To be the lead source of advice and guidance on safeguarding policy and practice within Parliament.
- Support the work of the Safeguarding board, providing expert briefing, analysis and recommendations as required by the board.
- To act as an additional Designated Safeguarding Officer, supporting the work of the existing Designated Safeguarding Leads as required.
- To lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the new safeguarding policy, using a risk-based approach to embedding it in parliamentary activities, structures and culture.
- To establish a network of local safeguarding co-ordinators across Parliamentary teams
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Experience of successfully implementing safeguarding policy and guidance in an environment which, like Parliament, is a mixed-use site, with a wide range of activities and stakeholders. Evidence of using a risk-based approach to deliver robust and proportionate training, procedures and guidance in support of meeting statutory obligations.
- Specialist knowledge of safeguarding relating to children and adults at risk, with a demonstrable understanding of current legislation, including core principles and current best practice, and the ability to apply this in a pragmatic way relevant to our organisational context.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work across organisational boundaries and teams. Able to confidently engage with and influence people at all levels within the organisation, including senior leaders.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to meet demand and deadlines whilst taking full responsibility for the quality of the work delivered both individually and through others.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and explain ideas in a way that decision-makers understand and can act on.
- Ability to lead individuals and teams, building and maintaining strong collaborative partnerships to achieve organisational goals, whilst upholding the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.

What we want from you
We’re looking for a curious, organised and enthusiastic person to work with our high value fundraisers to support them with research and insight on new and existing funding opportunities to support our ambitious growth plans.
As well as conducting research and creating research profiles, you’ll work closely with the Research and Insight Manager to implement new prospect research processes and ways of working to maximise the effectiveness of our high value fundraising programme. You’ll also run finance and KPI data reports for the Head of Philanthropy, Head of Appeal and Head of Partnerships to ensure that we have an understanding of fundraising performance.
You’ll have experience of proactive prospecting, creating research profiles and network maps. You’ll also have knowledge of high value fundraising principals. You’ll have excellent relationship building skills.

We are looking for a professional with at least 5 years’ experience in membership management, stakeholder engagement and events to lead our outreach and engagement activities for the Parkinson’s community across Europe.
Key tasks
- Strategic membership activities including:

- Leading Parkinson’s Europe membership recruitment and diversification

Key functions & Tasks (Role Description)
- To lead with compassion and inspiration to ensure strategic influence of VCFSE at system level to better enable integrated working approaches between system leaders and sector partners
- Work with the NEL VCSE Collaborative members to ensure they are effectively represented and actively involved across the structures that form the ICS
- Together with the Partnership Development Director, produce a quarterly budget report and regular updates including emerging opportunities and risks in a timely fashion
- Work with the Partnership Development Director on producing quarterly budget reports
- Lead and work with the NEL Collaborative to identify and communicate strategic and business development goals which are in line with community and ICS outcomes
- In collaboration with the Partnership Development Director, plan and Chair the NEL VCSE Collaborative meetings and ensure relevant business is discussed with clear actions
- Ensure that the NEL VCSE Collaborative leadership group adheres to the Terms of Reference (ToR) and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in place and membership is fair and reviewed regularly with actions and conflicts of interest appropriately managed
- Ensure the NEL VCSE Collaborative addresses and incorporates relevant legislation, policies and best practice guidance, including equality and diversity
- Develop and regularly update an effective activity plan with NEL VCSE leadership group members which supports the work of Place Level Groups
- Work with the Partnerships Development Director to provide and promote system-wide communication through a range of media channels
Person Specification
- Demonstrable understanding and experience of the current and emerging challenges and opportunities within the regional Health and Care system and the local VCFSE
- Experience of working with the VCFSE sector at a strategic and senior management level, including championing and advocating on behalf of the VCFSE sector
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of VCFSE and healthcare related policies with an understanding of the issues facing the VCFSE at local, regional and national level
- An understanding of the diversity of the VCFSE including grassroots level/micro- organisations
- Experience of leading meetings representing a diversity of views as well as change management processes at a strategic level
- Able to negotiate and influence with the ability to communicate with tact and sensitivity where appropriate. The role will include managing potentially complex and politically sensitive relationships.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of directing and leading a similar sized UK philanthropic organisation (or a fundraising team within a larger charity), including writing and implementing strategies and evaluating outcomes. Substantial experience of management of teams at both strategic and tactical level including developing skills, abilities, performance management and confidence in staff is required as are high level speaking skills.

The Partnership Development Team is comprised of partnership experts across a portfolio of institutional partners. The team seeks to deliver exceptional global partnerships, optimising both funding and influence. About the role
As the Account Manager you will contribute to and effectively support our global programme partnerships work, to achieve Save the Children's strategic objectives.
The focus of the role will include maximising the impact of SCUK's relationships with the UK Government including Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), ensure effective knowledge management and capacity building for the UK Government account internally – including for UK Government funded programmes, pipeline and influencing work.

About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Skills in partnership management and market assessment in relation to overall positioning with partners.
- Experience, interest and knowledge of current thinking and future trends and thorough understanding of international development issues.
- Proven experience of providing creative and innovative approaches in developing new initiatives that contribute towards partnership objectives.
- Experience in relationship management, working with Governments, donors, trusts and foundations, or equally demanding partners.
