Person Specification:

Essential:

• Proven experience in HR management, preferably in the charity sector or similar non-profit organisation (minimum two years of managerial experience.)
• Current knowledge of Employment Law and predicted trends.
• Level 5 CIPD or equivalent HR related qualification/HR experience. 
• Solid organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude towards all stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with a solution-orientated approach.
• Demonstrable ability to uphold the key principles of HR including confidentiality, fairness, integrity, respect.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Possesses a valid UK driving license.

Desirable:

• Level 7 CIPD or equivalent.
• Background in coaching and mentoring.
• Familiarity with farming practices.

This role sits within the Education team who are responsible for delivering BSR’s educational activity. Working alongside the Head of Education, the Events and Education Manager and the Digital Events Manager, you will assist in the planning and delivery of a range of education courses, webinars, bursary schemes and eLearning activities.  You will work with the team to support the work of our Education Committee, Trainee Committee and Digital Learning Board. 

This is an exciting role for someone looking to get more hands-on experience in planning and executing a variety of educational events and activities and liaising with multiple stakeholders. Main responsibilities

• Manage course and webinar registration processes, including delegate bookings, communications, data management and reporting, and producing delegate materials.  
• Manage course logistics including venue sourcing and management, accommodation and travel, catering and AV.
• Manage the rheumatology training webinar series, including topic development, speaker management and live delivery.
• Manage the creation of monthly eLearning packages including webinars, podcasts and eLearning cases.
• Manage the education bursary programme, including promotion, application management and financial reconciliation.
• Manage CPD accreditation of educational activities. 
• Manage events inbox and education team enquiries.
• Input into our education budgets by monitoring progress against income and expenditure for projects owned. 
• Produce content for webpages and social media platforms to drive interest and engagement and keep delegates informed.  
• Attend committee meetings, provide updates if needed and assist with the minute-taking, agenda preparation and follow-up on actions as necessary.

Job purpose

The Safe Haven Deputy Manager’s role is to be part of the Safe Haven management team and jointly ensure effective delivery of high-quality service for adults experiencing mental health crisis in Oxfordshire. The postholder will be required to independently lead a safe and effective shift and offer crisis mental health support for people presenting in mental health crisis including assessing risks, facilitating re-focusing activities, and conducting one-to-one support sessions on the phone and face to face focusing on person-centred listening, grounding, safety planning and exploring coping strategies. The Deputy Manager will lead on shift handovers and provide support to staff on day-to-day activities as well as provide one-to-one supervision for their direct reports.

The team takes part in handovers, one to one supervision and complex case discussions to aid their ability to reflect, learn and support Safe Haven service users within the remit of the service.

We are looking for a Business Support Assistant to join our team in Wales. This is a 12-month fixed term appointment to cover maternity leave. It is a part-time post (equivalent to 3 days per week).

In this role, you will support the efficient and effective delivery of grant-making activity in Wales, ensuring an excellent service for all our customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.

As first point of contact, you will play a key role in ensuring that all telephone and email enquiries are dealt with in a friendly, professional, and timely manner, responding with relevant information, and where necessary, connecting the enquirer to a colleague for further advice.

With a keen eye for detail, you will support the efficient delivery of the funding lifecycle by ensuring that new requests for funding are accurately processed and allocated to colleagues. You will also undertake administrative activities to ensure that customers and stakeholders received timely information.

Working in collaboration with colleagues, you will deliver a range of service activities including coordinating meetings and helping organise events, fulfilling travel booking and accommodation requests.

About the role:

Key responsibilities:

• Network across the borough of Wandsworth and South West London by visiting organisations and speaking to people with lived experience of mental distress and / or using mental health services and mental health professionals.

• To have a particular focus on reaching people we are keen to see continuing to use Sound Minds including young people, people from BAME communities, and LGBTQ+ people.

• To form ongoing working relationships with people who refer members to Sound Minds such as care coordinators, social prescribers, community mental health teams, local psychiatric hospitals, and housing support workers. 

• To lead the referral team at Sound Minds to ensure the referral pipeline operates smoothly and fits the needs of prospective members.

• To lead on the pastoral care of our individual members. Working with people to help resolve any ongoing problems around areas such as housing, finance, benefits, access to mental health services, having sufficient food to eat and referring and signposting them on to other services.

• Referring members on to other services and ensuring that the offers of Sound Minds are joined up.

• Leading group sessions to help individuals with their wellbeing and recovery journeys.

To enable your professional wellbeing and development, you will have regular supervision, be supported by a Senior Manager as well as your peers, and have access to external training and mentoring chosen by you.  

The post-holder will have experience of overseeing, developing and evaluating services for Carers, or perhaps mental health, wellbeing, or similarly targeted information, advice or support services or projects. You must demonstrate experience working in partnership with health, social care and other voluntary sector organisations and have a good understanding of, and be flexible to, the needs of Carers as well as the organisation.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced mental health professional or therpaist to join our small team in Newcastle to support men in suicidal crisis. Our Newcastle centre opened in November and we need to recruit to expand our small of therpaists team to meet the growing needs of our service.

We will work with you and train you to develop your therapeutic skills to offer our semi-structured psychologically informed intervention. You will support the centre user and their supporter(s) to recover from the suicidal crisis and maintain their safety. 

The Charity

James’ Place exists to stop men dying by suicide. We opened our first centre in 2018 in Liverpool, the first of its kind in the UK, in 2022 we launched our second centre in London, and this year we opened our third centre in Newcastle. To date, we have supported over 2,300 men. James’ Place is a therapy centre for men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis, and it was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. It offers men a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.

Essential Qualifications

 A Profession such as Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker registered with NMC, HPC, BASW.
