This role has the following aims:

· To respond to the increasing mental health difficulties that young people are experiencing;

· To improve the overall mental health and wellbeing of young people, and the wider school community;

· To increase knowledge of mental health and wellbeing and improve mental and emotional resilience, for young people and their communities;

· To increase the number of young people managing their mental health without being referred to specialist higher tier services.

This will be achieved through the school-based delivery of focused and school-wide interventions to young people, with the possibility of intervention delivery for the wider school community (including staff, parents and carers) depending on the needs identified by individual schools. Intervention delivery for the wider school community may take place outside schools.

Salary: £25,989 per annum + £750 Home Working Allowance per annum

Overall Duties of the Fostering Family Support & Engagement Worker will include:

• To support the development of a ‘TACT Carer Support Hub’ in the Nottinghamshire/ Derbyshire area that will bring foster carers together to support each other and provide more family support and breaks from caring. 
• To engage with and coordinate community-based activities for our foster carers, to raise TACT’s profile and visibility in the local community and support with the recruitment of new foster carers in the area.
• To offer practical and emotional support to TACT foster families, supporting them to strengthen and develop their skills and knowledge relevant to supporting children with complex needs, so that children can benefit from stable family life.

This role provides support to LGBTQ+ people who have experienced domestic abuse and are living in safe accommodation in the community. The goal is to help people prepare for independent living in their own tenancies. The Resettlement Worker will meet with each resident to assess their needs and agree goals which will help them achieve independence. The Resettlement Worker then puts together a support plan and meets regularly with service users to provide support, challenge and encouragement as they make their journey.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide a high quality, flexible and responsive support service to LGBTQ+ people who have experienced domestic abuse, supporting them towards independent living or suitable alternative housing through the provision of 1-1 support sessions and group work.

• To assess the individual needs of each person and provide a bespoke support plan.

• To ensure that effective service user participation mechanisms are in place.

• To ensure a high level of customer care and practice at all times.

• To develop links with relevant external agencies.

Main Duties of the Post

Support Sessions

• To give holistic support to LGBTQ+ people accessing our domestic abuse resettlement service and to provide proactive support to these service users who are sometimes hard to engage.

• To meet face to face with service users regularly to provide structured support, in relation to LGBTQ+ and Housing specific issues, such as gender identity pathways, mental health services, health issues, safeguarding, liaising with the professional network.

• To work with LGBTQ+ people to develop and review individual support plans and risk assessments.

• To liaise with other service providers ensuring service users receive the necessary support to sustain their accommodation, acquire relevant independent living skills, maintain or improve positive physical and mental health and access into meaningful occupation of their time.

Financial Support

• To assist service users in maximising and managing their income including universal credit, ESA, PIP and Housing Benefit.

Semi-independent Living Support

• To work with service users to enable them to develop the life and social skills necessary to sustain their accommodation and prepare them for independent living.

• To assess individual service user’s suitability for independent accommodation.

• To act quickly to manage incidents and to advise, support and assist service users unable to maintain supported accommodation into more appropriate housing options.

Resettlement

• To support service users in the completion of application forms necessary to support move-on housing, including the private rented sector.

• To ensure that all service users are provided with information about local services whilst in safe accommodation and during their move on.

• To ensure all service users are fully aware of their rights and responsibilities in their home.

• To work with housing providers, both public and private, to negotiate move on options.

Groupwork, Consultation and Participation

• To work as part of a team in developing user participation.

• To identify and develop appropriate and flexible processes for consulting with our service users, via social media platforms, newsletters, events and workshops.

• To devise innovative and creative ways of involving LGBTQ+ people in the running of the service with an independent approach.

• Supporting our service users to participate in group and peer support and to access online support mechanisms.

• Facilitating and promoting an LGBTQ+ group work programme.

Other Duties

• To establish and maintain accurate and complete records in all areas of work.

• To complete statistics for the collation of performance and funding information.

• To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation and regulations in relation to funders and other key areas.

• To participate in individual and clinical supervision meetings, annual appraisals and training.

An opportunity has arisen for a lead Support worker to work within our Sanctuary crisis intervention and prevention service, based in Fore Street in Enfield. We act as a short-term A&E and Emergency services alternative, providing support to individuals in the Enfield Borough aged 18+. 

This role is to provide leadership and support to the Sanctuary team on shift. The role will:

• Lead shifts during the week, providing support to team members via case management support, escalation, Health and Safety guidance
• Support the Sanctuary Manager to embed processes within the service, and ensure that these are carried out
• Work alongside the Manager and team to ensure that the service is operating to high quality standard.
• Provide support in times of emotional distress for clients. The support worker will provide a calm, supportive presence.

 The role will support clients through co-producing support plans with practical and therapeutic support offerings, as well as contributing to the development of a warm welcoming environment and ‘safe space’ to be.

This position would suit someone with a minimum of 2 years experience of working with people with mild, moderate and severe mental health issues. Ideally experience of supporting people experiencing suicidal ideation. Should have previous experience of supervising or managing staff.

The Sanctuary Service runs Monday - Friday, 5pm-10pm and at weekdays, 12-5pm. We would require the successful applicant to be able to work 4 shifts (21 hours per week) covering these days/times.

Reconnect Worker

This is an exciting opportunity to join Depaul for the new development of our Reconnect services in Adur & Worthing.

About the Role

The Reconnect Worker works closely with the Deputy Prevention Services Manager and the housing team at Adur and Worthing Council, you will be responsible for setting up and running our new Reconnect service.  Through offering a structured support package including family mediation, you will help young people to return, or stay in, the family home, and where not appropriate we will enable young people to rebuild support networks vital to successful independent living.

You will work collaboratively with all Depaul colleagues and services across the region, as well as with external agencies, to build and maintain a caseload of clients experiencing family difficulties and at risk of homelessness. You will work with clients facing a variety of situations, including young people who are experiencing a breakdown in their family relationships and are experiencing homelessness for the first time, as well as those who have left their homes and are temporarily staying with our volunteer Nightstop hosts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Work directly with young people aged 11-25, and their families, who are experiencing family difficulties and at risk of homelessness, providing guidance, personalised family support and one-to-one and joint party mediation if appropriate.
• Carry a caseload of 15 – 20 clients per FTE for whom you will be the named keyworker.
• Process referrals from relevant agencies to build and maintain a full caseload of clients.
• Work in partnership with young people and their families to complete risk assessments, needs assessments and change plans and outcome questionnaires to work with them towards measurable outcomes.
• Build strong working relationships with all Depaul colleagues and services across the region, as well as other relevant agencies and local authority teams, to promote the service, build effective referral routes and processes and provide holistic support to young people.
• Maintain clear, accurate and up-to-date records of all aspects of your work, in line with monitoring and evaluation processes and standard operational procedures.
• Work closely with statutory bodies and other agencies to support any relevant safeguarding procedures, advocating on behalf of young people and parents/carers when necessary.

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

• Significant experience working with young people and families in crisis; reflective, creative and solution-focused in your approach and committed to working in an assets-based way.
• To hold or complete a Level 4 Interpersonal Mediation Practitioner’s Certificate (IMPC). Training will be provided if the candidate doesn’t have the qualification, but training will have to be completed before the end of the probation period.
• Experience working independently and managing own caseload; self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks and carry out efficient organisation and administration.
• Experience carrying out risk and needs assessments and support planning for clients.
• Ability to develop strong, collaborative and productive relationships with colleagues and key external agencies, promoting the value of our work and its impact on families.
• High-level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain impartiality.

Wayfinder is our community led, relational homelessness programme. We're looking for a Engagement & Support Worker to join our small team and help support our participants and volunteers. 

The post requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will work as part of the Homeless Services Team to support clients across a number of our projects, with a primary focus on support our Wayfinder Participants.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with vulnerable, homeless people or disadvantaged groups. The post is a mix of practical involvement and administrative work and requires flexible working and adaptable thinking. Some evening and weekend working will be required as part of the role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To provide advice and support to clients to help them stay in their property or find and secure long-term accommodation.
• To work alongside other staff and volunteers to support clients in a way that acknowledges their identity, dignity and self-worth. Engaging with them to address the issues which have contributed to their current situation.
• To deliver activities, one to one support and group sessions to clients.  
• To accompany clients to meetings with other agencies or healthcare professionals.
• To carry out dynamic risk assessments during all client interactions.

Liverpool SHS is a mental health, 12 hour supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, tenancy support, peer support and supported housing. Windsor Road service offers 11 beds to people experiencing mental ill health.  We are a CQC registered residential care home. We offer individual one to one interventions and sessions such as social anxiety, anxiety, finance and budgeting, positive self-image, building self-esteem, support with diet and nutrition, healthy eating, sleep hygiene, DBT skills, building resilience, life skills, solution-based therapy, stress management etc. We offer a range of activities in our service planner including a daily coffee morning, a ‘here and now’ group,  community gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, social inclusion and family and friends’ days.  We support our residents with daily living skills where this is needed, such as support with shopping and cleaning tasks, this could include prompting or supporting alongside them. We also work closely with other agencies and our residents wider care teams, so good communication skills are required. And of course, all of this is recorded on our information management systems, so good record keeping and documentation is also essential. Our service consists of 8 24/7 Recovery Workers, a Service Manager and Registered Manager.
