About us

Who we are

Our Vision

To be a centre of excellence for rehabilitating men from crime and addiction through the transformation of their lives to become fulfilled, valuable members of the community.

Our Mission

At Nehemiah we believe that anyone can change their life, and this underpins all our work.  Our holistic, peer-group approach to recovery creates a safe place where men can go through the painful process of reviewing their lives and establishing a new foundation on which to build their future.  We support each man to reach his potential, and we celebrate their success.

Our culture and values

Our Values

At Nehemiah we focus so much of what we do on our core values. They inform what we do and how we act towards one another, ensuring that everyone at Nehemiah has the opportunity and confidence to thrive. These values relate not just to all our employees, but extend out to everyone who interacts with our service, be they a volunteer, one of our residents, or a visitor.

Belief

Belief is our driving force- we believe in each person’s unique potential, in second chances, and in the power of change through positive reinforcement and experiences

Respect

Respect underlines our commitment to valuing each other’s choices, embracing differences, and fostering a culture of mutual acceptance and equality

Honesty

We prioritise honesty as the foundation for strong relationships -  nurturing an environment of truthfulness, transparency and trust

Compassion

Compassion is central to our approach, emphasising empathy, understanding and patience, and actively acknowledging challenging circumstances

Empowerment

Empowerment is our guiding principle, focusing on giving individuals the tools to resolve their own issues, explore options, and recognise their self-worth.
