The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation has a single, clear vision: a world free of Motor Neuron Disease (MND). In the relentless pursuit of this goal, we are committed to funding research projects to accelerate the development of meaningful treatments, focusing on the projects that are most likely to impact people with MND positively.
The Director of Research is a key position in the organisation that leads our research activities, managing a small team as we invest in a prioritised and focused research portfolio. Working alongside the CEO and senior leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing a research strategy that fits seamlessly with the Foundation’s vision, ensuring we have the expertise and resources required to support our programme and initiatives.
As someone with experience working in a scientific research role, you will have the ability to interpret, analyse and utilise research findings and developments, with a deep understanding of the drug discovery and development landscape. You will be someone who constantly seeks out new research approaches, methodologies and funding models, ensuring that the Foundation remains at the forefront with its innovative practices. Knowledge of the research grants system is essential; we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running. You will care about the impact of our work, developing an excellent understanding of the MND field and placing those living with MND at the heart of every decision you make, while ensuring all funded projects continue to meet our goals and financial requirements.
Strong communication skills are central to this role. The successful candidate will be comfortable demonstrating our expertise and position in the MND community and communicating developments, insights and critical milestones both internally and externally. Influencing and relationship building will come naturally to you, and you’ll be the kind of person who can work with diverse personalities from a wide variety of professional backgrounds. Citizens Advice Waltham Forest has an exciting opportunity on their successful Debt Free Advice Team for an experienced Debt Advice Caseworker. We have been part of the wider Debt Free Advice partnership for over a decade and have success in delivering high quality debt advice to local residents who are facing financial difficulties. The demand for the service in light of the cost of living crisis has increased substantially over recent years and we are looking to expand our team.
We are seeking an experienced debt advice caseworker who has a proven track record in helping and assisting clients facing financial difficulties and providing creative solutions to help alleviate their challenges in a sensitive and supportive role. They will have an awareness of having successfully provided debt advice in a regulated environment.
The successful candidate would be expected to work a hybrid model of delivery - in an office environment, outreach sessions as well as home based. They would be expected to provide advice via omni-channels such as face to face, telephone and email advice.
Main responsibilities:
To provide over-indebted Londoners with free, face-to-face/telephone advice that is accurate, effective and tailored to individuals’ circumstances. This includes:
● Provide case work covering the full range of debt - Interviewing those that access our service using sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow them to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.
● Researching and exploring options and implications so that those accessing our service can make informed decisions.
● Ensuring income maximisation through the appropriate take up of income, including those relating to water charges, benefits, tax and housing.
● Providing in-depth quality advice and on-going casework, including acting for the client where necessary using appropriate communication skills and channels.
● Maintaining detailed case records, ensuring that all work meets all auditing and quality standards and the requirements of the funder.

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Job Description:
Job Purpose: Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Client Care: provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and emotional and practical support to women in contact with, or at risk of being in contact with the criminal justice system
- Monitoring and Evaluation: accurately document all client interaction on Women in Prison’s case management database, working in line with Women in Prison’s case management policy at all times
- Communication: develop and utilise a variety of strategies to communicate effectively with women using our services, colleagues, external organisations, stakeholders and the general public

Role Overview
We are looking for a talented fundraiser to join our small and supportive team. The Fundraising Officer (Trusts & Foundations & Events) is a new role to our charity and will play a key part in supporting our future plans.
UP attracts significant support from individuals, and there is huge potential to grow income from Trusts and Foundations with this increased capacity in the fundraising team.

We are recruiting a Legal Assistant to provide administrative and legal support to PILC’s Gypsy and Traveller Legal Advice project which aims to defend and promote the rights of gypsies and travellers to pursue a nomadic way of life. You will assist our Supervising Solicitor, an expert in gypsy and traveller law, who has represented this underprivileged community over the last 15 years. We have created this new part-time position to provide consistent and professional HR support to the organisation, bringing together various roles currently undertaken by a few different staff members.
The role will suit someone who can work under their own initiative (after training in our charity practices), experienced in overseeing the employee journey from recruitment and retention to departure. You will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries, and ensure that the charity is compliant with all relevant legislation. As a small charity (c. 35 staff including part-time and casual workers), the role will require balancing practical and administrative tasks with management responsibilities.
