We are looking for a dedicated and conscientious individual with experience of giving advice to people in vulnerable circumstances and who can relate to others in a sympathetic and understanding way. Experience of giving energy related advice is not essential as you will be provided with extensive training as well as mentoring support from an experienced colleague.

Pay and conditions

• The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week).
• The salary for the role will be £27,121 rising to £29,803 after six months.
• You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Engage with disadvantaged households who need help with energy issues.
• Improve the understanding and confidence of households in fuel poverty to better manage their energy use.
• Reduce the financial hardship and stress of households in fuel poverty by supporting their access to lower tariffs (where possible), grants for heating and insulation improvements and income maximisation.
•  Improve the wellbeing and safeguarding of households in fuel poverty whose health conditions are exacerbated by living in a cold home.
• Identify energy improvements that can be made to the home and refer to installers who can fit them.
• Refer households onto other organisations in the area as appropriate for further support.
• Advocate on behalf of householders when communicating with energy suppliers, including making formal complaints on behalf of clients where necessary.
• Manage several complex casework cases over a period of time with minimal support.
• Maintain appropriate client confidentiality at all times in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Carry out outreach activities and/or explore networking opportunities if demand for the service is too low.

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.

Job Description:

Job Purpose: Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending.

1. Client Care: provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and emotional and practical support to women in contact with, or at risk of being in contact with the criminal justice system

The European Network on Statelessness (ENS) is a civil society alliance of over 180 members in 40 countries, committed to breaking the cycle of statelessness in Europe and realising everyone’s right to a nationality. We are dedicated to raising awareness about statelessness, supporting legal and policy development, and building civil society’s capacity to act. At the heart of our work lies the understanding that stateless people and their communities should be leaders of change.

We are looking for someone with a solid track record in developing and promoting engaging content to affect change on hard-to-win issues. The candidate should also have practical knowledge of online communications tools - including Mailchimp or similar email platforms, website Content Management Systems, CRM, and social media management platforms.

Working under the supervision of the Head of Communications, Operations & Development, the postholder will work closely with key partners, members, and other ENS staff to increase the impact of our advocacy work by developing engaging content. They will also support our efforts to put people and communities affected by statelessness at the centre of our communications work.

The post’s day-to-day responsibilities will among other things involve coordinating a busy online website and email publishing schedule, managing social media, and publication design and publishing.

About the role 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Shetland. This is a part time role for 21 hours per week, applicants who do not hold the Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy will start on £22,500 per annum pro-rata.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance and Governance, the Quality, Compliance and Risk Manager will be responsible for the effective implementation and monitoring of controls and promotion of best practice in relation to regulation and risk within Home-Start UK.

You will champion and promote the need for effective regulatory frameworks, continuous improvement and risk-based decision making. Working across all Home-Start UK departments you will carry out audits, liaise with colleagues to review and collate evidence and report on adherence to relevant policy, regulation and risk mitigation.

The skills you will bring are; experience of ISO9001, your ability to uphold standard of practice, and understanding of risk management in a non-profit organisation. Accuracy of your data input is an essential requirement for the role, as is your ability to communicate in a friendly manor, applying confidentiality as needed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring a Lead Psychologist to lead, shape, and enhance psychological practices across the organisation. You will work closely with various teams across the organisation to foster the development and support of psychological interventions. 

The Social Interest Group is dedicated to providing comprehensive support and care to individuals of all ages facing a diverse array of psychological challenges in both mental and physical health realms. This encompasses adults within acute and forensic mental health community based services and residential community based accommodation, as well as people residing in their own homes, in the community and prisons. The spectrum of conditions and illnesses includes people with trauma, anxiety, depression, psychosis, personality disorders, eating disorders, addictions, learning disabilities, autism, Korsakoff syndrome, alcohol related brain damage, and challenges related to social isolation, family dynamics, and relationships. 

In this role, you will manage a team of psychologists, a clinical lead, mental health nurses, substance misuse teams, and therapeutic leads, as well as providing overall leadership, expertise, and direction to the organisation to bridge gaps in knowledge, experience, and skills!

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 - 5. You will be based in Central Office (Islington) but will regularly be based within any of our services across London, Brighton, Kent, Havering, Bedford, Luton, Nottingham, and Liverpool. Hybrid working is an option outside these service visits.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for a self-starter, who can proactively encourage and take leadership of all aspects of psychology for the organisation! You will hold an accreditation with HCPC and BPS (and/or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate your experience in developing clinical/forensic/counselling practices!

What we are looking for:

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology, Counselling or Forensic Psychology from an accredited institution
• Full registration with BPS and as a Psychologist with the relevant regulatory body (e.g. HCPC)
• Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of assistant and trainee psychologists and/or other psychological therapy staff

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership to employees throughout the employee life cycle
• Support the development and creation of IIRMS (Intensive Integrated Risk Management Services).
• Incorporate reflective practice and supervision into the service delivery processes.
• Provide expertise in clinical risk assessment and management, crisis intervention, and specialist communication of psychological knowledge internally and externally.
• Develop and deliver small, targeted trauma therapy provisions for individuals who cannot access other community services, ensuring specialised support which is tailored to their needs.
• Lead on clinical excellence, setting policy, preparing for CQC inspections, establishing peer reviews, and pursuing accreditation to uphold standards of quality and safety.
