About the Role
Reporting to our Marketing Manager this role plays an important part in supporting SIB’s strategy and focus.
We are looking for someone who:
• Can create compelling communications showcasing our programmes and funds
• Can provide expertise and oversight in the shaping and embedding of SIB’s external messaging
• Can produce accessible and well-written marketing materials for our programmes and funds
• Can update website communications and manage newsletters
• Can organise external events and coordinate team member attendance
• Can support formal and informal engagement with SIB’s customers and the internal team
• Is an enthusiastic self-starter with a commitment to open and transparent communication with a wide range of stakeholders
Key responsibilities
Marketing
1 Working with Marketing Manager to implement the Marketing Strategy, including contributing to campaigns, messages and stakeholder relations.
2. Supporting the implementation of marketing plans for specific funds, working with our delivery partners and sub-contractors, as appropriate, and helping with programme and fund roundtables and events.
3. Supporting the Director of Investments and the Marketing Manager in delivering new business strategies by providing market analysis and data, publicity plans, key messages, event planning, set up and coordination as necessary.
4. Supporting the Marketing Manager with marketing contacts in partner, investee and other stakeholder organisations, maintaining contacts and ensuring that SIB funds and programmes are represented across sector events and in peer publications.
5. Liaise with the Business Development Manager to contribute effectively to new tenders, including supplying accurate marketing and communications data and deliverable activities.
Communications
6. Working with the CEO, Deputy CEO and Marketing Manager to implement the Marketing Strategy, including developing and managing campaigns, messages and stakeholder relations.
7. Supporting the development of content and publications as required including newsletters, brochures and reports, case studies, blogs, articles, website content, e-newsletter content.
8. Working with the Marketing Manager and Policy and Communications Manager to liaise with external networks – national, third sector and key regional press contacts, other communications managers – to increase the reach of SIB’s work and to disseminate it widely.
9. To adopt our continuous improvement and learning ethos.
10. To support and embed equality, diversity and inclusion into day-to-day behaviours and activities within your role as well as contributing more widely across SIB’s commitment to E, D & I.
11. To support and contribute to the implementation and delivery of SIB’s strategy.
12. In agreement with manager to undertake other tasks and work on cross team projects that support the objectives of SIB as required.
13. To work within the organisation's values, principles, and processes to achieve operational excellence.
Core competencies
- Experience of creating impactful marketing materials and campaigns utilising multiple channels and platforms.
- Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience of event set up and coordination including booking venues, managing guest lists and arranging speakers.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write accurate, engaging and crisp copy for a range of different channels.
- Technical knowledge of website management and working with a range of different CMS such as Drupal and Wordpress.
- Good organisational, planning, and project management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite apps, including Acrobat Pro DC, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effect

The Marketing and Communications Director serves as part of the Senior Leadership Team of the Innovation, Income & Engagement Directorate and is responsible for the smooth running of the Marketing and Communications department and working collaboratively across the Directorate to help plan and deliver impactful campaigns.
The successful candidate will be working to help us reach more people with our services and grow the audience of people who want to support the charity with their time, money, voice, and donations. We have big ambitions to become the 'end of life' charity and more than double the number of people we help today.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading, inspiring and developing the Marketing and Communications teams to achieve a step change in our performance and exceed ambitious reach, engagement and share of voice targets.
- Fostering a culture of innovation and organisational collaboration, to drive our Marketing & Communications strategy, creating brand and PR campaigns that engage our target audiences and elevate our cause.
- Developing a long-term plan, including investment and measurement of returns, to deliver integrated and relevant content to build spontaneous awareness and brand buzz, optimising integration with fundraising.
- Working with the Marketing and Communications Heads of Department and media contacts to develop and implement PR and media programmes that will build our share of voice, grow our reputation in end-of-life care and help reposition Marie Curie as the 'end of life' charity
- Managing media queries, sometimes in high-pressure situations, maintaining the Marie Curie position with statements and Q&As and ensuring appropriate spokespeople are media trained at all times.
- Representing the Charity at the highest levels, engaging credibly, dynamically and charismatically with key stakeholders.
Key Criteria:
- Established experience working in a strategic leadership role within both marketing and PR, managing multiple and complex functions.
- Demonstrable experience of leading and shaping strategies to increase audience reach and relevance and to translate strategies into operational plans.
- Proven track record in delivering growth in media relations and/or marketing metrics.
- Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate people internally and externally.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the credibility, confidence and stature to interact with influential people at the highest levels.
- Excellent written skills with the ability to distil complex information into clear and coherent board reports and presentations.
- Experience working within the charity industry would be an advantage but is not essential.

The Role

Knowledge of the history and current situation in the Middle East, and preferably some direct experience in the region, is essential. The role of the Volunteering Projects Manager
The Volunteering Projects Manager is responsible for the support, development and effectiveness of our projects. Providing a high level of support, coaching and development to our student volunteer project coordinators.

We’re looking for an experienced Director of Fundraising and Marketing & Communications to join the executive leadership team at EACH. This role offers flexibility to work from any of our three hospices at Milton near Cambridge, The Treehouse in Ipswich and The Nook, near Norwich, combined with hybrid working.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) provides specialist care for babies, children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk and supports their families. As Director of Fundraising and Marketing & Communications you will lead the strategic planning and delivery of the Marketing and Fundraising annual plan (£7.5m) across all income streams, including major giving, community and events, corporate, trust and foundation teams. Job Purpose:
The Head of Brand and Content plays a lead role in managing the brand, overseeing the production of content, coordinating content across all channels and ensuring that it follows MSF’s objectives in terms of operations, fundraising, advocacy and recruitment.
In close collaboration with the Director of Communications, you would lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s brand and content strategy.
You would manage and support a team of content producers in line with our best practice management standards; appraising, coaching, mentoring and supporting your team and ensuring they are fulfilling their objectives to the best of their ability. You will also ensure that your team supports content producers in other teams by ensuring products adhere to brand guidelines and by providing copywriting and editorial support, audio-visual materials and graphic design services.

You will also serve as a focal point for discussions on content management across the international MSF movement, of which MSF UK is a member.

Finally, you will also lead decision-making on investments, reserves and the management of financial strategy and risks, taking into account our approach to sustainability. Skills and experience you will bring
• Experience working at FD level with in-depth knowledge of financial and operational management, ideally including relevant experience within the charity sector.

Stop Domestic Abuse is an innovative and unique provider of all services to those affected by domestic abuse. They provide inclusive domestic abuse services for adults and children living in Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton (population 1.9 million).
As Business Development Director, you will work as a key member of Stop Domestic Abuse’s Executive Leadership Team delivering the organisation’s strategic plans, focusing on securing and managing contracts and grants, management and business development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, developing and delivering the income generation and fundraising strategy.
- Drive growth and business opportunities for Stop Domestic Abuse by leading on and developing new proposals for contracts, tenders, and grant applications; ensuring a strong business case and measurable outcomes.

Excellent knowledge and understanding of the current funding landscape and evidence of successfully developing opportunities to obtain new funding sources is key, as is a strong knowledge of GDPR, data protection, confidentiality, EEDI and Health and Safety. You must also have a proven track record in developing, implementing, evaluating and monitoring strategic, operational, business and fundraising plans, with a background in developing and executing an income generation strategy. Knowledge of social media platforms and experience in developing/delivering communications across multiple outlets is also crucial.
