Peer support workers use their own lived experience of mental health problems to support, inspire and accompany patients on their recovery journey. You might meet people for a coffee and a chat in an informal setting, go for walks, help people to join groups, accompany them on a bus or train for an appointment, or anything else that will help them meet their goals to improve wellbeing.

You will work in the primary care mental health team at Coastal Medical Partnership, a network of GP surgeries in New Milton, Barton-on-Sea and Lymington. The team works with patients with mild or moderate mental health difficulties. The team includes a GP, mental health practitioners and Solent Mind wellbeing assessors. You will consider together which patients under the care of the team would be suitable for peer support as part of their recovery.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week.

Well House is a crisis house supported accommodation service that supports individuals for between 14 and 28 days as an alternative to requiring hospital admission for their mental health needs. The service works closely in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team in order to meet individual needs, manage risk and support individuals to achieve positive outcomes.
All applicants must be legally eligible to work in the UK by the start of employment as Look Ahead are not able to offer sponsorship.

What you'll do:
- Building supportive, trusting relationships with people and creating a positive atmosphere
- Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities
- Conducting key work sessions as required, that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals
- Co-producing ongoing assessment and management of risks in collaboration with young people with an attitude of 'positive risk taking'
- Providing support with daily living activities, including practical assistance to support young people s to independent living e.g. budgeting, cooking, establishing a night time routine
- Supporting young people to maintain a healthy environment and where appropriate assisting them to clean their accommodation and maintain good personal hygiene
- Assisting in the recording and reporting of customer incidents
- Managing referrals, completing assessments and obtaining and maintaining all relevant paperwork

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Sutton Vulnerable Adults Service for someone to join the team as a Housing Support Worker. The service provides supported accommodation across Sutton for over 100 adults with multiple needs as part of the Sutton Vulnerable Adults Pathway. In the role of Housing Support you will:

• Work on the weekly rota Mon - Fri 9-5, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays.
• Oversee a case load of clients, creating a supportive environment and working in a person centred way to support clients identify personal aims and ambitions, and support them to make and carry out plans towards achieving them.
• Provide practical and personal support to clients in a way that is approachable, engaging, flexible and caring.
• Work with partner agencies, and client’s access health and treatment, employment and training opportunists to meet their individual needs, and work towards focusing on engagement within the community.

 About the role

This multifaceted role supports young people who are survivors of domestic abuse. The lead Children’s worker supervises one member of staff – the Children’s Worker, but works collaboratively with the Operations Team and Support Team to provide a cohesive service. No 2 days are ever the same as the needs of the young residents change so this role will suit an adaptable person who can adapt to the ever changing needs of the individuals you support.

The post holder will work with the colleagues in the children’s team  to ensure the needs of the children living at our refuges are met through a series of interventions including activities, after school clubs, play therapy and 121 support sessions. Children living within our refuges deserve the very best care, emotional and practical support that we are able to provide and this role is vital to that support.

The postholder may be creating strategic plans, delivering a creche, creating safe play spaces, organising trips and activities or providing homework support. The ages of the young people at refuge vary as does their needs so the postholder will be able to deliver in a fast paced environment where they can respond to the changing needs of the young people they support.

Being key worker for a small number of young people you will have the rewarding opportunity to support them both emotionally, physically and developmentally to navigate the path to overcoming the domestic abuse they have been subject to and make the journey to a survivor. It’s an immensely rewarding role.

DUTIES OF POST

1. GENERAL

• To plan and implement a programme of crèches, after school clubs and appointment-based childcare across the two refuges, with children of all ages on an individual or group basis.  Flexible working hours may be necessary to achieve this.
• To offer line management to the Children’s Worker  ensuring a programme of supervision and appraisals and the development of the individuals in the team.

• To empower and support children and their non-abusive parent in making their own decisions and taking control of their lives, including supporting the parent in their relationship with the children.
• To organise recreational activities including

o Creative play schemes and activities for different age groups

o Organising day trips and activities throughout school holidays

o Being responsible for maintaining play facilities in the refuge and garden

o Facilitating a young mum's group as and when required

o Assisting with homework as and when required

o Running a mother and toddler group as and when required

o To signpost and support attendance of Children’s Centres services

o Running the after-school club and breakfast club

• To refer to and liaise with other agencies as required, such as Social Services, Home Start and other voluntary agencies. To support parents to engage with these agencies to help meet their needs.
• To facilitate children’s individual learning needs.
• To implement a programme of 1-2-1 parenting with referred parents, across the two refuges. This will include theory and discussion as well as practical support such as shopping, food planning, daily routines etc.  This may help support other agency requirements.
• Administrate the present scheme within refuges, ensuring all children receive gifts for Christmas and birthdays.
• To consult with children in planning activities and events and in the general running of the services.
• Helping to arrange parties for the women and children at various festival times, where possible and according to financial limitations.
• To ensure that each child is given a welcome pack when the first move into the refuge. This must include an age-appropriate Buddy Bag.
• To find all children entering the refuge a place at local schools or nurseries and support parents to engage with education.
• To maintain Ofsted registration including compliance with regulations, ensuring that the facility meets quality standards and completing self-assessments and inspections.
• To maintain the children’s room, health and safety, toys and cleaning.

1.  ADMINISTRATIVE

• To complete inductions with all children entering the refuges and ensure all paperwork is completed and signed.  To add all children onto the case management system.
• To monitor, update and make accessible, information about local agencies and community resources, relating to children.
• To keep appropriate records of children and write up daily notes as is necessary and appropriate to the case management system.  To produce an Individual Support Plan for each child. 
• To complete any reports required by any funding bodies, or statutory agencies in relation to the post.
• Order all the materials for welcome packs, art and crafts and educational needs.
• Participate in regular staff meetings.  Ensure that decisions taken up regarding children’s work are followed up as appropriate.
• Ensure all relevant Health and Safety regulations are complied with.
• Attend appropriate training.
• Help to develop and support Equal Opportunities practices within the refuge, taking part in specific training if necessary
• To monitor and update all policies and procedures in line with Ofsted recommendations.
• To complete risk assessment on all aspects of the childcare provision and trips out.
• To keep all records relating to Under 5’s activities in line with early years and to share this with moms on a regular basis.

1. AWARENESS RAISING

• To support the team in delivering awareness raising sessions and school packs in local schools and agencies.
• To develop links with community resources that will enhance the work undertaken in the refuge with the children.
• To participate in at least 3 fundraising and networking events per year.
• To help lead on the Christmas Present Donations programme.

1. SAFEGUARDING

• To attend core groups and case conferences when required.
• To ensure that the Child Protection Policy is followed and to liaise regularly with the Refuge Manager and Senior Children’s Co Ordinator with updates or concerns.

• Other duties as are required from time to time in the interests of the effective provision of childcare for the organisation.

Person Specification

Essential

NVQ or diploma in Childcare level 4 or 4 or above

Experience of working directly with Children and delivering services to children

Experience of child safeguarding and safety  procedures

An understanding or experience of working with parents

Experience of delivery of after extra-curricular activities and outings and understanding how to plan for and deliver those activities

Demonstrable excellent customer service  delivery for all stakeholders, clients and partners.

Experience of working in an environment with confidential data

Strong commitment to team members, the work team and the wider organisation’s values and ethos.

An understanding that in small charities we often “roll up our sleeves” and support other areas to reach a team objective.

An understanding of and a commitment to equal opportunities in employment and in-service delivery.

We are looking for part-time Crisis Recovery Workers to join our team!

Working one-to-one (either face-to-face, over the telephone, or on video call) you will support individuals experiencing mental health distress by:

• Establishing connection and rapport in a non-intrusive, non-judgmental and compassionate manner
• Supporting individuals through guided self-help strategies including grounding, breathing techniques.
• Supporting individuals to relay their immediate needs and concerns and offering emotional and practical support and information to address these.
• Provide individuals with information on and how to connect with social support networks available to them in their own community.
• Supporting individuals to make a safety plan

Crisis Recovery Worker criteria:

• You must be able to show empathy and compassion with a non-judgemental approach
• You should be passionate about promoting positive mental health and have excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
• You should be able to manage professional boundaries

Key Job Responsibilities

• Provide individual support and build trusting relationships with our trainees, proactively arranging face to face and online support sessions, attending appointments with them and tracking their progression.
• Offer person-centred holistic support to trainees to become independent, using our ‘Independence Tracker’ to assess their needs and set targets on a regular basis.
• Nurture women’s engagement with Luminary’s vocational training programme, liaising with the training team to help 80% of graduates to complete a minimum of 80% of their vocational training. 
• Support women to complete the mentoring programme by proactively liaising with the Partnerships & Evaluation manager. 
• Support trainees to apply for employment opportunities and prepare for interviews to achieve positive work outcomes. 
• Support trainees during the apprenticeship process in Luminary cafes or bakeries, and support them with attending work experience days both at Luminary and at other external partners. 
• Liaise effectively with other agencies involved in the care of trainees to ensure their needs are sufficiently met. This includes attending meetings with external agencies and advocating on behalf or alongside women.
• Respond quickly to safeguarding concerns, reporting appropriately to the Luminary Safeguarding Officer and the local council as necessary, supporting the individual appropriately through the process.
• Keep detailed records of all case-working according to best practice and aid in safeguarding,  monitoring and evaluation. 
• Build relationships with local services relevant for signposting service users to, connecting women with opportunities in line with their support plan (eg specialist services, work experience, additional courses).
• Provide support to women in the Luminary training classroom during Phase 2 employment workshops to get the most out of the learning environment
• Deliver or facilitate group sessions including bi-weekly wellbeing workshops & support organising alumni events such as Christmas Party, Independence Party and Graduation. 
• Champion Luminary’s holistic understanding of wellbeing, which recognises the spiritual needs of those recovering from trauma. Signpost any women wishing to access chaplaincy-style support to Luminary Chaplains. 
• Assist the Senior Leadership Team in evaluating the services Luminary offers to report to funders, assist with completing new funding applications and internal monitoring.
• Contribute your experience of best practice to shape the way Luminary operates effectively

We are looking for an exceptional woman to provide senior leadership to two specialist residential rehabs. The National Specialist Family Service a long-standing innovative family residential service that provides for parents and children, and Ophelia House is a trauma responsive female-only treatment service.

You will be understanding and passionate about the gender-specific treatment needs of women, have knowledge of the practical, emotional, social and economic issues facing them, have experience of and a desire to work in trauma responsive settings.

You will also have experience of shaping innovative service and working with families as part of a whole-family approach.  You will share our passion for improving access to support/treatment for families (single parents (mums and/or dads) with their child/ren, couples with children, and pregnant women). 

We are seeking to develop relationships across the women and family support sector so that we can learn from others and bring best practice and emerging practice (nationally and internationally) into our service delivery. You will have the opportunity to influence Phoenix's strategy and share learning across the organisation and beyond, playing a key role in supporting the women and families national treatment agenda.

This role includes overseeing a women’s-only residential service specialising in providing safe therapeutic environments for those who have experienced multiple disadvantage and those who have experienced past trauma. Therefore there is an Operational Requirement for this role to be fulfilled by a female (determined compliant under ACAS guidelines for recruiting applicants with a protected characteristic to do a certain job).[1]

The Role

This role is a senior operational manager post and will report to the Deputy Director of Operations (TC Specialist). The role has responsibility for managing a portfolio of two specialist residential services:

• Ophelia House, Oxford (Trauma-responsive, female only Therapeutic Community)
• National Specialist Family Service, Sheffield

You will manage CQC Registered Managers and services, along with providing leadership to staff teams across your portfolio of services (portfolio may change over time). These two residential services each provide unique environments and specialism, rooted in the Therapeutic Community approach.

You will be required to attend both of the services depending on need and workplan (located in Oxford & Sheffield respectively), as well as occasional travel elsewhere across England and Scotland.

You will be a member of the Phoenix Senior Management Team (SMT) and influence and shape the future of the organisation. There is the option for hybrid working and flexible/condensed hours would be considered.

About Phoenix

Phoenix Futures has been providing rehabilitation services for over 50 years. In support of the current Drug Strategy in England (From Harm to Hope) and the investment in residential services in Scotland, Phoenix are committed to rebuilding capacity across both countries in the residential rehab sector. In 2022/23 we launched two new residential services (New Oakwood Lodge which is an Enhanced Therapeutic Community in Derby, and Harper House, a National Specialist Family Service in North Ayrshire). In 2023/24 we opened Ophelia House, and 24/25 sees continuing development in NE Scotland.

This role can be based at any one of our centres; Harcombe House in Chudleigh, Devon, Jubilee House in Penrith, Cumbria or Marine Court in Littlehampton, East Sussex. 

About the role
As a Triage and Support Officer within this team, you will be responsible for triaging incoming website or email enquiries, gathering key information, and assessing a service user for their eligibility and identify any immediate risks. 

Through our triage process, you will assess cases based on key criteria to ensure those who have urgent needs are prioritised, and all cases are supported effectively alongside our Assessment Practitioners. You will offer initial advice, information and signposting, and make referrals where appropriate, to support service users to access the appropriate support available at Fire Fighters Charity.

This role requires clear and accurate documentation and communication skills to be used throughout the triage process. You will be working collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure a seamless transition into the relevant services. 

This role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check. 

About you
Previous experience of working on a health and wellbeing helpline or support line, is essential. You will need experience of dealing directly with services users, providing them with advice, support and information. 

You will also need to be familiar with triage processes or similar methodologies for assessing urgency and complexity of cases. 

You will take a compassionate approach to supporting service users, demonstrating empathy and respect in all interactions, and you will need the ability to work independently and maintain accurate and confidential records.

We are SIFA Fireside, the support service for any adult in Birmingham that faces homelessness. For 40 years we have supported Birmingham’s most vulnerable people through Homelessness Intervention, Prevention and Recovery services.

The Adult Lead Worker service is based at our main hub in Digbeth but provides city-wide support to adults experiencing multiple disadvantages. This service provides flexible, strengths-based advice and support to people aged 18 years plus who experience two or more of substance use, poor mental health, history of repeat homelessness and offending history. About the service
Trafalgar House is a mental health, supported housing and community-based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.

This is an exciting job opportunity to join a dynamic and committed team in a front-line role to support and deliver the activities and services of elop’s LGBTQ+ Children & Young People’s Service.This role offers great opportunity to work innovatively and responsively to support the genuine needs of LGBTQ+ young people.

 In this role you will have opportunity to design and deliver innovative youth group support programmes (12-15, 15-18 & 18-25 year olds) & other activities; provide LGBTQ+ affirmative support, guidance and mentoring on a one-to-one basis; work with our wider family work programme, support families with LGBTQ+ children and deliver work in schools to students & teaching staff.  You will support the delivery of the youth reference group of young LGBTQ+ people (to support service evaluation and development) and support volunteer mentors.

You will be responsible for the direct delivery of elop’s LGBTQ+ Young Peoples Service, including promotion, & administration, along with the induction, support & supervision of volunteers and interns.  You will work alongside the wider staff team to support elop’s work with LGBTQ+ young people and contribute to sustainable service development.

The delivery of group support and activities will take place in person, but some work will initially be remote before returning to full time in person working.

Full Time: 37 hours per week

There will be two regular evening/ week and occasional weekend working required.

You must be available to work Tuesday and Thursday evenings & once a month on a Sunday afternoon.  There will be occasional other evenings / weekend working required.
