About the Role
As a Senior Program Accountant at the Thomson Reuters Foundation, you will:

Ensure accurate and timely project accounting and reporting for your portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

About You
You're a fit for the role of a Senior Program Accountant if your background includes:

Qualified Accountant with experience working in a program accounting, reporting and managing teams in a Charity (minimum of 5 years of experience).

The Schools Project Officer is a crucial business administrative role at the Diocese, as you will act as the first point of contact for projects concerning the development and maintenance of school sites and buildings, from senior leaders, governors, parish officers or our professional advisers.
Reporting to the Schools Officer and working within the Children, Young People and Education team, you will support the oversight of related grant funding and manage other bespoke projects such as promoting decarbonisation initiatives for church schools and organising land registrations. You will also advise school leaders and governors in relation to school organisation and the use or development of land and buildings.
As Schools Project Officer, you will act as facilitator between various internal and external teams, providing support through monitoring projects relating to school estates (building developments, maintenance and repairs), whilst making proactive enquiries and interventions to sustain progress against recorded timescales.
You will also take responsibility for managing grants held by the Diocese and liaising with schools regarding suitable projects and available funding, helping schools to prioritise projects for effective estate management.
A crucial part of our strategy is to assess the environmental impact of the Diocese’s church schools, planning for and supporting schools to advance decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects. As Schools Project Officer you will regularly update and signpost church schools to banks of practical materials and resources for decarbonisation campaigns, toolkits and projects, building case studies of best practice.
With an understanding of or experience in business administration, estate management or project support, you should be capable of supporting projects and have the ability to apply understanding to tasks. Capable of summarising complex information clearly, you should be able to explain the progress of projects to those with no specialist understanding.
Forward thinking, adaptable and responsive to a varied work programme, you should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have evidence of recent study, training or development and a willingness to learn new knowledge and technical skills.
It is essential for you to be supportive of the vision of the CYPE team and to be sympathetic to the contribution of Church of England schools to Christian mission.
The ability to travel and a willingness to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings and events is essential.
An understanding and awareness of Church of England structures and knowledge of the current educational landscape within the context of church schools, along with experience of budget management or creating financial reports would be desirable.

We are looking for three Support Workers (Community Connectors – Assessment and Engagement Team) to join our team. We have three positions available in Aylesbury.
Your challenge? To provide advice, support, advocacy and key work for recovery plans and undertake elements of assessment and case management as directed. And, all the while, we’ll expect you to operate in a way that recognises and values diversity and understands the functional model of substance use, the Recovery Agenda and the problems caused by alcohol and drug misuse.
Preferably with a NVQ 2/3 in Social Care, or willing to attain this, you are used to working to policy and procedural requirements that include child protection, vulnerable adults, confidentiality and health & safety.
We’ll also be looking for good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and fulfil data requirements. We are looking for a full-time Shelter Coordinator to join our small and friendly team to lead the successful delivery of our shelter operations for the 2024-25 winter season.
C4WS Homeless Project provides support to those experiencing homelessness throughout the year via a well-established winter night shelter in Camden, a lunchtime club, Jobs Club, hosting scheme, mentoring scheme and various other activities. We are passionate about helping people rebuild their lives after homelessness and working towards living independently.
Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for coordinating the practical and day-to-day running of our shelters, which will involve:
- Ensuring each shelter has enough trained volunteers to safely operate
- Ensuring each shelter has all the practical equipment and resources needed
- Liaising with and supporting church volunteer teams
- Being the main staff presence at shelter shifts
- Responsible for managing our weekly Friday Club drop in
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with people who are experiencing homelessness or other similarly disadvantaged groups, an efficient and practical approach, warm and friendly nature, and a can-do attitude.
The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly whilst the shelter is operating. This includes some evenings (9:30pm finish), and some weekend shifts and bank holidays, as per a weekly-changing rota, and therefore is required to display considerable flexibility. You will be involved in recruiting and retaining valued volunteers and keeping our service running. You will be responsible for providing direct support and guidance to volunteers, manage volunteer training, development and engagement initiatives, and feed into the strategic development of the high-quality volunteering programme.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong diplomacy, influencing, and negotiating skills. You will have experience of effectively working in a team, and across multiple locations within an organisation. Your experience of using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint will aid you in delivering training to staff or volunteers.
This is a full-time role with 3-4 days spent travelling to our shops, and 1 day per week spent supporting the Fundraising Team either working from home or from our office in Cowley, Oxford. The pay range for this role is £28,064 - £34,800 per annum + £8,000 car allowance per year (mileage included). Informal discussions are welcomed!

What you'll do:
Assist with the management of the Look Ahead Health & Safety risk register and annual action plan.
Assist with occasional health and safety and quality audits to gain experience of operations in the field.
Champion the Health & Safety and Safeguarding departments intranet page and document control
Champion the RIVO system, ensuring incidents are reported correctly and manage the follow up actions.
Identify internal themes, trends and good practice emerging from incidents, quality reports and health and safety alerts
Manage the mailboxes across the teams, including H&S, Safeguarding and Quality, responding to any email queries and register this information for further investigation.
Support the processes Look Ahead needs to meet its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
Assist the Senior Health & Safety Manager in co-ordinating the administration and development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures.
Analyse and collate the results of Quality visits across the organisation, monitoring the return of improvement plans and self audits.

The successful candidate will need to have experience of providing welfare benefits advice with skills in advocacy, negotiation and communication. They will be an articulate communicator with excellent IT skills suited to working in a paperless environment. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to relate to people of all ages especially older beneficiaries, in a manner which is conducive to relieving stresses and concerns by giving sound and impartial information, guidance and assistance.

The postholder will be responsible for the effective financial management of the Charity, including robust assessment of risk, providing sound financial advice to the Board of Trustees and Senior Leadership Team.
