The People & Culture team (PACT) is responsible for corporate people strategy and planning. The team develops HR policies and standards and provides efficient, accurate and customer-focused support to internal customers across the Administration and Joint Departments

The Role

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work across both Houses of Parliament to ensure that our updated Safeguarding policy is effectively implemented and embedded across our varied teams.

The Parliamentary Estate is a mixed-use site, with many different activities involving a wide range of individuals: from members and staff of both Houses, to visitors on democratic access tours and attending proceedings, school children on educational tours, VIP visitors and parliamentary delegations, and tourists from all over the world.

You will need to work with teams across Parliament to understand these different activities, assess the risks of harm to children and adults at risk, the likelihood of those risks materialising, and how Parliament can effectively mitigate them. You will lead in the roll out of our updated Safeguarding policy alongside the development of a network of trained safeguarding coordinators, developing a community of interest to share best practice and guidance.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

• To be the lead source of advice and guidance on safeguarding policy and practice within Parliament.
• Support the work of the Safeguarding board, providing expert briefing, analysis and recommendations as required by the board.
• To act as an additional Designated Safeguarding Officer, supporting the work of the existing Designated Safeguarding Leads as required.
• To lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the new safeguarding policy, using a risk-based approach to embedding it in parliamentary activities, structures and culture.
• To establish a network of local safeguarding co-ordinators across Parliamentary teams

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

• Experience of successfully implementing safeguarding policy and guidance in an environment which, like Parliament, is a mixed-use site, with a wide range of activities and stakeholders. Evidence of using a risk-based approach to deliver robust and proportionate training, procedures and guidance in support of meeting statutory obligations.
• Specialist knowledge of safeguarding relating to children and adults at risk, with a demonstrable understanding of current legislation, including core principles and current best practice, and the ability to apply this in a pragmatic way relevant to our organisational context.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work across organisational boundaries and teams. Able to confidently engage with and influence people at all levels within the organisation, including senior leaders.
• Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to meet demand and deadlines whilst taking full responsibility for the quality of the work delivered both individually and through others.
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and explain ideas in a way that decision-makers understand and can act on.

We're looking for a Research and Insight Executive to join a newly created team within our Fundraising directorate. The team have been created to work alongside the high value teams (Philanthropy and Partnerships) to provide them with the highest quality donor research, funding propositions and stewardship materials required to create transformative partnerships with businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations.

As a Research and Insight Executive, your role will play a crucial role, supporting our ambitious high value fundraising strategy and will be pivotal in the development of Prostate Cancer UK’s first Major Appeal. You’ll be identifying new prospecting and senior volunteer opportunities and providing insights to the high value teams.

You'll identify and research potential donors, creating detailed profiles to inform engagement strategies. You'll also develop strategic relationships and access routes to prospective supporters.

Your analytical skills will be essential for conducting financial and data analysis to inform our decision-making and strategy development. Additionally, you'll play a key role in streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency by developing and implementing new processes.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a curious, organised and enthusiastic person to work with our high value fundraisers to support them with research and insight on new and existing funding opportunities to support our ambitious growth plans. 

As well as conducting research and creating research profiles, you’ll work closely with the Research and Insight Manager to implement new prospect research processes and ways of working to maximise the effectiveness of our high value fundraising programme. You’ll also run finance and KPI data reports for the Head of Philanthropy, Head of Appeal and Head of Partnerships to ensure that we have an understanding of fundraising performance.

You’ll have experience of proactive prospecting, creating research profiles and network maps. You’ll also have knowledge of high value fundraising principals. You’ll have excellent relationship building skills.

This is a rewarding role where you'll be working closely with high value fundraisers to ensure they have the right opportunities and insights to build mutually beneficial, long-term relationships with supporters and ultimately, grow income to fund transformational work and achieve impact for men.

We’re looking for a mid-weight Graphic Designer to work in-house to create artwork for marketing and communications campaigns across a wide range of media, including print, digital, animation, and video. The Association is now looking to appoint a Policy Manager to develop, manage and lead the ADPH Policy Programme, working across sectors and professions to build relationships with key stakeholders.

About the NEL VCSE Collaborative

The North East London (NEL) Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Collaborative works closely with the ICB to work together strategically by shaping, improving and delivering services and contributes to the system design and organisational development of the ICB, ensuring Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) contribution.

The leadership group of the seven borough representatives meets monthly and is currently working to develop a VCFSE strategy to raise the profile of the sector and support the VCFSE to work in partnership with the health system to address local health inequalities and improve the health outcomes of the communities in NEL. We are now keen to expand our work and recruit a Chair.

World Cancer Research Fund champions the latest and most authoritative scientific research from around the world on cancer prevention and survival through diet, weight and physical activity, so that we can empower people to make informed lifestyle choices to reduce their cancer risk.

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Director who will be responsible for the work of the charity within the UK. The Director will be the strategic and day to day leader of the UK organisation and will also work hands-on not only with his/her direct reports but also all teams in the office. We are seeking a leader who can take the UK charity’s fundraising to new heights; thus, this is a particularly important focus area.

The role will be directly overseeing the World Cancer Research Fund UK’s Fundraising and Health Information Departments. You will report to the CEO and work in partnership with the UK CEO and other senior executives in updating and implementing the organisation’s strategy and objectives. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of directing and leading a similar sized UK philanthropic organisation (or a fundraising team within a larger charity), including writing and implementing strategies and evaluating outcomes. You will have proven experience of delivering fundraising objectives as well as a strong track record in communications and up to date knowledge of social media and digital strategies. Substantial experience of management of teams at both strategic and tactical level including developing skills, abilities, performance management and confidence in staff is required as are high level speaking skills.

About the Role:

This fundraiser will work closely with senior academics in the Humanities Division. The post will focus primarily on funding for posts, scholarships and access and outreach in the academic faculties. An interest and appreciation for the arts and humanities is essential.

To Be Successful You’ll Need:

• To be an experienced development professional with a strong track record of securing major gifts and the ability to secure gifts in the range of £100k-£1m+
• Confidence to work with people from a range of backgrounds, both internally and externally

Salary:

Grade 8: £45,585 - £54,395 per annum with possible extension to £59,421, plus an Oxford University weighting of £1,500 per annum (pro-rata).

About the role

As the Account Manager you will contribute to and effectively support our global programme partnerships work, to achieve Save the Children's strategic objectives.

The focus of the role will include maximising the impact of SCUK's relationships with the UK Government including Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), ensure effective knowledge management and capacity building for the UK Government account internally – including for UK Government funded programmes, pipeline and influencing work.

You will support and liaise with a network of internal and external stakeholders to optimise our UK Government engagement, in pursuit of specific partnership opportunities. As well as contribute to the development of the wider partnership strategy, lead and contribute to cross team projects.

 In this role, you will: 

• Ensure a broad-ranging and inclusive partnership. This includes:
  • Contributing to the implementation of SCUK's overall institutional partnerships strategy.
  • Management of information and status of relationships/financing to keep our leadership (CEO, Executive Directors) up-to-date with our partnerships.
  • Supporting the organisation to continually build strategic understanding of the UK Government and any evolving trends that may impact the relationship.
  • Representing Save the Children with the appropriate partner contacts and providing strong support to colleagues in their external engagement (country, regional and HQ levels).
  • Exploring new avenues of collaboration and new funding modalities to maximise income and return on investment.
  • Secure support from colleagues from across the organisation to contribute to our engagement with the UK government
• Ensure increased quality and consistency in the design, delivery and reporting of all projects/awards. This includes:
  • Development and delivery of donor specific capacity building plans.
  • Working closely with the Donor Compliance team to identify risks, mitigating measures and setting adequate monitoring mechanisms to support wider award management processes.
  • Developing common standard approaches to quality and compliance across the account. Ensuring partner regulations and expectations are well understood among parties involved.
  • Engaging with wider Save the Children in generating and sharing learning and best practices.
  • Ensuring strong knowledge management systems are in place.
• Collaborating with team members to develop and embed our partnership and management approach, to maximise the benefit of the team's work to the wider organisation and movement.

 About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Skills in partnership management and market assessment in relation to overall positioning with partners.
• Experience, interest and knowledge of current thinking and future trends and thorough understanding of international development issues.
• Proven experience of providing creative and innovative approaches in developing new initiatives that contribute towards partnership objectives.
• Experience in relationship management, working with Governments, donors, trusts and foundations, or equally demanding partners.
• Experience of undertaking industry trend and donor specific research, finding relevant, reliable, and up to date information quickly.
• Ideally knowledge of and experience working directly with Governments and other key factors such as multi-lateral institutions e.g. their structures, operations and priorities (geographic, sectorial, thematic, at policy & advocacy levels).
• Ideally a good understanding of project design, quality programming and effective delivery.
• Self-driven: ability to take a pro-active approach and work on own initiative; problem-solving skills and creative thinking in fluid or less structured environments.
• Excellent coordination and relationship building skills in forming and maintaining both internal and external relationships.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to present complex information in a clear and succinct manner, ability to analyse trends and report on key financial metrics.
