We are looking for someone with a breadth of communications skills and strengths. Our communications directorate encompasses 18 people, and the director of communications has responsibility for two direct reports and sits on our executive management team (EMT), also helping to shape strategy and development across our 100-strong organisation. As director of communications, you will play a pivotal role in developing and strengthening our communications directorate. This will include ensuring we operate in an integrated way across our communications, policy and strategy, development and engagement and corporate services and finances directorates, enabling us to build on our success as an outstanding membership organisation.

You will provide strategic leadership for the organisation’s communications, marketing, media, digital and design functions, providing high level advice and support to the chief executive, deputy chief executive, chair and board, as well as playing a key role as part of the NHS Providers director team.

About Our Client

In September 2024 The One Touch Switching Company ("TOTSCo") launched a revolutionary way for UK customers to switch their broadband and landline provider. TOTSCo was founded by the UK telecoms industry in June 2022 to help to introduce the One Touch Switching (OTS) service that all telecom providers should now be using to make it much easier for their customers to switch. TOTSCo is a member-owned and not-for-profit company whose purpose is to develop and operate a messaging platform (The TOTSCo Hub) which is central to OTS.

Job Description

The Head of Finance is a core member of the organisation's structure and is a strategic partner to the CEO in all areas of finance. Responsibilities will include:

1. Job Purpose

• The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer, and comes with membership of the Executive Committee.
• The HoF is responsible for all financial control, reporting, statutory compliance and forecasting.

2. Manage the following functions including those that are outsourced providers (external accountants and managed service partner):

Financial Administration 

• Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including processing receipts, invoices, payments, and expenses.

We have already built our Freshers Fair campaign up to visiting 20 universities this year, and have started outreach into London based schools.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Developing of our education and awareness strategy for universities and schools.

• Evolving current and curating new programmes that fit within the overall strategy.

• Leading the outreach and collaboration with various education partners including, Universities, Private and State Schools, Student Unions, Student Societies, Public Education Boards e.g. OFSTED, Government etc.

Governance

About the role

We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. The role will have two direct reports – Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role and will have full responsibility for the finance function on a day to day and medium-term basis. The Financial Controller is to lead on all financial systems set up and upgrades.

This is a senior management position, working closely with the joint CEOs and the Board to ensure Graeae prospers artistically and financially.

The Finance Director will be responsible for implementing Graeae’s vision as laid out in the company’s business plan and to achieve artistic excellence, effective development of the company and financial stability. The Finance Director has overall responsibility for the financial management of the company, in liaison with the CEO, and the development and maintenance of financial controls, systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Financial management

1. Lead the financial management and the development and maintenance of financial controls, systems and procedures

1. Lead the preparation for annual budgets and project budgets in liaison with the joint CEOs
2. Establish and monitor key performance indicators in liaison with the joint CEOs

Reed Finance are proud to be working exclusively with London Design & Engineering University Technical College in appointing a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee all financial aspects of their educational institutions, including the UTC, the 6th Form, and the Engineering Skills College. The CFO will be responsible for strategic financial planning, managing financial risks, financial reporting, and ensuring sustainable economic health.

We are seeking an insightful and highly strategic individual who has the ability and appetite to influence at both micro and macro level. An engaging individual, comfortable with leading day-to-day operations and presenting to trustees and external organisations.

Key deliverables of the role:

• Advise the CEO and board on financial strategy and operations.
• Develop and implement the trust’s strategy, providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities.
• Conduct financial due diligence on potential new members of the trust and report recommendations.
• Manage the budget process, ensuring alignment with the trust’s strategic objectives.
• Develop and monitor the trust’s business plan using effective financial and budget modelling.
• Ensure robust financial management through the development and monitoring of financial policies and procedures.
• Manage internal and external audit procedures, ensuring compliance and addressing any recommendations.
• Oversee the trust’s commercial contracts and procurement procedures to achieve financial efficiencies.
• Complete and submit financial returns as required by regulatory bodies.
• Manage the central finance team, ensuring professional development and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role within a similar sized organisation.
• Demonstrated success in financial planning, analysis, and strategy development.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
• Strategic thinker with strong project management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, standards, and best practices.

Your eye for detail, 'get things done' attitude, and your bookkeeping skills will make a huge difference to our creative and innovative team.

You will be responsible for managing our financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations, and providing administrative support to the team. You will already have working experience of QuickBooks Online in a non-profit setting and a proven track record of getting things done efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online.

  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including donations and grants.

  • Submit quarterly VAT claims

  • Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budget preparation.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

• Administration:

  • Provide administrative support to the team where it would add most value (e.g. sales invoicing, scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies).

  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of fundraising events and campaigns.

  • Handle general inquiries and provide excellent customer service to stakeholders.

• Compliance and Reporting:

  • Help prepare management reports to support the trustees in their governance

  • Assist with annual audits and liaise with external auditors.

  • Ensure compliance with charity-specific financial regulations and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper/administrator, preferably in a non-profit setting.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.

• A formal and UK recognised bookkeeping/accounting qualification is highly desirable

• Solid understanding of non-profit accounting principles and regulations.

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in using spreadsheets for analysing financial data

• Proficiency in Google Workspace

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with donor management / CRM software.

• Understanding of fundraising and grant management.

• Familiarity with charity governance and compliance requirements.

SAINT is now looking for an experienced and highly skilled Head of Finance to join their team. In this key leadership role, you will ensure the church's financial health and sustainability, overseeing the full accounting process for the parishes and associated charities, as well as managing the Finance Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal part in supporting the church's growth and mission.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Qualified Accountant with professional body membership (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting and financial management experience.
• Experience of producing statutory accounts, management accounts, cash flow forecasts,
• budgets and other financial reports.
• Ability to analyse and interpret data and make sound financial decisions.
