Educational inequalities are vast, and the widening disadvantage gap is diminishing social mobility progress. Working with partners, including Barclays LifeSkills, Dell Technologies, Network Rail and the NHS we deliver industry-focused, skills workshops to enhance opportunities for young people (aged 9-18+).
Each year we impact 60,000 young people thanks to industry partnerships and their volunteers’ engagement across lightbulb moments in schools, through to intensive connections with employers.
The Programme Coordinator role
Due to the exciting expansion of our programmes we are seeking a new team member on a fixed term basis o support our next year of growth and delivery.
In this role you will provide crucial customer service and administration to support the delivery of our inspiring employability and skills-focused workshops in schools.

Hybrid working

I will support advocates to be accountable for managing the day-to-day delivery of advocacy to their clients, ensuring they take responsibility for managing their caseload and delivering positive outcomes for clients accessing the service. I will lead the team to ensure Rethink CARES is embedded in the service and in the delivery of the service to ensure a positive working culture is maintained.

About Mental Health Innovations (MHI)
Founded in November 2017 following the success of The Royal Foundation’s ‘Heads Together’ campaign, it launched its first product, Shout, in 2019. Shout is a free, confidential, 24/7 text message service for anybody to text when they may be struggling with anxiety, loneliness or depression through to self harm or suicidal thoughts.
Job Purpose:
To support the recruitment and admission of new volunteers, promoting volunteering opportunities and completing background checks.
Key Responsibilities
- Ask for and check references for new volunteers
- Coordinate and attend volunteer recruitment events, such as Universities; organise volunteers and staff to support
- Follow up with prospective volunteers to encourage them to apply
- Work with the Communications team to promote volunteering opportunities online
- Coordinate and run regular information sessions for prospective volunteers to explain the volunteering opportunities
- Initiate contact with volunteers and trainees to process DBS/PVG/police vetting checks as required
- Check the status of volunteers who are part of the relevant Update Service
- Proactively monitor and follow up on the progress of checks to keep on top of weekly targets
- Coordinate video calls to verify ID documents, checking documents with utmost attention to detail
- Handle queries on checks, and troubleshoot cases such as missing documentation or anything outside the accepted DBS/PVG/police vetting procedure
- Liaise with our selected external provider for any queries
- Escalate disclosures to a panel for review, if required
- Accurately update outcome information for each volunteer
- Ensure the confidentiality of volunteer information is maintained and securely discard volunteer documentation once checks are complete

About the Team:
The International Programmes Department is made up of four regions: East Africa, West Africa, Southern Africa, and South Asia; and three support teams: Programme Support and Knowledge team, the Programme Funding and Partnerships Team and the Programme Operations Team. The International Programmes Department delivers our work across Africa and South Asia focusing on quality programming including advocacy, learning and documentation.
About the Role:
The Senior Manager will manage a process through which Country Programmes (CPs) can access the human resources required to deliver their programme and project objectives effectively and efficiently. This will include working closely with CPs and regional offices to diagnose support needs and identify support options available. Additionally, the Manager will be expected to adopt a CP centred approach to decision making on support provisions and to manage an independent mechanism for quality assurance of the support provision to the CPs.
Following a recent Scoping Study and a process of consultation across the organisation about how such a model would work, the procedures and mechanisms within WaterAid that will be required as part of the Advisory and Support Hub model are currently being developed. The Advisory and Support Hub Manager will be required to:
- Manage the process of piloting the model in one selected region, if required.
- Review the lessons learnt from piloting the model and make recommendations on further improvements that may be required.
- Coordinate the roll-out of the model across the organisation.
- Manage the process of requesting, identifying, deploying, and reviewing assignments.
- Be responsible for maintaining the database or expertise both internal and external to WaterAid.
- Liaise closely with external sources of expertise such as partner and support organisations, international consultants and former WaterAid employees.
- Be responsible for establishing and leading quality review and feedback of support and advice provided.
About You:
- Proven experience in business and project management, preferably in technical support services or related role.
- Ability to manage service provision involving short-term simultaneous assignments to deliver support on time and within budget, using in-house staff and/or consultants (institutions and/or self-employed individuals).
- Proven experience of managing change processes.
- Experience of working with institutions in low- and middle-income countries.
- Effective communication skills and demonstrated experience of managing and motivating others and driving change.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work across cultures and to develop good relationships with diverse clients and international collaborators. An ability to achieve this through web-based communication platforms (Zoom and MS Teams, etc.) and working at a distance without face-to-face meetings.
- Analytical thinking and data-driven approach to decision making.
- A degree-level qualification in a related field.
- Good written and oral communication and reporting skills in English is essential.
- An ability to speak French would be an advantage.
Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:
- Experience of working in international development
- Experience of working in a self-funding or commercial environment
- Knowledge of water supply, sanitation, and hygiene
- A working knowledge of Portuguese would be an advantage.

About the role
We are recruiting for an Assistant Shop Manager to join a busy and creative team in Elephant and Castle. You will join an exciting team and collaborate to build a group of volunteers from all walks of life, raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness. We are bold with a culture of continuous review and improvement, where we try new things, take risks, and sometimes fail. There will be numerous opportunities to improve our team’s effectiveness. Your voice will count!
We also work closely with local artists and universities. We’d love you to bring your own ideas, along with your experience of fashion, retail and current trends, to this role. You will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression through training and development – many of our shop managers were promoted internally. Ensuring our recruitment practices are as equitable as possible is our number one priority so we are looking for someone who advocates for others and challenges injustice.
This is a permanent role. You will be primarily based in the Elephant and Castle shop, but you may be required to travel to other shops within London 1 & 2 on a short-term basis.

To be successful in this role you will have retail experience at a supervisory level alongside a genuine interest in charity retail. You will be keen to build your people management skills including working with Crisis members. We are particularly interested in meeting candidates with an interest or background in visual merchandising, although this is not essential. Job Summary
St John Ambulance is recruiting an experienced communications professional who has a specialism in reputation management, for a six-month, full-time contract.
As Senior Reputation Manager you will play a key role in protecting and enhancing St John’s reputation, proactively identifying, managing and mitigating organisational reputational risk. Being a top-class stakeholder manager and a highly effective influencer, you'll be able to quickly build relationships across a large, complex organisation. You will manage and participate in on-call communications rota, write reactive statements and brief senior leaders on an appropriate course of action.

The role
We are looking for a new Editor and Content Manager to lead the production of the magazine, help specify and develop a new digital version to run alongside the printed magazine, and to support the wider communications team, especially with content creation and the website.
What you will be doing
You will work closely with members, staff and suppliers to commission, edit and polish articles for the magazine and ensure that every page is top-quality and that it goes out to members on time and on-budget. On any one day in this exciting and varied role, you could be interviewing members for stories and spotlights, writing engaging articles for the magazine or our website, creating new website pages or editing existing ones, or sourcing on-brand images and photos.
The print magazine is very popular, and we now want to develop a winning digital version alongside the printed version, so one of your responsibilities will be to work with colleagues to oversee its digitisation.

Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals living with and affected by prostate cancer, providing crucial support through community-based initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Ensure smooth delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of group activities. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
- Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.
- Community Engagement: Conduct outreach to map existing support services and facilitate the integration of these services with the peer support groups. Host local engagement events to boost volunteer recruitment.

- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Best Practice Guidance document. Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies to maintain safe governance of peer support groups.
Skills and Qualities Required:
- Strong Facilitation and Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Project Management: Proven skills in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Ability to meet deadlines and manage a varied workload.
- Volunteer Management: Experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers in community settings. Knowledge of best practices in volunteer management.
- Influencing: Experience of influencing a wide range of partners and stakeholders, and in particular clinicians and voluntary and community providers within the health and wellbeing community.
- Community Development: Experience of developing and delivering community services with a range of stakeholders, including health and social care workers, commissioners, local authority and community and voluntary partners.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with the National Leadership Team representative for national events, you will manage the events team to deliver excellent service and event support for all New Wine events. This exciting role involves overseeing all aspects of event production, from content development to logistics and delegate management. The Events Team exists to support New Wine delegates, volunteers, and staff with the initial planning, coordination, and delivery of all New Wine events held throughout the year. Workspace: We have moved our office to Work.Life, with our main base being the Liverpool Street branch. Within the building, there are fantastic spaces for meeting, networking and coworking, as well as free coffee and events, breakfasts and well-being activities for us as members.
Healthcare: We are pleased to have recently launched Vitality Healthcare for team members who work more than 15 hours a week.
Events: Joining New Wine has exciting opportunities as we head to our two main events, the New Wine Leadership Conference and the New Wine Summer Festival. Depending on your job role, there may be other opportunities to head to site, but you will be invited, and arrangements will be made in advance. Specifically, at our two main events, we will look after you so you can do your job to the best of your ability. We also make sure TOIL is accrued so that you can rest to the best of your ability too!
Prayer Days: Your physical, mental, and spiritual health are incredibly important to us. While onsite at our events and throughout the year, we make sure to honour Prayer Days.
Pension: After completing three months and passing your probation, you will be automatically enrolled in the New Wine pension scheme. As part of the scheme, we will contribute 10% of your salary. This scheme does not require any contributions from you. However, if you would like to make additional contributions, you can arrange this with the Finance Manager.
