Thomson Reuters Foundation is looking for a Legal Manager, Legal Service for Independent Media to join our TrustLaw team.
As Legal Manager, Legal Service for Independent Media, you will provide dedicated project leadership to continue to pilot the operationalization and implementation of a legal offering to support journalists and independent newsrooms, whose safety and independence are under threat.
You will report to TrustLaw’s Head of Special Projects, while working closely with the TrustLaw and the Media Freedom teams. You will manage one Legal Officer, Media Freedom.
This is a fixed-term 12-month contract based in London.
About the Role:
As our Legal Manager, Legal Service for Independent Media, you will:

Map evolving trends and legal threats for journalists, media freedom NGOs and independent media outlets and identify the most pressing legal gaps and needs

Build excellent relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, including expanding our network of expert NGOs and legal teams working in the media, journalism and media freedom space

About You
To be our Legal Manager, Legal Service for Independent Media, you will likely have:

An LLB, with preference for a qualified lawyer or an advanced law degree

At least five years’ experience working in the legal field, with prior experience in media law or related human rights matters, either in a law firm, media house or non-profit organisation

Strong understanding of international standards on press freedom and/or the media law/policy landscape. Understanding of the legal needs of journalists and media outlets in the global south or Central/Eastern Europe/FSU an advantage

About the Role
There are 1.4 million primary-aged children growing up in poverty in the UK, and we are currently only working with a fraction of them. We have grown rapidly over the last few years and are now looking to grow our Fundraising team to the next level.
The Fundraising and Communications Officer will work as part of the Fundraising team to deliver Learning with Parents’ fundraising strategy. Their primary focus will be strengthening our existing funding pipeline through prospects research and managing the donor database. They will also be responsible for drafting compelling applications and reports for new and existing donors. They will develop and adapt our fundraising resources and provide wider support to the team.
The Fundraising and Communications Officer will also be responsible for managing Learning with Parents external communications, including creating and posting engaging blogs and social media posts, drafting the Annual Impact Report and managing the organisation’s brand guidelines.
Lastly, the Fundraising and Communications Officer will provide logistical support for the Parental Engagement Forum.

Every year, thousands of students come together to build communities around activities and issues that are meaningful to them. Maintaining a healthy and supportive relationship with family while in prison is crucial to reducing reoffending rates and improving rehabilitation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Executive Support:
- Manage the Founder’s inbox, draft and send emails on their behalf, and schedule appointments.
- Arrange and coordinate meetings for the Founder with internal and external parties.
Financial Management:
- Oversee online accountancy and manage payments through the online banking platform.
- Create cashflows and budgets to forecast income and expenditure, ensuring financial stability.
- Manage the relationship with the part-time accountant/bookkeeper, overseeing the production of annual accounts and reports.
- Handle organisational memberships and subscriptions (e.g., Information Commissioner’s Office, and Living Wage Foundation).
Operations Management:

As CTA's Business Development Manager, your role involves increasing the uptake of MiDAS training and growing CTA membership. To do this you will need to have/develop an in-depth knowledge of the sector, be able to conduct your own research, develop relationships with our key stakeholders, and track performance metrics.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible individual to join St Paul’s School as our Senior Engagement and Events Manager.
The post holder will manage the delivery of events and engagement activities for the whole of the St Paul’s community—pupils, Old Paulines (alumni), parents of current and/or former pupils, and staff. Programme Manager
The Church Urban Fund is seeking a pro-active and professional Programme Manager, for a part time (21-28 hours a week), 6 month fixed term contract to cover parental leave.
The Wayfinder programme, is a Community-led homelessness prevention programme launched in 2022. It is specifically designed to help people in insecure housing or at risk of homelessness to move forward in life. The programme, run through community partners in Manchester, Leicester and Nottingham, aims to support clients would benefit from support from volunteer community mentors and/or case workers to overcome social isolation and related barriers to tenancy sustainment. It connects people with activities and opportunities in their community and provides practical support through the ups and downs of recovery from homelessness or insecure housing.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for the management, and development of the programme. This includes maintaining strong partnerships with delivery partners, funders, referral agencies, external evaluators, internal stakeholders, and support functions to maximise the positive impact of our work. They will develop and maintaining the educational content and supporting tools and support regional coordinators (managed by and embedded with our regional partners) to ensure the programme maintains its high standards while increasing its reach.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in poverty alleviation, preferably within the homelessness sector, or experience in a volunteer management role within a multi-agency environment and developing partnerships.
This home-based role offers flexibility but will require occasional travel to key locations including London, Nottingham, Manchester, and Leicester.
