World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to refugees in the UK.STEP aims to support and empower people with experience of forced migration through a tailored employment programme that addresses the complex barriers refugees face in preparing for, and ultimately finding, work in the UK.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an Employment Advisor who will be based at the Refugee Council in Sheffield. You will provide employment support to refugee clients enrolled in the STEP programme and help them to achieve their employability goals. You will be the main point of contact for clients, delivering one on one support across a variety of employability activities including preparing CVs, writing cover letters, searching for jobs, applying for jobs, finding volunteering, work experience and training opportunities and preparing for interviews.

You will work to a variety of performance targets based on the progression outcomes of clients such as voluntary and work placements and achieving and sustaining paid employment.

About you

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Experience or knowledge within the refugee employment sector
• Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by unemployed people to finding work, including those who first language is not English
• Experience of providing advice and guidance and supervising a caseload of clients
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with clients with varying levels of English
• Competency in a second language desirable e.g. Arabic, Amharic, Dari, Farsi, Pashto, Tigrinya, Ukrainian

Our client, a leading London university, is looking to appoint a temporary PhD Programme Manager to cover sick leave. This role holder will be responsible for the day to day operation and delivery of the PhD Programme.  The purpose of this role is to manage the student life cycle from admission to graduation, through student management and progress monitoring, pastoral care, and ensuring the quality of the student experience.

Job purpose

· To support the team with the organisation and delivery of all food education programmes

This role will see the successful candidate manage and develop a portfolio of successful national events. · Develop the events portfolio by evaluating and monitoring current products and seeking out new events when appropriate

· Manage relationships with external partners including event companies, logistical suppliers and fundraising platforms

· Work with the Communications Team and Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) to identify strong supporter stories and PR opportunities

· Seek opportunities to share knowledge and learning with other members of the Events & Community Team

· Identify supporters with high value potential (i.e. corporate or major donor) and ensure they are shared with the Head of Fundraising

· With the support of the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community)  create and deliver budgets and KPIs targets for your area ensuring you monitor and report on progress against these budgets and KPIs

· Other duties as reasonable requested by the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) or Head of Fundraising

Skills and experience required

· Strong project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Job Purpose & Responsibilities:

To be responsible for the development of projects to deliver improved outcomes for local communities, including but not limited to, commercial space, community, health or leisure facilities, that respond to needs, assets and aspirations of the local neighbourhood in Maerdy and surrounding areas.

To effectively manage our commercial tenants in our buildings and their expectations, managing key issues and risks, effectively monitoring and reporting progress, creating and updating tenancy agreements and escalating issues where necessary.

To secure investment such as room rental income streams, to develop projects and programmes that meet the needs and aspirations of the community 

To foster positive relationships with local communities, involving residents and businesses in the development of proposals, utilising best practice co-design methods.   

The post holder will be responsible for establishing strong internal and external relationships and partnerships, taking a lead on liaison with external partner organisations to ensure successful collaboration.

To carry out consultation and mapping with the community in regards to regeneration needs, opportunities and issues in the Rhondda Fach area.

To act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders for

delegated/assigned projects. To offer advice, assistance and support on all aspects of Arts Factory’s growth agenda.

To ensure the senior Management Team get the necessary advice, support and information to enable them to fulfil their roles as decision makers and/or community leaders, with regards to the design and delivery of the project/s. This will include the preparation of reports to management/Board of Directors/Funders.

To prepare and present advice, briefing information and reports, to appropriate individuals and bodies, and to external organisations and public meetings, as required.

The post holder should be prepared to work outside of normal hours, including attending evening meetings, and occasional weekend working.

Ability to see beyond labels and be able to communicate and work with people from all walks of life.

The  post holder will need to hold a full clean driving licence and have use of a vehicle.

The Model of Care and Quality Improvement Officer role is all about making sure that the care and support models developed and implemented by the National Gambling Support Network (NGSN) are effective, efficient and of high quality. The post holder will support the work around the current and ongoing development of the model of care to make sure that the NGSN is delivering against best practice and evidence-based interventions, supporting quality improvement.  

You'll be working with the Quality and Performance Manager and providers to: 

• Develop and implement an NGSN model of care. 
• Monitor quality and performance standards as part of the commissioning process.
• Support the tracking of the evaluation and delivery of related project milestones.
• Work with colleagues so that findings of good practice and/or lessons learnt are built into future service planning, delivery, and improvement.
• Work with colleagues to build capacity, quality and continuously improve performance standards within GambleAware and commissioned services. 
• Provide quality and performance information of the peer review process, contributing to interim evaluation reports and outputs where appropriate.

Homemaker Southwest provides independent advice and support to people who require help in finding, setting up or maintaining accommodation throughout Devon.

As a Money Advice Caseworker, you will be responsible for delivering high quality support services to clients across Devon, by telephone and face-to face, to sustain tenancies and prevent eviction wherever possible, with due regard to Homemaker’s policies and procedures.

You will have experience providing money advice to individuals at risk of homelessness and contemporary knowledge of debt solutions and welfare benefits.

Important qualities include strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and empower others, and the capacity to simplify complex information for clients. While most appointments will be conducted over the phone, some clients will require in-home visits, so the job demands flexibility to travel and work from different locations, necessitating the use of a personal vehicle

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Work with clients

• Ensure that clients receive a prompt and professional service.
• Provide advice and assistance through a range of channels: face-to-face, by phone, or by email. Seeing clients in office and at outreach locations and visiting clients in their own homes as required.
• Receive and respond to referrals from identified agencies in accordance with prevailing guidelines/funding.
• Provide support to clients including preparing accurate financial statements, budgeting advice, progression of debt options, advising on court proceedings for debt recovery and repossessions, and income maximisation to ensure take up of benefits and options such as backdating, overpayment and sanction challenges, appeals and representation if required.
• Keep the client at the centre of every case; check the client’s understanding and communication needs, agree on an action plan with clarity on who is doing what, encourage the client to be involved with actions as appropriate, keep the client informed of progress of case, and ensure cases are concluded in a positive way.
• Communicate and negotiate on clients’ behalf with third parties as appropriate.
• Give support in the sustainment of any tenancy, as appropriate.
• Ensure clients understand the terms of any tenancy or other legal obligation entered, or about to be entered into.
• Take a holistic approach to issues presented and signpost/refer to other services to help ensure that the advice and other support needs of the client are addressed appropriately.
• ·Ensure clients are encouraged to give feedback on the service they receive and take on any comments on ways we could improve the service.

Networking/Partnership

• Work closely with partner agencies
• Promote the services of the organisation to local housing, justice, social welfare, government agencies and other stakeholders.
• Contribute knowledge, expertise and ideas to appropriate local forums.

Administration

• Set up and maintain casework and other admin systems in accordance with organisation specifications.
• Maintain agreed monitoring and outcome information for commissioning agencies and internal management purposes.

• Keep up to date with legislation, case law, and good practice in debt and welfare benefits advice, attending appropriate training courses, using online resources and reading relevant publications.
