What will you be doing?

• Supporting learners with self-care and independence skills such as eating, drinking, washing, bathing, using the toilet, managing incontinence, dressing, mobility, and medication administration.
   
• Ensuring learners' care files are kept up to date and accurate.
   
• At the start of each shift, reviewing communication and log books, and liaising with staff at handover to ensure learners' needs are well documented and addressed.
   
• Establish supportive relationships with learners and encourage the development of stable relationships.
   
• Promote the emotional health and self-esteem of learners and support them through changes in their living situation and personal circumstances.

The Role

Volunteering Friends is our new, National Lottery Community Fund project, which builds on our existing work in Blaenau Gwent. By harnessing the power of volunteers, the project will work with older people (50+) living in Blaenau Gwent who are experiencing feelings of loneliness and/or isolation, and provide companionship, confidence building and encourage involvement in their local community. The project will consist of three interlinking strands: one-to-one befriending, delivered in the person’s home or over the telephone; community buddying, providing support to attend community groups; and the establishment of volunteer-led group activities for beneficiaries to attend based on local needs and interests.

 Key Duties:

1. Recruit, interview, induct, train and support volunteers.
2. Work closely with partners/referral agencies and funders to ensure a steady flow of participants into the projects.
3. Manage the matching/placement process of volunteers and participants, setting up and supporting new activities where appropriate.
4. Be responsible for project compliance, carrying out risk assessments for volunteer activity and regularly reviewing, including safeguarding arrangements.
5. Ensure monitoring evidence and impact data is collected to measure progress against agreed outcomes.

1. Provide administrative support for the project where required, processing volunteer expenses and maintaining databases.
2. Promote the project through a range of techniques, instigating interest in volunteering and encouraging engagement.
3. Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and project partners on a day-to-day basis.
4. Prepare reports to Delivery Leader and Project Manager based on agreed outputs and targets.
5. Manage your own time and diary effectively, and in line with the needs of the project.

Main Role & Responsibilities

As our Training & Engagement Manager: London & South East, you will be an active member of our Programmes team and work across our portfolio of programmes with particular focus on the Education programme. 

You will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, developing relationships and promoting Ygam training in London & the South East. You will recruit suitable delegates to workshops, working closely with a range of stakeholders from the education sector. 

You will provide training both face to face and online, with responsibility for delivering our assured workshops and promoting our work at conferences and events. Discovery is a student-run, charity based at Swansea University.  Each year, more than 400 student volunteers deliver community-based projects to enrich the lives of the community around them.

The role of the Volunteering Projects Manager

The Volunteering Projects Manager is responsible for the support, development and effectiveness of our projects. Providing a high level of support, coaching and development to our student volunteer project coordinators.

Salary –  £30,124.49 (Please not this is NOT pro rata. Discovery is a 4 day week organisation, the salary specified above is for a 28 hr working week.)

The Young Ealing Foundation’s vision is to ensure all young people in Ealing can access the opportunities and support they need to grow up and lead happy and safe lives, fulfil their potential and become a valued and listened to part of the local community. We work towards this by working with and in the community to empower small, local charities to thrive and flourish in order to enable sustainable, high quality service provision for children and young people and promote great youth work in all its forms.

As a small, place-based charity, we often find ourselves responding in dynamic ways to local need, whether of the children and young people in Ealing, or the grassroots charities who form our membership. This role would suit someone who gets excited about approaching opportunities in innovative ways and moving quickly to enact these. 

Our Ealing Young Champions programme has been developed over the last four years, and we have secured multi-year funding to run projects designed to engage and empower local young people to advocate for practical solutions to address the issues that they and their peers face. Whilst a core group has been established over time, the way the project is run will be set by the successful applicant according to their own experience of working with young people.

We are also about to begin an exciting new project, taking over a local Library and developing it as a hub for services for children, young people and families in Greenford, alongside a core library offer for the local community. The appointed person will be instrumental in engaging with local young people to ensure they have a say in how the building and services within it are developed.

Main Purpose of the role:

1. Manage the planning, recruitment and delivery of our Ealing Young Champions Youth Voice project

2. Advocate for and embed youth voice into the work of partners, stakeholders and members and identify new opportunities to develop youth voice and co-production programmes

3. Work with colleagues to set a strategy for embedding co-production in YEF’s organisational practice

4. To provide project management and support on youth engagement with the Greenford Library project

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Team and Rota Administrator for the National Domestic Abuse Helpline. The National Domestic Abuse Helpline is Refuge’s largest service. We have a busy team of Helpline Advisers working around the clock to support our callers, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, and a fantastic pool of volunteers. Support Workers enable people with particular needs to manage their tenancies and live independent lives of their choosing in the community and move towards greater independence by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package. The position is in Tower Hamlets at 140 Cannon Street Road E1 2LF and consists of 1 high support building with 20 flats, and 2 low support buildings with 20 lower support flats spread over two sites within close proximity.

The shift pattern for this role includes Earlies 8.00 - 16.00 and Lates 14.00 - 22.00. It also includes working 2 weekends per month.

What you'll do:
Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere
Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities
Conducting key work sessions as required, that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals
Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of 'positive risk taking'

Developing productive relationships with partner organisations to improve service outcomes
Adhering to lone working protocols and maintaining high levels of awareness in relation to the health and safety of yourself and colleagues
Involving customers in the design, development and delivery of the service
Encouraging and enabling tenants to pay their rent and avoid personal debt
Ensuring Look Ahead Health and Safety policies and local protocols are adhered to at all times e.g. fire risk assessments, fire alarm checks etc
Taking on shift leading responsibilities by coordinating and leading shifts in the absence of a manager

Location: Leatherhead in Surrey, with some working from home and within the community across Surrey

Salary: Circa £32,000

As Senior Service Manager, you will direct the strategic requirement, operational care standard and continuous improvement of services to the charity’s clients, the unpaid carers, across Surrey.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the Service Managers – ensuring operational excellence and compliancy within your allocated sector
• Collaborating with the other Senior Service Managers to execute strategic visions at the direction of the Head of Care Operations & Registered Manager
• Continuously aspiring to revolutionising the care and support provided to clients
• Providing expert leadership around Safeguarding Concerns and being a role model for
• other members of the operations management team
• Monitoring service provision - ensuring gaps and under contract hours are resolved and resources are being maximised with regards to impact on overall delivery of hours.
• Co-producing and implementing strategic plans for the delivery of care services for unpaid carers in alignment with the business plan.

The successful candidate will have a Care Certificate and knowledge of CQC regulations and Health Care Act and an ideally an NVQ Level 3 or 5 in Health and Social Care (or the willingness to commence in this qualification with 3 months).Previous line management experience, ideally in a care setting, including rostering and completing observations and supervisions is key, as is a good level of IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word/Excel) and the ability to learn to use other digital platforms and software. This role will report directly to the Head of IT Infrastructure. Hybrid office working is available, though occasional travel to various UK sites will be required.

As a Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our IT network, ensuring optimal performance, up-to-date security, and reliability.
