Job Purpose & Responsibilities:

To be responsible for the development of projects to deliver improved outcomes for local communities, including but not limited to, commercial space, community, health or leisure facilities, that respond to needs, assets and aspirations of the local neighbourhood in Maerdy and surrounding areas.

To effectively manage our commercial tenants in our buildings and their expectations, managing key issues and risks, effectively monitoring and reporting progress, creating and updating tenancy agreements and escalating issues where necessary.

To secure investment such as room rental income streams, to develop projects and programmes that meet the needs and aspirations of the community 

To foster positive relationships with local communities, involving residents and businesses in the development of proposals, utilising best practice co-design methods.   

The post holder will be responsible for establishing strong internal and external relationships and partnerships, taking a lead on liaison with external partner organisations to ensure successful collaboration.

To carry out consultation and mapping with the community in regards to regeneration needs, opportunities and issues in the Rhondda Fach area.

To act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders for

delegated/assigned projects. To offer advice, assistance and support on all aspects of Arts Factory’s growth agenda.

To ensure the senior Management Team get the necessary advice, support and information to enable them to fulfil their roles as decision makers and/or community leaders, with regards to the design and delivery of the project/s. This will include the preparation of reports to management/Board of Directors/Funders.

To prepare and present advice, briefing information and reports, to appropriate individuals and bodies, and to external organisations and public meetings, as required.

The post holder should be prepared to work outside of normal hours, including attending evening meetings, and occasional weekend working.

Ability to see beyond labels and be able to communicate and work with people from all walks of life.

The  post holder will need to hold a full clean driving licence and have use of a vehicle.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week.

About the role

We are looking for someone with experience in facilities and contract management, and the drive and desire to find solutions and complete projects to a high standard. You’ll need to be highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to multi task. You must be a compelling advocate for the work of the Trust.

This role manages the Trust’s office facilities, ensuring they are safe, clean and support a positive working environment for staff and volunteers. The post holder will manage contracts, striving to secure competitive prices, support with IT alongside the Trust's IT service provider, and identify and coordinate improvements to the Trust buildings. This role also manages the Business Support Officer.

The Facilities Manager role is for a 10 month fixed-term maternity cover with the possibility of an extension. We would consider between 30-37.5 hours per week, worked across 4 or 5 days. Other options may be considered for the right candidate.

We are recruiting for a Communications Manager who will report to the Head of Advocacy & Communications and work closely with others in the team including one direct report.

The Advocacy & Communications Team works to support all area of our work including our Stop It Now helpline and programmes, our Shore website and support for young people, our paid services including training, assessments, intervention and consultancy as well as our advocacy, fundraising, research and teams in Scotland and Wales.

You will be responsible for project managing communications for our different services, teams and brands. You will develop, manage and deliver communication plans for these areas, working with operational colleagues to make the most of their expertise.

You will lead proactive reactive national, regional and trade press engagements across the charity. This includes a high-profile national campaign and several other projects vital to our success, identifying  and developing newsworthy angles.

You will maintain existing relationships with journalists and build new ones to raise support of our work and advocate for the importance of preventing child sexual abuse. You will support and develop the skills of our spokespeople and work with case studies to make sure their stories are told in a sensitive and engaging way.

You will also be responsible for our blog posts and growing that audience proactively finding opportunities to shine a ilght on all areas of our work.

Our ideal candidate will be a communications all-rounder. You'll be a great project manager, able to plan and stick to timeline, understanding how to bring in and get the mot out of everyone involved.

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the UK-wide Volunteering Team, as the lead representative for Northern Ireland.  

As the Volunteering Development Manager, you will support the development of key volunteering initiatives and projects both across the UK and Northen Ireland. You will play a key role in supporting colleagues in Northern Ireland to identify opportunities to embed volunteering across their work.

The Role 

As our Philanthropy Manager, reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will identify and approach people who wish to invest in the advancement of worldwide research to find cures for cancer. You will grow Yorkshire Cancer Research’s portfolio of major donors and deliver exceptional levels of tailored engagement and stewardship. In doing this, you will contribute towards the charity’s ambition to secure significant income to achieve the charity's plans to save more lives in Yorkshire and beyond. 
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Develop and implement Yorkshire Cancer Research’s major donor fundraising strategy and plans. 

• Provide philanthropic individuals with the opportunity to fund research and services that will make a positive difference to people with cancer in Yorkshire, and beyond. 

• Closely listen to and understand individual’s interests and/or concerns and match their requirements to the charity’s research/services that are likely to be of greatest interest. 

• Develop a portfolio of potential major donors and create appropriate engagement opportunities* ensuring that these opportunities match the individual donor’s wants and needs. 
  (*These engagement opportunities may include events, communications, smaller dinners, and meetings with senior people at Yorkshire Cancer Research).   

• Provide a bespoke, professional customer experience to all contacts at all times.

• Work with colleagues (e.g. in the marketing and the events teams) to identify existing charity activities that may help attract and engage major donors. 

• Build a pipeline of major donor prospects who share the charity’s values and ambition to save lives by researching and trialling new ways to cure cancer. 

About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or proven experience working in a similar role at a similar level. 

• To have experience of proactively approaching prospects and building long-term relationships, preferably with philanthropists or family foundations. 

• To have experience of researching individuals and using this insight to inform decision-making. 

• To have experience of working collaboratively and effectively in a matrix-management organisation. 

• To have experience of developing clear Key Performance Indicators and reporting performance against them.  

• To have experience of working with databases and CRM platforms (e.g. Access or Raiser’s Edge). 

• To enjoy working with, and supporting, colleagues as part of a team working towards a common goal.

• To be able to analyse and present data and information in a way that is helpful and actionable to others. 

• To have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to use active listening skills, and write professionally and appropriately for the audience.

Research Manager
Hours:  30 hours per week (part-time).  Flexible working requests will be considered.
Salary:  £32,076 (£26,008 per annum pro rata)
Contract:  Permanent
Location:  Dick Coles House, 2 Queensbridge, Northampton, NN4 7BF (hybrid and flexible working offered).  There will be expectations for this role to attend the office at least twice per week.  We encourage team members to meet face-to-face with all colleagues at least once a week to ensure good team relationships.  Thursday is currently a protected office day when all staff are expected to be present in the office.

About:

This rewarding post oversees the exciting research portfolio of the Psoriasis Association.  You will join at an exciting time with involvement in the updating of the Research Strategy.  The Psoriasis Association is a busy charity who alongside promoting and funding research, offers authoritative, reliable, quality information, advice and support for people whose lives are affected by psoriasis, in addition to raising awareness of psoriasis. 

We are a small but high performing team that is trusted and respected in our research community and the wider dermatology community we work within. 

You will oversee all aspects of the research grant award and monitoring process, including managing our panels of lay and peer reviewers, and work alongside the communications department to promote and highlight the research supported and funded by the Psoriasis Association.

Principal Roles:

• Manage the processing of new grant applications, ensuring that the charity continues to attract high quality proposals and achieve high standards in their assessment.  The work required as part of this process includes guidance for applicants, collating all reviewer feedback, undertaking quantitative and qualitative analysis of scores and feedback to inform discussion at the meetings of the Medical and Research Committee.

• Manage the monitoring of ongoing grants.

• Oversee annual Researchfish impact data gathering for all relevant grants and report on findings.

• Work alongside the Communications Department to promote the research funded by the Psoriasis Association.

Key Duties

• To provide support to the Chief Executive and Finance Officer on administering the ongoing awarding and monitoring of Psoriasis Association Grants.

• Work as part of a small team to further the important work of the Psoriasis Association.

• Analyse the impact of Psoriasis Association funded research.

• Update and implement the Psoriasis Association’s Research Strategy.

• Ensuring compliance with the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) membership criteria. 

Person Specification

• Experience of analysing data and producing quality reports based on findings. 

• Ability to assimilate, summarise and effectively communicate complex information to a wide variety of stakeholders. 

• An understanding and commitment to lay involvement in research.

• Have ability to work alone and as part of a small team.

• Proven ability to effectively manage, motivate and develop a skilled staff team and our volunteers. And effectively deliver and oversee appraisals and relevant training for staff and volunteers;
• Proven ability to manage and resolve complaints and enquiries, whether from staff, ICS Members, or from the public;
• Your hours will be flexible, with the understanding that you will be required to work occasional ‘unsocial hours’ (evenings / weekends), to provide support to funding and social events;
• We do provide technology and support to allow occasional ‘working from home’.
